Behold what's on the menu! btw: I'm sold on cowboy legs from now on ^^

Hey! This is awesome. The yellow alcoves really suit the classic castle style. I like it, even though the figs aren't fully genuine ^^ Keep it up!

last purchase was "citadel of orlan" (KK2.1 series) for about 50% off. nice thing at that price! and the guardian is just classy as hell.

Up until I had to move I kept every box. But after finally deciding to dump them, and having a knee-high pile of cardboard in my room, I now opt to abandon them asap. And now I hardly feel any emotional attachment to Lego-packaging anymore.

I think I got here first by being linked from FBTB...which I grew hating at that time. Bloody goddamn community spirit there...X( But here it was nice and comfy and deliciously off-topicky...so I came to stay. And that is how my story goes kids and gentlefellows ^^ Greetings, Cutty

"Watch it dear! I know my hat is bloody awful, but there's no need to puke in front of our loyal subjects!"

Yeah. Storyline-wise its more or less: "What are we going to do right now? -> Don't know, but it involves killing werewolves and vampires!". To everyone's surprise the supreme lord of all the undead is a mere whitebearded sissy (he cares for his sons, no matter how bad they behave...), the climax of the movie involves a "vampire blender" and the way to "Underworld 3" is paved with allusions to a shifted hierarchy in the order of werewolves and vampires... ...the sex scen is by the way not only to short but also too lame...some pretty people coughing an moaning is hardly erotic. To me that is. At least the male person has some hair on his thighs, which I count as a redeeming quality in terms of credibility. For any other aspect, the movie lacks...

"Underworld: Evolution" yesterday evening... ...and what a random disaster of videogame-action scenes it was. Hardly worth watching. Though I must say the makers do twist the classic vampire-attitude a bit. But here's one thing I won't understand: If you know you cannot harm/kill an undead creature with your puny automatic-rifle, what is the damn point in KEEPING TO FIRE at the frackin' thing?!

That's the reason why mynock-ladies USUALLY shave ^^ Hehe, pretty funny!

Just quick scanned it sans sound, but anyway... DAMN COOL! I'm sooo looking forward for that movie. All the new mutants fighting...what a fest! X-Men fans get the trailer! It's worth it!

Yeah, it does indeed sound kind of Stargate-ish. But it oozes antique sumerian and babylonian mythology and belief (most of which I have forgotten since I last got myself into). Basically the whole concept of an ancient culture, travelling to the stars, coming down from heaven (such as it seems to less advanced cultures) reminds me of how the sumerian and babylonian gods were seen. The design of that "boat" additionally resembles those of the "Ziggurats", the form of temple the sumerians and babylonians used to build. It was believed then that the gods would actually reside inside these temples and functioned as a vertical connection to their home sphere (heaven...) as well as a horizontal connection between the city states at that time. Nice concept!

finally came to watch that "The Last Days of Pompeji" DVD I bought recently. Well given it's directed by Sergio Leone ("Once Upon A Time In The West")...it is still lacking. I cannot quite describe how, but from an archaeologists point of view, I could point out A LOT! The whole movie hereby roots in the old "Good Christians vs. Bad Romans" topos...so younger fans of antiquity-movies (*cough* Gladiator *cough*) might be put off by its "style"... I cannot say whether it's a good or bad movie. It's just too different from my usual viewing preferences.

Go here and weep yer eyes sore... This is such a blatant ripp-off it hurts. There is another one of another character. And both side by side. Found through dumb/bad luck on Super Hero Times.

My language is fine, thank you. As for your additional questions: sometimes a little thumbtack with the thread spun firmly around the shaft might keep it stable. otherwise you could use a small metal lug (with a screw on it's end) to quide the thread back down to the wall (or wherever) and fix it more thoroughly should the thumbtack method appear to be uncertain. And don't fool me on the "last question" part! Just take the thread and twine it round some parts of the object you'd like to hang up. Job done. It couldn't possibly get any easier than that! For additional fixation you might apply transparent sticky tape to tighten the whole affair. A nice day to you...

I'm not Deinonychus here, but I'll answer anyway...and try to sound polite... Your questions is a little strange isn't it? Didn't you look at that picture, intensively...studied it? Wel if you had, you'd have most likely discovered those dragons are "floating" via threads attached to the room's ceiling. And come to figure it: THIS is the utterly most plausible and anyways first way to accomplish such a thing, as HANGING UP things, in the damn first place! People did this even with marble statues in Hellenistic/Roman times...so there's quite a bit of "tradition" in this. To make this a well rounded post here are two advises to you dear masterchief: a) the premier material for hanging up small items is (from my experience) "Nylon thread". It's a thin but very stable synthetic thread. You'd perhaps know this from certain lady's clothing, stockings foremost. It's the same kind of material, only as a garment. You can get it at most hobby-stores worldwide. And it's not even very expensive. If you don't find it (because the synthetic material has quite a few names...) just go ask the salesclerk. Or perhaps your parents whether they have some nylon thread already for you to use. b) post AFTER thinking! Please! It's not hard to figure out a thing is hung up by damn thread. I did it when I was younger all the time, and I figured it out myself. Gaah, this post will certainly get me in trouble with the mods, but our younger users sometimes are dense as hell...example: Tie Army thread. Utter chaos. So have a nice day. Yours sincerely, M.O.U.E. Cutty

Does "Brokeback Mountain" Qualify as Lego Theater?
Cutty replied to Shecky TNT's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I know that, but still dont get the prob. Some people are strange. Yeah I wouldn't know what the fuss is on about. Must be some "ultra-hetero" gay-angst problem... -
yeah, names ending on "-ne" will usually be "Nightmares of emotion"...bit lame...

Might I also suggest to try the Monster Name Decoder, linked in the upper right corner of the above site? Though there my real-life name works better than Cutty, behold: there is also a "Sexy Name Decoder" which renders the most hilarious yet inspiring result with the name of one of my most beloved friends. Though this will remain a secret here ^^

Cyborg Name Decoder If you ever wanted to know what your (screen-)name meant as a cyborgy acronym name...up there's your chance. Enter whatever name you'd like to decode, pick an ava and show your forum-siblings what kind of disturbed machinery sits next to your pc-set ^^ Edit:I have not yet figured out, why the html the site gives you won't result in a graphic on these boards...hmmm. Admin-help needed! Edit2: It works with c&p'ing the image itself and inserting it here. hopefully for longer than 5 minutes or so...

most people might think it's disturbing because it deals with gay-love aso. those minifigs making love are supposed to be male. both. so there... although I don't quite get the "stem the rose" line. I have an idea to what it references, but given the audience on these boards (rather the age-group) I couldn't possibly ask a native speaker for an explanation. at least not in the public...
