  1. Hooray! This is a great accomplishment by Lucasfil, to bow down and give the REAL fans the service they deserve! I for my part WILL buy this DVD-set and own it, and keep it till the end of frackin' time, just so no fat bastards can come over and claim my StarWars OT from me! ;-) ;-) No really, I think this is what GL should have done in the first place, releasing the OOT and the OTSE alongside each other. And being grown up solely on the OOT (how it should be done ;-) ) I majorly prefer the classic cinema releases. Even more so after I saw how desperately unneccessary some changes and how half-assed other (more important) changes were dealt with. But all this meddling has now an end! Finally I get what I wanted on DVD, and I'm happy...still not at peace with StarWars, though.
  2. Oh dang. I swore to myself never to buy another SW-set, but first i get a V-Wing (which I found very mediocre) and now THIS beauty of a review sparks my lust for a motherload of new brown and new greys... Just by looks I find the sails to be the best part of the deal by far. They could so work on a regular fantasy-background (air-)ship! And Lando's helmet is miles ahead of any other piece when it comes to resembling some generic "arena-pit-fighter"-helmet. Screw you LEGO! I need my cash elsewhere! :'-( :'-) *wub* ;-)
  3. yet nothing beats the bat-family: ^;;^ - vampyr bat ^><^ - ouch bat ^OO^ - geek bat ^oo^ mini-geek bat ^
  4. I have mentioned before I wouldn't get a Revolution...but a Wii? That might change my mind. It's a fair name, at least better than the uninspired "X" in "XBOX" whereas the "BOX" in "XBOX" reminds me more of cheap cartonage/cardboard than high level gaming experience. And SuvieD: Your dialog is great! Just remember: Playing with your Wii is GOOD!
  5. Had the same problem with uploading my picture from my harddrive during my latest ava-change. I repeated the procedure about 5 times and even deleted the old ava beforehand. It wouldn't work anyway, i.e. I was stuck with the old ava again. Uploading to a webspace however and linking to the URL rendered the required result rapidly...
  6. cum grano salis? Now THAT'S an understatement! This reeks so foul of fan-wishing I cannot even chuckle about it. Especially that Kid Icarus part is weird, seeing how the franchise, and I go as far as calling it that even though it only spawned two(!) games, is even more dead than disco! If it happens though, and hell do I wish for it to, I'll shave my head and get a mugshot of Shigeru Miyamoto tattooed on my headskin ^^
  7. "Do you know what they call a quarter-pounder with cheese in paris?" -> BEST.LINE.EVER! although "Do you know what they put on french fries instead of ketchup?...mayonnaise!" "URGH!" ranks a close second *wacko* X-D Go see Jackie Brown if you liked Pulp Fiction! It's not as confusing the first time you see it, much more mature and drama ridden. Yet hilarious if it needs to be. And after that, get yourself an uncut version of Reservoir Dogs! It's worth it!
  8. *y* Though I am mildly offended by bastard-Adolf holding a minifig... The concept of touch-reactive nerve-poison might be much more real actually than one would want to believe!
  9. Whay that? Lego is Lego... as I would libertly quote one of my old history-teachers (though he didn't exactly say Lego ^^).
  10. Happy Birthday DoubleT! May ye live long and happily ever after! note: Sad thing about the abbreviation "TT" is that you always have to check the context whether DoubleT or ToaTilius is meant...
  11. Go see 2 and get the trailer for 3! It's worth it!
  12. Howl's Moving Castle! An anime by Hayao Miyazaki....and just like Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away, it blew me away! Damn, I love that movie. Just for the setting: Two idyllic german-romanticist-postcard-style countries in an industrial-post-victorian-german-kaiserreich-steamtech-era (ok, somewhat confusing...but it fits) start war over the disappearance of the prince of one country. Meanwhile young hat-maker Sophie (don't know her name in the english version) meets the wizard "Haruru/Howl" and falls in love with him, and in return is cursed with old age by his former love interest...an evil witch. Now Sophie seeks to remove the curse, only to find she has to lift a curse from Haruru/Howl as well, to gain is love. This movie is just a fest of well written characters! All the main protagonists are convincing, the support characters don't just act as comic relief, though they do much to entertain, like Calcifer, the fire demon, who brings the Moving Castle into motion. The scene where Sophie and Haruru fry bacon and eggs on Calcifer is soooo cute! But as any film dealing with love and war we have some serious drama here that ruptures the romantic atmosphere until you feel left with a strange feeling somewhere inside your belly. And for one time it's not this old "good vs. bad" conflict where you have to relate to one side, rather you see the perspective of persons that do hardly participate in the war (well apart from Haruru) but will suffer from it. Animation-wise this is high quality stuff! As you would expect from a full length feature by Studio Ghibli... Oh this movie is just so amazing and I feel I already gave away too much info, so get out there rent it and enjoy it! Now!

    Google-game!

So for mutual entertainment I hereby propose starting a fine game using the "Google picture search function". The rules are as easy as this: 1. A person will name a thing and your task is to google up an image off the net, using the EXACT SAME word the person you reply to named. 2. When you posted in this thread, you will have to name the next thing that is to be googled. 3. Sexual/violent content is to be avoided 4. If possible the very first picture your google-search renders is to be posted here 5. I don`t know the exact measures of pictures that bust the forum's layout, but refrain from posting overly huge material. 6. This is meant to be fun for you, and the rest of the community! Enjoy youselves! That's rule no.6 7. Use the "Medium images" or "Small images" at the "Images showing" option (at the top left beneath the Google logo), please no "Large images"! EDIT by Apo: Added rule #7! 8. Rule added by XWINGYODA: when you pic starts a new page, please edit your post to add before the pic the word in question ;-) So that the pic is not disconnected to the word !! Will be more fun like that hehe ;-) And because there is noone I could reply to safe for myself, I name a thing myself, post a pic, and name the very next thing as well ^^ So I name: Chocolate And for replies I name: "Cutty"
  23. Yeah, you're right there. And given there's a train to venlo from where I study, I might give it a shot someday. I must say I had some pleasurable Lego-incidents at Blokker stores during my yearly trips to Holland (which have become quite less frequent as soon as I stopped going on holidays with my parents...). Still an option though, thanks for the info!
  24. I so need to get two of these! I mean it, the inventory is damn slick! p.s.: It is not available through German S@H!
  25. Happy Birthday Jipay! Have a great day (and lots of Lego ;-) )!
