  1. Thank you, kind sirs! You're right BrickClick, the torso is from a dragon knight. I got it from set 7947, Prison Tower Rescue. As you can see here, you could get the torso from other sets too.
  2. Reviving this topic seemed better than create yet another new thread. Especially since the new photos still fit the discription of the original post! Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, with a different head and torso from last time.
  3. Okay, okay, I need to work on my lighting, I agree. Especially with these shots, taken with my HD video camera. Turns out it's easier to focus than with the photo camera. Also easier to avoid overly bright spots. Anyway, here come merry men, a sinister sheriff and a powermad prince! Robin Hood, the Sheriff of Nottingham and some lovely animals TLC finally made: Friar Tuck, Robin and Little John: Evil prince John with a Joker-esque jester: The Sheriff with a footsoldier: And one more of the noble Robin of Loxley / Locksley: I tried making a Robin who has the classic hat-and-feather, but it looked a lot less serious than this medieval man... Am I too much under the influence of the two latest movies? Am I drifting away from the myth? Speaking of being influenced by the films, the Sheriff's head is Alan Rickman's! It's professor Severus Snape from the Order of the Phoenix Hogwarts castle set. Didn't set out to use that head, but out of all my options this one looked the part. Coincidence? Still working on Maid Marian and Richard the Lionheart, among others. The costumes of Prince John's men are blue with the crown insignia. King Richard's men will be in red-and-white with the lion insignia.
  4. Oh, this is... This is... This is fARRRR beyond what I ever imagined. If this is the real thing, that's a whole theme right there that I'm buying all sets of. No question. Never been a MegaBloks fan, but for Pirates of the Caribbean, I did sin. Bought three or four of those sets. The first (and to me, best) film came out when I was 14 and had a big influence on my whole taste in and knowledge of movies. Through Pirates I discovered mister Depp, through mister Depp I discovered the films of misters Gilliam and Rodriguez, found new appreciation for mister Burton's work... That figure looks absolutely gorgeous. Please, please, please let it be real. (Looks that way, but I'm no expert.) Glad to see bigger LEGO fans than myself are thinking it's genuine. Combined with that teaser from Comic-Con, I've turned from 'meh' to 'OH YES, BRING IT ON!' in one morning. How easy am I?! ;) Or how brilliant are the actual mister Depp and his minifigure self...
  5. Funny! I can see this spawning a whole slew of Star Wars scenes with our admirable admiral popping up...
  6. Ugh. Can this please, please, please be the last time there's uniting through RTD-hating? He deserves "so! much! more!" in my view. As a relatively differently opinionated person on the whole RTD era, I'll list some of the highs for me. The episodes per series I'd recommend people to see, if they'd want to watch just the highlights. Series 1 Rose Fine, clever (yes, I said clever) way of introducing the Doctor to an audience who know nothing about Doctor Who. Why clever? It starts with a normal person, in the normal world. Only gradually does the weirdness enter the picture. Very accessible. Compare that to the first scenes in The Movie (1996). Skaro, Time Lords, thirteen lives, the Master... what?! Whereas Rose takes you by the hand. Much smarter strategy to introduce new audiences to the phenomenon. Dalek Pretty much all of us on here agree about this one. Fantastic episode, very well-executed introduction to the Dalek(s). Father's Day The classic time travel story, but by way of Who. Hits the right emotional notes. Series 2 School Reunion Sarah Jane Smith and K9 make a fantastic return, which even people unfamiliar with Who can relate to. I should know, it was the first episode I ever saw. And it has Giles! Anyone else think the Skasis Paradigm should make another appearance? Interesting, threatening concept. I wish the sad, instrumental version of Song for Ten would've returned beyond this episode. The Girl in the Fireplace There's only one word for this perfect beauty: heartbreaking. Series 3 The Shakespeare Code Shakespeare in Love by way of Who. Pretty much the funniest episode ever, I think. Sort of a more academical version of an Indiana Jones story. Gridlock Epic. Total epic. Saving a planet more subtly than usual, in just a one-off episode, which also forms the bright centre of the Face of Boe storyline. Brannigan is probably my favourite non-returning guest character of the past years. Did I mention the fantastic music? Sweet last scene, too. Blink Oh, so many fans have drooled over this already. You know the drill. Oscar-nominated Carey Mulligan as Sally Sparrow. The truly scary Weeping Angels. Clever storytelling. Poor D.I. Shipton. The darkest humour in Who so far: "It's not pretty when they blow." HA! Utopia Derek Jacobi is endlessly awesome in this one. And the story so nicely plays into the last of the Time Lords plot thread and the fobwatch idea. The return of captain Jack! More like a proper introduction to his new self, even. Series 4 Voyage of the Damned That's right, I actually love this one. Brilliant score. Probably the best score ever in New Who, and that's saying something, 'cos the score in ALL of New Who is bloody amazing in my book. How can Murray Gold do such beautiful work for so many episodes a year, while many composers on major motion pictures fail to impress at all? He's a genius. Kylie is so cute. Mr Copper is so sweet. Bernard Cribbins is so funny. Almost trashing Buckingham Palace (!) with the Titanic (!) is sooo out there. I absolutely love it! "Only Britain is great." Best Christmas special so far, to me. Planet of the Ood Ood. Tim McInnerny. Song of Freedom. Gothic horror transformation. Cool! Silence in the Library / Forest of the Dead Ah, when River Song was still sympathetically enigmatic. Spoilers! Great use of the time-twisting potential of Doctor Who. Midnight Wow. Barely any special effects shots, yet all the more impressive. Fantastic performances from David Tennant and Lesley Sharp (do check her out in Bob & Rose, a brilliant series). Brilliant idea by Russell T Davies. The Stolen Earth / Journey's End I personally adore this story. Two of the episodes I can watch over and over again. Nice character work, great music and the best scene ever shown on television anywhere: all the companions aboard the TARDIS, pulling planet Earth back home. Pure awesome. So joyful. The Specials The End of Time Liked bits of Planet of the Dead, mostly disliked The Waters of Mars, loved The End of Time. Sure, there could've been MORE on the Time War, and a McGann cameo would've been super, but as it is... Timothy Dalton is such a great villain. The two old men, Wilf and the Doctor, have such sweet little scenes. And the last twenty minutes... Wow. What would you want to do when you know you're almost out of time? Visit all the people you love one last time. The Doctor asking whether Joan had been happy after he hurt her. Devastating. What he did to give Donna a wedding gift. Visiting Rose one last time. The Ood music. It's the perfect ending to the RTD / Tennant era, to me. So yeah, that's 9 episodes penned by RTD and 4 by The Moff, out of the 18 I wrote about. I think both men are brilliant. They have very different styles and fortes, but they're both great writers and assets to the Doctor Who universe.
  7. Having put one of those Prince of Persia ideas into practice, here is the result: Since I was fidgeting anyway, I thought I'd create an Eric Roberts TV movie Master as well. He can be found on my Flickr page. By the way: I'm still planning on making a short Doctor Who brick flick. I love John Debney's version of the theme and now that my McGann fig starts to actually look a bit like him... Just seems like a nice idea. That clone trooper 'skirt' over the legs works alright visually, but it does rather limit the movement of the character. Oh well. I'll figure something out. Been having too many fun story ideas to pass up on the chance just 'cos the Soon To Be Last Time Lord likes his coat long.
  8. Oh, now! That animation looks really nice! As has been said before me: very smooth and good lighting. Looking forward to seeing more.
  9. Actually, I quite like British humour. Oh well, it's a good thing we don't all love and hate the same things. Life would get dull pretty quick! Definitely agreeing with you there! P.S.: I hope I didn't do anything to your post by clicking that +Quote button... I thought that was for quoting your piece in a new reply. Sorry!
  10. Haven't been posting in this thread, since I wasn't psyched over the new series so far. Sure, episode 1 was nice, but the aliens looked dreadful in my opinion. Episode 2 was a little too confusing for me (Smilers, monk-like chaps, crack-in-the-wall, forget, Liz Ten, Star Whale... huh?). And last week's episode still has me undecided: cool dogfight, Winston C was camp yet fun, but the Daleks are now looking their least cool ever - after having looked the coolest ever for 5 years! "What...? What?! WHAT?!" Tonight brought us episode 4, The Time of Angels. The promotional clips and trailers had me excited on one hand (Weeping Angels! River Song! Byzantium! Actor Iain Glen!) and slightly worried on the other. The glorious TARDIS sound is only there because the Doctor leaves the breaks on? I like a bit of joking about with the past and referencing and stuff, but turning that iconic sound into a joke... Hated that bit when I first saw it as a promotional clip and still hate it now I've seen it in context in the episode. That said, everything else about The Time of Angels has me punching the air and shouting: "YES! Doctor Who is finally BACK!" The rhythm of the episode was spot on (ep 1 and 2 really lacked in that respect, I feel), the clever storytelling Moffat showed before is there, the Weeping Angels and River Song and Iain Glen deliver... Yay! And of course the promise of very interesting stuff to come in the very next episode and the further future. The main thing I loved was the return of proper mystery and the return of the Doctor. Return of the Doctor? Yeah. He was there in the first three episodes, I did notice that, but only now did the focus seem to be on HIM for a change. Russell T Davies era seemed to be about the Doctor himself, while he didn't shine too brightly in this new series so far. Again, this is just my view. If someone'd count his screentime and lines, it might well be just as much as before. But tonight I felt for the first time since New Year's Day, this was about the Doctor again. So three cheers for tonight's ep. Haven't thought "Can't wait for next time!" since The End of Time, Part Two but tonight I'm thinking it once more. Welcome back, Doctor!
  11. So, silly question I'm sure and not of interest to many, but when will they become available in the Netherlands? Not even Shop @ Home has them. Will TLG leave us so unsatisfied?
  12. Thanks for the comments, everyone! Oh, just looking at those Toy Fair pictures almost has me wishing it were October already. Almost, cos, well, I've got lots of fun plans in my life that will hopefully happen before that time. But still! Wow! The line-up of new minifigs in particular has me daydreaming... - new Draco Malfoy face for David Tennant (admit it, it sooo works! with the smirk and his left eyebrow lifted higher) - caretaker Filch's torso for Paul McGann / Eighth Doctor, with Dastan's hair from Prince of Persia - Ginny and Luna torso's for Rose and maybe Donna, plus Ginny's hair for Donna? - or perhaps for Donna the female singer's hair from the second Minifigures wave - the Ben Kingsley character from PoP has the ultimate Anthony Ainley Master face, combined with the Minifigure vampire's hair - the Minifigure skater's hair might work for Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor And the wishful thinking part: if we'd get Bellatrix' hair in some form of brown or blonde, it'd work rather well for River Song. If there could be an uncle Vernon figure as he looks in the game somewhere down the line, we'd have a brown suit! Mutt Jones / Oliver Wood hair + new Draco face + brown suit would be the definitive, iconic Tenth Doctor Lego minifigure. So, TLC... Thanks for the FANTASTIC new lines! (The Star Wars stuff looks galaxies beyond amazing, too. Who just got in charge of minifig design? Cos I wanna hug him/her!) And here's hoping for that brown suit. Pretty please?
  13. Interesting to see that while some think (logically) "new parts = rare", the Forestman is perceived to be one of those rare buggers. He's got some of the oldest parts in Legodom! Seriously, those quivers, bows and pointy hats were all over the place 20 years ago. Oh. Sort of answered my own question there. We'll just have to wait and see. I'm personally hoping to trap a Forestman, Zombie, Cheerleader, Nurse and Emo Kid. (Since we're listing fav's!)
  14. Ooh, nice technique with Bootstrap's hair and the bubbles. Great design on Davy Jones!
  15. Whatever unlikely stories or personality traits TLC comes up with, the theme looks quite interesting. I do love me some monsters, and boy does Atlantis have them! The squid minifig looks spec-ten-tacular and that helmeted green guardian is the coolest fish in the pond, man. Does anyone else wish there'd be sets (or perhaps just one special edition) of the old Nautilus-like sub and the original Atlantis city? (Either that, or another Time Cruisers theme with a more serious range of different eras. Pretty please?) Still, what actually exists looks cool. Nice job with the first wave.
  16. Wow! While I don't use decals myself, I do appreciate them very much when others use them well. And you just raised the bar, sir! Great creation, looks very faithful to the actual thing. Keep us posted on that community event, please. It'll still be worth checking out if the rest is half as good as this car.
  17. What a finale! Bit confusing, some loose ends I suppose, but emotionally perfect. I was afraid there was no better way to bring everyone back than in The Stolen Earth / Journey's End, but this was great. Such a painful yet beautiful idea to have Ten try and find out whether Joan Redfern had been happy. And how stirring to let Ten give Donna a present from her dad, who couldn't be there. Geoff Noble actor Howard Attfield had actually died during the making of series 4 - this little scene had me reduced to tears! The Davies / Collinson / Gardner / Tennant era is over, then. Blimey. It's been great. Sad to see them all go, but we've got Moffat / Wenger / Smith to look forward to. That should be good too! But because I just can't say goodbye to Ten yet (he really could've done so much more), I'm starting work on a small stop-motion Lego animation adventure for the Tenth Doctor. Oh, and simonjedi - fabulous moving profile picture! Wonderful chaps, all of them.
  18. Sorry for the double-post, but editing the last post again won't get this noticed at all, and creating a whole new topic for two figs... well... I thought this was the 'best' solution. Barely recovered from Ten's farewell, I put together two minifigs of sinister Time Lords: Bring on Eleven, sure, but I still like Ten! He could have done so much more! So, I'll see if I can add to his adventures, even if it's literally on a mini scale. Hopefully soon, there'll be a short test episode online of a Doctor Who animation with my minifigures and TARDIS set. If it's fun to make and if people are interested, there should be more episodes. DOCTOR WHO will return in The Universal Mirror
  19. Wholeheartedly signed! We need fleshie Vernon, Ginny, Quirrell and Lockhart and there are dozens of figs we haven't seen at all yet! Where are Mr Ollivander, Fred & George, Molly, Arthur, Percy, Bellatrix, Tonks, Luna, Scrimgeour, Fudge for that matter (admit it, you want a bowler hat), Fleur, Cedric, Cho... And the many cool sets that could be made.
  20. Wow, fantastic video, Riddler! If only that would be possible for real... Maybe the great Moff will want to do a multiple Doctor story in the near future? 2013 would be a good occasion. And he's not averse to it, if Time Crash is any indication. As the airing date of The Waters of Mars is finally revealed (Sunday November 15th, 7 pm UK time), it's time to add some new and some improved (hopefully) figs to the Doctor Who LEGO range. Apologies for the somewhat disco-y colours of some of the pics, I'm still a total amateur when it comes to photography. Captain Jack Harkness in his long coat (even though it should be more grey and yeah, he'd never wear a white sweater). Note the vortex manipulator, heh. New (and improved?) Tennant-Doctor. The tenth Doctor and the man who might well be his last companion, Donna's granddad Wilfred Mott. And finally, the new bloke. With the new lass. Although the lass is unchanged from last time, but I did change a lot about the bloke. Heh. Edit nov 7: added these two new pics. The Master and Torchwood.
  21. So... Not trying to be the guy who spoils the party, but uhm... Do we have any proper evidence for the return? Few months ago, I was a believer, but shouldn't we have heard more of it by now? Or would it be a summer outing? 'Cause we're already informed on the early 2010 sets of all possible themes and varieties. Maybe there's hope in a summer release? (Don't get me wrong, I'd -love- to see new Potter sets. That's why I'm asking!)
  22. Thanks to all for the wonderfully kind words! It's very motivating. Today, I made a few changes with Ten and Eleven. Comforming them more to the general perception, perhaps? Whenever I see Ten made by anyone but me, he's got Mutt Jones hair. So here goes: Ten with Mutt Jones hair. Now that his old hair has become available (Lego weirdness), I put it on Eleven to see what it'd look like. Please tell me what you think! Is this better? No improvement? Worse? (2013: The Three New Doctors?)
  23. It's the 'realest' rumour we've had so far. Sounds interesting. I for one hope very much TLC will re-launch the HP line. TLC've stopped and re-launched their own Pirates line and there was a gap (for obvious reasons) between the Spider-Man 1 and 2 sets. So in theory, they could re-launch it. And it sounds like they'd be doing it to tie-in with the game. Could that mean fleshie characters from Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets? Here's hoping it's true. I'd be first in line at the toy store / Shop @ Home!
  24. Who knows, booger, there might be a friendly old face if TLC releases a Marcus Brody fig in the Indy line. (Fingers crossed! Brody and Sallah, please.) Anyway, on-topic: great set, sir! It looks very authentic, both setwise and BTTFwise. I love your attention to detail, with Doc's gloves and the hook at the back of the car, the falling tree... Genius.
  25. Gorgeous building! It looks right for the city. Your characters are very recognisable, nice! The Unseen University... Now there's a challenge. Reckon you'll be done in time for the release of Unseen Academicals? How much of the many parts do you intend to include (library, Archchancellor's study, etc)?
