  1. What are we thinking of the CMF 2 bag “leak”? Real? Fake? Something seems off to me, even though I would adore all of the figures in that picture.
  2. As far as I’m aware, the ‘surprise’ refers simply to the way in which casual buyers obtain the figures: in blind bags. Therefore, they should be surprised as to what figure they’re actually getting.
  3. That baby triceratops is so cute! I love what they’re doing with these sets. Here’s hoping there’s a second new dinosaur in the wave. Based on previous waves, that seems a reasonable number.
  4. These are available in the LEGO Store in Utrecht, the Netherlands, too. Picked up the ice dude, the elephant lady and I must admit, more than one penguin. Love the Santa hat in all white as well.
  5. Not trying to get anyone’s hopes up, but... Considering the island is made up of a bunch of shipwrecks, perhaps it would be possible to reverse-engineer a(n almost) complete ship out of those parts?
  6. Great model! Having been to Speedy’s, I can say you’ve captured it very well!
  7. Oh, be still my beating heart... The ‘architecture’ looks amazing. I hope there will be useful, unique minifigure elements. The original design is certainly wonderful. This should make for a fitting present for the 30th anniversary of LEGO Pirates. A present? A treasure!
  8. Guess I’ll be the one who asks the standard question for when something looks this amazingly awesome: ...we’re sure it’s not a fake, right? Because Michael Keaton / Tim Burton Batman? OH YEAH! This will go verrry nicely with the LEGO Batman Movie Penguin who seemed to have come straight out of Batman Returns.
  9. Instagram alert! It looks like the chameleon is included with someone who looks A LOT like Johnny Thunder. As for fans of the dachshund - you’ll be enjoying the person who takes care of two dogs and their, uh, dropping...
  10. It’s very unlikely they’ll include the cars. If they had licensing issues with the car manufacturers for the D2C, best not get our hopes up for other sets in the near future. Considering there’s no Jurassic World film coming soon, I’m guessing it’ll be more Legend of Isla Nublar stuff. Fine by me, those sets are quite fun and - here’s the best bit - actually include zoo/themepark related builds! Personally, I got my fingers crossed for another new dino. When are you gonna give us that brachiosaurus, LEGO? Or the stegosaurus?
  11. Same here. Bricklink gave me the answer: that very design of a lion on blue is also on torsos of some Castle knights from the 1980s. The keys, as far as I can tell, are a new addition.
  12. +1 for the potential sheep! Big, big fan of LEGO animals. The chameleon is an unexpected but very welcome addition, I think. Also: not a rumour, just a totally personal wish on my part - I’m hoping for one new pirate character in this 30th anniversary year. So far, thanks to the CMF series, we already have a captain, a zombie captain, a crew member, a Conquistador, an ‘islander’ and - arguably - a bluecoat (the American soldier with the wig). Maybe a cartographer this time? A blacksmith? Merchant? Rum runner? Ship’s cook? Another generic crew member, perhaps female this time?
  13. I think there was a ‘tavern’ in the Pirates of the Caribbean theme. The Captain’s Daughter or a name like that. So, maybe?
  14. Good question. I don’t know. Would they be allowed to talk about it, though? (I’m assuming that’s why you’re wondering?)
  15. Yes! You win the internet today! Now any potential second CMF series will have this to live up to. Oh, boy. ?
  16. After some careful looking and zooming in (I’ve made screenshots on my phone), it looks to me like it’s Vitruvius’s beard. The beard looks thinner than it is, because there’s a golden conepiece in front of it that mingles with the torso because of the low image quality. The advent calender is even better than I expected. Awesome! And like Falconfan1414 said: it’s cool to hear the theme has been doing well. Hurray for Harry!
  17. This is a forum. Surely, this should be a safe place to discuss and express opinions, even if those opinions are negative. That doesn’t automatically mean that people are “moping and whining”. As for me, I’m very surprised by the shape this set has taken. Especially with the Rex, it seems more in line with the James Bond D2C than with the Stranger Things, Batman 1966 kind of approach. Because we’ve had minifigure scale playsets for Jurassic so far, I think it was a completely fair assumption from a lot of us that this set would be that, too.
  18. So... Is this for real? This is what the Jurassic Park D2C actually is? JP is my favourite film of all time. Just yesterday, I was thinking they’d need to do something very, very weird for me to not buy this day one. I was totally expecting them to go for the Batman 1966 Batcave approach. Include one or two vehicles and amazing figures with an iconic location. Looks like the figures are wonderful indeed, but the rest is blindsiding me completely. I have no idea where this came from, if it’s real (but then, why wouldn’t it be). It’s a great brickbuilt dinosaur, absolutely, but it’s so incredibly far from what I was expecting...
  19. Speaking as someone who voted for series 1... That series had 10 different ‘franchises’ in it, if I count each film and ‘Mickey and friends’ as one. Series 2, by the same logic, has six, or in the best case (counting Chip ‘n’ Dale, Duck Tales and Steamboat Willie seperately) eight. That could be a negative factor to some. While I personally love some of the characters in this series, I think Edna, Frozone, Jasmine and Jafar are more complimentary to the characters in the previous series than main attractions in their own right. That, too, might affect the perception of this series. Finally, if I were to guess, I’d say most characters from series 1 are nearly universally loved. I’m not sure I could say the same for Hercules and Hades or Huey, Dewey and Louie. I have high hopes for a third series, if there is to be one. Characters like Goofy, Snow White, Rapunzel, Belle, Baloo and Pooh (not to mention some of their counterpart) should appeal to a lot of people. So, fingers crossed for a return to form...?
  20. At this point, I wouldn’t rule anything out. As far as I know, while there have been rumours from reliable sources, there have been no official announcements yet. Just a handful of leaks. The existence of Hammond, Nedry, Arnold and an alternative Malcolm gives us some clue as to what choices may have been made. It seems like this set will have a bunch of iconic stuff. With the earlier JP set taken into account, that’s pretty much all of the important characters. As a big fan, I’m missing Muldoon and Gennaro, but I’m not sure they’d be top of mind for more casual JP fans. In terms of iconic status, the Visitor Centre, the gate, a Jeep and a Tour Car are up there when it comes to buildable things. Arguably the Raptor Penn, too. Maaaybe the Hatchery. So it’d be fairly safe to assume two or three of these make the final cut, possibly in quite simple versions. As for the animals... The T-Rex and the Raptor are the dinosaurs most casual fans would probably mention right away. Therefor, I believe the chance of those two being included might be quite high. Because of Nedry’s appearance, I’d say a third addition could be the Dilophosaurus. What’s stopping LEGO from including whatever dinosaur? Surely, at this point, they have had the molds for a while and each of these three has been released several times. Do we know for a fact that they are still so costly to produce? My bet (based on no inside Information whatsoever, purely personal speculation) is we’ve seen all the figs now, the set will most likely include the three dino’s I mentioned and the builds should then be the Jeep, the Tour Car and rudimentary versions of the Visitor Centre and the gate. My track record in these kinds of guesses? I was dead wrong in predicting Disney Minifigure Series 2’s contents, but the first (I think?) to speculatie the Disney D2C might be a train. Whatever happens, I’m stoked that we’re getting a JP D2C, as it’s my favourite film of all time. I hope the set will bring everyone what they’re wishing it to be. (Edited for typos.)
  21. Looking forward to it, as always! I suppose the speculation has already started as to if we’ll get a third series (pretty much everyone weighing in seems to think so), and when (please don’t make us wait another three years).
  22. Interesting to know. Thanks, @Digger of Bricks. As for future CMF series, here’s hoping there will be a healthy mix of original and licenced stuff. So far, I think there have been wonderful parts and figures in every series. The CMF’s might even be the “theme” I buy the most!
  23. What do they regret about him?
  24. Looks to me like the brothers do have tails. Uncle Scrooge seems to be the only duck lacking one.
  25. Hahahahahaha! *huge intake of breath* I scored a grand total of TWO correct predictions! Man, do I suck at this game, haha. Still, very pleased with everything/everyone we are getting. (And, of course, here's hoping for a third series.)
