  1. Has to be the Emerald Night. Something about that train is just pure beauty. The engineering and the appearance just makes it a work of pure genius with the tiniest part of magic.
  2. Well two of the figs (black suit Spider-man and Jean Grey) go for about $100 each, but the special edition Iron-man and Captain America are about $1500 each! Which is incredible. I've been trying to get Spider-man and Jean for a few weeks now but always get out bidded at the last second by about £1.50. I just lost another to someone a second ago. I'm desperate to try and get myself to the con but its expensive. For me to go for the week it's going to be about £3000. I don't mind promtional figures but its frustrating when it becomes the journey of middle of earth. I'm fine with spend x amount between these dates at lego. They level the playing field and allow anyone anywhere to get one. Marvel aren't in my good books this year after the 4 Exculsive figures that I couldn't afford even with the sale of my kidney, and disaster that was the UK Blu-ray of The Avengers. Hopefully LEGO will not do the same thing again and just hand out previews. On a seperate note I don't suppose anyone has the names of the suspected scammers? I would like to take a look and also just to becareful. If you can't post them on here could you send me them in a PM please.
  3. The city sets are great because they are very universal and can be used in many of the other themes. But if you look at the the majority of trains from the past few years they are mostly based on small themes like Toy Story and Harry Potter. It's just a shame LEGO has to attach a licence in order to have faith that the product will sell. Even the Maersk train ( although wonderful and second best only to the emerald) is a licence train. I would like to see a subway system. Not only because apart from the Spider-man version it hasn't really be done before but because it has a lot of potential.
  4. I'm planning on picking up a lot of the Marvel NOW stuff. Which starts next month with: Uncanny Avengers Red She-Hulk Marvel Now! Point One A + X The first four look pretty good. Also I just finished reading Nightwing #0 which is incredible and has a nice origin story for Dick Grayson. Plus I love his updated Robin outfit.
  5. True the marketing around another wave would cost more money. In that case then LEGO could move the winter wave back a few months to around October/ November. That way the sets would be fresh for Christmas and there would be a balanced amount of time between each wave. Although the current release schedule has some benefits, it could result in a problem for TLC. When the second wave is released so soon after the first it would steel some potential sales from the first. I suppose one good point from the current set up is that I don't have to worry for 9 months about new sets coming out. Gives me time to catch up.
  6. Also on top of that the probability of someone being able to buy about 30 of each fig is near to nothing. Most of the comic con attendees even no lego fans will know that the figures are worth a lot more. It's written al over the place there's only a thousand and just though word of mouth in lines. Also with free wi fi and 4G + 3G anyone can look on the web to see how much there going for. I remember this year I comic con employee got his hands on the figs early put them on eBay and was selling them at $400 each.
  7. Hmm not sure about remaking a UCS set. There's so many other vehicles that could be made in there place. That said a MF rerelease would interesting, and I sure in this case many would love to be given the chance to get one of these again.
  8. I think the main problem with train sets is that for the last few years the majority of them are attached to other themes. Apart from one or two which are all direct sets. Lego could really make a train theme work it just needs the right marketing and attention. Hopefully next year will have a few trains like the Santa Fe sets.

    Hobbies

Well apart from LEGO my other hobbie is playing Guitar. However sometimes it get neglected when I get a load of bricks out. I also really enjoy watching films with friends. Something about seeing films with others really enhanced the experience.
  10. For me its pointless play features. Flick fire missiles and catapults to me are pointless. I also don't really understand why they exist? When I was first starting out with LEGO about 17 years ago, I didn't need silly missiles to have fun. I used my imagination and used my hand to make minifigures jump. If LEGO lasted 45 years without these things surely it could last another 45 without them.
  11. My one problem with this theme is the time frame at which sets are released. In the UK we get the first wave January 1st and the second around the end of April. I know it makes sense get the comic/TV sets out in the winter and the Movie sets just before the films are released. It's just such a long wait then from April back to January. I know this year we got the Spider-man set but one set isn't really a wave. I think it would be a easier to split the winter wave in half 3 about October/ September and the rest in January. It just breaks the wait up a little if we got the same amount of sets in 3 waves. Or even a 3rd wave with brand new sets I wouldn't complain .
  12. I remember watching some of the special features on origins and his routine is crazy. He gets up at 5 everyday has a large protein shake has a 4 hour work out, then films some of the film, then works out again and finally goes to sleep at 8 I think? It's insane I can't imagine doing that 7 days a week for like 8 months.
  13. I think it suits him bring smaller than Savage. He seems a lot more like the Emperor, calm and collective until the time is right. Savage now looks a lot more like Vader, still smart but more bulkier and a lot more of an enforcer. I like these new legs Mauls slowly turning back to how he used to be. Hopefully he will get a double lightsaber again.
  14. Hmm strange... Well I think Lego will have always more than 1000 of each invade of damage during shipping or invade a case is lost during shipping. However that aside it looks strange how he's only selling those figs nothing else ever. I suppose his friends could keep biding them up and leaving the feedback but eBay would have caught on to the act by now hopefully. Maybe the guy works at the con for lego or could have got given or even stolen a back up box. Even then I can't see all the figures being mixed up, surely Lego would box all Bizarros together. I would most likely guess that it's either someone producing fakes or someone who has 10 friends each with 10 accounts that keep buying them by accident trying to increase bids. Either way it seems fishy in both situations.
  15. When looking at sellers I find it very useful to see what they have sold prior. You can usually tell what's real and what's fake for example if the seller is selling a comic con minifigure, and some of his other items for sale are a limited edition SDCC bust or a Exculsive variant of an action figure (SDCC Exculsive ) then I would be safer buy those figs. However just because someone has a lot of the same doesn't their fake. He could have gone to SDCC with 8 friends with him being the only Lego fan. They all enter the raffle thinking they would have more of a chance at winning one. They win multiple of each. So they give them to the one fan and he doesn't want 5 copies of each so sells some on eBay. I have seen custom ones on eBay that were machine printed but were advertised as custom and sold for about $35 each. I don't think there's any sure way of being sure what your buying on eBay, but you can always get money back if you believe it's fake. Sure you may have to through a court though.
  16. Well it wasn't a bad film but it had a fair share of terrible. Like making Sabretooth and Wolverine brothers, Gambit didn't really have much point to him, what happened to Deadpool and the cliche action moments. I think my main problem with the film Is it didn't really need to be told. We already learned about what happened in X2, although not in as much detail. The best analogy about the film I've ever seen is " the X-men all go together to make a cake, and that cake is delicious. Wolverine is the icing which finishes the cake. You can have cake without and with icing, but if you have just icing you end up feeling sick." I have to admit I can watch the film and I don't mind it but it was a let down in my opinion.
  17. Last year at New York comic con did we just get pictures of the Batcave or did LEGO show off any other superheroes stuff? Also given the trend of last year do you guys think we will be getting ultra rare minifigures at toy fair.
  18. I hope that Marvel introduce a few more superheroes into the cinematic universe that aren't Main Avengers. There should t be a problem since they own a lot of the rights now. I would love to see the New Avengers or secret Avengers make an appearance aswell. We could easily get Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Daredevil in there. I could easily see a scene on the Helicarrier where Stark sees them and says " who are these wanna be's" followed by fury replying " your not the only team of superheroes, what you didn't think I would risk the whole of humanity on you without a backup?".

  20. Marvel and Disney can always buy the licence back. Although I think they will most likely hope that development just breaks down and they get the licence back for free. Marvel don't really need the rights back to use the Character however. They could maybe strike a deal with FOX or Sony to use the character. After all the Avengers is one of the biggest movies ever. It would surprise me if FOX wanted to try and get in on some of that money. I know it's a bit of a lame ending but if the first class X-men do go to the future they may screw something up in time that may cause there universe to merge with the Cinematic one. I know it sounds terrible and shouldn't ever be made but, it would be a nice easy way to get the X-men in the main universe while FOX retain the rights. I also heard that due to FOX the X-men haven't really been integrated a lot recently with other characters in the Marvel universe. Off course AvX is happening now but they haven't really been suing a lot with Spidey or Avengers. I think Marvels long term strategy is to get all licences back. Not just for a shared universe but they must be pretty pissed off for some of the crap there characters have been involved in. X3,both FF,DD Wolverine,Electra, Spider-man 3 and ghost rider 1/2. It's pretty damaging to a character when they become lost in a turd of a film.
  21. I don't remember either of those two flying the B.A.T, however Selina Kyle did drive the Batpod throughout the climatic battle. There's always a chance of getting her thrown in. After looking at sets there's still Arkham which will also unbalance the numbers so I still expect another Marvel set to come out as either a TRU or Direct Exculsive.
  22. Ye since his appearance in Ironman he's exploded as a fan favourite. He's an under cover agent posing as Peter Parker's high school principle in Ultimate Spider-man. I understand why he died but I wish he hadn't been killed of so soon into the cinematic universe. That said I don't mind him being revived as long as its not done stupidly. I would love for them to keep him dead until the second Avengers film. Then have a couple if Avengers die and then have someone take the infinity Gaunlet and make it so that everyone who was involved or in the Avengers be revived. Thus bringing back agent Coulson. Not sure about him becoming Vision however seems a bit unlikely and I wouldn't want he to become anything other than what he was previously. As an agent he had a certain charm and wit about him.

  24. It's not just the scene that's the problem. Although Disney have said sorry for changing it and have said that they didn't mean to change the UK version. It was only meant to be altered in one country in Europe ( Can't remember which one) but accidently happen to the UK one aswell. But my main issue Is the lack of care around the UK version when compared to USA and Canada. In The USA the DVD gets lots more features like directors commentary and a full length fearurette. Where as all of the 'special features' the UK get have all been put on Marvel's YouTube account. All the deleted scenes are up there, which when you really look at it your really only paying for 2 things that haven't been released on Marvel's YouTube. The film and the one shot, which is really not worth £16.99 which in dollars is $27.57. Which is just a rip off, it's a disgrace when you consider that it's the third highest grossing film ever. The product on a whole just looks rushed, which is such a shame since its one of my favourite movies. I'm also not the only one who feels like this at the time of writing the majority of reviews on Amazon.co.uk are all one star (137). To me it really does seem like a kick in the teeth.
  25. Nope nothing that wasn't put up on Marvel's YouTube account before the film was released. The only new thing is the Marvel one shot item 47.
