I agree as well. Although I always keep some money away incase of a promotion or special event. May the fourth this year was a great example of why we should plan ahead. Also although the preliminary pictures indicate if the set may be good or not I won't make my mind up on just them.

Tim Grayson? Dick Drake? Huh? Which Robin? Cheap DLC's...
Sam892 replied to Tim13's topic in Culture & Multimedia
As far as I can tell Lego intended the Robin figure to be based on Tim Drake, the suit was worn by him in the 90's I think. Tt games got confused and labeled him as Dick Grayson. Nightwing could use the Robin suits in the first Batman game as well, I think it's just because he was Robin a long time ago. -
Since marvel have required some rights back I would love to see a couple of them make appearances in the new TV show. I could certainly see a gritty secret avengers in the show with Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and maybe a Punisher cameo.

I read on FBTB that it's been pushed back until Spring next year. It's a shame that it won't be out until after Christmas but on the bright side its given me and some others the chance to get a bit more Lego this year.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Sam892 replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think to even more of an extent that the UCS sets are not aimed at kids. Kids want play features and the ability to play, and interact with a set. Due to the scale and design of most UCS sets its difficult for a child to play with. Lots of the models are mainly used for display such as the ships, and those with minifigures come with ships so large that to a child they might as well be bolted to the table. I think the reason that Prequel UCS sets don't seem to sell is a mixture of problems. The first is that the main audience for prequel stuff is kids. This is due to the clone wars and that the prequels seem more aimed at younger audiences. Most of the UCS sets contain a high age rating in difficultly(14+). This high age rating can scare of parents who are the ones buying these sets for kids. If they see a large price tag, a high age rating and not a lot to keep them occupied with, then they will pick up something more kid friendly. The other problem I think prequel UCS sets face is what the model is. LEGO could have made some better choices. I'm sure a UCS pod racer or Jedi Interceptor would sell great but Obi Wan's star fighter wasn't the best option. -
Remember that the prelim pics won't really show us much they won't have pictures of new figs and the sets will be prototypes.

It would be interesting to see how a TMNT theme would be done. It doesn't seem the right time for this theme in my opinion however. The cartoon series ended long ago and the Micheal Bay film is in trouble at the moment. Still would be good to see some turtle power though.

So I'm guessing the next summer wave will be mostly ROTJ, AOTC and ROTS with a couple of clone wars. Seems start to release a lot of CW stuff mid season.

That's the old phase II Mold from 2005. Lego will remake the Helmet as its quite dated like the 2001 version of the phase I. The new Mold would not have the hole in the front of the helmet which creates the visor, this is so that the new helmet will look complete and so a flesh face can be inside.
-
I think a helmet on the ARF trooper will be a new print. After all LEGO will want to Give us as many reasons to buy the set. The last two ARFs were based on Mace windu's squad ( Lightning) and Plo Koon's ( Wolf Pack ). As this is based on Skywalkers squad it will most likely have blue markings. The only thing that throws me off a little bit is why Yoda would be in the set? It seems a bit strange which although unlikely could point to a future episode of CW. I don't remember Yoda having a squadron but it could be any range of colours since he just seems to borrow Clones. Anyway I doubt that the ARF will have be used else where as LEGO love to put 'NEW' all over the box art. The only Figure in the set that might not be 'New would be Yoda as LEGO could get away with using the Mold again.

After seeing the Dark red Rangefinders and Visors in this years battle pack we will hopefully get a orange and blue set next year. Especially since we're getting 501st and 212th troopers in sets.

Last year there was a big rumour going round of a Droid Factory set featuring Poggel the lesser and was based on the 2nd Season of CW. I think maybe if this set did exist that it was held back a year for the 3D release of Ep II. With a couple of minor changes of course to make it EP II based ( non CW faces and different figs). Does anyone else think this is possible? The rumoured set was on a lot of websites and then it just disappeared? Strange.

Community Build: SW Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Sam892 replied to Oky's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Sign me up too please Oky, Revenge of the Sith is one of my Favourite Star Wars films. -
Leia was released in the Y-wing set back in January. Don't know why they released her in a set? Maybe LEGO thought the Y-wing wouldn't sell without a main character.

Looking at the line up of figures in the next wave in guessing that the Clone trooper Battle pack will be both a 501st Phase II and a 212th Phase II trooper. Mainly because of next years big focus on the Umbaran arc. In the Sets I'm guessing that a couple of those clones maybe Fives and Hardcase.

Just purchased Palpatines Arrest finally and got some parts from the PAB wall to extend it.
-
They could always make them like they have done with the new Ninjago powered ninjas. Make them from Maresk blue or a light blue with white printing.
-
Or what they do is make a Yoda vs Sidious set with the ability to connect multiple buys of the set together. then put the senators in a different set like maybe some on a landing platform or something. Throw Bail Organ in with his Airspeeder in the Yoda/Sidous set and the Altrenate office Palpatine seems to have. Hopefully the Palpatines arrest set becomes the Jabba's palace of the Preqels .

It's a Toys R Us exculsive but it's marked there to £80 where at the Lego store and Shop@home it's £60. I know it's short notice but tomorrow for the first hour of the day in the UK Lego brand Stores are offering AFOLs 15% off for the first hour of there operating day. I was planning to pick up Palpatines arrest tomorrow for £50.99.

They would be a good set of figures, however Lego would have to either reuse the old Yoda head piece ( which is outdated now compared to some of the new highly detailed printed heads), use the Clone Wars version ( which would be terrible) or make a new Mold and use it further down the line. Although I would love Ghost Jedi figures I think Lego would look at the PT at the moment with all the 3D releases and Clone Wars. Thinking about it they could include a Flesh (before getting fried) Darth Sidious or even looking at ghost figures, hologram figures? Maybe a hologram Palpatine or Leia.

I got back from Reading Festival last Monday and am listening to my two of my favourite bands Greenday and Foo fighters I hadn't listened to them for about a month but seeing them live got me listening again. Also listening to a bit of Paramore, The cure, Weezer and my other Favourite band the Beatles.

After seeing Palpatines Arrest it certainly isn't the best location set but I hope Lego continue to make them. I'm hoping for a Jedi council room and a few add ons to Palpatines Arrest. Maybe a senate room and a couple of corridors. One of the other locations I would love would be Dexter Jetster's dinner now that they have the Mold for Pong Krell they should get their money's worth.

I can't help but wonder what the figure in next years visual dictionary is. I mean they have done all they could with the celebration figures ( Luke, Han and Leia). Maybe Lego will start on the prequels now, maybe a Episode one or two C-3po or a Jango Fett?

Over the weekend I picked up the new desert skiff for £20 at Tesco over the weekend which is £5 off. Also I hope everyone's remembered that this Saturday AFOLs get 15% off for the first hour of opening at the Lego Store.
