Well I watched the Avengers in Blu-ray tonight and I'm very disappointed with the UK release. Not many special features, no commentary, and they changed one of the scenes as well. It's a bit of a joke really, guess I'm just going to have to import a American special edition suit case version in the spring. So in conclusion to anyone in the UK just import one from the US as our watered down version deserves to sit on the shelves.

Not sure about the guy hired to make the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Some of his other films have been questionable. Guess we will have to wait and see. On another note I was thinking that after The Avengers have dealt with the next Villian I would love to see a civil war storyline for the third movie. It would be really nice to see a full blown war between two groups of heroes on the big screen.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Sam892 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think that's one of the reasons that LEGO didn't make a Coulson figure for The Avengers sets. He gets a lot more action roles in the Ultimate Spider-man cartoon, where as in the film the only action scene they could include him in would be pretty violent for a kids playset. I'm glad that the ultimate spider-man sets have normal faces I was a little bit worried about them being like CW figs. Also Ultimate Spider-man sets might be the next best way of us getting another Hulk figure, he's already appeared in two episodes. -

I don't think it will be Iron-man 3 after all the film comes out later on in the year. I'm guessing it will be 'catch up set' featuring parts from both previous films. Maybe a couple of old suits ( Mark I and Mark II, suit case suit and maybe a mark III) will most likely include Pepper, Hogan, Rhodes, Stain and Tony. I'm guessing it will also have empty spaces in the hall of armour for future suits. -

I'm not to sure on this but I'm guessing that both winter and summer waves all have been given set numbers. Maybe Marvel 3 wasn't ready for the winter wave and has been held back for the summer wave, being replaced by marvel 4. Although by the looks of things now there's 4 DC sets and 3 Marvel with one set missing. -

Totally agree. I think that out of the whole Superheroes line there's only 5 characters I can think off that need the larger Mold. Hulk, Wendigo, Abomination, Juggernaut and Solomon Grundy. Apart from those I think that the rest of the figures need to be normal sized. The thing about the set names however is although they sound rubbish I can except them apart from Marvel 4. Hopefully it's not a board game and is an actual set but why add the 4? Unless there's another marvel set? Strange. -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

I'm guessing the Marvel 4 set will most likely be a X-men set. I'm hoping for a blackbird or Mansion but at that price I don't think it will happen. I think it will most likely be something like the helicarrier breakout. -
I'm having an ongoing battle with customer services at the moment with certain Superhero parts. I bought the cosmic cube set back in April and two days later when on display Ironmans heels had cracked. Lego replaced the part but the same happen again and when I got the quinjet it happened again. The problem is as I've been having trouble with other sets from star wars and what not they don't believe me anymore. I'm trying to convince them to take the faulty ones back and then send me new ones.

I'm guessing that 76006 will be Arkham then. What's Superheroes Marvel 4? I haven't heard anything about this set at all. -
When did comic books start to get aimed at adults?
Sam892 replied to lotryay's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Here where I live in the UK there's just a very small comic store and that's it. Unlike the other stores I've been to in London, my local store doesn't sell many collectibles or LEGO. I think that's part of the problem here which is unless your ordering comics over the Internet, there's nowhere in a lot of places to purchase them. I'm hoping now that people can download them on to IPhones and IPads that sales will pick up. I personally don't like getting digital copies I prefer a physical thing that I can hold. -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion
Sam892 replied to LEGOman273's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Hmm interesting... If I had to pick one to keep it would have to be Maul. After a years wait between the hint in season 3 to his return in the finale, I really want him to stick around. It would be pointless for him to be around for only a few episodes and then be killed off. As much as I hate to say it I think Opress will die. Not that he should or needs to but, I think they want to keep adding to Maul fuelled by revenge. He will most likely be killed of by Palpatine. I know it sounds strange but I could see if that did happen Ventress joining with Maul. They have similar motivations, both being strong in the dark side and could be both out for revenge against Dooku and Palpatine. Pre Visla will most likely die by Maul, there's already a hint at that in the trailer. What I could also see is everyone of those characters dying this season, that would make an incredibly dark season . -
I can't see them getting there own film. I mean Marvel has a lot to get through as it is. There's already IM3, Thor 2, Cap 2, Ant-man, GG and Maybe a new Hulk film aswell all before 2015 when Avengers 2 comes out. That's not to say I don't want to see more of them, I really liked them as characters and certainly think they need to be expanded upon. That's one of the reasons why I think they could work well in the TV series. I would rather see 10 hours of Hawkeye, Black Widow, Maria Hill and cameos of Fury and maybe Stark. My worst fear is that if they do get there own film that because their sharing the title that each story will be rushed. I would like to see the back story of both characters and how they met seen in flash backs, similar to Breaking Bad. I could see the story where they meet taking 5 mins at the front of each Episode with the conclusion at the end of the season. Also if a second season was then confirmed I could see it doing the same but focusing on either Widow before she met Hawkeye or viscera. Also I picked up the Avengers on Blu-ray today and I was thinking about what could happen with S.H.E.I.L.D in the future is interesting. I think that agent Coulson is going to be 'replaced' with agent Jasper Sitwell. He is the Bald agent with glasses and was in Thor. I'm not sure how I feel about that yet but hopefully he will not just be a Coulson clone.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion

In the Episode II visual or character dictionary it said that a gunship carrying Koth and some other Jedi was shot down. Dunno if it was in the film but it's in the EU. -

And they reserected Eeth Koth who died at the arena battle in Episode 2. Seems that canon has gone out the window at this point. I wouldn't be suprised if Anakin was killed off this season -
When did comic books start to get aimed at adults?
Sam892 replied to lotryay's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I think it was about the 70's that comic books started to become more adult themed. By the 80's lots of comics had abandoned the comics code. The 80's certainly introduced more violent anti heroes that will kill without hesitation like Wolverine. Lots of comics had pushed the limits in the past with the odd story arc about drugs and whatnot but it was rare. -
I find the best head to use is Elizabeth Swan from POTC theme. The face looks a lot like Scarlet Johanson when on the Black Widow torso and with the hair. I will try to post some pics tomorrow. Edit: looks like WallE2624 had the same idea and beat me to it .

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Sam892 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Since its a mixed wave we could possibly get a Marvel set shown off as well, maybe an exculsive. I can't see Marvel and DC not having equal sets in a wave ( 2 Marvel and 3 DC ). Hopefully an X-men set if there is an exculsive and not another Spider-man set, the bext wave might aswell drop the superheroes name. Just call it 'the Batman and Spider-man show' with this weeks Special guest 'Aquaman' in 'a fish out of water'!. -
Well Renner said in an interveiw that he wasn't pleased with how Hawkeye was in Avengers, he said that he hasn't had a proper backstory like the other members and was a mindless zombie for most of the film. It would be great to him get more than just a cameo in a film. That way aswell we can find out what happens to Hawkeye and Black Widow between Avengers 1 and 2.

There could be a strong possibility that the new TV series will star Black Widow and Hawkeye. After all they are important to the Cinematic Universe but are not getting there own films.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Sam892 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Aquaman would most likely be in a Batman set, I can't see a Aquaman set selling well among kids. Also if Ultimate Spider-man does end after 2 seasons then it will be interesting to see what LEGO do with Spidey. Whether they look at producing comic based sets and throw in some other characters ( FF or DD ), or try to obtain the Amazing Spider-man licence. -
Exactly all the images that have been shown are priminaries. As such we could get anything and we will only have to wait and see. Seeing these prototype set pictures is like watching Avengers without the special effects. We all need to see more before we can call sets rubbish.
-
Does anyone know where the Ultimate Spider-man set is available in the UK? I've seen it at Lego.com but not in any stores. Is it exculsive to one store or Just not easy to come by?
-
I think it's great we're getting a SWTOR battle pack. It shows that LEGO is taking the rest of the universe seriously. Sure we got a force unleashed set a while back but really until this summer wave it's really been the same old set up. It's always been a couple of new CW, a couple of new OT and a load of remakes or Jedi starfighters.
-
Same here over the past 13 years lego has always really produced ships. Apart from a few location play sets there is a little bit of a void whee those sets should be. However after seeing Jabbas palace and Palpatines arrest this year I have a lot of faith that we will start getting areas important to the saga. After all how many more X-wings and Millenium Falcons can Lego Keep turning out.
-
I think they go in waves while the New series is on the TV ( Spring ) then Lego mainly release CW sets. Just look at the most recent wave of sets, there was only 3 CW sets in it the rest were from the film series. In fact this years summer wave has been the most varied I've ever seen; 2 Old Republic sets 3 Clone Wars sets 2 Prequel sets 2 original sets Plus 3 original planet sets. And if you look at the winter wave from 2012 we got 5 original sets, 1 Prequel set and 2 Clone Wars.
