  1. You are making progress! The shapes of your cars are pretty good now, but I'm not fond of the bodywork, and not only because of the colors. You are mixing studded plates with studless parts, and not in a very good way. Don't try so hard to fill all the gaps in the model with whatever pieces you can find. If you really don't want to leave any gaps, build fully studded models. Sorry for the negative critique.
  2. Actually, these laws seem to be very universal As far as I know, these laws are derived from causality. And causality is something that is the most essential thing in how we sense and describe anything in existence. It's essential as 1+1=2. For flying cars: I think levitation wouldn't require any energy. It's the same as putting something on the shelf.
  3. Making posts can be done in a few minutes, or even seconds, and even when you are not at home.
  4. Actually, I think the energy is "added" to the system by moving the attracting parts away from each other. Sure, if a magnet was never next to the iron, no energy is "added" in that sense, but as soon as they start to approach each other, you'll have to put energy to the system to move them apart again. The emphasis is there, because the motion is an essential thing here.
  5. Simple, when I get bored of it... Lego as a hobby is tiring and frustrating for be, because I suck at Technic. Building simple stuff takes very much effort and time. Comparing myself with Piterx for example makes me want to quit. (EDIT: of course, I get real high when something is successful) I always thought my technical abilities are outstanding, I'm a mechanical engineer now, but Technic was the last and strongest proof that I could be at best a medicore engineer. On the positive side, I do think I'm good with "design", so my models look pretty cool, proportions of my models are good without much effort. I had some pretty serious hobbies before, they were all life-defining activities, and they all got out of my life and I feel no remorse. For example: -astronomy -music. Played on the drums in a band. I was so high from music for about 5 years that I can't even express. -art -paper modelling -game programming (if anyone interested, you can check some stuff on my youtube channel). On day, I may end up in Mongolia as a shepherd, or in Siberia as a lumberjack. Yup, we got a bit deep here...
  6. I don't know about "all", but a street supercar version of the thumbler could be cool. And I would love to see a telescopic handler with a self levelling pallet fork, and with a flawless manual crab/normal/all-wheel steering.
  7. THIS is the most original. I don't get why so few have commented on this. The Terimator-Sarge robot looks and works awesome, the setting is awesome, this is the best entry (besides mine of course )
  8. Thanks for the comments! The pullback motor is this one: (6024100)
  9. Who would decide what the "interfaces" of the modules would be like? Who would be the project lead: the person to decide what features to give up in favour of what features? Who will be the art lead deciding on the overall design? (studdless, studfull, or both, what parts need to be fully detailed, what parts don't have to be detailed, etc). Sounds like an awesome idea though, we will see what it turns out. I won't join, since I already have my own supercar ideas.
  10. The entry is finished and added to the entry topic. Link to the entry: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=87611entry1751393
  11. Wind-up Insects Working insect models using the new pullback motors for propulsion. These shy creatures are very hard to find, they live in hiding mostly in deserted industrial areas. The Crab : Model Functions: -working legs -wind up propulsion, or towing -posable arms Specifications: -part count: 499 -size: 18 x 31 x 15,5 cm (widest, arms retracted) The Dragonfly Model Functions: -working contra-flapping wings -wind up propulsion -posable head Specifications: -part count: 414 -size: 46 x 41 x 10,5 cm The Caterpillar Model Functions: -crawling -wind up propulsion, or towing -can be rolled up Specifications: -part count: 495 -size: 36,5 x 23,2 x 10,5 cm (without rear spike) About the models: The wind up functionality is achieved by two one-way clutches, one preventing the pullback motor to go off, one preventing the functionality to work (legs/wheels or wings) while winding-up. The winding-up works by pulling an axle which makes the wind-up gear mash with the gear of the main drive shaft. Rotating the axle adds energy to the pullback motor. By pushing the axle back, the wind-up gear releases the main drive shaft and the model starts moving. 12. Awesome entry, awesome video, winter, snowing, the music matches the happenings, can be the winner entry. so I hate you
  13. Wheel size and fake engine size.
  14. Hmmm. The jet-ski from the previous contest would almost fit
  15. If would put one of the bigger models on the table at work, I would find myself laughed at and under a disciplinary proceeding... Anyway, a trainee girl at the company heard that I build Lego stuff, her first question was "it is Technic?". So there are many interested chicks around the world. And of course my girl meets all the criteria above, plus she loves Star Wars and The fifth element. So I win
  16. 2-3 weeks of holiday for me. 1. No set. 2. Maybe some MOCing but not much. 3. No sorting, no cleaning. 4. gonna read a few new comments, this forum is not so fast going 5. spending time with the big family, chilling, playing board games or not, eating like crazy, etc. To sum it up: the holidays will not be about Lego for me.
  17. Once I showed an image of the red coupé MOC to a colleague s of mine. He said: "If you think that's cool... " So go for her!!!!11
  18. When will the voting start? If we are not lucky, brickshelf.com can keep folders not public for days. Obviously one can deeplink pictures, but sometimes 10 images and low-quality videos are not enough to show all the beautiful details and settings (which is a key feature of this contest), and this can make a big difference in the end.
  19. Hmm, I use very similar-to-eachother windup modules for my models, but apart from that, they are completely different. I also though that using a similar (my first conception was using exactly the same units) module but building 3 totally different models form that adds to the coolness.
  20. Are you sure LDD is not running already? If you start LDD, THEN try to double click on a .lxf file in your file browser, you get this error. Either close LDD, or open the file from it.
  21. You could try simple elongated horizontal lights, like on the rear.
  22. That's awesome! I don't want to sound negative, but which features will you sacrifice if not everything can be fitted in that crane? How long would you go in modding Lego parts?
  23. Hmm, I envy you guys that you have enough time in a month to finish something good. Or have the time to be well-timed. Because of the contest that's ongoing for more than a month now and I entered early, my life has been messed up a bit, just to be able to finish the entry in time.
