In 1988 Futuron came out. The Space theme after the Classic Space sets had more colours and figures with more details. When I had the chance to buy this monorail set for 50 EUR, I couldn't let it go. Even greater luck came upon me: there where other Futuron and Blacktron sets included. But I'm here to talk about the 6990. Now, I have finally taken pictures of it. If I have to give one word to this set it would be: supermegaawesome. Yes. So, let's start with the box. It's big, but not as big as today sets from the same price/size. It shows a picture of the important parts and two small pictures: an overall picture and a picture of the 9V-system. In the second picture you can see how good they editted their pictures in those days, the spaceman has a half leg! The figures are awesome, although I loved it a bit more if LEGO would have put a black one in it, but I guess those were special. Two blue and three yellow spacemen is what you get. And a small spacescooter. The monorail is, offcourse, the most important and greatest part of the set. It looks very good and futuristic, just the way we love our Space-sets. When you put the monorail on it does not only ride, the little red light goes on and if you turn it, it will flash on and off. The first part of the monorail has place for one seat, and it has guns or lights on it. In the back of the first part there are two places: one the put the spacescooter in it and a second one for tools. The second part, where the 9V-battery is, has place for about three spacemen. The middle part of the monorail is where the rotation-system stands, here you can see how it works: There are two bases in the Monorail Transport System-set. The first on is situated 'in the air', higher than the second one and it has 32x16 plate beneath it. You can let the monorail turn and you can also load boxes on the monorail on this base. The second base stands on a grey 32x32 baseplate. Here you can also let the monorail turn. It has a nice system where you can turn the base open and where also can upload boxes (it turns forward when you turn the base open). I'll show you some pictures of this system: It isn't done yet! The 6990 also includes a bigger spacescooter to carry around boxes. Some pictures of the track: Here is a picture of the turning-system explained. When you turn a brick (on the turn-tracks) the track pushes a piece of the middle part away: Three alternative creations: And here it is, the set in its full glory! Like I said before, this set is supermegaawesome. I wouldn't want to sell it for any price at this time. If you see it for a cheap price, you shouldn't hesitate to buy it. The 6990 Monorail Transport System includes special elements: the monorail itself, the dark trans-blue windows, the monorailtrack and so on. It has nice figures and vehicles, the bases are build futuristic and just the way they had to be. This set offers so much to a LEGO Space fan. I hope you enjoyed the review of this "golden oldie".

Really nice, I like the scenery very much. The dwarf is also nice. Are you planning to make more in these series?

Thanks. Well, in the beginning I took the game as example, but now I am more using my own fantasy and thoughts. The next update will be there when I have ordered pieces again.

Hello and welcome to Eurobricks. I hope you will have a great time here! You have some nice creations, I really like your Batpod.

Thanks. I would love to do one, but the problem is it would be situated in the rocks, beneath the castle itself. So it wouldn't be so practical to make that. Maybe, when the castle is done, I'll make an apart Chamber of Secrets to put it next to it, and other scenes not situated "in the castle".

Thanks. Here's an overview: http://www.flickr.com/photos/30479264@N06/3177154006/

Thanks! Here's, for now, the last batch: http://www.flickr.com/photos/30479264@N06/3174986916/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/30479264@N06/3174987200/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/30479264@N06/3174987056/

This is just great, I love it. This proof castles don't have to be huge to be great. This modular castle is very lovely, it has almost something cute. The mini horses are also very refreshing. Nice work, I would love to see more of these things!

Thanks guys for those nice reactions, it encourages me. What a huge coincidence, SirNadroj, I'm looking forward to your MOC. Maybe, if I have made the enemies I'll try something too. I didn't knew that, Body Wars, seems like a cool ride. The problem is that I don't own any normal Mars Mission sets, I have the two first Impulses, so only one spaceman. Maybe I'll buy a few more, or perhaps trying to get my hands on a bigger MM set (so I'll have those parts in colors to make ships or something alike). This is nice, very well done!

Thanks. With BeLUG, on clubdays in the evening, we do lots of fun things. Including buying loose pieces in big boxes. I found a pair of those legs in it and I put them in my bag of bricks to buy. But I really don't know in which set they came. I'll start a search. =) EDIT: found it! http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=970c00pb35

I'll introduce you to two new Blacktron figures and a Body Miners figure. Body Miners? While I was sorting last week I found some interesting legpieces, so I tried them out with my two Blacktron figures: Then Body Miners... I wanted to make something new, based on a real LEGO theme. In Body Miners people shrink themselves to investigate human's bodies and protect the body against evil virusses and disseases. There's a special team of men who've signed themselves up to do this work: the Body Miners. There should also be a few enemies; I'll make them later. Update: I've made the opponents of the Body Miners. They are the Viruses. But if somebody comes up with a good name for them, I'd love to hear it. Update

Thanks. The title says 1945 because that is the setnumber of the Surveillance Scooter.

This set was released in 1996, it was the first 'formula 1'-racecar you could get in a little box. Before this one was released, you only got these racers in big sets. It has about 34 pieces and one minifigure. The minifigure is exactly how it had to be, simple but awesome. He is wearing a red racing suit, what a fine torso! His head was much used in the Classic Town sets. On to the racecar itself. It is very simple, but it really doesn't have to be more. It looks very realistic, as far LEGO can be realistic, and it isn't as bulky and big as today's sets. The pieces are printed, three Octan tiles and three slope pieces with the number '4' on it.

This little space scooter was released in 1995 in the Spyrius Space theme. Spyrius was at that time the evil group of spacemen at that time. It contains 17 parts and one minifigure. The minifigure is, in my eyes, the best of this little set. It's my only Spyrius minifigure and I can't say I don't like him. He's got a torso that shows some muscles, like it's a latex suit he's wearing... His equipment exists of a helmet, an airtank and one walkie-talkie. With in a few seconds you've built the little 'Surveillance Scooter'. Actually, this isn't that interesting. It has one gun on it. Like I said, the figure is the best part of the 1954 Surveillance Scooter. The scooter doesn't impress me at all, it would be a much nice set if there would be a handgun, or such a metal detector included.

Here we go again! This project has been blown into life again. I have made a new boathouse, but that one was beautiful but way to big. So I broke it down again and build this one, it's almost three time as small as the second one, but better. I have made some WIP pictures, that aren't so WIP, but rather pictures to get your attention. I'll upload a WIP of the whole thing a bit later. This is placed on a 48x48 baseplate. Comments? ^^

Photo & Video Review - LEGO Racers 8183 Track Turbo RC
Matn replied to dieselboy m's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for this very nice review. I think this set is awesome, great parts and what a good RC model. It's a bit lame that there is such a big piece included, but if that's the only way to introduce the RC, than it's fine. I like it. But it's way overpriced considering its price, so I won't buy this if it costs so much. Thanks again. -
That's a small set, but a beauty, especially the nice minifigure in it. Thanks for the review. Do you mind if I review the Shell raft set, or are you planning on reviewing it?

Nice review. Hehe. I got four of these, I got them for free a few months ago. But I haven't opened them (yet).

Sideline Scenes: Rules & Discussion

Congratulations to the winners. It was a fun contest. ^^ -
It looks awesome, already. The castle is beginning to look nice, but what I really like at this moment is the environment, the lake with a tower in it and the rocks, it looks just great. Keep up the nice work!

Amazing! I like it. Well, it's a dark magician who made a whirlwind/tyfoon.
-
I have both, so I'll make a comparison of the two. But I don't have a camera for the moment, I'll buy one this weekend or next week. So, if you are willing to wait a little bit I'll do it. Unless somebody else is faster.

I voted for Eti's entry because I really like the picture, great angle, and the washmachine. And the use of those old plates is awesome.

I wanted to do something to kill the time in the vacation, so here it is. The concept is simple, I'll be making adjustments to a shore near a river I made, an each adjustment will be a step in time forwards. I don't already know if I would bring in some 'non-realistic' things like magic or to keep it like something that could have been happened... So, what do you think? Two monks reach a place, it's a swamp and a forest, so the perfect place to make a new abbey. (This is based on the legend of Sint-Bertinus. Bertinus let go a boat on the river and the place where it stranded, there they made Saint Omer, a village in France.) http://www.flickr.com/photos/30479264@N06/
