    LEGO Hogwarts

It is based on the fifth movie-videogame. And as told earlier: I won't make it on scale (would be impossible), but it will look like the castle in that game and as described in the books. I am now making plans and saving money for the project, so it could be placed on a 'hold'. I'm very interested in those pictures and more information (like your thoughts and experiences), you can mail it to me or add me on MSN Messenger: mattimeurisse[at]hotmail[dot]com.
  2. I like the theme very much, but sadly, I don't own any sets of it. It brings such a great feeling, it's fresh and has great parts and sets. And it brought the polar bear! Your review is very good and informative, thanks! (I voted wrong, I meant above average, but I clicked below average )
  3. I thought of this movie with toys that can walk and speak Thursday, and within an hour they'll show Small Soldiers, that's the movie I thought of last week. So: Small Soldiers.
  4. A bit later than planned, here are two new figures. (Yes, there is a lack of new torso's, but I only can hope that will change soon) Arthur Weasley, now image him with a brown hat, the one from the Castle 'Robin Hood' sets. James Potter, in the period when Harry was young.
  5. I don't have that much spiders in my room, but when I see one I just grap it and I put it outside. They are handy to keep the flies away, but I don't have flies in my room, so. And yes, if you clean your room once in a while, you won't have spiders.
  6. I don't think we will see this in Belgium, but I have to say: they look pretty nice, like action figures. Yes, it isn't the real deal, but it isn't based on LEGO Batman, it's based on LEGO Batman: the videogame.
  7. That's indeed a fine set. I also was about to buy a Megablocks set (the planes and cars), but I could get it out of my mind. My father wanted those Probuilder series, but I said: they are almost made out of one part and I can make that also with LEGO. And I will stay with the LEGO brick, but the urge to buy some Megablocks sets will always be there. But I just don't want to mix LEGO with others, and I want to keep the good quality of LEGO. It sounds weird, but I just can't buy other brands. You should know for yourself want you want to do with it, indeed: it's cheaper and they have cool sets, but you can always make your own cool planes or cars. You can order the bricks you need or those that look like the ones in the F1 car and search for the building instruction, or you can just use your fantasy. Yes, it wil cost more: but the result will be way nicer than the Megablocks version, it will be sturdy and it will look better, and, above all: it's LEGO. Sometimes I don't understand that, because for me, Megablocks is the same like the custom pieces some people make. It isn't LEGO.
  8. My congratulations to the three winners, I hope you'll like this set. And thanks to the EB-crew; these raffles are great!

    City '09?

I just noticed that the torso of the minifigure who is driving the combine harvester is this one: http://www.bricklink.com/PL/973pb298c01.jpg ,but in blue!
  10. Let's help you out, I have noticed that you have uploaded your pictures on the server of Eurobricks. You should better take an (it's totally free) account over at Brickshelf (www.brickshelf.com), there you will get your own map where you can upload pictures in different folders. So you register yourself, make a folder (for example: PirateVillage), add your commentary and you are ready to upload your pictures. If you have uploaded your pictures all you have to do is put the link of the pictures in this topic, (direct or you can wait untill the folder has been moderated by the Brickshelf-team and show us the folder at once). If you want to show us the pictures without us to have to click on it, use this: [img*]insert the link of the image here, but delete the '*'[/img*] When you are taking pictures, look if you have enough light, don't shake when taking the pictures and take few pictures at once, so you can make a choice which you want to upload (the best, offcourse). I hope I was help to you, welcome at Eurobricks!

    LEGO Hogwarts

Everybody: thanks. Sandy, yes, offcourse, the castle is way to big to build it like it is, I wouldn't be able to afford that. Like: the stairs from the courtyard to the boathouse will be a lot shorter! I won't do any interior for now, maybe in the Great Hall. I'm also looking forward to your comic, which fansite is it? Have you won the bidding? I'm not really searching for the sets, but when they fall in my hands I'll certainly buy them, for now I'm just buying tan and grey. And yes, in the game there is a boat house. When you go down the stairs from the courtyard in front of the great hall, you will end by the boat house.
  13. And I can't really think of a reason why is should be continued. Not that they were bad sets, not at all (with exception of the red truck), I don't own any of them, but I will buy them eventually. They can't put the same cars in an other style in new sets. It was a fine serie, with cool cars.

    LEGO Hogwarts

It will be almost completely like the game, but offcourse: it can't be that big so I will just use my fantasy in some cases. Thanks for the nice comments so far.
  15. I have started a building-project all in the theme of Harry Potter. I am still making my purist figures, which will be displayed on the castle in different scenes from the books and the movies. So, the goal is to make Hogwarts (the school of Wizardry) (was based on the fifth Harry Potter-game) and now based on mainly my fantasy. I already have ordered lots af tan (well, it isn't that much, as it seems), but I need much and much more! The castle itself is the main goal, but the buildings around it (Hagrid's Hut, the Owlery, the trees etc.) are also on my list of to-do. When I have builded a part, I will update this post. I really hope I can get further with this project, and I will have something to show on the meetings of BeLUG, the Belgian club. -------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: 18th of April 2009: -------------------------------------------------------- I would love it to read commentary and tips! General updates: - I've made first a boathouse which was in a too big scale, there are no more pictures of it. - 21/05/09: processing the second part: done for 50%.

  17. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/lokosupe...ay/p1000920.jpg That's the start of Agents, it are the same sets as now. Yes, everything at once would be so confusing, and it would be too much at once. It's even now too much at once! :D
  18. Can't the guy just load everything up in a ZIPfile
  19. 2009 will be a great year, I'll buy all the City sets and it will be the first year I want them all. Hooray for farming! Hooray for the massive and detailed construction-sets!
  20. This is a great idea, thanks CopMike! Here we go.
  21. Last week I bought 8143: Ferrari F430 Challenge 1:17 for 20 EUR, so I bought two and 7784: The Batmobile: Ultimate Collectors' Edition for 40 EUR. And I've discovered I like cars. So, I'll be building some car-moc's later. And 4939: Cool Cars for 7 euro. And my grandparents went to a market: 4915: Mini Construction, a little bag of random cool parts, Toa Jaller (he's cool!), Onua Nuva, three Knight's Kingdom Bionicle-thingies and Jack Stone vehicles (nice for the tires?). And my latest BL-order with a lot of bley and 422 tan bricks.
  22. I bought this on sunday for 5 EUR, it was a (sort of) fleamarket. With a black and a white (the old ones) motorcycle! In perfect condition. And my first Fabuland parts.
  23. Gelukkige verjaardag! =D
  24. You have made a very cool speeder with such useless parts, . Clever use of the hand truck!
  25. Congratulations!
