This is cool! I have a nice idea in my head and I will work it out for the first category. Thanks for this great contest! =D

I really like your version of the characters. Seems that, we purists, have the same ideas. It's a real shame that LEGO didn't produce the Harry Potter theme further, all those beatiful figs they missed out. Well, the theme brought us some very nice (minifig) parts! And now they come in handy. I'm looking forward to more of the characters! (and better pictures )

@Wout: no, we bought a "Star Wars-meal" and we were with four. And you got a mini-Tie with a hamburger. I also didn't got a bag at the end, but is was lame. My sister (13 years old), got one: a Meidenmagazine, a free ticket for the train and some promotion leaflets... O, and a cooky (or it was candy) and a little bottle of fruit juice.

Yes! And I'm happy with them. I now have enough guards for my PTV entry.

I'm very happy with it. The figures are in very good condition and the Forestman is new! These are the only things I bought at LEGOWORLD. And these are the goodies I got. ^^

And, do you have the job? There's a new King Jouet, not so far from me, in Bailleul. My dad went looking and told me it's a rather expensive store, but I haven't seen it with my own eyes. Do you now if there are sometimes specials or really low prices?

I will go the 18th, a saturday. It will be my first time, and many to come (I hope).

I have made a little bit progress. It has been made a bit bigger with 4 studs in the length. Now I really need youre advice: http://www.flickr.com/photos/30479264@N06/2934723146/ I would like to know where there should be more details, if the wall needs to be thicker, if there should be a house on it, if I should make it bigger so there can me more things on it (but then I have to order bricks), etc. I'd love to read your comments on it!

Again, I am to late. Hmph. Maybe a thought to next time first let people who haven't played any mafia-game to sign up, just an idea.

That's great to read, it is definately the best Harry Potter-set ever! And it is indeed great for the parts, and the build of it.

CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions
Matn replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
I quote: Please read the first post before asking questions, this is to everybody. -
Thank you, it's very nice to read such a commentary. That's indeed the purpose of the tree, but the pirate who wants to get in to the fortress like that, will think he shouldn't have done that... I'll will update it with figures and some extras slowly, I really want the advent calendar for the figures and the accesoires to add it. And I'll have it after 18 October. Next weekend there will be an update. ^^

Thanks again. I am putting the Hogwarts project on a hold, let's say untill January-February. I would love to read tips and commentary about the WIP for EB's contest: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=345738 This is the latest version:

I will build a 4-studs wide wall, the front wall, to let them walk on and for the look out. I'll see about that look-out tower, it is a nice idea.
-
Same here! I didn't thought of that! That means I sure know what to get for my 16th birtday: one of the greatest sets ever!

There is already a topic about this amazing creation: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21793

Well, this is confusing. Now Brothers Brick have already uploaded their post about this? ...
-
The pictures are from an event, where LEGO placed this set. So it's understandable that pictures of it will show up. As long as nobody uploads the official pictures before 21.00 tonight, they shouldn't be removed. That's my opinion...

Perfection is indeed the right word for this set. It's really to beatiful for words. It will be a though year of decissions next year; and one will be: stopping with the Hogwarts project. It will become to expensive. Beautiful houses which can be fold up, new figures and faces, brown cows, brick-built chickens, a turkey, etc. etc...

Thanks! Got a little bit further today: Now I don't know which to choose: a wall where the guards can stand on the look-out, or keep it like this.
-
Thanks! I won't be that huge, maybe when I extend it for BeLUG (if I will do that). This is almost 32x32, with the SNOT base. The problem is: I won't have the right (and amount) pieces to make buildings to match with it. And the place to put it on, but when I extend it, there will be enough place. But the contest version will be 32x32.

Here are some Work In Progress pcitures for my large entry for the contest. Because of this fantastic contest I'm really getting into Pirates. I never liked it that much when I was younger, but now! That means the Hogwarts project is put on a hold untill next year, or so (January of February); and I'll be building Pirates for the next BeLUG meeting. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/MaTn/MOC...VWIP/afb011.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/MaTn/MOC...VWIP/afb014.jpg Excuse me for the low quality, it's taken with my cellphone.

Personally, I think the Skeleton Tower is great. But I don't own it, if I find it on sale, I would buy two of them: one for the set and one for the great pieces it has. And indeed, the best fortress for youre evil army of skellies, is the one you make on your own. Good luck! If you have built one, don't hesitate to show it here on Eurobricks.
