Vig. 36c Pirates are attacking a seaside village and nobody saw it comming. They're stealing all the gold they can get and they haven't got compassion with anyone. But so are the guards, they will stand their ground and kill all the intruders. The other side of the town have heard the news and now the women and children are hiding themselves in the cave, nearby the village. Unfortenately, the people nearby the shore didn't have time to hide, so their are slaughtered by the pirates. Even the governor is helping to extinguish the fire, before he runs away to his office. More pictures can be found here, http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=350040 , after moderation.

Here we go.

Thanks guys, you really made my day. I won't make new pictures because I already have broke this entry down. I need the pieces for my Large entry, this weekend I will be thinking of a medium entry. Maybe with some Islanders in it. That idea of a wall sounds really nice, a shame I didn't use it earlier. With pictures on it and a map of something. Oh, well.

That's really a fantastic creation, it's genious! Good work, Slyowl. I really like it, I am a Harry Potter fan, so it's not strange I like it. It's full of details and great techniques, it's just wonderful. Can't think of anything bad on this great creation. I just like it very much. Oh...

Thanks for this review! It's a fantastic set, and I almost like every aspect of it. However, they should have included a 16x32 blue baseplate, it really needs one.

Here you go Capt. Kirk: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=x64 I really like thes 'Betty-series', they're quite genious indeed.

It's a sad face. Thanks for the pictures. I like this set and even the baseplate, it can be attached to a blue baseplate so it looks like sand in an ocean. I really like the figures and the accesoires. But I think 20 euro for this is a bit overpriced, and that's a shame...

Today I bought: 6119 Roof Tiles And also this set, in the King Jouet: 7724 City Advent Calendar

Dream-hosting looks rather strange to me... I pay 24 euro a year for 1 GB bandwith and 100 MB a month, and I'm going to have an upgrade this month because, strangely, we are getting much visitors lately. 500 MB and 10 GB bandwith a month looks rather suspicious. I don't really know if it's real or not, but I have never seen such a low price. Maybe you could try, or look in computer magazines (there you'll find ads from hosting websites: then you know how good they are (if they can afford an advertisement) or try to get some information of friends with websites or on other computer forums. I'm not saying Dream-hosting isn't playing it right, but don't blame us if you got many costs after you registered your domain (watch the little words). Then I would search a good layout, if you have PHP maybe you could install Joomla, that's a pretty nice base for your website. Then you could look for some custom (free) layouts and you can adjust them to LEGO style and upload them. Joomla is nice to work with, I recommend it.

I bought a (cheap Squier) guitar a year ago, full of the thought that I was going to play it with ease. Yeah, rrright. Well, I try to practise twice or more a week and I am getting better and better, not that I'm good. It's a bit hard to play very often with it, with school is so hard now and, oh yes, LEGO! Oh, well. I'll see what the future brings.

That's a very nice collection you've got there! I can't say I am not jealous when I see those pictures. I also like your version of Neville, everything I like here. Planning to also buy the newest Hogwarts? And may I ask the link of that Finnish Harry Potter website?

Thanks everyone. No, it doesn't open. At first I made a door with a hinge on it, but I didn't like that so much and I figured out I wasn't going to use the open door anyway, it left it like this. Perhaps if I make some more carriages, there will be some with an open door to bring diversity.
-
I hope we'll see soon reviews of each set?
-
Thanks! I really appreciate your comments. I'll try something later tonight, to make it turn. And to show the model, I will make a photo of the carriage in Victorian style, with figures and horses. Maybe I'll post it in the History board, or would that be unnecessary? EDIT: An update of the Thestral carriage, now it turns and it has horses. I made it one stud longer, so it can turn now. http://www.flickr.com/photos/30479264@N06/3019471288/

Today I wanted to make the carriage from the beginning of the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix book. It doesn't look very exciting in the movie, so I decided to make it as described in the book (well, all it says that it has a door and Ron dissapears in the darkness of the carriage, so) Its drawn by thestrals, black thin/skelleton horses. The horses will be added later. I wanted to make it turn (in the front), but it didn't work out correctly and the other alternative looked way to long. But hower, I like it. [uPDATE @ 22/03/09]:

I would like to present a story, told with LEGO. I am having this idea now for a few days in my mind, and I really want to work it out. The original idea is to tell it in LEGO, with scenes. Not like a comic book, but just different scenes, which each represent a chapter in the story, not bigger than 16x16. Each scene will get one big picture and fore close-ups beneath the bigger one. It may be different in the future, but it is what I have in mind now. And if it works out, then I'll write the story on paper because I really need to write something new. This topic would actually fit in every LEGO theme on this board, so it had to be posted in Other Themes. I am not going to tell you everything now, the beginning will be explained with the first scene, it will all come clear then. And I would like to raise some questions with the first picture, maybe this will get you interested and curious. I hope this sounds interesting to you, and hopefully, you'll keep track on this. I will update this post with new scenes. I can't put a date on it, since I am really busy with other things. As soon as possible I would say, but I wanted to post this before it slips my mind... Any guesses, ideas what the story will be like, maybe you already think what the subject is?

What an awesome MOC! I really like it, after I saw V for Vendetta, I got interested in Guy Fawkes. This is a really nice creation, I like how the guards are comming in, one runnig to prevent the lantern from falling. Now a V for Vendetta remake of this MOC! =D

Thanks, it's nice to read that this gives a feeling of cruelty in a different way. I think the expression of the governor has to be sad, but serious. He knew what was comming, he was prepared to die. He has been sitting in his office the whole day feeling sad about his town, and feeling sad because he didn't fight with the men to defend the town. He knew he was going to die like this, so no scared 'I didn't see this comming'-face. Again, thanks, it's really nice as a builder to read such comments.

5615 The Knight 5618 Troll Warrior 5620 Street Cleaner I like them, nice addition to my Castle collection and City layout. =D

Thanks everybody. As for the torso of the governor, I'll keep it like that. The minifigure is a character on its own. Like I said, a dead guard on the floor would be nice, it was also a first idea of mine, but it would distract too much from the actual conflict between the pirate and the governor. I really like it this way. A cape would indeed be nice, I put it in consideration. As for the plumes, I don't own any of them... And yes, there isn't much contrast between the floor and the desk. I don't have other old brown tiles than the 1x4s... And the trans-green bottle is to put a little bit more contrast in the whole vignette. It would be to dark if it wouldn't be like that, I think. Again, thanks for the nice comments. I think I will keep the vignette like this and it will be my final entry.

Wow! I really laught with this one. It turned a great smile on my face! I really like Top Gear, and you captured the whole serie very well. You did a great job on the 'tv-area' and the 'Stig-pole', great job. And that minifig convertible is also very nice, it resambles very well the Cool Convertible-set.
-
It's really getting to look fantastic! I hope it will be ready for Mechelen so I can admire it.
-
Thanks! At first I was going to add a bleeding/dead guard on the floor, but I wanted to keep it very simple and 'catching' ... I don't know if I would add it, it would distract from the conflict between the pirate and the governor.

Vig. 31b When the men were killed, the women were 'loved' and the gold was gathered, there was only one thing left to do in this town... "Hello, governor!"

Same for me, but I will join. If I would get the opportunity to get some Brickarms for free, I wouldn't let it slip out of my hands. =D
