  1. Blackadder's Christmas Carol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHDP5TFpqkw...feature=related With Robbie Coltrane as the ghost in the costume of Hagrid.
  2. What a beautiful station. It made me feel in the "winter mood", nice work. I like the colors very much, the stone surface you've created works very well. The interior is also nice and comfy, you've done a great job on the ticket office. The lanters are also very nice. Great winter scene, I would love to see more of such creations comming winter!
  3. I've featured your fantastic street on my Dutch LEGO blog, because my readers really should see it. (link is in my signature)
  4. Over at Flickr L.D.M. has noticed something strange at Target. LEGO Harry Potter: years 1-4 is already placed there for preordering! It makes me already contemplating if I should buy it for PC or Wii. Or don't buy it and wait for the "full adventure". But I now I couldn't do that. Perhaps the two parts for the Wii or PC and then the years combined for the other platform. Anyway, for the Harry Potter fans: notice that Harry is (finally) wearing a cloak, unlike the last sets we received and that the wand isn't just a bar piece, but it goes thinner at the top.
  5. Fantastic houses, really great. I saw this on a Lowlug a few days ago but hadn't got around to make a comment. So I'll do it now. The houses fit extremely well with the current official LEGO modular houses, it's a perfect match. The colors of the houses are well chosen, I especially like the blue, gray and tan of the bank. And what an awesome post office! The printing shop and restaurant are also very nice. My favorite is the bicycle shop, excellent architecture and amazing details. The pavements and the bicycle strokes are good ideas, it fits very well and it's realistic. Perhaps I'll borrow that idea, if I may. I like the scenery; the lanterns and phone booth are looking very good. But there's one, tiny little, thing that bothers me. I'm not so fond of the trees, I think it'll look even better with LEGO leaves. If you would be a designer at LEGO I wouldn't hesitate buying your buildings!
  6. You have to think further CopMike, but I guess this is for real Harry Potter fans. This scene happened around christmas time in the last Harry Potter movie (and the Halfblood Prince). I'll upload my entry very soon.
  7. Thanks, and of course, in the near future I'll make a topic or an appropiate website to go with the town. I just wanted to share my experiences, my intentions aren't to make some people jealous. I'm not bothered by the leaning ceiling, however I am bothered by the horizontal wooden bars which support the ceiling. I've already hit my head sometimes when I forgot they were there... But they aren't really a big problem.
  8. I'm looking forward to your pictures, charlieboy. Here's my LEGO corner, a big part of my collection is now standing there. I'm slowly organizing and sorting everything I move up there. The wooden sorting boxes are called 'Fira', they were bought in Ikea and build by me. When I've sorted everything I will make some detailed photos. The tabletown will change (and lots of things added when I rebuilt some sets), I'm just fooling around with the setup at the moment. The right part of the table isn't photographed because nothing is standing there and I will need that spot for something else.
  9. This awesome! I don't know much about beautiful pirate ships, but I do now this is probably the best one! The colors are really wonderful, everything fits so perfectly together. The subtle hints of color make it outstanding, most of the time I see nice ships but they are all in the same brown. It really breaks the monotony. The sails are wondefully done. The ship itself is marvelous, the angles make it very nice and I like the cabin. Great job!
  10. Ah, yes. Insulation. I knew I forgot something to check, thanks. And don't worry, everything is added like it should be. And thanks for the comments, everybody. Don't hesitate to post your LEGO building place.
  11. A place where you can relax and take some time off from the daily life, a place stored with your precious LEGO. Who hasn't dreamt of that? I think everybody with a big collection of LEGO would love to have a special room dedicated to his hobby, not only because it's just awesome, but also because it won't stand in the way if you can store it all together. Well, last week my wish came true! Let me share you my experiences with the making of a LEGO room. We don't live in a huge house, but it's nice and comfortable. The only spare room we had left was the attic, but it was crammed with stuff from our childhood and stuff from my parents which we don't use anymore. It was a complete mess. My granddad and I had some thoughts of renovating the attic, so we made the plans and I got excited. I drew a very simple plan of the attic (but with the wrong lengths) and an idealistic idea of a big table. However, I didn't hold reckon with my sister who also wanted some space. And this isn't very realistic, is it? Last week we had autumn holiday, a week not thinking about school. So my granddad, my dad and I decided to clean up the mess in the attic and renovate it. Monday we bought a new staircase which you can fold out, before that we used and old ladder to get in the attic. Tuesday we applied a the half of the insulation. Tough job, especially because it itches so much. And we also layed a little part of the floor (the floor was a mess at the start, just layed with loose planks). Curious how it looked in the evening on Tuesday? What a mess, isn't it. We had to move all the stuff to the other side. And then we could use the loose planks beneath the ending of the roof, to place the stuff on it. Ah, Wednesday. Almost there, we thought. On Wednesday we layed the whole floor, and we did a part of the insulation on the other side of the roof. I have to say, I was feeling pretty tired and it was like throwing away my week vacation, a time of relaxation (but I really can't complain in the end ). On Thursday had we isolated the last part and we stored all the stuff that stood in the way. Here and here are pictures of the process, almost ready now. You may ask why we didn't cover the insulation? Well, it's simple. It would have cost to much and with the light reflects on the insulation, so there's more light. On Friday we installed the table for my, oh yeah, tabletown! . We used three loose planks that layed on the floor to build the table. It's now 3 metres in length and 1 metre wide. If I have to be honest, I wanted it to be bigger, at least 4 metres in length (as you can see on my first plan, the result doesn't even look like it). But 3 metres is really long, so I had no reason to complain. And I'm not the only person in our family who wants a place for his/her hobby. I also started to clean up a bit more, putting away some more stuff so I had more space. Yesterday my granddad installed the electricity, two bright lights and a couple of sockets. A big part of the attic is now my LEGO room, or LEGO corner. The other parts are for my sister, she doesn't know yet what to do with it and for storing things in the future. The attic has now really evolved. Here and here are pictures of the two sides. This is my corner, where I will build my MOCs and store my sets behind glass and here my big table for my future town. Perhaps you notice the black stereo installation on the left, ripped from its contents with only one piece left. That's recycling! I couldn't be more happy with how it looks, I consider myself a very lucky guy with great parents and grandparents. The work, time and money that went in it is well spend, and my bedroom will be forever tidy now! And I hope to have inspired some of the members to start cleaning up their attic (or cellar). You can accomplish much in only one week time. The only thing that is left to do now is moving every piece of LEGO from my bedroom to the attic. I've already started it and when I'm ready I will surely upload some pictures of everything together. Thanks for reading this big text, I hope you've enjoyed it. Don't hesitate to ask questions!
  12. Ha, that's really a great creation! The rides are worked out very well, I especially like the little details; such as the marks of the bumper cars and the little kid that isn't big enough to go on the ferris wheel. The torture room is awesome, those cages are very cool. The Duplo tree also works very well as scenery for a play.
  13. MOC stands for My Own Creation, so the creations you make with LEGO are MOCs. It's a common word in the world of AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO). There are many abbreviations in the LEGO hobby, like SNOT (Studs Not On Top) or LUG (LEGO Users Group), if you want to know them some more of them I suggest you take a look here: http://www.kockice.org/en/lego-abbreviationsacronyms/ or http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1188 (as brickzone just pointed out) .
  14. Morsmordre Express, clever. Very nice! As a Harry Potter fan I can only like this, it's great. The colors fit well and the way the snake is spreaded on the whole length of the train. The front looks great. And I like your story to go with it. It's also very creative without any use of normal train pieces.
  15. This looks indeed awesome! The architecture of your castle looks extremely well done, very impressive. I'm looking forward to the next evolutions of your Hogwarts. Reminds me that I should continue my Hogwarts, but I'm more focused on the environments at this point (ran out of big amounts of tan, with other words )...
  16. I am still working on my Hogsmeade train station, I hope to finish it within the next couple of weeks. No worries, I won't post it in the licensed board, but in the Train Tech board. And I already have a train in my mind to build, of course the Hogwarts Express, but I don't really know anything about steam trains (like Big Ben Wheels, or official LEGO wheels etc.) but that's where the new Train Start comes in handy!
  17. The building would not only look perfect with the original Medieval Market Village, it suits perfect in a snowy diorama and it really has a christmas feeling it. The colors look also good, it matches well together. Excellent job!
  18. Wow, that new Creator house looks really great! I still have to get myself the other two smaller LEGO Creator houses. Actually, I don't own any of the nice Creator houses, but I really would have the smaller ones. This is just a must get! I think I'll buy one for the blue slopes and pieces, and one for the build itself. Awesome.
  19. Looks like the designers have made better alien vehicles. Not only the figures look great, but also the purple spacecraft looks pretty well made. I'm looking forward to these. Not that I'm going to buy them, but it just looks nice and you never know.
  20. Thanks for this good and especially fast review! It gives a good impression of this winter set. I really like this set, the figures are very nice. The extras, like the bench with nice lamp posts and the big tree, make it a very nice scene all together. Very nice of LEGO to put in three normal christmas trees. The toy shop looks pretty good, better than I thought at first. It has very nice details, I especially like the chimney. I am wondering, can the light brick be lightened without pressing it? If not, then I also don't see the use of it. I'm not so fond of the light brick, they should have left it out so it could be a cheaper set. So about the price, I'm glad it isn't very expensive. 60 euro is a pretty decent price for this amount of bricks, but it's a small set when you look at it. If it would have been 40-50 euro, like in 60 dollars ( , I should stop making comparisons with the two), I would have bought it right away. Now I'll have to think about it for a while. Thanks again for the review!
  21. All the entries are very nice! The members of Eurobricks have done their best here. The entry that stood out to me was I Scream Clone's Zacthan Station. Mainly because it is the kind of station I had in mind to enter with myself. But also because the nice color sheme which works very well. Green and tan, with grey, works well together. The plants and the minifigures make it lively. And of course, the nice building techniques make it a winner.
  22. I thought they were going to be donated to charity?
  23. Woah! Looks really interesting. I only thought this would be usefull for my collection of own Harry Potter figures, but it seems like the sets are also nice. And not only for the cool parts, of course. I'm seeing forward to more of this.
  24. LEGO Atlantis looks awesome so far. That's all I have to say for now.

I haven't bought the airport that was released in 05-06, just because of those ugly airplanes. I still stick with the good old ones. And I'll probably won't buy this new one, just because of those airplanes. Aargh, I still can't imagine how LEGO has screwed up what could be a good looking helicopter. I'll probably buy it if it isn't expensive, only to make my own cockpit for it!
