I like the truck, although it's made with huge pieces. And what's up with the firefighters' helicopter? I mean, it looks relatively good, but why that big <insert that tiresome argument> piece as a front? We've always seen nice brick-built fronts for small/medium airplanes... But no, I don't want this? That doesn't look like LEGO at all! Normaly I'm not worried about <insert that tiresome argument> pieces, but it just looks awfull here. The airport seems a bit too small and kiddy. But hey, it's LEGO. It seems that they'll never release another airport as similair as the '90s ones...

I'm looking forward to this contest! I've enjoyed the first one last year, but I've evolved much in terms of building skills. So I'm curious what this will be all about.

I'll be playing like a pirate! What? Check this out!

I think I really like that new fire station! I haven't bought the 07 version, but I don't think I have to regret that when I look at that picture. It looks very good, and it will go nice with the 05 fire truck (which is the best one in my opinion). I love all the big amount of windows and glass pieces. I saw a garbage truck today that had a front window like a bus, and I joked to my mother in the car all the trucks will have huge windows within a few years. Seems like LEGO is also following this trend!

Excellent entry! It looks pretty detailed with a clean look. I'm generally not so fond of the slightly variations in shades of dark red, but you've managed to use it very well here! It gives the roof a realistic and detailed look. The scenery looks also good, nice trees and electric poles.

Very nice review. The cars look actually pretty accurate for such a small scale. And when you compare them to the older LEGO versions, they are a huge step forward! The fleshie figures look appealing (for me to use with my LEGO Harry Potter universe), it's a bit weird LEGO used the same heads for Massa and Barrichello. Is it me, or is that another head for Massa on the back of the box? It's also a shame that there are so much stickers, but it's just because if they printed them they wouldn't have much use in other sets. But the suited man torso could have been printed, and they should've made him flesh. Mixing both flesh and yellow in one set doesn't make much sense to me.

Ha, I did. Would be an awesome deal. I adjusted it.

Oh, yes. It totally is! I bought mine for 120 euro a month or so ago and I really enjoyed the build. It looks really outstanding in comparison to normal LEGO City sets. The design, the architecture, the stickers, the pieces, it goes very well all together. Definitely a must buy.

Very nice little scene! I didn't really knew what the red studs were at first, but I thought out it was the magic Harry uses. Turns out I was right. The icy effect works really well. I was contemplating about making this scene myself, but you have done a good job using real ice. The tree looks very good and the doe looks fine, considiring it's brick built with LEGO. I recommend that you take a look at the deers and does created by patje, a BeLUG member. They look really accurate. It would be a dream if LEGO ever released those parts in trans-clear, so we will be able to make a patronus deer and doe!

Like I said on Flickr, this is a beautiful station! The design is very good and so are the little architectural details. What makes this creation beautiful, is the perfect colour sheme. It's filled with minifigures and their luggage, it adds a nice touch. Great job!

I just like to say that I'm half way there. I have a nice train station in mind, and it's comming along well. The problem is I'm short on cash and very busy with the new school year. But I am doing my best to make my entry as good as possible, and if I'm not in time, I will still finalize it and show it here at the Train Tech forum.

I just came back from a vacation in the Netherlands (Zeeland). If anyone wondered where I went. It was fine, however, the other years I always could get my hands on some cheap LEGO. Not this year... Means I can put more in my upcomming project!

Welcome at Eurobricks! Before opening a topic with a question, first please use the search button and look at the pinned forum topics. When you've done that, you would have seen that there is a topic called "Minifig Customization Index and Guidelines", it's a good index of everything in the MCW board. For your particular question there's even an excellent tutorial by LuxorV, check it out here. You just need Word or another text editor. Good luck!

This would be my dream job, especially combined with LEGO! Capt. Kirk slips in my mind when I read this, he's great at designing. I sure hope he reads this job advert. You never know!

This looks very good! I've seen it on Flickr, The Brothers Brick and BeLUG. But I've never taken my time to make a good comment on it. It's really great. I first thought it was an impressive post-apocalyptic scene, but when I looked better, I noticed it isn't sci-fi, it's the real world. It's very realistic. The details like the clothing, the ripped posters, flags, bullet holes and broken pieces make it perfect. Great job!

I've played with them I was younger with it, with a friend of mine who owned some. I wasn't into them, as I was more for LEGO and Playmobil. They aren't hard to find at all around here. You can find them in any toystore, the two toystores in the city nearby have even a whole aisle for them!

A brand NEW Pirate set coming August 31 [details are being confirmed]

In fact, there are several topics about this. This is the latest one; a review of this LEGO Brickmaster Pirate set. -
I'm also having thoughts about this lately. I am becoming more and more interested in the classic Town houses, they are just marvelous. I always thought that when I have my own city it will be filled with official LEGO Modular houses and my modular MOCs. But classic sets are to beautiful to not be displayed, so I have to think of a good way to combine all the official sets. (And perhaps some MOCs, I'm also not sure of mixing MOCs in my future town. ) A little park sounds actually a good idea for separating the two styles. Then you could think that it's a little town (classic houses) next to the big part of city?

I am planning on using the "Hermoine" hairpiece, but in black, for Bellatrix. It seems the best solution to me. And thanks for clearing that out, LuxorV! @Nix and LAF_2012; I don't make decals that already exist on real LEGO pieces (the Death Eather exists twice; skull mask and a whole grey head, the TriWizard outfits also exist). But I do think of making a Diggory outfit.

I would buy it. I love the style of the building, the look and the design. I like blue! However, I was too late to buy it at 89.99 euro. I seriously thought is was going to lower in price, but now the least expensive one costs around 120 euro. I have the Café Corner, I bought it when it came out, but I hope to get my hands an all the modular houses.

Awesome! It's all purist, but it's all just perfect. Great job. A mystery machine would indeed be great to see.

Oh, yes. I love my grandparents! They got me this big bag of LEGO pieces from a huge carboot sale/flea market (rommelmarkt) and I like it! I've cleaned it and I am now going to sort it and make the possible sets that are in it. They said the people who sold it also had other bags of LEGO and baseplates. I think with all those bags and baseplates you could make all the sets. These are the ones that are in it, although not complete (at first sight, do you spot others?): - 6597: Century Skyway: (only) helicopter, airplane and control tower - 6571: Flame Fighters: whole set, except for figures and baseplate - 4714: Gringott's bank: some parts, including the goblins, yay. So, consider me very happy. :) I'll make what I can make out of it, but I'll probably part it out. And yay for first Fabuland figure, in new condition.

Beautiful LEGO town! This is the perfect example that with normal LEGO sets you can build an awesome town. This is what I always wanted, but with MOCs and the modular buildings it didn't look as good as this. Everything fits perfectly together. The park looks also good, so do the scenes you have build. Great job!

I didn't know this at all! I was going to buy this set to get my hands on those figures (Captain, general, lady pirate)... But I guess I won't do it now. And I was also going to buy the last couple of Minifigure Collections, but why would I bother if the quality isn't good at all?! I always liked what LEGO did, I never had any big complaints, but this is just sad and ridicilous!

I'm looking forward to these sets. I haven't bought medium or big LEGO City sets in few years, the list sounds interesting. I own the fire station of 2005 (7240), but it's parted out. I was going to buy the new fire station, but the price was to high (imo). Maybe this new one will look better, although the one of last year looked pretty good. (Or I'll just get the modular Fire Station). I actually don't mind the high rate of firemen sets, it only means we have more choice! And in every line released there are always some really good sets, just like the fire engine set of 05 (7293). The airport sounds interesting, as I found the last one not that good, with the big planes and everything. Those piglets also sound very interesting! I really look forward to these and I hope they will be in the style of the BrickForge animals, but it will be probably fit with the new LEGO cow (detailed and childish, it's LEGO after all).
