From seeing those clear pictures I must say, those figures look pretty good. But it is still way too detailed for normal LEGO figures. The torso's will come in very handy, but those heads... It just doesn't look like LEGO at all. PoP looks still pretty awesome.

When I saw the pictures I hoped it was Duplo. It was almost impossible to think that LEGO would release Toy Story in a normal minifigure scale. And how they worked it out seems very, very good. But way too detailed! This doesn't look like LEGO at all, except the few normal minifigures. They have made it too detailed. It was one of my favorite movies when I was little, but I don't think I will ever buy these. These aren't compatible with LEGO System. Prince of Persia, on the other hand, looks fantastic! The new animal moulds look, again, too detailed but in the same line as the new cows. So it fits. The minifigures are looking awesome. This is fantastic for making custom (LEGO Harry Potter ) minifigures. Those scarfs, headpieces, torsos,...

Very nice scene of an awesome movie. The head fits, although he seems a bit to angry. But it works. I think the head for Augustus works extremely well, he has a girly look, so it suits him! Great job, I'm looking forward to your bigger creation.

Yes. I am one of those. I was planning to buy it, for a long time now. But the recent price increase has made me think not to buy it. My only hope is that LEGO will restock them, so I can get them at the normal price again. I don't say I didn't had a chance to buy it, I had many chances, but I wanted it cheap. Seems like I should have bought it right away.

Ha, I've just build the vehicles. I like them. The buildings I will do tomorrow. And my parents haven't bought me the set, I had to pay it like that. They just like to think that they control my LEGO hobby, so if I haven't bought it there, I would never have the permission to buy it somewhere else for a higher price.

Yay, I finally own this set. I wasn't sure if I was going to buy it, but at the Toy'R'Us in France it was priced for 120 euro. Though choice. My parents said it's now or never. Then I went to another store and before we left I ran back to the Toy'R'Us to get me this set. I was never going to buy it for the whole price and seeing that the prices of sets (like the Market Street) are going up, I had to have it now. I am going to build it now. Sure hope I won't regret this.

I don't own the 7898, so it's clear for which train I will vote. The 4512 was my first LEGO train (not counting the first Hogwarts Express without rails) and it's still my favorite train. I like the engine very much, the color sheme is good. The other wagons were just for simple cargo boxes, but the one to transport gold was very good designed. And I like the figures. It's only four or five years ago I bought this outstanding set, I built it on the floor in my parents' bedroom because there I had the place doing it. And I loved the set, but when I wanted to let it go on the tracks, it didn't want to ride! I panicked. But then I saw I had placed the electric connections on the same side. Ah, such a great set. One of the sets I haven't broken down. I must say the 7898 looks also very interesting, the blue truck looks excellent. So does the crocodile look of the green engine. And the amount of tracks is also good for playing value. But it's remote controlled, not 9V, so I won't buy it. I never will. It's impossible to combine the two, so I'll just stick with 9V.

Like I've said on Flickr and MOCpages, this is awesome. Everything looks very good, especially the colors combined. If I get my hands on those wheels I will probably base my own Hogwarts Express on yours. The coaches look also very good with that yellow line. The windows make it look longer, so I will probably use this technique also instead of the official train windows. Although I'm not very sure about the light grey roof. Wouldn't black look better? But it's still an awesome Hogwarts Express!

What a great creation! I saw some WIP photos last week and I thought it was going to be great, but when see this it looks more than great; it's marvelous! The walls are extremely well done, what amazes me the most is the amount of details you have managed to put in this. All the colors and details in the tan part, great. The landscaping is also very nice, so are the little houses packed in it. You just keep me amazing with your medieval creations!

I can't say anything about the first editon as I don't own it. I would say: go for the second version! It resambles the Clock Tower very well, the figures are nice and so are accesoires. The build is also pretty nice, so is the look. It's really big and the pieces are very useable (that's the only reason why I took it apart ). The clock mechanism actually works and there are even some nice architectural details. The third version is just a random castle, but it is a very nice set for its accesoires and figures. Especially the figures are awesome. The greenhouse is probably, together with the great figures, a reason to buy this set. It is very well designed! So if you're looking for a real Hogwarts that resambles the movie version and if it has to have a good build and look: go for the second edition! If you find figures really important, go for the third edition. It's actually a tough choice.

A theory behind the large box sizes
Matn replied to HumanPackMule's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't think so. It could make sense, but from what I've read (and this is right) the boxes are made so big so it attracts the attention of children walking in the LEGO aisle of a store. I've read that in an interview with someone who works in the LEGO company in the BeLUG journal. So it's just to make the children want the sets. -
Fantastic castle scene, Captain Green Hair! The details look very good, I like the use of those grey plates with clip. The battle tower looks also nice, I like it. You've captured the 80's feeling very well. Ha, Robin Hood is a nice touch.

I have tried not to. My Star Wars sets are displayed, just as my Adventurers sets. I don't take pieces of them when I want to build a MOC and I need a specific piece. A few Castle sets are displayed, but most of them (even the Dwarves' Mine) have been taken apart, so are my Harry Potter sets. Only seven of them are displayed, the other ones are used in MOCs, sometimes I rebuilt them but it doesn't take long to take it apart. Huge sets, like the Café Corner or the Train Depot, will never be taken apart. I sometimes use a piece of it, but I usually put it back. My space monorail is stored away in its box, I will never use a piece of it for MOCs. The Breezaway Café is kept together because of its value and because it's a really nice set. The LEGO City yellow train station is also kept together because I plan to use it in my city, whenever that is and it's also a nice set. I'd like to keep all my sets build, but that doesn't work. It starts with taking a small piece here and there, and before you know it, the whole set is taken apart! It's a bit a random process. And I've noticed lately that when I'm buying a LEGO set I first look at the useable pieces in it, so lately I haven't bought any sets. EDIT: just begun parting out the Batmobile for its slopes.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'd like to also share some thoughts. I'm going to see it saturday. I was worrying about some things even when nothing was known about the sixth movie. It was possible that the makers would not show some very important things that happen in the books, or use just something else instead and that it won't work out exactly. First of all, I was worrying that they wouldn't have shown enough about the Horcruxes enough, but I guess that'll be alright. Second, I just read that The real thing that makes me mad: makes me think the movie won't be as good as everybody is telling in their reviews... I can't stand it that they can afford it to make such mistakes... I'm just really glad that when I'm reading to books I picture myself everything like a movie in my head. It's not I don't like the movies, not at all, I enjoy them! But not telling important things, or changing them in the last few movies makes me a bit mad, it's like they are not thinking forward enough.

I'm not looking for a big amount, maybe around 10 or a bit less. Every window would be welcome. Yes, I've seen that. But, euh, it's a bit out of my price range. But if this doesn't work, I see no other option than that link.

I am in search for some dark red windows. They only appeared in one set, the 10132 Hogwarts Express but I figured out that it is possible that someone may have a batch of these anyway. I prefer buying these with a bank transfer via IBAN, but if I have some pieces you are searching we can trade them. EDIT: oh, yes and I prefer trading with/buying from Europian members, but there has to be always a first time to trade with or buy from non-Europian members. Thanks!

LEGO Licensed Themes MOC and Review Index Discussion Thread
Matn replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'll do my best to review some more LEGO Harry Potter sets. I am now rebuilding them so they can be reviewed! -
I only use 9V tracks and I don't think I ever will change that system. My collection of tracks mostly consists of dark grey tracks, but of course like you said the Hogwarts Express brought my first bley tracks in. And last year I have bought a great batch of new straight tracks, but they were bley. Some time ago I didn't like mixing bley with grey, but who cares? In my LEGO creations I mostly mix the two. But train tracks are something different, I like to keep everything that's in sight dark grey. So the tracks in the back (when layed against a wall) are bley or the tracks that ride behind houses or in a mountain are bley. The tracks you can see are mostly dark grey, the others are bley. I don't like mixing the two in a train layout, but I have to if I want to make a decent layout. And I will do this also whenever I get the space for a big town with a train layout.

Thanks for this good review of another great LEGO modular building. This Fire Brigade gives me another feeling than the Café Corner (which I own), the Market Street and the Green Grocer. There's just something different with this one. I'm not sure what it is, maybe it's the colors that are a bit mismatching with the other modular buildings? Or is it the American flag? I'm not sure, but I actually like this set very much. I have to get my hands on the Market Street (the price of this one is really going up lately) and Green Grocer, but I'm not sure if I will buy this one. It's a perfect LEGO fire station, it has a great design and architectural features! The figures are also very nice, so is the old car. The back of this building looks also good, with the grass and mudd.

There have been a few topics about this already in the Licenses board. Maybe it is possible for a moderator to merge them this one and the other one together? And no, it wouldn't have been better to stop the line with the Goblet of Fire movie. If so, we could have never seen the magnificent new Snape and Umbridge head. And that hairpiece. Anyway, LEGO should have never stopped producing LEGO Harry Potter. But I'm still glad there's going to me some new LEGO Harry Potter games. It makes things even, you know.

I have just uploaded the pictures, an overall picture and the ones that had to be made for the contest. This is my first custom figures, so don't be to hard on me. The decal for the head was printed on clear decal paper, the front an back decals for the torso had to be printed on normal paper ( ) so on the photos it looks like it doesn't match so good; but I have to say: in person it matches better. The hairpiece and sword are handpainted, the dark green hair matches perfect with LEGO's dark green.

Wonderfull entry! The figure looks excellent, the sets you've made look very good. When the contest is over, I'll give this a try myself.
-
Indeed, that's getting pretty impressive. I like this layout, it's looking good. Those rocks are also done very well. Maybe you adjust the police station and make a MOC out of it? That's what I am going to do when I ever get the place for my own LEGO city. The bridge you've made with the computer looks also very good. I'm looking forward to the finished result!

Exciting! And thanks for this raffle, it's really nice that Eurobricks does so many raffles.

Thanks for this great review. The pictures are excellent and the videos are a nice way of showing the various playing functions. I always liked the way Hermoine and Ron pop up. The shark head is also great. A shame LEGO didn't include the other characters in this scene... I was actually about to review it myself, but I couldn't have done it better (and I'm using some of its pieces). The fourth LEGO Harry Potter line was awesome. Of course, only four sets were released, but they were magnificent. It was a sad choice of LEGO only to release four sets because the design of the sets were great, so if they did other scenes, who know how good they would've looked! I didn't buy any of them in the store, I don't know why, but I feel stupid because of it. The only set I now have to get of the fourth movie is the one with the Hungarian Horntail.
