It looks rather good, especially the minifigure. I can't wait for the minifigures. This theme excites me, Atlantis! But it's better to wait for some official pictures to make my thoughts about this.

Awesome creation, I Scream Clone! It's a beautiful tower and it fits perfectly in the Black Falcon theme. The colors fit really well together. The architecture looks amazing, all those details look excellent. The overall shape of the tower looks really great. The scenery and landscaping are also good. I do feel that the brown tree with the parots feels a bit empty, but the shape makes it up.

This looks more than good! The minifigures are good, those singing people can be used for many things. I wonder who will come up with the dirtiest one , they look very good. The accesoires and trees are excellent. As said before, the house looks a bit random. It's a big pile of random colors, but maybe it will look better in person. I sure hope so!

Don't worry, Captain Zuloo! The entries may not be wider than 8 studs, so you can make one with a width of six studs. That's what I also am going to do.

This is really impressive! What a big building, but you've still managed to put in beautiful details. The colors look very good. The scenery is also very well done. I would love to see that in person sometime. Are you planning to brake it down in the future?

Thanks! I'm glad you like it and that I've motivated you to discover some other Harry Potter creations (of the few ).

Woah, thanks for changing the ending date! I really appreciate it, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. We now have enough time to plan out the design and to collect the right pieces for our entries. I am planning to make the Hogwarts Express (oh, there goes the surprise ), but am I allowed to that? Since there have been some LEGO sets of it?
-
I prefer steam trains. The only one I own made by LEGO is the Hogwarts Express, but I hope to get my hands on the Emerald Night soon. Steam are much more beautiful than modern ones, they have interesting designs and I just like it more. I do like the modern trains, like the Santa Fe, by LEGO (although I don't own it). But nothing compares to a beautiful steam engine. And I'm actually also relatively new to LEGO trains, I'm/was just not so that into them. But they have always impressed me.

Thanks for this comprehensive tutorial! I think it will help people very much making their own pieces that fit with LEGO, and maybe it will help me in the future. Everything is explained well with some good photos, good job.

Thanks for hosting this great contest. And also a big thanks to all the people who voted for me and took the time to read the description of the LEGO Body Miners theme! I am not so sure how to use this card, does it also include costs of sending it to me, or do I have to pay extra for that? Anyway, I'll contact the owner or so.

This is really great. Thanks for hosting this great contest! I would love to participate, but it already ends the 31th of August, so it's rather short. I have ideas in my mind that I'll try to work out, but we'll see if it works out like I want it to do.

Looks very good, I also like the little text for introducing the various elements. I like the architecture, it fits well for an evil wizard. The colors work also. And it's hard to make good use of that rased baseplate, you've used it well. The interiour looks really good, it fits perfectly. The bed is very nice. The balcony and the top are also well made. Last week I've tried to make a wizard's tower myself, but it didn't work out that good because it was impossible to make a roof. Because I made the tower with six corners, so it didn't look very well. I broke it down and used the grey for houses. But this tower gives me inspiration to start it over again, and perhaps in darker colors also.

[Brick Flick] The Nightly News at Nine
Matn replied to fallentomato's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
Ha, that was again very good. You're really a master at making brickfilms! The movements and everything look always perfect, as is the filming and al the effects that go with it. I'm not so sure about the watereffect, though. But it still is awesome. I'm looking forward to your next films. -
8.02/10, that's what I got. I'll answer to your questions; 1) How do you define LEGO purity? LEGO purity is for me only using elements designed by LEGO. So, not using any other things. No BrickArms or Brickforge, no custom decals, no painting, no other brands, no strings or so. 2) Are you a purist? I am. Well, I was. Err... I always considered myself to be a purist. But when I realised LEGO would never release other LEGO Harry Potter figures, my decision was made: I will make my own decals; but I'll never go any further. I'm trying the whole decal thing, it's working out fine. However, I painted a couple of pieces for the MCWcontest, but I'll never do it again. Now, onto customizers who sell their stuff: I was always standing sceptic against it. But now I think it's just fine. The animals made by BrickForge look outstanding, clean and simple, fitting with the LEGO horse, something that wouldn't happen if LEGO produces them. So, I will never go further than making my own decals and applying them or perhaps buying something of BrickForge. Using other brands? It's tempting, but no, never. Why am I tempted? Because other brands have some great accesoires! 3) How do you feel about "impure" MOCs? I am always impressed by great customized figures, they can look fantastic. When I see a MOC uses other brands, well... If that person thinks it's alright, then so it be. It's their own decision. Let's face it, sometimes using other brands can look pretty good. Strings and self-made sails; I'm really fine with that. It's hard to make fantastic ships and LEGO doesn't produce these things, so it's really obvious when there's no other option. Impure MOCs can be good, if worked out well.

BrickForge Decals Now Availible
Matn replied to Hound Knight's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
This is really great. They look very good! What BrickForge is doing lately, helps me get rid of my purismn ideas. -
That's horrible. Lucky no one is harmed. It happend around midnight, probably an electric breakdown in the little kitchen were some machinery stood. Let's hope they make a new one.

I just watched the episode of this week, it was again very good. I've always liked Top Gear, although I don't know that much about cars. I always watch it together with my father, on Canvas (Belgium channel) they are showing the episodes of a year ago with subtitles, but we've seen them already. That doesn't stop us from watching. And of course, we watch the now ones on BBC. James May is really great. I just like him, I guess. The old cars were really nice, I like those. I found it pretty funny with that glamour girl, okay, there was probably some acting involved, but I found it good. May's reactions were funny. Last week was also good, has anyone noticed at the point were they showed each others' cars, when James May slams the door of (I think;) Jeremy's car, he hits Jeremy in the nuts?! It looked so funny, May looks behind him and he puts his arm with a big swing next to his body, but Jeremy didn't stand behind him, he stood next to him. I hope somebody saw that! It's all done very well, Top Gear, but the last few episodes the music attracts my attention. They have used The Killers for three episodes in a row, and in the episode of this week I have heard (in this order): Jimi Hendrix, Joy Division, again Hendrix and then the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Ha, the people that choose the music have the same music taste as mine.

They're not desperate at all. The past few years have been great for LEGO, top themes and top sales! Toy Story isn't crap at all, it's one of the best movies for children out there. And it's a good decision of LEGO, in my opinion, to take a Disney license and produce some LEGO Toy Story sets. It's hard to make good figures out of movies, because if you look at other movie licenses, it's hard to see the actors in the figures. And with this theme, they really couldn't have done it any better. The figures look exactly like the ones in the movie, they did an excellent job. Even the RC car looks perfect. I wasn't into these figures at first sight, but they really have grown on me. I'm looking forward to the sets!

I am sure there are some more sites on which you can check for LEGO instructions, but I have always used the Brickfactory for those instructions I have lost from when I was much younger: http://www.hccamsterdam.nl/brickfactory/

A brand NEW Pirate set coming August 31 [details are being confirmed]
Matn replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Aren't these just the Brickmaster exclusives that are now available on that online store? It's a box for sure, you can see the bricks packed in it. -
That's a very nice castle. The used techniques are very nice and your characteristic landscape is awesome! The base is also clever. Nice to know I'm not the only one that rans out of grey so fast. So you keep all your creations built?

That's a very nice scene you've build there. I always like the villages the crew of ministickers.nl make, like the one on the last BeLUG event. Or in Zwolle. This fits in very well.

Basic Lego on list of 100 Things Your Kids May Never Know...
Matn replied to Derek's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I know most of that list, and I did/do some things of that list. But on LEGO; Basic LEGO will never go away. It should be your kids first LEGO bricks, I think. -
This is really awesome. You are truly a great builder! The look of this library is really outstanding with the matching colors and very nice details. It's the details that do it. The greenery is also very nice, I like the trees. I would love to see this on a big city layout.

Ah, I've given the Toy Story figures some thoughts and... They are indeed awesome. At first, like I said in my earlier post, this doesn't look like LEGO. But it's a very good job by LEGO, they have represented the characters very well. It's actually nice to see such an amount of detail in such a little figure. It's something else.
