Ahsoka counts too. As for the Garindan in the Landspeeder- keep dreaming. It was just a weird shadow in the background (I personally think that it was a Bantha! ), and someone was looking waaay too hard at the pictures and said "Wow! Look at that shadow! Its a brand new minfigure of an obscure character that Lego wants to keep hush-hush on in the already confidential pictures! Who would have thought!?" Really guys. Forget the Garindan or whatever it's called. Unless we get more evidence (I doubt we will), this is all wishful thinking. You are just going to be disappointed... -darthperson

Green Grocer is the same MSRP, and is on sale on S@Hwith free shipping over $75, so I recommend getting that set if you want a good build, design and display set. Town Plan seems nice, but Green Grocer is bigger and more of a value IMO. Good luck making the right choice! -darthperson

I don't think that this has been pointed out yet, but I think that both the Buzz and Zurg sets come with one of the Little Green Aliens in the blue suit. Both of the box pics have one on it, and if one wasn't included, that would be false advertising.

Behind the Stormtrooper? That's the only thing I can think of, and I'm pretty sure that's just part of the background...
-
That could just be from the new arm mold... I think that the sets look great, but won't buy most of them, except for the Army Men pack!
-
True, but of course they want you to pay full price for the set if you want to add more levels. I ordered my Green Grocer this weekend (The $120 sale price and free shipping got me ) and I can't wait for it to come! Svelte's pictures make me even more excited! I can't wait to see the expanded Fire Brigade! -darthperson

Thanks for the review! The pictures were great and high quality. I regret missing out on this set, it really looks great. 10 figures can't be beat, especially when 4 of them are Stormtroopers with printed legs. I like the control station and little cart, it makes the set less boring than it would have been with just the ship, and allows a more realistic recreation of the movie scene. Just by looking at the design of the ship, you can tell that Lego's design has drastically improved within the past 4 years. It's a great set, don't get me wrong, but just based on some of the features of the current sets (like the synchronized opening doors in the Sep. Shuttle) its quite evident. It also seems that Lego has cut back on (or at least did a better job hiding) random colors in the interior, like the green here. Thanks for the review of this fantastic set! -darthperson

 Nice find, it made me smile. Fantastic use of all the pieces, the DV helmet, Tank droid discs, and big Indy boulder. Thanks a lot for sharing! -darthperson

I thought I would bump this post so people just seeing this thread won't have to go back. As for the sets- I'm looking forward to the battlepacks, Freeco, and Landspeeder the most. All are great sets, with great figures. It's great to see more small Star Wars sets than the large ones, I think that they are more fun to collect. I don't see why everyone hates the Tri-Droid. The design seems pretty movie accurate, and there's nothing that designates it to be CW, so non-CW fans should be happy with the set. The "wing" design is fatter, something that the 2005 original lacked. I have always been kicking myself for not buying that version, but now I'm glad I didn't because this one is much better. My only complaint is the exact same figures as the Hyena droid. I'm also confused with the size/price of the TIE. It is a good looking set, but I doubt I'll get it, I'm not a TIE fan. The box seems to be the same size as the $20-25 sets, yet it is rumored to cost between $30-50. They are obviously still preliminary, but I would think that Lego would have different sized boxes to avoid price confusion. Can't wait to get these! -darthperson

I was looking at the above concept picture, and picturing some of the drawn buildings as sets. I think that the building (with archway and path/road ) to the immediate right of Cafe Corner would make a very cool set. It would definitely spice up the line and offer something unique. Another idea that I had was having two thinner buildings (perhaps townhouses or shops, maybe a combination of the two), each on a 16x32 plate, together in a $150 or so set. They could look good on their own, and be divided and put in different spots on a modular building layout.
-
That would be great if they released some smaller sets in this style. Maybe have one or two floors instead of three. I do not own any of the modular sets, but I am seriously considering getting Green Grocer while it is $30 off and Free Shipping on S@H. If Lego made some smaller sets, I would be hooked on this line, but as of now, its an expensive line to collect.

That is very interesting... I actually think that there is a good chance we will see Harry Potter sets. The Half-Blood Prince will be coming on DVD in a few months, anticipation will start to build for the Deathly Hallows movies in the upcoming years, and the game will be coming out. 3 possible reasons for a return. They could do one of those Toy Story/Indy things where they release sets from the old movies in the winter/spring, and release a line of the new movie for the summer/fall. Considering we are getting pieces of evidence from a few different places, and it seems realistic, I am officially getting my hopes up. -darthperson

Someone should send an email playing stupid and ask about the new Disney line and see what response you get... We already have confirmation, even pictures, of the Disney lines. If the Customer Service rep gives that same response, then they obviously don't know what they are talking about...

I should have made it clearer before (I just edited it to say so), but the article was on the Harry Potter fansite that I linked to. I'm hoping for some good sets and new figures out of this, the game trailer looked great!

As some of you may have noticed on Brickset today, there was a link to an article about how Lego is considering taking some of TT's designs from the new Harry Potter video game, and making some more sets. Link to (article on ) Harry Potter Fansite Link to Interview with Arthur Parson of TT games I was debating between posting this in an old Harry Potter thread were people might not see it, or designating a new topic, where legitimate discussion could take place, instead of speculation. -darthperson

Its called an ATV over here in the States. It looks like a nice little set. I like the detail and color scheme. Little too big for a minifigure though...
-
So am I. It seemed like the Mini's sold really well around Easter time, I'm sure these would sell like hotcakes. And I hope Lego realizes this and makes enough if they end up producing them for Target...

Haha! I love the expression on the dead guy! I've never seen that head before! Your MOC is great! I love everything! The dinosaurs, the car, the figures, the realistic looking scenery, even the little goat! Fantastic work! -darthperson

LEGO Pieces you like but most AFOLs hate
Derek replied to Emperor Claudius Rome's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I love the City mudguard pieces. I know some think that they are "<insert that tiresome argument>" or whatever, but I think they can really add some realism to MOC's, as well as official sets. They also have other creative uses, seen in some official sets, such as the turret in the original SW Clone Battle pack, or as Deck chairs in the 4999 Vestas Promo... -darthperson -
This post just keeps getting bumped again and again! While I'm writing, I would like to say how much I love this moc! I didn't see it when you first posted it, but I'm glad that it was bumped (KimT might not share the same sentiments ) I love the realistic lava, as well as what you've done with Obi-wan's hair. It looks more realistic than the plain hairpiece in the official version. -darthperosn

I rarely laugh at much on here, but I must admit, that was pretty funny! Great review! I don't have or will ever have this set, but it was interesting to read a review of it! I almors wish that the new version was in this scale, but still had an interior and figures. It must've been torture building all those back engine blocks! -darthperson
-
Nice comeback! And proven point! If anything, we are complementing the sets by expressing our frustration over the fact we might not have a chance at getting them...

I'm thinking Christmas, if anything. It seemed the Easter mini's sold well, and they were reasonably priced. If they release these as stocking stuffers, I just might pee my pants. If they are available at Target, I would buy a bunch of the Clones and Droids (I love the walker and STAP itself, and I could always use the figures) I might only get one or two of the speeder though, because its just kinda ugly. Castle axes? I'm glad they are making them, I'm just not too happy that there's a chance I'll never get them! Lego can be such a tease at times! -darthperson

This would definitely soften the blow of no new Indy. (and then some ) As much as I want to believe you, I am remaining cautious about doing so. I suppose the video game would increase the chances of a revival, though. We'll see...

Not exactly 2010 news, but I think that I would point this out to SW fans who don't check the 2009 thread anymore- Whung posted these in the 2009 pics and rumors thread 30004 Battle Droid on STAP http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildin...ons/4563464.pdf 30005 Imperial Speeder Bike http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildin...ons/4563465.pdf 30006 Clone Walker http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildin...ons/4563466.pdf -darthperson
