Nice, solid review of a not-so-solid set! I am kicking myself for even considering getting this a few years back. I am eternally grateful for this years new drawbridge set, which exceeds this one in nearly every aspect. I cant wait to see your comparison of the two! Hahaha!

I don't know about everyone else, but talking about the new sets is getting a little old. They just need to release them worldwide already! I do hope that the Chrome Stormtrooper will be on S@H, I saw him in whungs BS gallery yesterday, so it probably will be...

Lego could very easily separate them and use them on different figures...if they have a way to assemble figures, I think they can pull apart a piece of plastic.

Woah! This and the new modular firehouse in the same day! This is something I will actually get though, it looks fantastic. Great variety of figures in there, with the helmets and beards. With several of these, making unique dwarves will be easy. Thanks for the find!

Whoa! This is nothing short of amazing! Like it has been said, I want to go buy the others just to go with this! All of the details are fantastic, as are the special pieces (tan handbag ) I love the water barrel on the roof, and all of the details on the outside such as the year and flag. However, I am not so attracted to the price. When I first saw it, I thought "Oooh! A small modular building that is awesome and hopefully cheap!" I was painfully wrong. $150. Ouch. I was thinking $90 at the most. Thanks for the news.

I know that the Chrome Storm Trooper is awesome and everything, and I am by no means complaining about anything but you are all acting like $13 is such a fantastic bargain for a figure and a magnet. When you think about how much it costs Lego to make it (probably less than a two or three dollars, if that...) and you look at how much of it is going into their pockets, its a terrible value. I am honestly beginning to worry about what lengths Lego fans will go to for chromed pieces...

They did release a similar car in one of the latest RC train sets a year or two back. It the bigger one, the cargo train, I believe.

Sure, the others may be expensive on the re-sale market, but that is because of rarity, not quality. This magnet we are actually paying for. The other chromes are freebies from Lego. I'm willing to bet that they use the same chroming process for this Stormie as they do the others, but I would figure that they would have higher quality for a product that they are actually charging for.

Misprints and Other LEGO Production Oddities
Derek replied to Navy Trooper Fenson's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Same thing happened to me! I got it half off at Target a few years back. I was really pleasantly surprised by the extra bag of parts, as all of the pieces were quite useful. -
Excuse me if this topic has been discussed before, I don't usually post in the Pirate section, but today I was looking at my new 2009 Pirate sets and was wondering. Who does Lego want us to think that bad guys are, the Pirates, or the Imperials? To me, it seems like the they want the Pirates to be seen as protagonists, and the Imperials as the party-poopers that spoil their fun. However, the pirates are also doing all of the bad things that pirates tend to do, and the Imperials are merely enforcing the law. Maybe it doesn't matter, it was just a thought I had today...

As for the Cloud City set (which I'm almost positive we are getting) why is everyone so against having a bunch of different rooms? They did it with the Death Star, and that made zero sense whatsoever. But it still made a great set. I understand that many were unsatisfied with the original CC set, but I think Lego has improved their set design since 2002.(?) I have a feeling they will do a bunch of rooms again, but have them separated and make some sense. This is what I see- $250-300 sized set with freezing chamber, meeting room, hallway(s), the droid workshop, a place for Luke and Vader to duel, and a landing pad. There could also be vehicles, such as a more compact Slave I (could use windshield from Magnaguard fighter) and a better Cloud Car. As for figures there would be Lando, Lobot, Luke, Leia, Han, Chewy, Vader, R2, 3PO, a few stormies and possible some new Ugnaughts, and a new Boba Fett with better coloring, a new helmet, and use of the clone jetpack. I really think "clouded with mystery" sounds waaaaay too corny to be coincidental...

Haha! That's cool, I love the cute little astromech! Nice work!

Actually, I think that Spongebob has a lot more potential. As much as I doubt it will be renewed, I think that there is a lot left to be done. I do think that they should be done with Ferrari, as I think they've done just about everything they can with that...

I just thought I would point out that the set number in the topic title is wrong. It should be 7198. Perhaps one of the Mods could change it...

Nice review. I think that this is the one IJ set that I am not excited about. Its just one of those sets that you look at and say "meh." I will be saving my money for all of the other fantastic sets, part of me is glad that this is a dud because 1) I won't have to compulsively buy it like the others and 2) There's a better chance of seeing it on sale/clearance, which I would consider buying it. Thanks for the through review (and video ) -darthperson

Well, no one is holding a gun to your head saying, "you better have every single Star Wars Lego set!" I think that it is up to you to decide which sets you want to buy. It seems you have the financial means to afford such a collection, but if there are sets you aren't particularly interested, or especially you don't like, you definitely should save your money for the ones that do. If you enjoy making scenes, you should sell the sets that are just taking up room and you don't want, and use the money. It doesn't make sense to keep them just for the sake of keeping them. When it gets to the bare bones, Lego is what you make it. You can have one $5 set and have hours upon hours of fun with it. But then you can compulsively buy every set, which doesn't seem much fun to me if it becomes a stress. Thats part of what I love about having this hobby, of course I'm not going to buy every set, but I still appreciate and there is something new everyday. I just started collecting in 2005, and there are plenty of sets that I don't have, and it doesn't bother me. I am pretty OCD about a lot of things, but having every SW Lego set isn't one of them. I have a respectably sized collection, but definitely have a lot of holes missing and I still am in love with the hobby. Just my two cents. Hope whatever decision you make is the right one.

I think these sets are all amazing, especially all of the new characters and armor pieces. Nice Job TLC! I will definately pick some up.

Sorry, I just thought it would have been better to have a new topic about something specific, we don't have one Lego thread about everything Lego, but separate ones about specific topics. I personally don't see this thread as inappropriate, as it is the Culture and Multimedia forum. I'm not being mouthy, its just my reasoning behind making a new thread... The Mods can close this if they feel its necessary.

My new Yoda head nearly falls off when you turn it upside down... I have noticed a few of these things as well, lets hope they are fixed before they become too big of an issue...

Any Coldplay fans on here? They are my favorite band, and wanted to see if there were any other fans. My favorite songs are Clocks, Shiver, Low, and Glass of Water. By the way, they have a new free live album for download on their site. I downloaded it, and highly reccomend it! -darthperson

I just noticed a female cop in that group pic previously posted. Does any one know what set she's in?

Wow! Great review of a great set! The AT-ST and speederbikes are great improvements! The figures are all superb, and so is the bunker. I am tempted to get this, but there are soooooo many other great smaller sets I want, I don't know if I can afford them all. Completely off-topic, but he grew up down the street from my house. -darthperson

I look forward to reading the rest of the review and seeing pictures! Nice job so far!

Whoa! That's cool! I like that little shop. All of the figures are great too! I wonder how much it will be in USD. What language and currency is that Amazon link in? I will try a currency converter... Thanks baby!

Hahahahahahahhahahahahah! I personally agree with Kim T, it is an all around great figure. Printed legs, printed on the back of the torso, great armor, great helmet, and a not-too-common head for once. Even if you wanted a duplicate figure, you could keep the armor off of one and still have two awesome figures.
