I hope these will be at Target this year around Christmas time, much like the Mini SW promos that were there around easter! I will buy a few of the Clone and Droid ones. As for the Stormie one, not so much. -darthperson

Interesting topic. I consider myself as a collector, but not a compulsive one. I like buying the sets that I can afford and appeal to me, build, and display them. I've started to keep the boxes in case I ever lose interest in the hobby (which I never hope happens ) Now my answer to the question relies on your definition of "play." Sure, I'll launch a castle catapult or some flick-fire missiles, or mess around with the functions of a set, but I don't act out stories or anything like that. However, I do play like that when I let my 5 year old brother into my Lego room. One of the things I love about Lego is that it can appeal to a broad age range and provide a good, fun activity for kids and adults. -darthperson

Why are you all just plain trashing the Malevolence model from the movie? I don't think that we are getting it as a set, and even if we eventually do, that one was probably just whipped up for the movie, without any real thought. Everyone take a deep breath and calm down. I'm hoping for pictures soon so we have something else to talk about. -darthperson

Haha! I love how random this topic is! I voted for bagels, especially when they are cinnamon sugar and are topped with cream cheese... -darthperson

That would be a cool gimmick. If it had a base area of 2x4 it could fit the figure, and look more movie accurate in size. The 1x2 brick just seemed too narrow and thin .

That irritates me that they used the Concentration Camp fake set in that news story...it will most likely offend some, causing them to think badly of the company if they aren't familiar with the brand. As for the first story, those are Duplo bricks. Maybe they aren't the classic bricks, but at least they aren't a fake set or Megabloks... -darthperson

I personally won't buy the set unless its something miraculously amazing, but I think since the past few versions were smaller, so I'm interested to see how Lego would handle the ship on a larger scale. They would be able to do this with a larger price tag, a slot that would inevitably be filled by another set. As for the Palpatine shuttle, I'm hoping that it is an Episode III set as well, even if its the only one of the wave that is PT and not Clone Wars. The scene at the end of ROTS is awesome, and hopefully Lego would give us a new Palpatine and a few Shock and Senate Troopers. Come on pictures, we've been waiting long enough! I know that they are out there somewhere, its just some one with access to them needs to be nice enough to post them.

Lego Chair piece not that great for minifigs?
Derek replied to ziljin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The chair piece is one of my favorite pieces, and I am glad it only has two studs, because 4 studs would look strange, and would be inconvienient. As for the cheap minifigs, a few of my legs (dark tan in particular) are attached to the middle "crotch" assembly crooked, and are loose. If anyone else has this problem, I can see it effecting the ability to stick to the chair... -darthperson -
I'm checking my computer more than often lately because I'm nervous I'm going to miss pics. I'm such a dork, but aren't we all? Hopefully Slave I will get a larger set treatment, instead of $50 as in the past. I a set with a $100 tag could do it justice.

Ok. That was funny.

I agree with you, but 5 pages of "OMG! SO-AND-SO POSTED!!!!1" is getting a little old. It was funny at first, but if it goes on any longer, I think it will be the opposite. Just my 2 cents. -darthperson

The CTT, ARC-170, Grievous Fighter, and Palpatine's Shuttle all may very well be CW sets. We will just have to wait and see.

This is great! If the official midi-version was like this, I would buy it in a heartbeat! But without figures or an interior, the official version just doesn't interest me. But I LOVE your version! Nice work!

Because we all have more than enough of him to spare. I think that he looks cool in the ice. It would be a cool idea to do a Batman or SW Hoth scene using this, as mentioned by Athos...

I agree, but I'm not exactly thrilled that its only been a few years since we have gotten the originals from ROTS. Grievous' fighter was only released in 2007. The original was near perfect, I'm very interested to see the new redesign/gimmick. I doubt I will buy it, I have and LOVE the original, but if it has a nice new Grievous figure, I just may have to reconsider... And I'm also glad that there is a new thread, the old one was getting kind of...messy. -darthpreson

Very nice, but if you don't mind my asking, why is there and alligator instead of a cannon?

Thanks for the review. I wasn't a Lego fan when the Paradisa theme was out, so I don't have any of the sets. Some of them do have good pieces though, such as this one which was a good value at $4. Today, a set this size would mostly sell for double that. It would be nice if Lego made Impulse sets this size and price for current themes, as the ones we have now seem too small and would really benefit by the increase in size (but maybe not the increase in price. ) -darthperson

I wonder what they have written in that thread! JCC1004, are you sitting there refreshing the main forum page waiting for new responses? I love this sense of community where everyone is comfortable enough to tease each other. -darthperson

I see you took my advice. Great work, my favorite part has to be the gas station .

No particular order. Its hard to narrow it down! So many great MOCS! 1)Imperial Shuttle by Baronsat 2)AT-RT by pedro 3)Cloud City by Kaitan 4)UCS V-Wing by Olog 5)Rotta's Rescue by Darth Lion Clever raffle idea!

Your mods are fantastic. I just might pass out if Lego actually gave us a City set like that. I think that deserves its own topic, you should make it one... -darthperson

This is the list that we got last year.
-
True, but if you go by Lego's markup on special or limited edition sets, it seems about right. Out of all the sets, the Landspeeder is the one I'm looking forward to the most. I hope its reasonably priced and is a good set.

Hasbro makes toys for Disney too...I doubt that we are getting any impulse sets anytime soon....

I wouldn't have noticed this if you hadn't made this thread. I doubt it will become too much of the problem, because the variations of the face that we have seen so far are so different that they are barely noticable... I'm perfectly content with them using the same base printing, as long as there isn't another Bruce Wayne! -darthperson
