What if LEGO changed the name of the Castle theme?
Derek replied to -The Hyphen-'s topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Quite frankly, if it means that a Castle theme is continued, I really don't care what the hell you call it... In all seriousness, I really don't think a name change should change the line we have seen since '07. If anything, changing the name means that Lego wishes to broaden the possibilities for sets. I'm hoping for more MMV styled sets, as I'm pretty sure its been selling well because it has been on the top 25 seller list since its release almost a year ago. -
I don't know if this has been discussed, (Sorry for not wanting to go through 11 pages of "OMG I LOVE THIS! IM GONNA BUY IT!") but it looks like the Captain's daughter has a new face...its about time...

What should there be in the next Agents theme?
Derek replied to Batbrick's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Why???? Unfortunately, I would be surprised if Agents was continued next year. While it was great while it lasted, lines like this don't last for more than 2 years. But who knows, maybe it will be like Exo-Force and have a third year, as long as the sets are actually good. -
This is getting really . While I am all for a new helmet for the Hoth troopers, I wish that Lego would have done it this year for the Hoth set. There haven't been Hoth sets for a while now, and now there will be only one with the white helmets. It sounds really nitpicky and dorky, but I wish Lego would have produced them for this year's release.

Wow! Both of those look very nice! I love how great the ostrich looks in flesh color! These are two animals I never thought we would see in official Lego, and I am very impressed!

Get a job like other people do to make money??? This set looks great, but I won't be getting it anytime soon. I like all of the interior details, but for some reason, the exterior seems a little bland, almost like its missing something. A nice surprise! -darthperson

Agreed. One or two of these guys with a few extra parts for a handle would make a good mug or cup. This is the exact size of buildings I wish Lego would make for the modular building series. I would definitely buy a bunch of them to build a street, but with the current $150 a pop for modular buildings, it isn't too cheap... Nice Moc! -darthperson

Wow. This is great! The actual MOC is fantastic, and it sends a good message as well. I like the mop in the cafe! -darthperson

Look at my last post, the set isnt huge in the pics, but its there.

That's kindof definitely a Bantha picture in the background. I thought we moved on from this dicussion like last week?

Ok, fine, I'll use that $10 to make up for the markup even if I'm wrong! I do think that there is a chance that it could be under $40, possibly $35...It all depends on if its an exclusive or not (I hope it isn't) Fingers crossed...

Hold on a minute... Yep, I just threw up in my mouth a little. While these may be a hit or a miss with the kiddies, I will NOT be buying any of them. I barely have enough money in my budget for the other ones. Thanks for the new picture though. -darthperson

I love the new Pig set. It is a little gleam of hope in the otherwise dark (except its brightly colored in reality ) City lineup. I'm looking forward to the other farm sets, especially if the one called "Farmer" in an impulse. -darthperson

All of those sets in that picture look great, especially the Tri-Droid! I don't see why nobody likes it! Thanks a lot!

I'm pretty sure that's what it is, but I'm not positive. But it sounds like it hurts.

More new products from Shop@Home (2009 later half)
Derek replied to Alywin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I agree. For just $5 usd more, you can get 10 figures, and a useful baseplate in the Tictactoe set. I would defiantely but this over the "battlepack" -darthperson -
Well those are intricate miniture sculptures, while these are crude, blocky plastic decorations that are designed for children. It's apples to oranges. But really, these are nice little things for kids, I'm sure that they will end up in many stockings on Christmas eve. -darthperson

Star Wars always has been and always be one of Lego's bestsellers, so I don't think that they have had too much trouble selling it. As for Pirates, I'm not exactly sure how its sales were. No summer sets isn't an idication of it, because they have the sets planned well in advance. In fact, I think that we started to see pictures (or at least set names) by Christmas time, when the Pirates sets were just being released. There are rumors of the discontinuation of the Pirates line by mid-2010. I hope it isn't true, because I think it was one of the best lines in a while. 100% agreeed. I do like the Assassin Droid pack, but the Clone one definately has better figures. The clones were only released in expensive sets before the battle pack, and even the sets they were in only had a maximum of 2 in them. I think that the less iconic status of the assassin droids could have contributed to the lack of sales, I mean the series is called the 'Clone Wars' As for sales failure sets, I don't think the Racers fold-out track sets were flying of the shelf. The ones at my Walmart have been discounted for months now. I don't really like the Racers line too much, except for the Tiny Turbos. -darthperson

Those boxes look waaaay out of proportion with each other...Any "base" set is usually the largest in a wave. I think that this thread should be moved to the Action themes section, because I tried looking for this thread there, but I couldn't find it. I happened to come across it here, and I don't understand why its in General Discussion... -darthperson

Woah! That is a really neat little set! I really love the water tank and the front with the sideways rollcage. The figures are allright, but I think I like the look of this year's... I'm guessing $8-10 USD for this one???

All these words that start with "m" are getting confusing! Mini scale! Midi scale! Minifigure scale! MF! Millennium Falcon! Although I wouldn't buy it, I would love to see how Lego would handle a minfigure scaled AT-AT. Hopefully it would have an interior, unlike the Millennium Falcon.

Agreed. Some of the Creator houses are better than anything we've gotten from the official City line. I just LOVE the Beach House! -darthperson
