I just realized that the new AT-AT is a TRU exclusive, as it is pictured with all the other ones. It made me realize that sets as iconic as this shouldn't be store exclusives, similar to the most recent X-Wing and Luke's landspeeder. I would imagine that they would sell LOADS more if they were widespread releases, especially the X-Wing, which has been out for almost 5 years now, and is STILL on the S@H best seller list. I can already tell this will be the case with the Landspeeder: it's been on backorder since it was released in January. Now sets like the Swamp Speeder, Pirate Tank, Ahsoka's Fighter, Solar Sailer etc. are perfect sets for exclusives, as they are not as well-known, yet still have that coolness/elusiveness factor. Does anyone know how the exclusive sets are decided upon, and how it is decided which stores they are exclusive to?

Thanks for the pics, but I have to admit, my first impression of this set is that its farggin' ugly. I really don't need to buy another set this year, so I think this (might?) be a good thing? -darthperson

Slim to none, unless this wave flies off the shelves...

Yes, perfectly actually. The pupils would match the new figures well. I don't know what you would use for his robes, this torso would be interesting with these pants... Those do look like twins, but they also look very serious: the exact opposite of Fred and George... Another thing that would bother me is the black eyebrows, as they are also flaming gingers And here is the Trixie head from Speed Racer...I think this head would work nicely for Cho, along with the long black Native hair from Indy...

Nice review! I doubt I will ever get this set, but I might reconsider if it's ever on sale (Target on Black Friday, I'm looking at you... ). Also, The head of that Gool guy seems to be the universal (*cough*Bruce Wayne*cough*) head of 2010. It's twice in PoP, also as the market seller, Boba Fett in SW, and Filch in HP... -Darthperson

You know, it's available in black in dozens of other sets from 2008 onward... The cheapest I can think of off the top of my head is the 2009 City Red Sports Car... And the Small Car is a fantastic tiny little set, I highly recompensed it to all Lego fans, even if you don't collect City.

To build an army of ostriches. Duh.

VERY nice and classy review! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this set, as well as the quality of the review as well...

And I believe that Bullseye is Dark Tan...

Good luck with that . This line looks very promising. Thanks for the mini-review! I'm so glad that we are getting some of these unique minifigs that we would have no chance of getting in an official set! Hate to be a bother, but would you either describe and/or take a picture of the bottom of the stand? It looks like a nice piece... Thanks! -darthperson

Because somebody who isn't as smart as you WILL buy it...

I was just looking at the Wikipedia article for the movie and realized that Alfred Molina plays Sheik Amar... This means that he has 3 minifigs based on his character in different movies...isn't that a record or something? -Doc Ock in Spiderman -Satipo in Indy -And now Sheik Amar in PoP... Just thought this was interesting... Thanks for the review! I will probably buy this one as soon as I see it! -darthperson

Slim to none. Since they are property of other toy companies (Hasbro for the Potato heads, maybe the same for Slinky?) it would be surprising to see them in Lego form.

You need to do a super street scape with like x2 or 3 of all the other modulars My Grand Emporium is arriving tomorrow! I can't wait! -darthperson

I have always been a transclear fan, but only if its used in the right places. I think it looks perfect on the Slave I... The past ones have had the "trans-brown" color, so this is a nice change. Now if only they would start using transclear for City vehicle windshields, the transblue is just obnoxious... -darthperson

Haha best official TLC picture ever! Lego has been getting risque with their boxart images...remember the creepy bearded toymaker making out with the chick on the back of the Winter Toy Shop box? Thanks for sharing this info, I cannot wait to place an order once it goes on S@H, I've been looking forward to this set since we first heard about it! -darthperson

Um, maybe because he kindof sortof is a cartoon? Just a hunch... I saw this on the store calendar a few weeks ago, I figured that it would have been pointed out by now... I hope we start to see that hair in more official (City, please) sets. -darthperson

I'm thinking it came from one of the Studios sets... I think its from one of the horror ones...

I am going to laugh my @$$ off when they release a white Boba Fett magnet in a few months for $10 to commemorate the anniversary of ESB

I thought that part was in the 2nd movie? It looks nice, I wonder how much it will cost... And Reaper052, why don't you just get the RC set for Woody? -darthperson

I was looking at this thread from a while back, and thought it was interesting to see now that we know we are getting another wave of sets with fantastic minfigures we never would have even dreamed of a couple years ago. I think now would be a nice time to revive this thread and speculate about a possible other wave... -darthperson

Maybe we should make a separate topic about the alleged TRU exclusive for everyone to say "Hmmm I wonder..." in? In all seriousness, it's a bit of a bother to check this topic every so often for news and see all this talk about the status of this exclusive that may or may not exist. -darthperson

Well if you think about it, there isnt much that would clearly define those movies (especially GoF) without being too movie specific. Sure, it would have been nice to maybe have a Buckbeak in Hagrid's Hut, but what else can you think of that would make a generic Harry Potter set but would still have subtle elements from those movies? Things like Aragog in Hagrid's hut and Bella and Fenrir in the Burrow "reference" the respective movies, but don't make it strictly blatant. You know what I mean? (I'm really tired so sorry if none of that makes sense )

I would totally buy that Andy Warhol styled Stormtrooper one if it was in Men's sizes... It appears to be in Women's
