  1. The U wing is yet another disappointing modern Lego star wars remake.
  2. We just had a fighter tank a few years ago so I really hope it's a UT-AT
  3. My favorite mf mf is the 2014 plain p2 clone, it was the only way to get that mf for years, (and is much better than the newer clone style).
  4. The former because it's similar to Wi-Fi.
  5. That is certainly an interesting acronym to use for Micro Fighters...
  6. Yeah I wish they'd bring back figures for May 4th.
  7. I think I should become a minifigure (Darth Bane)
  8. For years my only Han Solo was the one from the character encyclopedia
  9. I think people who don't let their kids play with their Lego need to watch the Lego movie again. I get some sets being off limits like UCS, but at the end of the day it's still a toy and would be better used being played with than collecting dust on a shelf.
  10. I already knew someone was gonna say this, which is why I said "personally" clarifying it is MY opinion. Of course not everyone is gonna have the same view of what figures should be included in a battle pack, but I and many others think a battle pack should either focus on army buildable figures or have all named characters. I think the Clone/Jedi battle pack should've been separated into two different sets, one with 4 Jedi and the other with 4 clones. Keep in mind the original point of battle packs was to build your army (it said so on the box), I was expressing I was glad that Lego was returning to their roots by focusing more on the troopers then including officers and crew members. Also there are other ways to have small sets include named characters like minifig packs. I don't see why it is so hard for people to understand this, this was a very common complaint in the Lego community back in the day.
  11. My original point is that from roughly 2016-2020 Lego would knowingly only include 1 or 2 of the figure people wanted so they'd have to buy more of the set to get the number of figures they wanted. The 2016 first order battle pack as an example, only gave us 1 regular first order stormtrooper, and back then people just wanted to build an army of FO stormtroopers. Lego nowadays has gotten better about this, so I don't mind paying a bit extra if I get the figures I actually want. The Malgus example has nothing to do with my point, I was just listing the reasons why I personally could live with $20 battle packs.
  12. I don't see why the desirability wouldn't count. Yeah the cost to produce is the same but value is subjective, if a battle pack has 2 stormtroopers and 2 officers many would consider it worse than a battle pack that has 3 stormtroopers and 1 officer. If you wanted to build an army of stormtroopers the value of the latter would therefore be superior.
  13. This was a very interesting in depth analysis. For battle packs I can live with the $20 price point because we've been getting better figures for the most part. From around 2016 - 2020 there was a real problem of battle packs only having 1 or 2 of the figures people actually wanted to army build, like the 2016 First order battle pack for example. I think it's rather interesting that the "small normal sets" really only existed in the "classic era" of LSW, as soon as battle packs came in 2007 they were done for. Unfortunately I think that type of set will never come back at this point. I'd happily watch/read that mini-documentary.
  14. I have no idea why they stopped the $20 duel sets there were so many more they could've done. Yoda vs Dooku, Obi wan vs Vader, Obi wan vs Grievous, etc.
  15. Kind of sad that kids don't play with Lego as much anymore, TikTok and smartphones are a terrible substitute.
  16. I'd rather it just be UCS personally
  17. I still think the bounty hunter battle pack is one of the best of all time, 4 desirable named characters for $15, which is unheard of today. MTT is rumored to have 20 more pieces than the 2014 one so I guess it'll be around the same size.
  18. Fair enough, season 1 and 2 were big when they came out.
  19. I would guess that the majority of the consumer base for Lego Star Wars nowadays is adults. I think Star Wars is only still popular due to nostalgia from adults, most of the Disney plus shows have to bring back characters from the past to get people interested. It's only because the OT and to a lesser extent the prequels/TCW have so many diehard fans that keep the brand on life support that Star Wars has a bit of popularity still, similar to lord of the rings. And yes I'm aware some people here love the sequels and the acolyte but they're still a small minority.
  20. I just don't think it was that serious, it was just fans asking for a set. Having a large social media account means you'll get lots of comments, if they were that bothered by it they would've not made the set. Yeah sadly I think all the 18+ sets are here to stay.
  21. Yeah I do the same with YouTube, I don't watch any of the brain rot Lego content on there. Jang for reviews, Solid bricks for MOCS, the occasional MandR video (set comparisons), RR slugger for high quality Lego videos, besides that I may see a good MOC or stop motion every now and then. Lego YouTube used to be much better before 2020 in my opinion, now it's all Mr Beast style videos, spending $1000s on lining figures up on gray baseplates. On reddit from what I've seen there is a lot of pushback to the army building/scalping side of Lego. Yeah I think this year will just be an anomaly, next year we'll probably get an entire wave of Mando movie sets. They probably just wanted to capitalize on the anniversary this year, and to be fair a lot of the sets we're getting we're due for a remake, or first time set. The thing with 2015-2019 is just that it was way less than 2008-2014, I also wouldn't count the buildable figures. Yeah there we're clone wars sets but a lot of them we're downgrades and small sets, by 2019 people had enough of all the sequel sets and the iconic clone wars sets we're overdue for remakes. Lego listened to what the fans wanted and here we are today. The majority of people were happy with the dark falcon, and the reviews I've seen are positive. There's always gonna be people who'd rather have something else, it's just the way it is. The 212th would've made more sense since the AT-TE came out that year. The 501st battle pack movement was awesome, the community came together and campaigned for a set they wanted. Lego benefitted greatly by making tons of money off the set by selling it at twice the amount of a normal battle pack. It was a win win situation, not sure why anyone would be upset about that. I participated as well, it was a fun moment for the community. Keep in mind at that time it had been years since the last real clone battle pack.
  22. Yeah it definitely made more sense for those years to have a dominant subtheme since it was new content as opposed to 2025. My point was just that it has happened before, granted probably not 90% as Mr Studpants said but I don't think this year is 90% clone wars either. Yeah I'm not on Instagram or any social media accept Youtube and Reddit(yeah I know it sucks), Eurobricks is my main source of community opinions from the Lego community, maybe it's different on Tik Tok. Last year definitely skewed OT though, we got two UCS sets, a $160 set in the summer wave, multiple buildable characters, Desert skiff, boarding tantive, 2 Midi scale, $40 battle pack, mech...
  23. 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009 would beg to differ. Over the last 10 years overall I still think the OT has had the most consistent amount of sets on shelves, especially considering many sequel sets were just recolors of the same vehicles. Yeah pretty much my thoughts as well. Are the clone bros with us in the room right now? Seriously though I've seen more complaining about clone bros on this forum then actual clone bros. Last year the only clone wars sets we got were a clone battle pack and a micro fighter, no one was melting down like people on this forum. It's just one year of Lego Star Wars, if you walk into a store the variety is still pretty good, which at the end of the day is more important for the average LEGO fan.
  24. I feel like a lot of people here are being a dramatic when it comes to the number of Clone Wars sets, We don't even have pictures yet and people are already saying it's the worst year of Lego Star Wars. We've had a decent number of OT sets the past 5 years so I don't think anyone is really starved. There were years when we had mostly Sequel and OT sets, it's just how it is sometimes.
  25. Only 10 droids is a bit disappointing, at least it's more then the last one though.
