I think the thought process is "It's yellow like Fred's hair!" I initially had the same thought, but I think it's pretty unlikely. Granted there's not really a perfect piece for his hair as things currently stand, so unless Lego makes a new mold his hair is bound to be something not overly fitting (That is if indeed we are getting that theme, which has yet to be confirmed). I will say it's not impossible, Lego has made a lot of questionable hair choices for characters over the years (Black Widow and Hawkeye looking and being colored nothing like their movie counterparts). Fred has had spiky hair before, but that was in a live action TV movie and his hair was also black at the time. So while he's had that hairstyle before it's never been in that color. It's always possible Warner Brothers just decided to redesign the gang again (With another live-action movie in the works they might have just decided to redesign them). Truthfully I don't think this hairpiece is for anything superhero related. Trickster seems like a long shot and I can't think of anyone else who matches this.

What? We've been talking about it, since yesterday in fact, with both the picture and the album it came from being posted already here (link posted one post above yours in fact). Also the first two of those have already been pointed out in this thread...

I got it from the Marvel thread. http://imgur.com/a/BiGaw And it could be from Series 14, but I'm a bit skeptical since series 13 isn't even out yet. And having a 14 written on it could mean a lot of things. In the last batch of molds that included the series 13 stuff I don't recall seeing any writing to identify where the parts were being used, so I don't see why this would. It could be labelled for a multitude of reasons, it could indicate where it's being used, or possibly it was from a batch of test pieces or maybe even the seller wrote on it. I guess we won't know for sure until Lego releases some news. Looking at that album again it's too bad that yellow hairpiece isn't in the right style for Fred's hair, perfect color though.

Someone in the Licensed section posted an album of new parts for 2015. I'd say this piece probably belongs to this theme, seeing as it's spooky. Perhaps a head piece for a headless horseman. That's at least the first monster that comes to my mind when I see this. Unfortunately if it does belong to this theme it doesn't really give us a hint on whether or not this is a licensed theme. There is a headless horseman in a Scooby Doo episode, but it's a pretty common story, so that doesn't help. It's a neat looking piece though, definitely is making me excited about this theme.

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (Video Game Discussion)
strangely replied to The Joker1's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
That Terra is absolutely perfect, it even has printing that Lego could actually do. Somehow though, I'm doubting Lego will give us a Teen Titans set anytime soon, with the Justice League dominating the sets next year and the Batman v. Superman sets coming after that it could be years before we get a set... Hopefully the customisers/bootleggers will make these if Lego doesn't. Though if that live-action Titans show does well there's a chance I guess. Really the games are almost mocking anymore, it's just a collection of minifigures we either won't see for years or ever... -
I doubt the Mystery Machine will be changed much. At the end of the day it's always been a van, the main difference between incarnations being the hood. And I definitely agree about the minifigures. The clothing in the show is exactly the same as usual except for Daphne's shoes. Really the only thing they could do is give them cartoon eyes instead of traditional Lego faces, but if that's the case there's some easy substitutes for Fred and Daphne right off the bat (Shaggy and Velma pose a problem with the goatee and glasses). Somehow though I doubt Lego will make the cartoon eye mistake again for human characters. Hopefully they give us some confirmation on what this new theme is supposed to be soon. I'm betting on Scooby Doo right now.

Probably a coincidence. Two separate designers building the same thing are bound to have similarities. Neat project though.

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (Video Game Discussion)
strangely replied to The Joker1's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I think it's red, it might just be the lighting for that area they're in as she looks pretty washed out in general (Her skin in particular). The designs are interesting, Raven is based on her comic appearance while Starfire on the animated series. Granted that's probably the way it should be as Starfire's comic book appearance is all around terrible in the New 52 (Granted I didn't like her costume even in the original comics). Overall they're really good designs. Hopefully these become actual minifigures at some point. With Cyborg coming next year I'm really itching to finish off my Teen Titans line-up. I suppose if Lego drags their feet than either a good custom or bootleg will show up eventually. -
Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
strangely replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
Some of his designs mimic the game exactly, while others are originals (Quite impressive at that). His Hulkbuster and Venom are different from the Bootleg versions. His Hulkbuster is noticeably different and Venom is lacking the raised printing of the bootlegged version. So those particular Bootlegs are not based off his designs it would seem. Plus the Venom looks like the design from the game anyway (His Hulkbuster is very original though, I love that you can fit a minifig in it). As for Rhino and Juggernaut we actually can't tell for sure yet if they're his designs. There are several customs I've seen floating around Ebay, so it could be any of those. And plus they're using the game designs by the looks of it. Right off the bat I can say it's unlikely that Rhino is his design, as the bootleg one looks to be more muscular (Like the game version) than his (I prefer his version though). Really though, the only way to guarantee a custom mold won't be stolen is to not sell it. The bootleggers apparently buy the custom bigfigs and make a mold from them. So customisers beware. -
Hopefully the Mystery Machine turns out better than the Character Building version which is absolutely atrocious. I'm hoping the minifigures don't end up with molded heads or clone wars eyes. Hopefully this theme sells well, I'd like it to continue long enough to get at least the most iconic of the classic monsters. I'm really hoping for Space Kook, the Creeper, Charlie the haunted robot, the tar monster and Captain Cutler (We have the diving helmet, but not in a ghostly glowing green). Fortunately for most other Scooby villains Lego has a similar minifigure available. We have plenty of ghosts, witches, wizards, goblins, frankenstein monsters, black knights, mummies and Vampires already, so we really only need the more oddball monsters. Really this theme will fit pretty well into the Lego world. I'm wondering who the rumored swamp monster will end up being. I can only recall a few swamp related villains. I recall the werewolf, witch, zombie and Mr. Hyde hid out in a swamp in the original show, but none of them look like swamp monsters specifically... Maybe the tar monster, I always thought he looked like he belonged in a swamp.

That teasers pretty awesome. There's definitely a lot of material that could end up in sets. I'm hoping that monorail makes it into a set along with the gate, it would be awesome if all the sets could combine into a complete park. It'll be a vehicle heavy theme for sure (We did see three vehicles in the first six seconds of the teaser after all). Hopefully they'll add a few new Dino's to the mix other than the D-rex. I would love a Mosasaurus.

I doubt that. I think for some characters the hair is produced as a separate piece and then glued onto the head, which we've seen for parts before.

http://www.thebrickf...coming-in-2015/ I'm hoping this turns out to be right. Anyways I doubt they'd use molded heads. They're normal humans, and their style in the new show wouldn't translate into molded heads very well at all. The new character designs feature stick thin necks and rounded heads, right off the bat Shaggy, Velma and Daphne would be impossible to imitate in style for a molded head, the neck just isn't possible. It works for the Simpsons because those characters have thick necks, next to no chins and odd and sometimes pointed heads, with almost everyone having hair styles that don't even remotely match existing Lego pieces. The Simpsons would've needed specialty hair pieces even if the heads were normal, so one way or the other Lego would be stuck with a large amount of new molds. Scooby on the other hand wouldn't necessarily need new molds, even for hair. There's a similar hair piece for almost all of those characters, and Lego has a large selection of existing parts that they could use for monsters. Really Scooby Doo himself is the only character that would completely require a new mold. At the end of the day molded heads would be pointless and just an extra strain on the budget. Plus the Character Building molded heads looked awful, and I doubt they'd repeat that mistake again. Plus even if they take inspiration from the new show that's no guarantee they'll stick to those character designs for the minifigures. On top of having that show there's also several DTV movies produced every year utilizing their classic designs. So creating a one show specific toy would be a mistake, especially when the classic animation is still in use all the time.

http://www.thebrickfan.com/rumored-2015-lego-sets-including-brand-new-theme/ I'm betting on Scooby Doo. It's retro and kid friendly. Plus there's going to be a new show next year, so I'd say odds are good. Character Building has had the license for a while, but I don't think they've done anything new with it since 2013... Plus after checking their product page I see only two things are left, so it sort of looks like their license is running out. I don't see it being Ghostbusters though, I don't think they have enough of a kid audience to support a theme.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
strangely replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yes, the color is different than the Green Goblins, but that doesn't mean anything. The piece is probably going to be used in the CMF first, but that doesn't mean they can't make a differently colored version later. Changing colors is easy. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion

I will agree that the cap length is shorter than usual, but other than that it's almost completely a match (And the exact length of the hat has varied from artist to artist). I mean the widows peak seems awfully specific. They could have just recolored the elf hat since it's just the same type of hat except shorter and with a rounded brim if they just wanted to throw out a generic goblin. I think it's pretty likely that Lego designed this piece with multiple uses in store. And it wouldn't be the first time Lego used the CMF to introduce a piece that ultimately was used in a licensed set. The forest maiden's hair was used for Leia within the same year even, and otherwise that piece hasn't been used at all. And we know Lego has a limited budget for each set, so introducing a new mold in the CMF would be a good cost cutting measure. On another note I think the hot dog guy might be my favorite CMF to date. I've been tiring of the animal costumes and this has been a welcome and unexpected change. -
I'd say they're too similar, but honestly how much different should they be anyways? At the end of the day they're representing the same basic animal, so color variation is probably about all we could expect to begin with, and with the Lego color palette there are limited options with that anyhow. Plus re-using existing molds has got to be good for cost, hopefully the JW sets won't be as bare as the last Dino theme was. The Raptors are pretty awesome, definitely can't wait to see the sets.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
strangely replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
So we got a piece that looks exactly like Gwen Stacy's hair in the CMF and now we have a perfect Green Goblin hat (widows peak and all) in the CMF as well. I'd say this points to a Spider-man set next year. If not then Lego is playing a very mean joke. It could be coincidence I suppose, but this hat is just too spot on. And it seems odd that Lego would put out another Goblin hat/head piece with the wide range they already had with the LOTR/Hobbit sets they made. This feels too specific to be for a one off CMF minifigure. And since the forest maidens hair ended up being used for princess Leia there is a precedent for using CMF pieces in licensed sets. So it certainly is a possibility. -

DC Comics: Justice League vs. Bizarro League
strangely replied to Cagast's topic in Culture & Multimedia
That's a valid question, but you could ask the same thing about Batman V Superman... At the end of the day it's just a nonsensical title that looks good on a poster but in reality doesn't actually describe the movie all to well. Plus it's easy for kids to understand; two groups are fighting each other. That's all any kid needs to hear to be interested in anything superhero related. -
I'm not overly surprised this happened. Lego has been slowly edging themselves into the adult market for a while, this set is just more of that. Granted this show has a lot of things in it that don't really fit into the Lego standards, but I'm sure the rules don't apply the same when making a product directed almost completely at adults and teenagers. Whereas the Simpsons had appeal to most audiences this set definitely isn't intended for kids.

I still can't tell if Supergirl's eyes are heat vision or not. I'll just have to wait for a higher quality image.
-
I don't see the heat vision eyes on Supergirl, just an angry face. And Superman could just have the MOS head.
-
Well I'm not overly surprised about Superman, especially after seeing the Javelin. But I'm pleasantly surprised about Supergirl. Batzarro is interesting, but it's odd that the new cowl isn't being used. Come to think of it none of the New 52 designs are being used on that cover. It's odd how Lego is picking and choosing when to use new 52 designs. It almost seems random... I'm hoping the animation quality is on par with the last movie rather than the beleaguered episode that just came out. Though based on how odd that batarang on the cover looks I'm going to guess this will look like the beleaguered animation...

That's more or less what I was thinking. Though I'm not entirely sure about Alfred, it seems like they should save him for a Wayne manor type set or something big rather than a one off exclusive.
