  1. I think it's to be expected. The reality is all of these minifigures end up getting new molds, they just happen to be head/hair molds and so accessories are the thing that gets left out. At least with the new Disney molds they're actually reusable whereas the Simpsons heads will never work for anything else. It's an interesting lineup of characters, but I can see the logic behind the choices. Many of these characters, while sporting classic designs, have either a sequel/reboot/remake that's either already come out or is going to come out. Then there's Peter Pan, Hook and the Mickey Mouse clubhouse. I'm assuming the respective TV shows that feature them are the primary reasons they ended up in the first wave (Or in the case of Mickey the reason why the three with him got included as he probably would have been included regardless).
  2. May, that's been confirmed for quite a while now.
  3. Amazing, these are already coming out and yet we still don't have pictures of them from any other angle.
  4. Where? Seriously I was speed reading the new comments and I glanced over yours without processing the words and suddenly I found my brain falling down a flight of stairs. Really though you better not be joking. WHERE! #IHATEAPRILFOOLS #IDONTKNOWWHATTOBELIEVEANYMORE
  5. I'd say the knock-off look is because of the terrible lighting. That's giving everything a weird color and texture. It also doesn't help that some of these character designs aren't very Lego and so they don't look too real even in the official pictures (Incredible and Syndromes eyes seem very off for the Lego style). Better question: Why didn't they take pictures of the side we haven't seen??? Seriously I'm anxious to see what these look like from literally any other angle. It would also be nice to find out if there's any alt faces.
  6. I was wrong, it doesn't say "Eat Me" on the cookie. That's so strange that they went to all the trouble to make it look like the cookie she eats but forget the most important detail about it. Seeing Alice's dress up close and from another angle helps, it doesn't look as odd to me. I only hope if we get another series of these there's more Wonderland characters. I'm really loving Alice and the Cheshire Cat.
  7. Awesome! Alice doesn't look so fat now, her face looks a lot better. She has not only the "Drink Me" bottle but also the "Eat Me" cake. My only problem with her is that the dress is too wavy. I suppose I'll get used to it. It's almost a little weird to see so many minifigures wearing shoes. It's also a bit jarring that only half of these have accessories. Granted for some of them I wouldn't know what to include. They probably could have thrown in a ray gun for Stitch. Overall I do like this series quite a bit. Admittedly I'll only buy a few of these, but that's simply because I don't like all those franchises. I actually think it's on there, but the sun is making it hard to read. I'm not for sure though, it just looks like there's a smudge of something in the center.
  8. That would be interesting, given that he only got the chance to play Harvey Dent and not Two-Face. It would be very interesting to see him in the role he was always intended to have. On closer examination a few observations: *Penguin has tan skin, like Palpatine *Catwoman has leg printing *Harley has printing on the sides of her legs as well as her arms *Harley seems to have a beauty mark on her face *Two-Face has side leg printing on one side *Poison Ivy has green leaves printed on her hair opposite to the white flower
  9. Not including Croc/Bane/Clayface there's actually only nine new elements. Also several of these parts (Harley and Ivy's hair, fur collar, umbrella, top hat and the bowler hat) are still generic enough they could be used elsewhere. So it's possible that some of these pieces might debut before any of the merchandise from the movie hits shelves. As for the bigfigs I don't see all of them being made. Killer Croc is being released this summer as a Bigfig. Add in his unusual stud connections on his feet along with the classic Lego croc head and it sort of feels like he's not happening. The other three seem pretty possible. I'd expect Clayface to be scaled down to some degree. I would really love to have that Batwing in a set. As tired as I am of most bat vehicles that design just looks too good. Very detailed and very sturdy looking. I just can't help but want it.
  10. Lego Twitter and the Lego Youtube page. Edit: Ninja'd
  11. I'm a little surprised they didn't update the Justice League more. Most of them look the same. In addition to Green Arrow it does look like Cyborg is new. I almost didn't notice it, but then I realized that the two red circles on his torso printing are placed differently than the current version. The top one isn't in the center anymore. Also after going through it frame by frame I'm noticing some brown printed at the top of the torso, it gives me the impression they're using some version of his older tank top look. I'm glad for a new Cyborg, I'm not the biggest fan of the current one.
  12. Lots of new pieces. Riddler has a suit, a proper cane and a hat with hair. Penguin has a new top hat and I think a closed umbrella piece (Which I'm hoping means there's a new open umbrella piece). Catwoman is awesome, love those goggles. Poison Ivy is my favorite, the printing is fantastic, her face and torso look great. I love the dual molded arms, the skirt and the hair. Harley is my second favorite. It's like they crossed her Suicide Squad movie costume with her BTAS costume. And the roller skates are great, I had that same idea. Hairpiece might be a bit much, but I still kind of like it. Two-Face gives me a Batman Forever vibe with that purplish coloring. Bane is strange, the collar feels like too much. Killer Croc is weird and I don't know that I like it that much. At least the mouth has a hinge I suppose. Hopefully they give us all these minifigures (I don't care one way or the other about these particular bigfigs). Alfred is great, new collar, bald cap and a cloth element to represent coattails. I sort of hope they start using cloth elements more often for longer coats, it looks like it works pretty well. Batman's robe cloth piece is intriguing too, but complex enough that I'm doubting that I'm doubting we'll get one that matches (A simplified version maybe).
  13. Yes, his head has a tongue printed on one side of his mouth.
  14. It's not really because of art style. For traditionally animated features Disney often films a live action version of the movie to use as reference for the animators, in some instance even tracing the live action footage. Alice herself was modeled after her voice actress, Kathryn Beaumont. By the time they got around to filming the live action footage the actress had begun to mature, so the animated version of her looks a bit more mature than a child should. The animators ultimately drew her with stubbier legs to achieve a more child like appearance (hence her legendary gigantic calves), but that only worked so well. Alice is one of the more oddly proportioned Disney characters, so it's only fitting her minifigure looks strange too. I'm not bothered by it personally.
  15. In the case of Flounder and Sebastian I'm betting Lego is hoping people will buy the sets they appear in to get them. As for the others I'm guessing it has everything to do with the budget for this series. In the case of Pluto I don't think there was really a chance. Mickey already has a new head and dual molded legs and printing. That's already a lot for one minifigure. I think the size would have been a problem too. Mickey already has a gigantic head mold, so sticking a gigantic dog mold in there could have been an issue. I tend to think Pluto might end up being a nearly Scooby Doo sized figure whenever he does appear (Probably in a regular set).
  16. Her face is a bit smaller. That's generally what they do with child characters, they adjust the facial features to imply their youth.
  17. To me, I consider the stud showing as a character being bald. In the case of Vision his head covering looks more like a helmet, so a stud doesn't make sense to me since he isn't really bald, nor is he really human either. As for Spider-Man he's wearing a mask that covers over hair, so a stud showing doesn't make sense to me either. Plus we've had dozens of Spider-Man, nothing wrong with trying something new.
  18. After seeing Black Panthers new headpiece I'm kind of hoping one day they create a piece for Spider-Man that covers the stud on his head, really they could use that for Vision too.
  19. I don't know why I bother writing this as it seems you'll only read the part you want. Adults buy games too. It doesn't really matter if kids know Mr. T or like him. He's just a nostalgic throwback they've put in game for the adult gamer's, likely in an attempt to get adults to buy into the game. And who knows, maybe he's part of a greater franchise that just hasn't been revealed. Maybe there's some sort of classic wrestling license or some 80's land or whatever else. We really have no idea how he'll be included in the game at this point. It's an odd choice, but it's hard to say it's a failure when we don't even know how he'll factor in.
  20. And as I pointed out they clearly want adults to buy into too. So it's no real mystery why the likes of Mr. T are included.
  21. I never said any kids would be clamoring to play as him. Like several franchises available in game he's clearly aimed more at adults, after all a large portion of gamers are adults, it would be entirely short sighted of Lego to only choose franchises and characters that only kids like. Even Dr. Who is clearly more aimed at adult fans than child fans. This game is clearly meant to appeal to a wide variety of people of all ages. The majority of the licenses in the game include a heavy amount of nostalgia. They're obviously interested in getting young and old into the game. Adventure Time surprises me just because it's much newer than almost any other franchise in the game (Excluding the Lego brand franchises).
  22. The new guitar is awesome. Glad to see a proper blonde set of pigtails for Harley Quinn. Too bad we'll be waiting a while for these.
  23. Mr. T is pretty iconic in himself. I would rather see new franchises and minifigures in this game then constantly adding more and more from the same franchises. Dr. Who got two packs, which is more than I can say for many other franchises in this game. People could be pitching a fit and foaming from the mouth over not getting the protagonists from the Lord of the Rings and the Wizard of Oz, but most accepted that. If Dr. Who is so wildly popular like you seem to believe than Lego will do more down the line and if it isn't at least you got two packs, a level and a part in the main game (Plus an Ideas set). And just because you don't think something or someone is popular enough to deserve a spot in this game doesn't mean there aren't people that do. Everyone has different tastes and Lego is trying to appeal to a wide range. Mr. T may seem like an odd choice, but like most franchises in this game there is the nostalgia factor and I think people will ultimately love the gimmick of playing as Mr. T. Now we just need Chuck Norris...
  24. They're not shown in the picture, so it's possible. Peter Pan is in the same age group and they gave him normal legs, so I'd say it's likely Alice will have normal legs too.
  25. Alice's face looks weird because she's a child. Most of the Lego children have different proportions to their face than adult minifigures. For female children usually the mouth and eyebrows are shortened in width and the eyelashes are reduced to a single line as can be seen in this picture of Ava from Nexo Knights: On Alice it's particularly noticeable as her hair is tied back, showing more of the head, thus causing her to seem oddly proportioned. Most other children minifigures either have freckles or hairpieces that hide the excess space, so that's why Alice looks particularly different.
