    I could see Scrooge's hat being used with a new hairpiece for the Mad Hatter. I feel like he'd be a good choice for a CMF.

    I think Anna's new hair piece from the Frozen 2 sets might work well for Hermione (In a different color though).

    It could be that Lego is going to try something new, they might just be ditching conventional sets. Honestly it would be great if they just packaged a minifigure with a small build and sold them individually. Mega Construx sells characters individually, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Lego try that out.

    The inside is a little plain in the center section, but otherwise I like the design of the station. Minnie's cloth skirt is interesting, but I'm wondering if it's execution in the actual set will look as good as it does in the renders.

    I expected to skip this set, but after seeing the picture, I actually love it. I'll definitely be buying this. Nice to see the station included too.

    That seems reasonable. I wonder if Lego is just doing smaller production runs rather than dumping the sets entirely, which honestly might be a better idea. I feel like a lot of times they over produce on certain themes and then can't move the stock. So perhaps doing smaller production runs and only producing more if there's a demand would be the better for these type of themes.

    It's too bad if this info turns out to be true, I was at least hoping to get Mei before the theme ended. It's at times like these where I wish Lego would just confirm or deny rumors. After the set leaks happened they could have just denied it then. Instead people had just enough time to get their hopes up, so it's definitely a bit more disappointing as a result. Still, who knows, maybe we'll get something after all. Maybe the next two sets will sell well. To some degree, I think Lego just chose a bad strategy with these sets. They should have aimed them more at adults. Even at it's height, I don't really think Overwatch was heavily popular with kids. Most of the other Overwatch products feel more like they're for teens/adults, so Lego probably should have followed suit. These sets always looked out of place crammed between Harry Potter and Ninjago...

    Okay, so Indiana Jones is 'fantasy violence', but Stranger Things is 'Sci-fi violence', it's really not that different. Neither are particularly realistic. And Temple of Doom leans pretty heavily into horror elements, it's pretty well known for those elements. I simply disagree that scenes depicting ritual sacrifice and child torture are somehow less visceral than people melting into monsters. And why does how violent it is even matter? The set is clearly directed at adults. It's at a high price point, it was a midnight release, it's available at limited retailers and the set itself is designed as a display piece with limited to no play features. Why does this license need to be child appropriate for Lego to make 'adult oriented' sets. Whether people like it or not, Lego licensed Stranger Things, clearly they're willing to operate by a different set of rules when the target audience isn't children. So I don't think anyone can definitely say "Lego will never make sets based on season 3" since only a few months ago people were saying "Lego will never make Stranger Things sets". Clearly things have changed at Lego, so we currently don't have a metric for what Lego will adapt now that they've gone further than they ever have before.

    In Temple of Doom a guy gets stabbed through by a shish kabob, a man's heart is ripped out, a guy is crushed by a machine which covers the machine in blood, Indy is forced to drink blood. To say nothing of the child slavery and body parts lying around...

    I don't find the concept of the monster to be too bad. In Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated that show ended with a monster consuming the citizens of Crystal Cove to make itself more powerful. So, if Scooby Doo can use that as a plot point... Sure, we see it more directly in Stranger Things, but the concept is the same. As for the Hospital episode, there's just two meltings and that's it. I mean Nancy and Jonathon get a little beaten up, but not too much more than anyone else in this show. And I don't really feel like the meltings are that big of a deal. The characters even discuss that the flayed being able to eat those chemicals and not die is inhuman, so by that point they're basically not people anymore.

    Yeah, it's been discussed since the third season came out. But okay. I rewatched the main melting scene, only 4 people are actually seen melting and the melting itself is roughly 16 seconds of the 45 seconds this scene lasts (I'm not counting the goo forming the mind flayer since by that point it's basically 'the blob'). And I think only 2 people melted in the episodes before that (And most of these meltings happen in poor lighting). By contrast, the melting/exploding in Raiders of the Lost Ark is roughly 8 seconds long (not counting the crowd of Nazi's that get fried immediately before this). I mean, watching these two scenes back to back I can't really say which is more violent or gross, it's kind of a draw. I think people give Indiana Jones a free pass because it's a 'classic', and have had decades to get used to that violence. Let's be real, Lego makes decisions that seemingly go against their 'standards' all the time. Many people believed this theme could never exist as a Lego theme, but here we are. I think people need to let go of their preconceived notions of Lego standards. Clearly when aimed at adults Lego is willing to play by a different set of rules, which is why we have this license at all and why there's a bloody severed arm in the Jurassic Park set. Lego is for adults now too, it's time to accept that and let it go.

    Why do we keep having this discussion? For some it's too violent, for some it's not, but ultimately Lego will decide whether they do additional sets.

    She's just a memorable character is all. She was really likeable, very unique looking and what happens to her is shocking, unceremonious and tragic. She left an impression that sticks with the general audience. She's one of the earliest deaths in the show and she's still being mentioned in the show even now. And even though she had limited screen time, she managed be pretty important to the story. She was the motivation behind Nancy for two seasons, which in turn affected Jonathon and Steve's stories as well as the cover up narrative around the Hawkins Power Company. So for being a minor character she cast a surprisingly large shadow.

    WTF! This is wrong Lego! So many of us paid that steep price for the set, don't leave us hanging like this! Do a wide release of this minifigure! #JusticeForLegoBarb

    As an adult, I just feel really confused why Stranger Things is such a hot button issue here. I mean, if this set was being developed and marketed for children, I would probably have some qualm with that, but that's not the case here. It's a display piece with no typical play features, it's a 16+ age range, it has a hefty price tag that pretty much guarantees a child couldn't purchase it without parental assistance, and the commercials definitely seemed to lean on adult oriented nostalgia. I feel like Lego can make adult sets and child sets and have different standards for both. Lego is supposed to be for everyone, I'm not sure I understand this insistence to neglect adult audiences just because a license may not always go hand in hand with the children audience. So long as the sets are good quality and targeted at the appropriate audience, I don't really see what the issue is. I'm glad Lego is going this direction and finally making content just for adults.

    I mean, it's not really a risk, Stranger Things is one of the most popular brands around right now. People love the show, so I think association with Lego is being viewed generally as favorable. At worst, there might be a few pearl clutching parents out there who are upset, but let's be real, those people probably aren't shelling out $200 for a Lego set in the first place, so who cares. And it doesn't really seem like Lego is concerned either. They included a bloody, severed arm in the Jurassic Park Gate set, at this point it seems like they're embracing adult oriented sets.

    I could be wrong, but it looks like Roadhog's head is actually a separate minifigure head. On the top of the box art his face is looking straight forward, but in the front picture his head is turned slightly to the side, plus in one of the closeups you can actually see his neck below the hairpiece. Overall I really love these two sets. Hopefully we got one more wave after this. I still really need Mei and Torbjorn. Sombra would be welcomed too.

    I don't buy the whole licensing excuse. Lego licensed cars for the Speed Champions line, including multiple Ford vehicles, but they can't do a Ford Explorer? Why would that happen to be the one model they can't license? As for scale, they even featured a minifigure scale version of the gate in the designer video (If I buy the set, I'll actually be using the pieces to build that smaller version of the gate). To me, it seems like they wanted to make a big T-rex (Since they had the basic design sitting on a shelf anyways), so they over-sized the gate to match. I feel like they could have went with the smaller gates, an Explorer and a molded T-rex and it probably would have been $50-$100 less.

    Honestly, if there was some guarantee that there will be more Jurassic Park sets in the future, I don't think the lack of a Visitor's Center or an Explorer would be an issue. But they've done so few sets for the movie and this last set crammed so many movie scenes into the back of the gate, making it feel like there might not be any more for the first movie.

    None, I never said that we've had a 27" long brick built T-rex before. My point is that while it's an awesome build, its two largest builds are movie elements that have been adapted into Lego before. Yes, there is some scale, build and branding differences, but that doesn't stop it from being another Jurassic franchise set featuring a gate and a T-rex. I like the set, it looks great. It just would have been nice for them to adapt something we haven't had in any form before.

    It doesn't help that out of two Jurassic Park sets we haven't gotten the Explorer yet. Honestly, had the explorer been included I wouldn't have a problem with this set. The gate and Trex have been done before (at smaller scale and with JW branding), so throwing in an element (like the explorer) that we've never had in any form would have been a saving grace. Getting a couple of recycled minifigures is disappointing too. Ellie could have had her shirt color updated given that a more accurate color was introduced into the color pallette. Alan could have had a new facial expression. It's a great set, but doesn't really give us much more than we've had before.

    I think the only reason I voted for it was because I wanted the explorer, and was desperate to get anything Jurassic Park. Notably, the Visitors Center also had 10,000 supporters.

    I like the gate. I think the scale is great and it's fairly detailed. I've yet to see the other side of it, so I'll have to reserve judgement on that. Not a fan of the T-rex though. I mean, it's a good design, but I've been buying Dinosaur sets featuring molded Dinosaurs for years, so this one brick-built one doesn't really fit in with the rest. The inclusion of the toilet without Gennaro is an odd choice. Makes me wonder if there's an unannounced set or something to fill this gap. Then again, looking at my Disney Castle, some of the rooms still don't have the proper characters, so perhaps I shouldn't waste my time reading into this.
