I just saw the new knit hat/hair combo and I can't help but theorize that's going to be recolored for Hermione next summer. She wears that hat in multiple movies and the hairstyle is pretty close to hers.

I'm excited to see this GWP. I'm hoping it's basically just a remake of 4722.

After reading the Hospital wing description, I don't really expect that it'll actually recreate the clock part of the clocktower. The three sections connected by a hinge so they can be angled tends to suggest that it'll more likely recreate the angled windows at the the end of the wing (which is the picture they used in the article). I am most looking forward to this set. It would be great to get some battle damaged versions of the characters rather than just recycling the old designs again. I'm interested in seeing the DADA classroom. I'm hoping they decide to include the stairs/balcony section since that really hasn't made it into a set yet. Short legs for Neville and Hermione is a strange choice. Moody seems like a bad choice give that he'll likely be a more bare bones version than what we got in the CMF, but at least it opens up the possibility of new face expressions. The trunk sounds interesting, but there's just not enough information for me to really picture what it's supposed to be.

Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
strangely replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I believe it's dark brown, which is the same color released for Wonder Woman, so that's not new. But I also don't really think this piece looks very MJ to begin with. I have no qualms with the face. My main issue is that in 2 variations she's had one exclusive part total. Civilian characters, even ones that are main parts of the cast, tend to get less care put into their design. I also think it's slightly insulting that MJ keeps getting saddled with teenage boy torsos. Would it kill them to design a hoodie/flannel shirt for a girl? -

Yes, it's been in stock at my local Target since the sets dropped. -

I like the sets, but it is disappointing they didn't give us the Homemade suit. I also don't like that MJ is completely recycled pieces, but that's sort of the standard for civilians in this line. Oh well. Pleased overall though. -
Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Thorin's crown is quite a bit bigger than Wanda's, so I personally don't see it as proof that Wanda's ultra thin and small crown could have been done in the same style, at least not without getting bumped up in size. -

I like Wanda's design. I don't mind there not being a hip skirt, I feel like the cloth skirts are usually pretty bad, so I'm glad the minifigure looks good without it. I don't mind the hairpiece situation. Dual molding would have been nice, but I don't know if it would have been possible at this scale, when I think of the other dual molded hair pieces I think they're a bit bigger, so her crown may have been too small to dual mold. Too, this is how they've been approaching the Wonder Woman tiara for the last decade, so at this point I'm used to this approach. Hopefully they include a hood for her too. -
Yes, 99% of the world is definitely heterosexual in all places at all times and all media must abide by the exact reality of current world demographics, got it. Lol

I feel the frustration.. I ordered mine on midnight the day it came out, even sprang for express shipping, and they lost it and haven't found it yet. -
It's not a lie, trans people are not denying biology when asking for pronouns. There's a big difference between sex and gender. Here's a video that helped me understand it:

[REVIEW] 40516 - Everyone is Awesome
strangely replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Lego is an educational toy at heart. Beyond the basics of building, Lego teaches about the world and society in general. Friends for instance heavily revolves around the culture, diversity and individuality of characters in those sets. City focuses quite a bit on careers and industry. We have plenty of historically inspired Lego sets too, featuring real life individuals from Abraham Lincoln to Sally Ride. Lego is often an outlet to not only expand creativity and imagination but also knowledge. So looking at the brand as a whole, it makes sense that Lego would want to continue diversifying and celebrating more cultures and individuals, it's what they've been doing for decades, so I don't imagine they're going to stop anytime soon. -

Yeah, I've heard about that. I hope their shoppers enjoy imitation brand plastic bricks that don't quite click together right. I can't wait to see what J.K. Rowling does once she finds out that Lego is an ally. Lego should really cast a protection spell before her followers finish that ritual and she regains physical form. -

Once again I'm confused about people feeling that Lego has suddenly gone down such a dark path. Harry Potter is occult, superhero movies have sex and violence. We have themes about pirates and castles (and in those sets they can include alcohol bottles). Was Hidden Side or Monster Fighters not Satanic enough to draw some ire? Why has nobody tried saving my soul in those threads!?! This simply will not do! -
Thanks, good catch!

The thing I dislike about the argument "this is against Lego standards!" is simply that the majority of licenses they take on regularly feature almost everything that violates Lego standards. And oh sure, the sets don't feature those elements, but if the Pride set has to take on all the periphery and politics associated with the concept, than it's only fair that your licensed sets do the same. If you want to say that Lego has a double standard, sure, it's well documented. But maybe examine if you yourself have one if you aren't likewise complaining when Lego makes sets for mature franchises. All in all, I find the general response (beyond the threads here at Eurobricks, though some parts of this thread might apply) to this set rather disheartening. To the people who are tired of hearing about politics, and not wanting it in your hobby, I get that completely. But I'd invite any of you who feel that way to consider how it feels for a person who is confronted by it constantly simply because they exist. I'll say, I'm proud of Lego. They took a stance that will likely cost them in some way either in money or in the court of public opinion, but they took the stance anyway. This gesture makes me feel supported and I'm glad that as a company they'd even bother to make the gesture at all. Good job Lego, you keep on proving how awesome of a company you really are.

It looks like Steve from Stranger Things.
-
The blue hairpiece in the everyone is awesome set is perfect for Steve. Seeing that makes me hope they make another set.

That's for Lego to decide, if they don't feel it's political, it's not. They internally made this decision, so it clearly falls within their interpretation of their standards.

Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I think it's because the MCU MJ and comic MJ are very different from each other and thus might cause confusion for consumers, whereas those other characters are pretty similar in both versions so they're basically interchangeable. -

Betty Brant dressed like a witch... And how taunting is it that they reference #121 by giving Gwen a green coat, but then not actually give her a new print so it still doesn't look good. -

I'm fine with it. Most of those characters already have many variations, so new variations are a bit of a waste. I think it's for the better that they concentrated new parts on new characters. -
FRIENDS 2021 - Rumours & Discussion
strangely replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in LEGO Licensed
I really like how this set turned out. While I'm not a super fan or anything, I think this is a pretty pleasing build in and of itself. I'll definitely bricklink some sticker sheets and minifigures, seems like a lot of useful parks overall. I actually really like the concept of a theme recreating TV show sets, hopefully Lego continues down this path and hits a few other nostalgic shows. Overall, seems like they knocked this one out of the park. -
While I don't really take that tweet as gospel that anything is actually going to happen I tend to think we'll get another set if the popularity of Stranger Things continues on. It seemed like the set was pretty popular and well received, so I feel like odds of another is decent (though not guaranteed).
