    Fantastic! A great model all around, but as is often the case with such models it's the details that really elevate it.

    A bit of idle playing around on Studio... I've always been a big James Bond fan, so I thought why not build Alec Trevelyan's ex-missile-carrying train from the film? Will probably improve it a bit in time and add some carriages, but for now here is the locomotive.

    Modern emergency services vehicles are often now modified commercial options or bolt on boxes to van or truck frames. As for the neon colors, high visibility is all the rage. Colors and enough lights to illuminate a scene from a mile away. And the colours are standardised across most of Europe anyway; ambulances haven't been red and white for some time now.

    I like that, and it looks more like the prototype than the intended model (which looks very much like an F40 that's had its headlights stolen).

    I do wonder if there's scope for a sticky topic about making "ghetto" track though; it's quite a handy thing for L-gauge and until a few weeks ago isn't something I'd ever even realised existed.

    Any time! I really liked the design, it managed that tricky balance of squeezing a lot in whilst also not being overcrowded - I love all of those little details!

    If you want a more permanent fix, would lacquering afterwards work? There might be a tolerance issue if the coat ends up too thick, I suppose.

    Reminded me of this, which might be a fun one to build in Lego: Ma May have to settle for a single-sided version to get it to actually work in an acceptably-wide wagon though.

    One thing to remember with older power supplies is that the voltage with no load is often significantly higher than it will be under load, so measure them with a load applied (obviously building carefully up to the 9V max).

    To be clear, I'm just trying to keep the tooth part centred. The diagonals are just there to fill the awkward gap.

    Can anyone suggest any better way of achieving this half-stud offset in a single-brick wall? My solution's OK, but has a few too-many grooves to be ideal.

    Absolutely fantastic scene! I'd agree that the cars do look bit wide on the streets now, but then so do real F1 cars at Baku

    Also, I think it's best to start with the most complex part (eg the front) and then build the rest from there, rather than the other way around.

    No worries! One extra thing I'd add is that you could also connect it as a ring if you wanted a large number of lights (ie connect lamp 4 to the power supply too). You'd need to do it very carefully though to avoid short circuiting, I'd suggest checking it with a multimeter before plugging it in.
