  1. I thankfully don´t see that happening. I totally see the sense to make skin coloured minifigs as it is much easier to make them recognizable. But all other minifigs should stay yellow. I clearly like the yellow one better and you shouldn´t forget that making flesh toned minifigs would just add more work for the designers.
  2. It looks great indeed. But I belive to make the model they made was the right decision in the end. I think most people prefer to get more minifigures and it is just easier to add details in a set of that size.
  3. You should check if the seals are intact or better if it is for yourself just open it right away. I´ve heard from people that they got Rivendell Sets that got opened, resealed but the minifigs were missing.
  4. Medieval Market Village The plant looks really great, they are doing a good job with the Mario Display Sets.
  5. Hard to say IMO. I mean sure there are many Kids that have Star Wars Sets, because they got it from their Parents. But the Theme always seems dominated by Adult fans kinda. For Harry Potter I would think there really is a big number of Kids and Adults as fans. But without real numbers it is just a guessing game. Anyways I would think LotR would be somewhat near to Star Wars, not in total numbers ofc, but in the relation between adults and kids.
  6. My guess would be both. They would likely try to make sets that suit both Adults and Kids, but also Sets that aim on adults only (like Rivendell). In the end Lego is doing well in selling Star Wars Sets to adults for years , while they still have obviously for kids aiming play features
  7. There are so many space related themes in different themes that it is hard to keep up lol. Especially since all of them got discussed in ten different threats or so ;). So far aside from from the remake/classic ones City ones are sounding most promising to me
  8. Yeah you are right, there are supposed to be two sets as of now. Noone knows what the second set will be yet though. We will see. Might also be we get some GWPs for this, though all of them are not listed to be under the moments theme. But we will see.
  9. The hoverbike was mentioned here first: As for the Interstellar Spaceship is called that way on Brickmerge and likely other sites too. With other sets having Aliens in it we can IMO be quite sure that that City wave will be more space than the other city space sets we had yet, which were pretty much based on nowadays space and not fantasy/future one
  10. Well you never know what they are planning. But i actually don´t think they base whether they would bring back Lord of the Rings as a theme on this set but more if they will bring more sets of that kind. I would like the return of LOTR sets but at this point I doubt Lego has the plan to do so. At least for now. I still have hopes that we will see new Sets for the new movies once they hit the cinemas and then it wouldn´t be unlikely they will make new ones for Lord of the rings too. We have seen the same happening to Harry Potter and Jurrasic Park.
  11. In the end it doesn´t need to compete to Harry Potter this much anyways. I mean Harry Potter has many Kids as fans but also many adults that grew up with the books or films - or that just became fans reading them for their kids/watching it with them. I think with Lord of the Rings it would be similar, just that the percentage of adult fans will likely be greater.
  12. Agreed. I mean in the end kids play with stuff they either see in TV or Stores and want to have them - or just what they were gifted with (well or what one of their friends plays with). They won´t care if they don´t know what the story behind that figures is, or what names the figures have. Then they are just a wizard, a dwarf and a knight for instance ;).
  13. Well, with big I meant more like about 100€ with the other one more in the Range of 50€ or so. Might be that you need 120€ and 70€ for those Sets to make them in a certain size, but they shouldn´t be more expensive than that. And if the themes go well I still can see them to increase the Number of Sets. The point in this system was not to make people think that the Themes are hated, of course I would love for the theme to get more sets the next year. But IMO it would be more likely we get the themes back like that, than that Lego would bring back 3+ Themes at once. Of course you could increase it to two years for each set but that would also increase the time where an theme is absent and the idea kinda is that everyone can get those themes. Of course there are still years where you can´t buy a castle but it shouldn´t be to long.
  14. Leakers said it is a new Subtheme of Icons for the remakes/reimaginations of old sets. The rumoured Blacktron Renegade is supposed to be the first (and IMO only Set yet) that will be in this theme. But if they wouldn´t plan to make more they wouldn´t make a whole theme for it.
  15. Other brands are also selling Castle themes and if they wouldn´t sell they wouldn´t produce them anymore. So that can´t be the reason. I mean sure in the Legoverse Castle isn´t a thing right now because there are simply no sets. Some surely play with the creator castle but there the avaiability is just bad - so most likely don´t even know that that castle exists. If there would be castle Sets Kids would play with them, I am pretty sure of that. Sure, Ninjago would still be way more popular and castle wouldn´t beat Harry Potter either, but it doesn´t need to beat either to be an success IMO. IMO Lego doesn´t need to pull things off that go on and on in this case. I mean they can make an new Castle theme, one big Set, obviously the Castle and then one Medium sized Hideout for some Forestmen, Wolf Bandits or whatever. The Knight can be a new Faction or just the Falcon or Lion Knights, that won´t matter that much. To those two sets they add a number off smaller Sets. A carriage with a princess, a knight and two bandits for instance. So with just 5 Sets in total you could bring Castle back to life. Of course it would be nicer to have more like a second castle for another factions or so etc., but it seems kinda unlikely to me. Anyways the year after they could Switch to another theme, Space or Pirates for istance, again with one bigger Set, lets say a Star Base maybe, then a bigger and a smaller Space ship, each with an little Alien vehicle, then an medium Alien ship and an Set with Minifig and Alien ground vehicles. At the end of that year the Castle Sets of the former year would retire and then a new wave would come, so likely Pirates now. That way we would always have two themes going with one new theme each year.
  16. Well, who says every Theme needs or should get an TV show. I agree it doesn´t make much sense to put to much marketing into those themes. Also I don´t think an theme needs to beat or come near to Ninjago or Star Wars to be successfull. But I still belive that they would sell good enough to make profit with them.
  17. Pinapple Costume Sheep Costume Desert Knight/Warrior Medicine Man with Buffalo Hat Flute Player Monk Space Scientist Farmer with Goat would be actually fun if we got an AFOL instead wearing an Goat T-Shirt and having the goat as item Baker Dwarf Miner with Pickaxe and Juwel Dustman Kid with duck
  18. The only information we got is from that Survey, so if the Set is coming I bet we will see more minifigures. I don´t actually see them doing this Set without including Gollum for instance.
  19. Themes like Ninjago show that it is possible to make themes that are suitable for both Adults and Kids, IMO. As a Kid I had some Adventure, Castle, Western and quite some City Sets. I could play just very well with them, and I belive that Kids still can do that today. So I don´t see a problem that those Sets wouldn´t suit Kids to play nowadays - but of course Ninjago might seem cooler to Kids nowadays than some Knights but that doesn´t mean Kids wouldn´t play with them anymore. Anyways the nostalgic Sets we had yet were made for adults mainly, while of course Kids still can play with them. I would say the Eldorado Fortress is more in a direction that would attract both Kids and adults, than the Explorer and the Castle were. Sadly, I still don´t think we will see whole themes of that kind but I am happy with getting a few Sets each year for now.
  20. She has been in one of the books (Transfiguration Class) and from the ones still around the Trunk you mentioned and the Hogsmeade Set. Not counting the Golden one ;).
  21. Among AFOLs it did great at least - as for the overall audience, only Lego could answer that. But well leakers actually say there will be a new Space remake Set next year, which will likely be the 6954 Renegade, so I would say it is save to guess the Galaxy Explorer can´t have done that bad ;)
  22. The problem here is. Both, the "it was everything" and the "it is ok" are your personal feelings about those sets. You can´t really make a rating out of it. ;).
  23. This is a forum, so discussions about Ideas and such are quite normal IMO. Anyways, I can assure you I didn´t mean to belittle your idea in any way. If it felt to you like I was, I am sorry.
  24. Doesn´t seem that unlikely to me, that they would make that too. I mean, aside from Gringotts that is what people always were wishing for to expand Diagon Alley. Wouldn´t wonder if we are gonna see it happening in the next two years, I mean Diagon Alley will not be around forever and I don´t see them doing it when that one retires. Other possibility would be they make stand alone Sets like with the Weasly Shop.
  25. Just because the City is sunken, doesn´t mean the inhabitants can´t swim, does it? Anyways, my point was that when people imagine Atlantis, they expect a sunken city - so when there would be a new Atlantis Set, Lego would for sure make it an under water setting ;) Aside from that I don´t see anything that would speak against and Fantasy Pirate Setting with Seapeople, Atlanteans etc (if we leave aside, that we could be happy, when Lego would even do any kind of Pirate, Castle, Space etc. Series, sadly)
