Is it just me or is Army building really really expensive?
Black Falcon replied to Alcarin's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Huh? I mean, I know they don´t have their own shops in some countrys, but they still have their Online shop and also deliver to all country - I just checked and your country aswell: LEGO® Pick a Brick | Official LEGO® Shop SI -
Well they could have just included more existing animals, like I would have expected one of two cows, but well... That is still the biggest disappointement about this set honestly.

Well, you wouldn´t get a different minifigure from Build a Minifigure, than you would get from their online PAB, the only difference really is the price (8€ for 3 figures in BAM vs around 4€ for one figure in PAB - though you only get one accessoire in BAM, so you would have to order the sword seperately). And if you order online, you get some insiders points and I generally only order when there is a nice GWP there anyways + you get a higher variety online anyways. In the BAM tower you only have like three usefull heads for knights, because the others look way to modern (glasses, hearing devices etc.) and well, you only get Lion Knights anyways. On BAM you get Black Falcons (which I prefer over Lion Knights personally) as well as Forestmen, Wolf Pack Bandits and most important you also get civilian figures. -

There are a lot more people doing this, than let´s say ten years ago, so a higher demand and the fact that there is no castle theme anymore, where you can get those figures in small sets and the overall inflation are the main reasons IMO. The cheapest way to get minifigures right now is probably if you buy them from BAM or in Legoland Germany, though of course you will only get figs that are in production right now/ or in case of the BAM just the Lion Knights (and that only helps you if you have one near you, not to mention that a trip to Legoland itself would be expensive ofc.) Aside from that CMF, though it is very hard to get the desired figures there nowadays, as the Castle/Fantasy are normally quite desired - and them selling for a high price makes it even worse. That being said, with all mentioned above, the easiest way is probably PAB, as it is accessible to everyone and you get the figures around 4 Euro each - which ofc isn´t cheap either, but it is actually cheaper than using brickllink to get them. If you want older figures however, it depends on your luck whether you find some for a good price but often that would happen in when someone sells a bunch of used Sets, so might depend whether you can use the sets too. -
Yeah, would have expected at least a Polar Bear in the Train Set, maybe with a cub or two. But you would kinda think they would mention this if it would be included. At least with the second set the Wolf den implies that there is a wolf inside. Hell, I hope not. For me the pup doesn´t work at all, I want them to make proper wolf cubs.

Wizarding World 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Actually, all of them are watermarked, just that it was removed (partly) from them. So all in all that means, anything in those pictures could still be changed in the final version, depending on how final those pictures are. I would actually be surprised if they is no normal version of her included. That she isn´t on the leaked picture doesn´t mean anything, since such pictures usually don´t feature both versions of a figure. -

Exactly. I don´t see anyone wanting a Microscale Hogsmeade and if they would make that as the big Set of the year I`m going to eat slugs. Eitherway, we still haven´t much info about the set yet anyways and so far I´m not even sure how certain the bit of info we got is. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Black Falcon replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Same here, I don´t see that happening. Production for this figures must be way to far by now and replacing it with something else would be to late at this point. Sure, they could just bring no CMF out at this point and release it later, but that doesn´t really seem more likely to me -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Here we go again I guess... There were Star Wars Sets on the shelves the whole time, so whether or not there were movies out for SW doesn´t play a role here. The licensing agreement was for the sets, and now claiming it was because of the movies, sounds a lot like you are trying prove something where there is not any prove there for. The problem with this is, that Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings both existed alongside with Castle, Harry Potter even for 10 whole years - when they stopped doing Castle Sets Harry Potter was already discontinued. Lord of the Rings ended at the same time, so there is nothing that would have kept them from doing more Castle Sets, since neither LotR, nor Harry Potter would have even existed at that point. There is literally nothing to back that up. The past has shown, that they could make Space Sets as long as they kept it in the Solar System and later on they even moved out of it with Galaxy Squad, which proves that that agreement was changed later on (very likely when they renewed the SW license, before it retired). -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion
Black Falcon replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Since the apps just read the codes out of the data matrix codes, and there is a certain number for each minifigure, that isn´t the case here. They were clearly packed wrong. It is possible though that they recognized the error, but instead of packing them new they just decided to ship them - and it shouldn´t be a problem for them to tell their system that the Paladins that were produced at a certain time are actually Mindflayers. Well, basically that would be similar to the small codes they had for the Marvel series before they changed to the big codes in the middle of production of series 25. -

Black Falcon replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I thought that aswell, but there were boxes where the content of the box was different to what the code said (the code said Dragonborn but a mindflayer was included) but the overall content of the big box was apparently right. Then no idea what the codes are for though. -

I just don´t get some decisions for RoP and how anyone could think of them beeing a great idea. Willow had the same issues, and sadly those two were basically the greatest fantasy hopes we got at that time. Since they are aimed at kids anyways, I wouldn´t be surprised if we get another. I wouldn´t even agree with the part about the target audience honestly. -
Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
I still think it isn´t likely we will see another Indy Set. Aside from that, it also seems possible that Pokemon was meant to be a joke but just turned out to be true now. I guess only one person will be able to tell. On a side note, it would also be possible (but still seems unlikely to me) that an other bigger Indy Set was planed but got dropped. -

Well my point was that it wouldn´t matter if something is a HBO show anyways in the first place. I still wouldn´t agree with that and would still say there are far more famous british actors than one would think ;). I would say a series has an totally different approach anyways and wouldn´t really have to be better than the films. But of course it still has to be good. With the huge franchise behind it and the focus on the main story that kids love, it is almost impossible not to make money with it. They would have to make it worse than the willow series or RoP so people drop it after the first episodes. As said before, they will likely pull the plug if the numbers drop from season to season - but surely before they stop making money with it. Seeing how limited the slots are, I don´t think it would be likely for them to be included. In the end the trio and probably Malfoy and Neville are granted to be included in their kid form, and I don´t think they would include adult forms there, that most kids probably haven´t seen yet. I still think that is (at least partly) the burden with such successful films, they create very high expectations that are just hard to match in the end, which results in people beeing disappointed about the film they get. But that still has nothing to do with them beeing a Prequel, would just be the same if they were Sequels - just look at Indiana Jones for instance ;) I didn´t claim all hated to ST - actually I am pretty sure that there are enough peoplde that enjoyed them, but yeah, whereever you see discussions about PT and ST, you see more people liking the PT better than the ST, and haven´t seen a single place where more people liked the ST. You mean Bilbo. But yeah, also possible that it happened in between that. Weren´t people complaining, that the actors hair wouldn´t match the describtion in the books? -
Wizarding World 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
It was, but HBO got the rights in 2015. To be fair, I do belive it is easier to get people to join for a Film than for a series, because the later will need more time for filming. But eitherways, the point only was, that there are still enough famous and well known actors are out there, that didn´t play in the films, whereas you made it sound like there wouldn´t be much left that were not in the films, which to be honest sounds a bit unfair to all the others. But as stated before, I wouldn´t expect as many famous actors for a series anyways, for several reasons like stated above, or just the point, that it would need to much budget. So again, I think some famous actors are enough, and there is just no need for all of them to be the most famous ones. Aside from that, how many actors are even already known? As far as I know, there are many names rumoured, but not that many really set. And it will be like that for every other theme. In the end Lego will always have to get their sets approved, just that Disney is probably more strict than others are. No. Because they want to make money with it and the Fantastic Beasts didn´t do as well as expected. Yeah, but for that they would have had to make the Set a Epilogue one and even then I think most of the other minifigs were easier to make because young versions of the trio already exist. But an exclusive Set for the Epilogue isn´t really something Lego would do anyways, since the moments with the kids are just way more famous. Sorry, but, sure the Hobbit wasn´t as successful as the Lord of the Rings but it was nowhere even near to being a flop. The same goes for SW 1-3 and I even would say, for Fantastic Beasts, aside from maybe the last Film. If that were true, why do most Star Wars fans think the Sequels are worse than the Prequels then? Really in the end it depends on how a film or series is done. And especially for Something like SW, LotR, or Harry Potter which were huge successes, it is just very hard to get there again. But that doesn´t make something bad just because it isn´t as good as the original. It actually plays between the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. -
Wizarding World 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Honestly, if they would have included those two, we would have complained if their kids wouldn´t be there too. The only thing I see there, is that they have a successful franchise and want to make more money with it and after Fantstic Beasts didn´t´do as well as expected they are going back to the main theme. On the other side, a series will never replace the films so if they would really try to do it, they would have to make new movies instead. As for what the point is, it is to make money of course, like it was for the films too. And the attempt with the series is that they can embellish the story further and that probably is the thing a new version of the Story needs the most. If it would just tell exactly the same (compared to the books shortened) story, there would be no point to even doing it again, so soon after the original. -
Wizarding World 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
It will very likely be given away on September 1st for their Back to Hogwarts event, usually for 40€ with an bigger GWP for reaching a 130€ threshold. Glad to hear you and your family are enjoying the Sets (and Harry Potter overall). The greenhouses are actually also the Set I am looking forward to the most. Aside from that they did Sesame Street, I don´t know what role it should play whether they did a Set of a HBO series before or not. I don´t think the first season would do so badly, and if it is just the interest of people to take a look how the show is compared to the films. In the end it will be interesting to see how the second series is doing, but even then I would guess that HP is a big franchise that would draw enough people unless the first season is truely horrible. In the end if it isn´t doing well enough they will pull the plug, but I doubt they will get any financial hit because of it. The situation with Amazon is different though, since they had to pay a huge amount of money for the rights in the first place, which would have been a greater risk if HBO would have had to pay a similar amount before even starting production. That if a very far stretch IMO. Especially, I doubt that the idea game from Rowling in the first place but HBO. I think you are really underestimating the number of famous british actors here - and after all who says they have to be that famous to play a role in a series, sure, they might want to include some to draw more attention to the series and famous actors with a big fan base always help promoting such a show (and some people might just watch it because of the actor), but 2-3 would already be enough IMO. Well, more realisticly Lithgow is quite old already, so I would take it more from the point that it is just not that likely that he will be playing any main role after the series is done, if he even is able to play the role for all 7 seasons. I would also say, that there might be a risk that the show isn´t well received, but there is also a big chance to promote their careers if the show is well received - and if not, it will still draw a lot attention eitherways. Well we don´t really know what either the deal Lego has with Disney, nor WB really includes, but there is like no way that either of them wouldn´t include that WB and Disney have the last say of those Sets. I actually like that they want to keep the old opening theme and some of the other titles - and surely they will still add some more to it. I actually also hope that they keep the look of the location, for instance a new Hogwarts Castle wouldn´t make much sense to me, because the one we got is just what it looks like for Millions of people now - but I do hope they keep the castle consistent over the whole series unlike they did with the films. -
Selling now Black Pearl & Queen Anne or wait?
Black Falcon replied to ChrisXY's topic in LEGO Pirates
First of all, I don´t think that there is such a big difference for most people on whether they would buy the original or the rerelease - that will probably mostly be of interest for collectors that want to have the whole old wave complete, and especially for those that want to have them sealed - as for those the older version is rarer than the rerelease. Secondly the new Black Pearl won´t be a rerelease but a new Set, unlike the Sets you mentioned above. That will probably not change much for the price of the old Set, though. -

I wouldn´t be that surprised if we see an exclusive torso print there - well same goes for face print. Aside from that, it will probably be just a boat and a small side build. -

Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Momotof's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I would say it´s rather because of your personal preferences, than because of what Lego is releasing - personally in the last years there were already more sets I would have liked to buy than I was willing to - I haven´t bought Rivendell yet for instance, though I really like it, even more so with the Lion Knights Castle. Another problem with the big Sets aside from the price it the space they need - which in the end, if you need more of it, it costs more money again ;). As for Bag End, as mentioned before it wasn´t really a Set I was looking for, but it still is much nicer than I would have had expected, so unless for Barad-Dûr (which was great too, but just not my main interest) I could see me buying it - but then again, as I said, other Sets are still on the List too, and I would put the Lion Knights Castle and Rivendell above Bag End. -
Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion

Looks great, and I do like that they didn´t just include bag end but also some sidebuilds and additional hobbits. Would say minifig selection is good and especially they do look good - aside from Gandalf all torsos seem to be new. Honestly expected the set to be an easy skip, as Bag End wasn´t really something that I was looking for anyways. But it is much better than I expected. -

Jurassic Properties 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

I would rather say, that the most likely explanation would be that the vehicles are numbered in the film - I just don´t see a reason why Lego would put those numbers there on their own. Btw, even if that would be the case you could count the drone towards what you mentioned above and would have all 8 vehicles. For instance there was no Set 76436 in Harry Potter last year (and this number didn´t show up this year either). And eitherway, they don´t just skip the number, as far as I know there should be sets behind those numbers that just don´t make it to the shelves. -
