  1. I'd imagine this piece: http://brickset.com/parts/6001085
  2. Some of my ball sockets have very minor cracks in them. Is that considered degrading? They don't affect the quality any, so would they be accepted? Anyway, this looks pretty good. I just bought a bag of parts from a flea market, and I've been wanting to build with them. Looks like as good a time as any. Plus, big prizes are at stake, so why not.
  3. I kinda like the choices they made with the sizes. Lewa is the agile type, so a smaller size fits. Pohatu's always been the speed guy (even if his Mask Power isn't speed anymore) so making him small and fast makes sense. Gali's a girl, and on average most females are shorter than males. Tahu and Kopaka always were the leader-type characters (don't know the direction for the story, so it may not hold true in this case), so a taller, more powerful body makes sense for the leaders. And Onua's the strongman. So he gets to be super buff.
  4. Meh. I don't blame 'em for putting up pseudo-reviews for the sets. Yeah, they're not accurate, but it gives a good look at the final sets' appearances... More or less. Complaining about things like the gears getting in the way of the neck should definitely have been avoided, though. But it looks like they'll mention that in an annotation according to Mesonak.
  5. Lewa doesn't look half bad. Pretty good, actually. Color scheme has grown on me considerably. With it being autumn, some of the trees are turning yellow while others are still green. Every time I look outside I see Lewa.
  6. Oh, yes! How could I forget. I still have a fondness for this game, and the music was great too. The Kuma Nui boss music was probably the best, if you ask me.
  7. Apparently a lot of stuff in the MNOG was non-canon ;) Which is completely bogus because why can't it be canon? Anywho, point is, I've been reading up on Biosector01, and I've come to realize something: the old story was a mess. Not only with multiple different plotlines going on at the same time in the later years with story serials, but also what Mariko said. Random and pointless canonization of minor things. And it's made me realize something: I think I'm going to enjoy Bio15's story far more than the original story. In 2001 when I was still a kid (and in the target age group), I barely followed the story. I only got snippets from what the website said, but I still managed to follow it quite well. So for the sake of the new audience, I think this simpler take on the story will go quite well.
  8. Yeah, sounds good (was kinda getting out of hand anyway). But while we're on the subject! I would prefer this to be a completely separate continuity. So, new iterations of the Toa. Trying to tie in the old universe would make things get way to confusing, if you ask me. I'm sure they could pull it off, but trying to accomplish it seems to go against the simpler take Lego's apparently going for. Thanks for the definitions. "New continuity" makes much more sense for what G2 is most likely going to be than "alternate universe". Seriously. We need more information on the story. This is getting more confusing than Bionicle's original lore! :P
  9. Okay, I must have missed something. Or I'm not picking up on what you're talking about... This new universe/Bio15/Nuvaverse/G2/whatever you want to call it has the Toa with Masks that control their elements. Tahu has the Mask of Fire, etc. These are their mask powers in this universe. For all we know they don't even have "Toa Powers" like in days of old. And here's where I get confused. Yes, alternate dimensions apply. The G2 story, for all intents and purposes, in an alternate universe. Meaning that these Toa are not the same physical bodies as the Toa from G1. So discrepancies are going to happen, absolutely. What it sounded like you were saying earlier was that the Toa from G1 are the same (same body, soul, everything) as the Toa from G2. Or you meant something else, in which case I've been confused this whole time, and neither of us are understanding completely what each other's talking about.
  10. I'm going by your comment that they're the original Toa (by original I assume you mean from the original story?). If they were the original Toa you'd think they'd have the same mask powers, yeah? Also, Lewa's Jungle, so there's more reinforcement that these are new characters.
  11. 1)The only apparent connection we have is through the Vahi. It remains to be seen how deeply this story is connected to the original story. 2)No, we don't know the story's direction. So the Nuva could make an appearance. Whether they'll be called Nuva or not remains to be seen. They could just be upgraded Toa and keep their names. (I guess in my post above, I should have said they don't exist yet) 3)I highly doubt these are the original Toa. Their bios suggest completely different characters what with the new personalities, and the mask powers being changed to control their elements... Yeah.
  12. I don't understand this. This is a completely new universe where the Toa Nuva don't exist. Couldn't the name Takanuva have just always been his name? It doesn't need to tie into the Toa Nuva team. Or Takua, for that matter.
  13. Bionicle Heroes, yeah. Console and GBA soundtracks were great. I also really enjoy Bionicle: The Game's music especially the main theme. MNOG was fantastic. Gravity Hurts was good, and most of Cryoshell's music was pretty good. And of course movie scores. Out of all the movie tracks, the Tesara music from TLR is probably my favorite.
  14. Thank you for bringing back memories. It's been a while since I listened to the full song. Bionicle Heroes had a great soundtrack to begin with. Anywho, on a different note, it occurred to me that Bio15 seems to be the first time in a while since we actually got action figures. Sure there was Brain Attack, but most of those lacked a certain finesse. Dragon Bolt's was good, but larger sets seem to get special treatment anyway. Last time in Constraction that I remember there being action functions (excluding special one-off cases like Icarax (one figure/titan in an entire wave), vehicles, and blasters) was probably... The Piraka? Light up eyes? And more notably was before that in 2005 with the Hordika arms and Visorak pincers. What I'm saying is, there hasn't been an entire wave/team of figures that have all had some kind of function. With the return of gear functions, true action figures are back.
  15. Can't beat the classics:
  16. Those prices look pretty good. Any idea when these'll be released?
  17. To test if it's fluorescent, just get a blacklight. You'll know it when you see it. And then you'll want every trans color to be fluorescent because it's super pretty. I'm still sad the Ultra Agents sets don't use fluorescent blue, but that's another story. Even though all the eye colors aren't fluorescent, I'm glad they're still using transparent eye pieces. HF 2.0 was a dark time... ... No pun intended...
  18. However combiners go down, if they don't give us official Kaita, I'm sure making them.
  19. Slizers is Roboriders. Bionicle is Slizers. Hero Factory is Bionicle. Bionicle is Hero Factory. Seriously, though, on those last two: I feel the same complaint was made during HF's debut. It was just Bionicle with a new name. The sets were built with the same system after all (I still remember one person saying HF's tagline should be "We build Matoran", which makes absolutely no sense). Now that Bionicle is using CCBS, it's the opposite of the complaint: Bionicle is just Hero Factory with a different name. I find that funny.
  20. Bahaha! You're, like, the third person I've heard say that exact same thing about the curtains. Anywho, I don't mind the shift from Air to Jungle. As I figured, he still retains his Air powers. And as stated above, it fits with the Wu Xing element system. I guess it makes sense since green is more associated with plant-life, so I imagine that was the main cause for the change. The element that really doesn't make sense is Ice as it's a property of Water. Though I guess it is far enough from water to merit it's own unique element classification. But I digress.
  21. ^Regardless, I hope we see some kind of text in this universe like the Matoran script. Seeing the square runes makes me want to write in squares. I had a lot of fun with circles, hexagons, and triangles of the old days. About the gold Skull Spider, watch it not even be canon or have any large story significance.
  22. If they did, I'd hope it would be either black or even better, glow in the dark. Seriously. That mask needs to be GitD.
  23. Finished the first season of Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere. A fantastic anime, actually. It was pretty confusing at first, but once you get a few episodes in, things start to clear up. I think that's probably due to the fact that there's a bunch of backstory that's quickly glazed over and also isn't very integral to the plot. And the characters. God, there's a lot of characters, and keeping names straight is a fiasco. But they're all so loveable, so it's all good. So, yeah. I recommend it. I had to watch the dub because trying to pay attention to the action and reading subtitles was too much of a task. Time for season 2!
  24. Man. The trans parts on the Stone characters still look super yellow...
  25. Manchester Black is in this too!? By this point I shouldn't be surprised considering the current roster (Condiment King... What? :P ).
