'08 Takanuva was a weird case. It felt (and still feels) like they just wanted to make a titan Takanuva and wrote it into the story. Yeah, Sauron was probably a bad example. Point is, he's still taller than your average Joe. Like I said, I never had a problem with big characters especially in Bionicle and Hero Factory. And part of why is due to the fact that those were both in universes that possessed multiple different species, so it makes sense that there would be variations in the sizes of said species. Anywho, while I like super huge baddies, I'll settle for one that's, say, a head or two taller than a Toa. Maybe if we could get a higher priced figure that doesn't focus on height but rather on bulk or mass, it'd be better. Looking back at Witch Doctor, he was a pretty gappy figure (those arms), so in the future, I'd like to see a much more solidly built design over a tall figure for tallness's sake.

Looks good so far! But I can't help but feel the guys making this movie were all sitting around thinking "we've used T Rex and Spinosaurus before, and there're no other cool Dinosaurs... I guess we'll just make one up!" :P But seriously, though. This is looking fantastic. Glad to see there'll be a marine Dino in the lineup.

Not really directing this at you, but for everyone with that standpoint: I don't see why large characters in the story is strange especially for villains. Giant villains are used more often than not. Just look at Megatron, Sauron, and even the Overlord from Ninjago who turned into a giant frikkin dragon. And for a more familiar example, even Makuta was fairly large in the movies. Good guys, eh. Don't really care either way. Though I will admit it's nice to see a big dude every once in a while. Bulkhead and Grimlock from Transformers come to mind. I don't know. To me it just adds something cool where you see a small good guy take down the big, massive villain. So, I'd love to see villains larger than the heroes. Main villains, that is. The goons can be of an equal size to the good guys.

These look great! Can't wait to pick up a copy. Also, I love the name of this set. "Birds"

Wow. That really puts things in perspective. Only a few more weeks to wait. Also, yeah. The chest printing looks great. Plus, I think it'd be pretty plain looking without it. It adds a bit of flair to the flatness of CCBS.

I actually have that picture (and in better quality than in the video) saved on my computer. Looking at it again, I can confirm it's just the boxes of the Protectors and Toa. The top six all have a smaller packaging and the shapes on the boxes match up with the poses of the Protectors on the packaging. The lower six are the same case, but feature three boxes that are smaller and three that are larger indicating the two size classes of Toa.

I think we could definitely see a two pack of Ekimu and Mask of Control Makuta. Considering Makuta in that form seems to be no more, it'd be a nice inclusion. That being said, I wouldn't want to see a Mask of Ultimate Power Makuta until later in the series. He (and the mask) needs a bigger buildup. Unless it turns out the mask is the main villain, in which case whatever. But I just can't see us getting the Mask of Ultimate Power this early in the story.

I've just been using names from across the old story to name the Protectors for my head canon. Those names specifically are Vakama (always a good fire leader-type), Lesovikk ('cuz I love the guy), Maku, Huki (those two because I totally ship it), Metus (saw reminds me of his snowflake shield), and Tehutti (don't ask me on that one. First name that popped into my head).

Already gave my thoughts, but the more I look at Lewa, the more I like him. I like the big upper half he has and thinner limbs, almost giving him a monkey-like appearance. The proportions on him are really appealing to me. Also, for some reason the technic bits sticking out from the backs of his forearms remind me of Lewa Mata's weirdly long fingers. Maybe it's the light grey pins?

Now that's a Skull Spider Lord. I like what you did with the legs. It keeps the look of the set while giving it added pose-ability. Best of both worlds.

That'd be cool. I could go for a deep sea HQ. But I wonder what the fate of Antimatter will be after this wave (all this assuming there is another wave)? Will he carry on as the big bad to wave 3? He's too cool to be wasted and I'd love to get him in another set (Antimatter Mech please!).

I'm going with this idea. All the islanders are of the same species. The Protectors (the guys we're getting as sets) act as village leaders and protect their individual tribes (and possibly the golden masks, but I don't think anything's been confirmed in that regard). Plus, I think it was confirmed at Comic Con that the Protector sets are the village leaders. To me, it seems logical that only those six would be called Protectors. I mean, why would the entire species be called Protectors? What are they all protecting if they're just regular dudes? It makes sense that those six regular dudes who are picked to protect the village and/or the golden masks would be called Protectors, wouldn't it?

Visually, he looks great. Love the colors and proportions. The raised shoulders are also not so much of an issue with those silver fins. I'll have to actually have him in-hand to decide how bad the pose-ability is, but judging by your word, it's not looking good. As for the Miru... Not sure. It's growing on me, and I think I may like it? I guess it's just that I don't mind it, but I don't love it or hate it one way or the other.

After a spell of not liking him, my want for him has increased quite a bit. Like, shockingly so. I'm absolutely loving how he looks and can't wait to get him. Is he the best set? Not in the least, but I can't help but love the guy.

Can't get over the Constraction hands and Unikitty tails for the roof detailing. Nice parts usage right there.

That a pretty sweet hood. I think the head underneath is just a stand-in to have something hold the hood (note Laval's head wearing a new Ninjago Snake Cultist whatever helmet). Since it's a prototype, kinda sad it's not going to be in trans purple. Then again, Ultra Agents has introduced dual colored helmets, so it's not out of the question that Antimatter will have a similar dual-colored hood.

So I'm not the only one who thought about having a six barreled Gatling gun with each barrel being another Gatling gun. And it shall be the 6-Shot Fractal Gatling Cannon. Anywho, more on topic: these look pretty good, though I'm not sure how necessary the back armor is. I feel where back armor is required most is mid-back and not behind the neck. Either way, still nice to see some creative designs for small-scaled figures.

Oh my gosh. There are too many similarities to be a coincidence. Same artist maybe? Or perhaps they used it for inspiration. By the way, Gata, love the new avatar.

Just looked a BZP's Earth Protector (Barney) review. I must say, he looks absolutely fantastic. Probably my favorite of all the Protectors. That trans purple is just delicious.

I'm quite surprised with how good he actually looks. As has been said, his arms need some work. Not as bothered with the legs though. I have the two smallest bone sizes in surplus, so I'll definitely be breaking those out to experiment with what looks best. But as he stands as-is. Not bad. Not bad at all.

I like him. Though that may just be nostalgia as he was the first Toa I got in 01. I'll probably end up switching up the arm bones and shells just for symmetry. Not sure if I like the crazy contrast.

Definitely. Way ahead of its time. Anyway... Probably a bit too easy but:

Personally, I hope it's just one ocean based villain and not a whole wave of underwater. Not really a fan of underwater themes (I threw out the Aqua Agents idea just for the heck of it). But whatever happens, another wave of Ultra Agents will always be welcome.
