Post about Cartoons and Anime you like
Kalhiki replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Culture & Multimedia
NHK was dark? I didn't really think so. Well, I guess it had some dark themes to it (suicide, etc.). Still a good and entertaining show despite, at its core, being about a shut-in. I'd recommend. I don't have Netflix, so I can't really help you, Peppermint_M, since I don't know what they offer. Though I do recommend FLCL (6 episodes of insanity), Samurai Champloo, Space Dandy... Eden of the East wasn't too bad, but I wouldn't put it above others. Anything else I have to recommend has been said by others... Anywho, on my table, I'm currently watching Xam'd: Lost Memories, which is good so far. Half way through and I'm not disappointed. But I have heard that the story is somewhat cluttered, and the end tries to wrap it up nicely, but falls short. I wouldn't know. Like I said, still haven't finished it. But as of now, I recommend it. Also, anyone been watching Ninja Slayer? It's the most ridiculous thing I've watched. Like, just under FLCL levels of ridiculous. I love it so much. And it's by Studio Trigger of all people. -
How did I not notice that Ekimu uses all trans bones (minus the torso). Looks really cool. Like he's a being of energy wearing golden armor. @Aanchir: He did mention it. Third from the bottom ;) EDIT: nvm. Agile Cat said it first. Regardless, very cool to hear. I hope the combi models are canon just so we can have skeleton amalgamation monsters.

Only a matter of time now until they start showing up in stores...

I second that. Not very close to the book, but still a good movie. Need to watch it again. Don't remember much of it... Haven't seen it in years.

Mmmm... Trans Blue Mask of Water. Gimme. I really do hope it gets a wide release (activity book or otherwise). It's too beautiful not to, and it would be sad if Gali was the only one not to get a Trans variant. If it's not in the activity book, I wonder what'll be included... Probably a Skull Spider...

'Bout time. I've been waiting forever to get a non-Russian language toy. Thank you Bionclie for making this possible. Bionclie: #1 toy of 2015.

Not keeping up with things and not doing research, obviously. :P But thanks for the info. Really want to pick this game up now.- 79 replies

True, but I hope they continue the "simpler take on things." Though that's not to say I wouldn't like to see some things canonized. I'd especially like to know what Okotan culture is like.

I didn't mind Greg. But I didn't like how convoluted the story became and how much stuff got canonized near the end. Which is why I like G2 so much. A lot more open space that doesn't confine things so much through things that are canon.

Yeah, I'll probably end up getting Escape just cuz it's cheaper. And I like those Raptor colors. Oh wait. I was going to wait till next month to get one of them for the Winter Soldier promo (already getting a $50 Ultra Agents set). But I noticed on the store calendar that Raptor Rampage has double VIP points for the month... Hm... Also, I'd like a second wave just to get some herbivores. Parasaurolophus, Triceratops, and maybe some form of Long-neck. Brachiosaurus probably.

So. I want to get some raptors. I really like the green guy from Raptor Escape, but not really fond of the set as a whole. Raptor Rampage looks a bit better and comes with Chris Pratt and scientist what's-her-face (I haven't memorized names), but the price is really putting me off (50 bucks? Yeesh). Any recommendations? I may end up getting them both eventually, but what should I start with? Also, any chances of a second wave? Don't recall anything from Toyfair, but I'd like to see more dinosaurs. :)

Lego Jurassic World (Video Game Discussion)

I'm kinda getting excited for this game. I've been on JP hype for a while (need to get some of the sets!) What would be really cool is if you could play as the dinos. I want to free roam on an island as a dinosaur. ... And eat people.- 79 replies

This is fantastic. Love the torso especially. The only thing I'm not to fond of are the hands and legs. The hands just seem sorta... Messy. Though I do like how you gave him the double thumbs he had in the movie. And the legs seem a bit long. Maybe if they were digitigrade? I recall they were in the movie, and this MoC seems heavily inspired by that. Minor nitpicks compared to the overall figure, though. Looks great.

Only makes me want vehicles more... *sigh*

I'm thinking about collecting the Roboriders. I got The Boss from eBay, and he was pretty cool. I have the full collection of Throwbots already, so in terms of Bionicle's ancestors, Roboriders is all I'm missing.

Loving those feet. And that torso. Very creative. Also, thanks for reminding me; I've been meaning to see how Tahu's blades look with different flame inserts. These here look particularly good.

Said I would watch it, and I did. Awesome job, man. Some of the transitions were a bit awkward, yes, but there's not much that could be done with that. It was exactly what I was hoping for. All of the episodes make for a nice "short film" of sorts. Little sad you didn't add The Legend into the mix, though. Was more of a preview episode, but it would have been nice to see it added. Regardless, still a fantastic job.

Do G2 characters have bones??? :P Sorry, getting carried away. In terms of Von, I like him up there. I enjoyed HF, and I don't want it to be completely dead. Von's keeping the spirit alive.

Paint is also in this universe alongside needles and haystacks. I find it kinda funny we're discussing needles and haystacks and their presence on the island. But it does bring up an interesting thought on what kind of society Okoto has. I feel there may be some flat land for hay to exist in the Water and/or Jungle regions. Likewise, I'd think they'd also possess beasts of burden for either food or simple to pull wagons or the like. I don't know. I'd like to see more of Okotan culture in the future. Don't have much as of now.

Dude, that's the best part! :D (Okay, yeah, walking robots need work, and treads are way more practical, but when done right walking>rolling) EDIT: Watched Ep 9. I'd say it's my favorite if just for the additional screen time for the characters. I'm glad to see that some characters (Lewa, Gali, etc.) got more lines. Really solidified their voices in the animations as opposed to the brief bit we got in the previous episode. I think the only voice I don't like is Onua. Voice is fine, but talks too slow for my taste. Anywho, looking forward to the summer animations!

Yeah, but then he wouldn't be as cool. Seeing a robot walk is much cooler than seeing a robot roll around. And he'd lose some of his scary factor. Seeing that guy charge at you the way he does, ball and chain flailing... It's terrifying.

This is sweet. May need to order some bricks just so I can have some Doo Heads. And then MoC with them of course. I'm all on board with calling the Doo Heads Great Beings.

Man. I've been debating with myself on which one is better and which I prefer for a while now. I think the CCBS figures look better, but the G1 style is easier to build with... Though that may be because I've had more experience with it? I don't know, I think Original Bio has more options in terms of building. For instance, it's much easier to make custom bodies and limbs with it than CCBS. But, I find CCBS pretty good for making larger-scale MoCs. The pieces just seem bigger and easier to work with, and you can quickly fill a lot of volume. Tough call on which is better. I don't think one really is better than the other. I prefer to just build with both systems.
