  1. Whatever it is, I just hope it's fair. Doesn't need to be a big competition. In other news, couldn't help myself; picked up two Onua today at Target. Couldn't pass up two for the price of one.
  2. I wonder if we'll even get to find out the Toa's origins in these three years. If not, I full expect the first three years to be the big MoUP hunt, and then later years to be the Toa going off to discover their origins.
  3. Yup. I don't really mind the short run. It tells a complete, wonderful, and memorable story. And while I'm here, might as well say that I just finished watching Eden of the East. Not bad, but not my favorite. It was a good story, but it just felt like something was missing... Oh well. I liked it overall. Now to watch the follow-up movies.
  4. Ah! Good point, good point. I completely forgot about 04-05 Metru Nui. Yeah, it's still early to discredit Okoto's potential, but in the long run, I just hope they can keep things interesting.
  5. I'm wondering how long the story can stay on Okoto. Being an island, it has a limited amount of area, which limits the amount of stuff that can be introduced. That being said, we don't know how big Okoto is. The island of Mata Nui was roughly the size of Illinois, so if Okoto is a fairly large landmass like that, I suppose there's room to be able to introduce new story elements. Though, personally, I want to know where the Toa came from. If they're space aliens, I'd like to see their homeworld/s.
  6. Augh! Why didn't I know about this? I live in the St. Louis area and completely missed out. I'm going to go cry in a corner now...
  7. I enjoyed some people's speculation that it's a sort of "life support system" so his body doesn't rot away over the years.
  8. Out of Jungle, Earth and Water, I'd say Jungle. Bright colors, looks cool. He's a nice figure. After that I'd say Earth. Still a good figure, but the colors are too dark for my taste. And Water... I just don't like that figure. Colors are all over the place and unbalanced. Just looks like a mess.
  9. Song of the Sea. After seeing The Secret of Kells, I was highly anticipating Tomm Moore's next movie. Been following Song of the Sea's production for about a year, and it all paid off. A beautifully animated movie with loveable characters and wonderful music. The story felt a bit simple, but I think it worked. It was just a cute, fun movie, and I loved it.
  10. Totally using this as my new computer background. Anywho, on Pohatu. I don't really picture his as big jerk. I view him as observant and only speaking when it's important. He didn't care about their fighting, and only spoke when a bigger issue arrived (LOSS). So... Batman.
  11. Baby Protector has arrived. Maskless, but baby protector nonetheless. Agreed, we need polybags. While I never managed to nab any when they came out way back when, I did enjoy their obscure looks. The 2008 Good Guy with the little helicopter backpack was my favorite. Aside from Turaga Lhikan, of course. But I digress. On the episode, I'll agree, some of the voices were a little off. But I can forgive the guy. It's one dude, most likely an unprofessional voice actor, doing the voices for, what? Seven characters? Eight including his normal narrator voice. As much as I'd like more variation, I have to cut the guy some slack.
  12. The boomerangs on mine are perfectly fine. They hold their position when I pose them, what more do you need? I personally love Pohatu. Could he have used more brown? I guess, but the silver certainly doesn't do any harm. I think metallic colors only hurt when all the characters have it. Since Pohatu is the only one with that much silver, I just consider it part of his color scheme. And, yeah. Low parts count. But I really don't see what they could have added/done to increase that number. He accomplishes what he needs to.
  13. Heavy metal piston add-ons? I can dig that. Rock on. On your second point, totally agree. Maybe some more stuff like Tahu's swords. As much as I hate those pieces, I love the sort of elemental core in the middle of them.
  14. I love me some trans shells, but I gotta agree with you there. Trans bones with solid shells gives a nice "underlying energy" look to things. Anywho, I don't see the issue of metallic. I mean, yeah. Sometimes it doesn't look good, but other times it works well for breaking up colors. Just look at the Toa Mata who use black shoulders and hips to great effect. I think swapping those out with their primary or secondary color would look terrible. Okay, alright, that's black, but the same goes for metallic. To me, having black, gray or metallic pieces breaking up a color scheme is much more visually interesting than a figure who is solely one or two colors. Now the Toa Phantoka and Mistika. That was a bit much.
  15. I'm thinking something Shakespeare, but that's probably because I think that every time I see a toga. I have no idea.
  16. They're not infected... They're funmetal.
  17. The only time I ever buy multiples is for parts, and even then I'll only buy sets on clearance. I think the most duplicate sets I got was three Rocka XLs (one for the collection, two for MoCing). Though I was tempted to get another set of 2015 Toa after building my versions of Akamai and Wairuha. Speaking of which, I should upload those pictures...
  18. I really hope so. That still remains as one of my favorite shows. Anywho, this news is very pleasing. I really enjoyed Legacy, so more Tron is always going to be welcome. And I'm definitely going to be crossing my fingers for Lego Tron sets.
  19. Teeth and claws. Lots and lots of teeth and claws.
  20. Oh my gosh. Antimatter is the second coming of the Maelstrom. This is canon. This is totally canon.
  21. Meh. I more often than not prefer head canon over official story anyway. More fun that way.
  22. Heh heh. Fleshed-out. Hopefully his character won't be bare-bones! *rimshot* Anyway, talk of Skull Grinder reminded me: anyone got any head-canon voice actors for the characters? I keep picturing Skull Grinder with John Noble's voice. Haven't given much thought to the others.
  23. Skull Grinder's here to grind skulls, of course! I think he's trying to get the Mask of Creation for Makuta or something along those lines. I do hope he is a significant character. He just seems too cool. Or maybe he won't be too significant at first, but will turn out to be a recurring character. That'd be neat.
  24. I can see that. Maybe not for the cinematic universe, but definitely for a more comic book style. Anywho, built the UltraCopter. Looks fantastic. The opposite spinning rotors are clearly the biggest draw to the set (well, maybe aside from Antimatter). The other functions aren't too spectacular. The flip-out side guns don't really do much for me, and the winch system isn't so great either. Antimatter's little hover disk is actually cooler than I expected. It's sleek and it looks nice with its gunmetal and purple. Also nice that it almost looks to be part of Antimatter. It flows well with the minifig's design, so I don't feel the need to remove him if I want to mess around with the figure. Antimatter alone is fantastic. Not sure if he outranks Invizable as my favorite, but he's cool and well designed. I was also surprised to see he had a GitD head. That's neat.
  25. Agreed on that part. Easily my least favorite part of the game. I mean, what's the point of getting all these cool vehicles if we can't drive 'em around a city? Just driving them around an empty planet's boring. Heck, I just used a flying character for all the aerial races on Oa. I was really hoping free-roam Gotham would have stayed. Even better if they threw in Metropolis.
