That is one wicked looking Protector (or Protector-like character). Love the wings especially. The semi-opaque color they have really flows well with the trans green armor and the solid green of the mask and chest.

When I first heard exclusive mask, the first thing that came to mind was a trans/trans blend Mask of Water. Regardless, yay! Chapter books are back. It'll feel good to read Bionicle again.

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (Video Game Discussion)
Kalhiki replied to The Joker1's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Got a source on that? Excited to play it, and I want to know for sure. -
Wow. That is a seriously regal Tahu. Solid and well put together. Well done!

To be totally honest, I think I like the 2.0 torso better. Weird. Also, on an unrelated note, I have an urge to rebuild Skull Scorpio into a bird a la Nui Jaga alternate build.

I feel the gold on the larger Toa kinda detracts from the gold masks. Looking back at '01, the Toa didn't have any gold, and when they had their gold masks, it was a stand-out feature, and you could easily see their upgrade. With the likes of 2015 Tahu, Kopaka, and Onua, gold is already part of the color scheme, and the gold mask just sort of blends in. Plus, it makes them seem more special when in reality, they're just equal members of the team. As for the torsos, Pohatu also has the BA torso plate. Only Lewa and Tahu use the old 2.0 design. If anything, it adds variety.

Let's hope DeeVee doesn't wander into this topic, lest we all be confused. :P Anywho, Vader doesn't look too shabby. I was a bit worried about the size, but it's not too bad (not too big). Seems like a pretty good action figure size.

Excellent! Can't wait to pick up Gold Getaway. Nice to hear they're showing up.

This. Honestly, I'd be content if they just strung all the animations together at the end of the three-year arc in a sort of "movie". Nothing too spectacular, but it'd be nice to see them all play out consecutively. What would make that even better is if they had a cast of voice actors and threw in some additional scenes.

Mmmmm.... Those legs.... Really sweet MOC. Definitely pulls off the drone mech look.

I like to think the coffin/sarcophagus doubles as sort of a life-support system. He's asleep/comatose, but the box keeps everything in working order. Plus, I don't think we actually know who/what Ekimu is. The guy's speaking telepathically, so I like to think there's something to him that's more than meets the eye (cue transformation sound).

Glad it's Clinkers instead of Slinkers. Slinkers made them kinda sleazy.

They all look fantastic. Really liking Jinky and his tribe as a whole.

And I really hope they aren't treated as zombies in any sort of media. Seeing slow, lumbering "braaaaaaiiiiiinnnnssss" zombies would just kill the appeal of these characters. I really hope they're more like actual characters that just look like skeletons. They can still be undead just so they don't fall under the cliché zombie umbrella.

Don't really care about the piece count, but seeing this gives me high hopes for the set. That tail function looks super cool.

Ehhh. Not sure what to think. They have their ups and downs. I'll take a back seat for now. Call me when Grievous arrives.

Toyfair has begun, woop! Looking at them now, they all look pretty great. Even Warrior and Scorpio. Color me excited.

What are we considering the Skull Grinder vs Ekimu set? Not really a titan since Grinder is the same size as the larger Toa, and it's a two pack to begin with. Are we determining the size class names by price or figure size?

NYTF is tomorrow. Though I don't know if there are any press conferences or pre-shows before then (maybe Saturday is that day?). Regardless, I'm excited. Secondly, I love how one hand on flying Tahu is just the set's hand while the other is an open hand that looks nothing like the actual piece.

I like the Mask of Creation (I assume?) concept art on the first page. Looks very Takanuva-y.

That's how I've felt about it, and I agree. It's very neat. It shows that these characters aren't just dudes who use and control elements, but rather they're infused and have a deep connection with them. Puts a sort of spiritual spin on things, in my eyes.

You don't understand how sad this makes me. If only Makuta could'a been that guy. I was always curious about the "My duty is to the Mask of Shadows" line. What? That never made any sense. So hopefully in G2, the MoUP is truly the evil one here and Makuta's duty is to it. I really do enjoy villains that aren't actually evil, but rather are doing things for the greater good through methods that are... questionable at best.

I love the "are robots alive" question. My take on things: As far as souls go, if a being can think for itself, has feelings, and for all intents and purposes acts human, then it has a soul. The concept of a soul is a confusing one since no one knows what it is (or even if it exists). But if an entity can make its own choices and have feelings toward other things, then by golly, count that sucker alive. Reproduction... I feel that the Protector species is far more organic than anything previously in Bionicle (maybe around Agori/Glatorian levels of organic-ness). I also support the idea of evolution doing crazy things and the Protectors have mechanical-esque parts made from organic matter. Or we go the whole Agori route with mechanical implants (that always sounded creepy to me. I don't like the word 'implant'). Plus, aforementioned "father to son" and baby Protector. So yeah, I'm inclined to believe they reproduce biologically.
