What do you guys think the odds are of us getting comic versions of some of these DCU characters that are stuck in R-rated projects? For example, Peacemaker and Circe? Obviously, it’s not gonna happen anytime within the next year when friggin Superman can’t even get an official movie tie-in. But if we start getting more DC sets, do you think there’s a chance we get them before characters who are otherwise big names but haven’t appeared in DCU projects (think maybe Aquaman, Cyborg, and Flash).

I really like the Superman mech set (as stupid as a Superman mech is). I am disappointed that Supes doesn’t have the red trunks and boots, especially since he’s got the red belt straps. At least if they were gonna go with plain blue legs, they could have gone with a design where he doesn’t have the red belt straps.

Good catch. That indeed looks like what they are. The new Ultron looks good, otherwise, everything here is a pass for me. -
Faking your death and fleeing to Argentina isn’t cowardly. It’s smart. Then why is his strength at 75?! Was Hitler actually jacked? 🧐 I’m mixed on Arkham, tbh. I’ve already made my own (https://www.flickr.com/photos/199057570@N07/albums/72177720310917608/with/53159342208) and I’d rather make modifications to that rather than getting a new one (especially seeing how bland in design a lot of the superhero modular buildings have been) unless the design really blows me away. There’s a chance we’ll get some great new minifigure designs or maybe even some new characters, but I’m not holding my breathe. But, on the other hand, DC getting a modular building is exciting and I’d love if it leads to more down the line (maybe a Hall of Justice or Daily Planet in a couple of years).

IMO, our best shot at a comic Scarlet Witch is comic based Avengers sets. While Pietro is probably better known for his ties to the X-Men at this point, Wanda is undeniably best known for her ties to the Avengers. Maybe we could get her alongside Vision in a Vision mech released around the same time Vision Quest drops as a loose tie-in. I doubt we’ll see Toad before better known villains like Mystique, Sabertooth, Juggernaut, Apocalypse, and Sinister finally make it into sets. As for Mastermind, I’d honestly just make a purist version because there’s a better shot of us getting a buildable bust of Howard the Duck than seeing him in a set. -

I’m leaning towards A, but if it does happen, I’m gonna go with B in a Sentinel set. Quicksilver is probably still best known for the X-Men movies. It’d make more sense to include him as an X-Men member as opposed to an AoU set. I think D is less likely, but I could just be biased because I’d rather have a comic variant. C is not happening. -

Glad the annual Quicksilver rumors are still a thing. -

Colossus should use the legs and arms from the Avatar set and then the shoulder guards from the CMF storm in red to add extra bulk. I will die on that hill. Lizard should 100% be a big fig. He’s big and bulky enough to warrant it. Kingpin I don’t have strong feelings on. Either a bigfig or a minifigure would work because his size is all over the place. He will be included in The Tower of Fate set alongside black suit Spider-Man and stealth suit Captain America. -

To the Lego time traveler who went back and told the design team their new Black Panther D2C set was gonna be a bust: -

The set is already in production. If they do go the microfigure route, that was their idea long before it was mine. -
It seems like vehicles sell better than players and hero vehicles sell better than villain vehicles. Which is why we continue to get cars for Spider-Man despite him being 1) broke and 2) in NYC. I think the bigger issue though is DC hasn’t done much in the past decade to get kids interested in these characters. Most of the games, shows, and movies have been aimed at a decidedly older audience. The only content aimed at kids has been Teen Titans Go, which Lego completely failed to capitalize on that, and Justice League Action, which was pretty much dead on arrival. We talk a lot about how the DCEU being an absolute dumpster fire damaged the brand, but I honestly think the lack of a successful Justice League, Batman, or Superman show for the younger generation has been what really killed this theme.

What if the reason The Thing is a bigfig is because the rest of the Fantastic Four are all microfigures? -
Maybe in another 4 years we can finally get Catwoman and maybe another TDKR Bane. I think the days of comic based sets are pretty much behind us, with the exception of 4+ and mechs. Batman has only been getting sets based on old cartoons and movies. Spider-Man barely gets any non-movie sets. And no one else has gotten a comic based set in years that isn’t either a mech or a 4+ set.

That’s disappointing. Easy pass for me, unless Galactus ends up looking like his comic counterpart and not that dull gray version from the leaked comic con trailer.
