DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

“Batman and his friend on rare occasions in sets that are actually interesting” is a huge step up from “Batman and his Batmobile in a giant $400 black box.” -
DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

I doubt Arkham is going to be like the recent Shadowbox and Gotham City display for two reasons: 1. The only Batman films in which Arkham has any presence are Batman Forever and Batman and Robin and there’s a snowballs chance in hell of them getting sets 2. We already know it’s going to have over 12 minifigures, which means it’s not just going to be some artsy thing. And then there’s the Batcave which, and maybe I’m being overtly hopeful here, seems to be our first large scale playset that isn’t just some Batmobile on a long time. I could be wrong, I don’t think I am, but it seems like we’re actually getting Batman playsets again which means they’re trying to actually draw in kids and not just adults looking to collect display pieces. That’s a step in the right direction. Arkham is barely even a thing in the Nolan movies. Plus, the set will have 12 minifigures. You could come up with seven and you had to shove in two characters who had nothing to do with Arkham to get there. -
Oh, so two purple people commit genocide and all of a sudden all purple people are Hi… er, um evil (almost got political there, thankfully I stopped before anyone got offended). What about all the decent, hard working purple skinned people?! Such broad sweeping generalizations are incredibly harmful to them.

I really don’t think the future of this theme is as doom and gloom as everyone is making it out to be. Sure, we didn’t get Superman movie sets, but: - we’re getting our first non-Batman DC set since 2020 - we’re getting our first Superman minifigure since 2020 and our first Lex Luthor minifigure since 2018 - Arkham Asylum sounds like it might be our first DC D2C in decades that’s a playset and not just a giant display piece like the oversized Batvehicles, Bat-box, BtAS diorama. - first Arkham Asylum since 2017 and first proper Batcave since 2019 - potentially our first comic styled Batman sets (not counting 4+) since 2020 - potentially the reintroduction of iconic Batman villains and maybe even the introduction of villains we haven’t gotten before Sure, it’s not the revival we were hoping for (let’s be fair, we should have expected the DC revival to start with a revival of Lego Batman, which is what we seem to be getting). And if the DCU does well, I think we can look forward to Lego branching out beyond Batman in the coming years. -

That sucks. Are 76305 or 76306 coming next year? -

Mad Hatter is 100% overdue. He’d better be in Arkham or I will join in the riot. Azrael and Spoiler would also be great, but I’m not holding my breathe. I think we could potentially see 5-9 figures in the Batcave and 15-25 in Arkham. Ideally, I think something like this could work: Batcave: Batman (reuse), Damien Wayne Robin, Batgirl, Alfred (new head, otherwise purist), Bruce Wayne (purist), Riddler, Two Face Arkham Asylum: Batman (reuse), Damien Wayne Robin (reuse from Batcave), Batgirl (reuse from Batcave), Nightwing, Red Robin, Spoiler, Azrael, Joker (reuse), Harley Quinn (reuse), Scarecrow, Riddler (reuse from Batcave), Two Face (reuse from Batcave), Mr Freeze (reuse), Poison Ivy (green skin), Mad Hatter, Clayface (brickbuilt), Commissioner Gordon, Jeremiah Arkham (purist), Jonathan Crane (purist), Harleen Quinzel, Hugo Strange, Harvey Bullock (purist), Renee Montoya (purist), Aaron Cash (purist), Bartholomew Wolper (purist), nameless guard. -

Maybe it’ll be a 4+ Batwing with Superman and Bizarro… or Lex Luthor… Joker with some kryptonite? -

Batcave? I thought that was the train station from Harry Potter. -

Sure, but that delay wasn’t announced until March of this year. Lego sets typically take 1 - 2 years to develop. If the set numbers are assigned early on in the process, I don’t think it’s inconceivable to think Lego could have assigned those numbers for The Batman II sets and then delayed their production to match the films new release date. It certainly seems odd that Lego would skip two set numbers like that. I know in the past, they’ve skipped over set numbers. But never two in a row like that, at least not that I’m aware of. -

Ooh, that might explain why 76305 and 76306 are still unaccounted for. Maybe they’re sets for The Batman II. Is the Batcave all that’s left for the year, or could there be more sets? -

76305 and 76306 are both still unaccounted for. I wonder if we might be getting some more Batman sets thrown in there. Or maybe even a comic based Superman set (movie sets were ruled out but not Superman sets in general (I am coping)). -

New Batcave sounds good. I definitely expect it will help boost the number of figures in the Arkham set. I’m curious to see whether they’re both comic based or BtAS based. No Superman sets isn’t a surprise. We’ve known that for weeks now. Still disappointing. -

Marvel fans still waiting for their summer list, meanwhile us DC have known for months what we’re getting (we’re getting nothing). -

Even if they aren’t waiting to see how it performs and have just written off Superman movie sets altogether, if the film does well, there’s a good chance Lego will capitalize on it in some form. -

IMO, apartments for three different superheroes would be repetitive, much less apartments for three Spider-people. I think I’ve got an idea for something like an Marvel Assembly Square lower left: Wanda’s Emporium mid left: Nelson and Murdock top left: Henry Pym’s lab lower right: Shwarma place middle right: Boxing gym top right: Peter Parker’s apartment figures: Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Vision, Agatha Harkness, Darcy, Daredevil, Karen Page, Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson, Elektra, Bullseye, Antman, Wasp, Ultron, Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Thor, Bruce Banner, Spider-Man, Peter Parker, Mary Jane, Green Goblin, Kingpin -

Ashnflash has a video review comparing the new Tumbler vs the old on youtube if anyone is interested. The old Tumbler looks even better in comparison. He’s also got some new pictures of Two Face and, ngl, the figure is growing on me. I may try to pick him up. The pointless Spider-Man vehicles have also largely dried up. Maybe kids just aren’t buying Lego as much these days, so they’re shifting the focus towards adult collectors? That certainly seems to track with a lot of the decisions we’ve been seeing recently. -

I’d be down, but I don’t know that the market would support that. For most people who buy superhero sets, it’d just be a bunch of random buildings. For most people who collect modular buildings, it’d be an undersigned, overpriced modular. Maybe if the figure selection was top-notch it would work. Also, I really don’t know what you’d include beyond Murdock and Nelson and Spiderman’s apartment. Maybe Wanda’s Emporium (not technically in NYC, but Peter Parker also doesn’t live right outside of Nelson and Murdock).
