  1. If it’s this, it’s fake. https://www.instagram.com/p/DCkN-2Nhc_s/?igsh=MXdqemlsdDJpNHg5eA==
  2. It’s a good thing we’ve got an Aslume forum going. They’ll be doubling up the cells tho at the rate Lego DC fans are losing their minds.
  3. So that’s it, huh. What are we, some kind of Aslume Sqwad?
  4. There’s still one set number unaccounted - 76305. What if it was a Superman movie set, but it got canned?
  5. A playscale Ace Chemicals, in particular, seems like it’d be a no-brainer given Lego’s love for Burton’s Batman ‘89 back in 2023.
  6. I really don’t want to be on the side of Lego cutting corners and cheaping out on figures, but, that’s pretty much just how Moon Knight looks. Not every figure needs leg printing and dual molding and new headpieces or else it’s Lego trying to screw over the consumer to save a couple bucks.
  7. It’s actually pretty funny how months ago some of us, at least, were of the mentality that Lego was finally going to deliver with this new Arkham Asylum. Finally, enough of the shadow boxes and the display pieces for old movies and shows with only a small handful of minifigures. Arkham Asylum had to be comic based, or at least BtAS based. There was no other media they could base it on. Except the Schumacher films. But that decision would be laughable.
  8. I wasn’t going to jump on this again, but I see enough people talking about it that I feel I have to respond. Yes, more people in the general audience, at least in my experience, are familiar with the Eternals than the Fantastic Four. Now, the number of people I’ve run into who know the Eternals and aren’t big superhero fans is only a few. And they really only know it as that boring Marvel movie they never saw. But that’s still more than the zero who know who the Fantastic Four are. I really think superhero fans are underselling just how irrelevant these guys are at this point. Outside of comics, they’ve had essentially nothing but bad movies for decades. As far as Lego never making Fantastic Four sets due to the embargo, there’s more to the story. Let’s not forget X-Men were stuck under the same embargo. Yet, we got two sets before that embargo went into effect and as soon as it lifted we got a Wolverine mech and a buildable Wolverine figure and buildable Wolverine claws, even without a series to tie into. The embargo was not the only reason we didn’t get Fantastic Four sets. As for the original point this all related to, Superman is indisputable more recognizable than the Fantastic Four and despite his recent missteps in cinema he’s still more popular. It makes zero sense that Lego made a Fantastic Four movie set but not a Superman movie set. Not, as for a Schumacher Arkham, thinking about it more, I think it actually makes a lot more sense. People who want an Arkham will buy it for Arkham regardless of the figures, so long as the build is good. There are collectors who will buy it for the figures just because they are Schumacher variants which we haven’t gotten before. As for people who don’t know the Schumacher movies, they’ll just see a set with Riddler, Two Face, and Mr Freeze and buy it for those characters. I would have preferred a comic or BtAS minifigures lineup, but I don’t think this is as bad of a decision as many of you are making it out to be.
  9. Welp. If Arkham really is based on the Schumacher films, I guess the line-up is going to be Batman, Batgirl, Commissioner Gordon, Chase Meridian, Two Face, Riddler, Mr Freeze, Bane, Poison Ivy, and 1 generic guard. Maybe the build will be good. I do like the design from the movies, at least. And I’d be interested in collecting Schumacher versions of the characters. But I don’t know that I could justify spending $400 on them.
  10. Could just be a UK vs US thing. Among the people I know who aren’t comic fans, Teen Titans, Eternals, and Suicide Squad are definitely more well known than Fantastic Four.
  11. Daily Bugle is probably on the radar for next year, especially if the modular does actually retire at the end of this year. Fisk Tower from ITSV, like you said, is another one. I could also see a Bank Heist based on Spider-Man 2 reusing the minifigures from this year’s train fight. And, obviously, we need a museum for Venom to rob 😝.
  12. That’s an interesting point. I wonder if these mini modulars could extent out to other heroes. Sure, Nelson and Murdock might not happen. But The Avengers could appear in some of them, or even have some of their own.
  13. It sounds like Marvel is getting a series of miniscale modular buildings for Spider-Man that connect to the deli. It’s a shame we’re not getting something similar for Batman. Even just Gotham city sets with villain lairs and villains attacking various stores would be great. Fantastic Four really aren’t a household name. I doubt anyone who isn’t more than a casual superhero fan knows them at this point. They’ve had nearly zero media exposure for the past few decades, aside from three bad movies. Even Green Lantern who is still widely known for that bad 2011 movie had his appearances in JLU.
  14. That’s a very good point. End of the day, we’re getting more Spider-Man sets that aren’t pointless vehicles, seemingly with new villains, that we can connect together to make a NYC playset for Spidey and Friends. That’s a win IMO. Just a prediction. I think Oscorp will also connect.
  15. I don’t think it helps your case that Fantastic Four is so risky as a brand that Lego didn’t attempt them for the first 13 years of this theme. As a collector of miniscale Batmobiles who considers Batman Forever a guilty pleasure and desperately wants a Jim Carrey Riddler, I am the target audience. And I intend to pick it up as soon as the heavy discounts kick in.
  16. How bizarre. A comic Spider-Man apartment that connects to a Sony-verse Deli that also maybe includes Mr Negative (depending on how that rumor pans out, but I don’t see anywhere else he could be included). I assume Peter and Spidey are given. Hopefully comic MJ finally makes another appearance, although I doubt anything is going to top the 2014 figure (seeing how most civilians are just pursuit customs these days).
  17. I think it’s safe to say, given the lack of really anyone they can reuse in Arkham, that the 10+ minifigures just means 10 minifigures. Which is disappointing regardless of what the set is based on, because there’s basically zero chance of us actually getting any new characters.
  18. The lack of anything Peacemaker isn’t surprising. Nor, I guess, is how badly Superman is getting snubbed here. But it is certainly disappointing because there really is no good reason for it. Not when Fantastic Four is still getting a set despite having possibly the worst track record of any live-action superhero series (even Howard the Duck found some redemption in his GotG cameos).
  19. I think this rules out Oscorp happening for a couple of years anyways, seeing as Lego isn’t likely to have two versions of the same building competing. But I do agree this seems to be Lego testing the waters to see how well a potential Oscorp modular building would sell. As far as a modular building this year is concerning, I’m guessing Arkham is going to be filling that slot and Marvel will wind up with something else as its annual D2C. Probably a vehicle of some kind. One of the GotG’s ships, a Quinjet, or a Helicarrier make the most sense, IMO, but that’s also just pure speculation.
  20. Exabricks was the one to post it, yes? If so, he deletes all his old leaks. But it wouldn’t surprise me if it wound up being wrong. For one, Mr Negative doesn’t make much sense anywhere in this lineup and isn’t, to the best of my knowledge, a character with any sort of a fanbase. For another, he was seemingly wrong about Arkham being delayed and he posted those two rumors close together.
  21. $100, 900 pieces for a a Batmobile? Either there’s more to this set than just a Batmobile or Lego hates DC more than we realized.
  22. So, here’s my thoughts on this wave: No X-Men set. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. I guess we’ll have to wait for the release of ‘97 season 2, but also, there’s no way we’re filling out the roster when there’s 6 members still missing, at least 2 joining the team in season 2, and all the main characters are getting new costumes. That’s not even touching on the complete lack of villains. Raimi set sounds great. I just hope Doc Ock is a new figure and is actually the right color this time. Comic Oscorp sounds great, although that piece to price ratio is awful. Hope the final set can justify it. Also, I really hope we get some new villains or comic variants of villains we’ve gotten in the past like Electo, Rhino, and Lizard. I’m assuming that 4+ Cap vs Thanos set is comic based. Which means we might finally be getting an updated comic Cap, hopefully with a new helmet. The rest of the sets don’t do anything for me. Not a collector of helmets and masks. Didn’t care for any of the movie they’re covering. A new Quicksilver is cool after going a decade without him, but I can’t pretend this version of the character did anything for me. Also, am I the only one sick of the endless Endgame final battle scenes? Could be because I hated that film, but we get at least one of these sets every year and they rarely do anything new or interesting or even introduce new characters of figures, so it just seems like a waste of a slot. edit: Forgot to mention, it’s very odd to release an AoU Quinjet but not include Ultron. 76317 is Spider-Man, so he could be in there.
  23. It came from a fairly reliable leaker but has been debunked by other leakers. Best bet is to just assume no DC set is a guarantee until you’ve finished assembling it and have it safely locked in a vault where Lego can never take it away from you. That’s partly true. Sure, Marvel has cut back on tie-in sets for new movie releases. But they’ve also been making sets for older movies. And we’re still getting comic based sets, arguably more so than we were getting during the Endgame era when only Spider-Man would get comic sets. This year we’ve gotten comic based Ultron, an Iron Man car, and will be getting a Hulk Monster Truck. Not to mention we’re still getting Spider-Man sets and will be seeing Anti-Venom and Mister Negative. As for DC, yes the theme fell off a cliff around the time of Endgame, but that’s just a coincidence of 2018 being the last time a DC film was actually successful at the box office (outside of Batman).
  24. I wonder how that guy feels knowing that when he set out to kill Jason Todd because he hated him so much he instead ended up forever immortalizing him as the Robin who got brutally murdered.
  25. Robin dying was so inconsequential to the story they were trying to tell that the writers literally left it up to the fans to decide what would happen via phone voting.
