  3. "Oh. Yeah." "I apologize for Cory's, err... Certain inefficiencies. Are you done interviewing everyone? If so, you may enter the mine, or propose any alternate courses of action you may have."
  4. "I shudder to think a difference of 365 days could do... You weren't kidding about your 19th birthday, were you? Drinks, drugs, and sex?"
  5. "Playing cards isn't an analogy for something else, is it?"
  6. "Does anyone here know the olar system?! They clearly operate as some sort of a unit..."
  7. "You'd be shocked that hes looking at low to middle range property, in terms of pricing. They have a nasty habit of setting house prices absurdly high, and making the buyers talk them down. From what I've seen of Mr. Cour, though, he's probably good enough to shave a full thousand off the price. He was pretty handsome, but he really didn't respond to any of my advances. I wonder why... The monster walked around on twos." "What would be disturbing about it being a robot? Robots are cool!"
  8. "Sure not the one in the picture, mister! That thing is only six feet tall, let alone the collosus this menace is! Besides, who ever heard of a 40 foot tall robot, anyway? That robot is called a... Minoid, I think?" "That picture - and the real estate catalog, I guess he was house hunting in his downtime here - are from Mr. Cour, an inventor we hired. He built that automaton that picture is of to help work in the mine and such. He came here for a day to drop it off, used that table as a desk for a bit, and left. Guess he left the catalog behind accidentally." "Yep, good ol' Cobb Altt is stingy to the point where he is replacing his workers with machines! One time fee and all that, practically slavery. Damn thing is trapped in the mine, so good riddance. It's a cooperative bucket of bolts, but I can't help but resent it anyway."
  9. "My advice to ya? Run back to Armstrong at the docks. Whatever this abomination is, it has managed to kill about 18 miners and trap the rest behind walls of solid rock. It roars, too - sounds a little bit like a steamboat's horn. It's a weird damned thing, and I don't think you should even bother, really. Spare yourselves." "Watson! You know damn well that the mine cannot go on like this!"
  10. <How dare you!? I am Frostbarb! You may cower behind your masks and your bows, but I will defeat you even still! You two are dishonorable scum... However, I will fight the knight in a duel if he so chooses. Honor comes before all, and you have made the fatal mistake of spitting upon mine! WINTER WORMS, ATTACK!> The worms, led by Frostbarb, begin their assault! Prepare For Battle! Frostbarb The Magnificent, Level 5 Icy Vermin HP: 13/13 Specials: Hypothermia: Frostbarb's chilly spikes make the hero's body shut down, making them fall Fast Asleep and take 4 damage. They had to protect the pantry! ...But where were the ants, then? The Pantry -At the end of every round, each frost Worm takes a serving out of the pantry, deducting 1 HP from it. (2, in Frostbarb's case, as he takes 2 servings.) -For each serving a worm eats, a die is rolled to determine what benefits they get. -1: 1 HP restored -2: 1 HP restored -3: 2 HP restored -4: 2 HP restored -5: 3 HP restored -6: 3 HP restored. -If the pantry's HP hits 0, it is officially fully raided. -Keep it active to recieve Rose's reward at the end of the quest! 11. I repeat my action, slashing at Spyrium once again twice from the front row with my Shark Jaw Scythe.
  12. Erdathcath finds two things on the desk, and shows them both to the party: A pencil sketch of some odd construct... ...And a real estate catalog? What were the meaning of these? "So you're a hero of Heroica, eh? Can't say I've met one in person. Name's Emma. The creature... It wasn't like anything I've ever seen. It was giant, and in the most literal sense. Huge. Forty feet tall, at least. It's head scraped the stalagtites. The way it moved just seemed... wrong, y'know? At first, it shambled about slowly, mechanically almost. The, suddenly it shoots out and lunges at me, with some sort of weapon! I couldn't tell what it was or what it wa susing... I wass running too fast, and it seemed to have an aura of smoke. Creepy, right?"
  13. QM Note: If Hoang Anh doesn't speak within the next few hours, I will start the battle.
  14. "To the breakroom, then. I've called whatever miners have stayed to converse with you there..." The party navigates the pebbly beaches of Goland, eventually reaching a small settlement. The wlak through the rows of short stone buildings, the towering mountain casting a shadow on the workers of Goland. They enter one of the buildings, meeting some of Cobb's miners face to face. "Eh? Cory? I don't remember asking for you... What do you think you're doing here?" "I decided to come anyway, boss! I saw it! I seriously did!" "You also said you fought it in a "epic battle." Those were your exact words." "Okay, so that was an exaggeration, but... I did see it!" "...Don't even think about misleading them, Cory. The mine is at stake here." "Understood, boss." The heroes and three miners to interview. In the back of the room was a ridiculously cluttered desk.
  15. Progg storyline technically ended with 48. I consider 81 and any dealing with The Regret as part of the Lifespark quadrilogy. It's not like most quests are labelled "Human Quests", are they?
  16. "Diamonds. For a jewelry line, I think. They were being processed on the second level of the mine before the monster appeared. If you can somehow retrieve them, and clean all of the dirt off of them, they'd be ready for delivery." "Like I said before, the Shadeaux sipment is already mined - just trapped within the mine itself. You're gonna have to get it back somehow, and take down whatever lurks inside the mine. Some of my workers said it was a full forty feet tall... The mine itself has only one entrance. After we found some of our workers dead in the mines, we abandoned it. That was about a week ago. We've set up scaffolding and are beginning to extract from the side of the mountain, but its absolutely nothing to what the normal mine gives us. We'll be sunk soon, if we can't return to work as usual. I've sunk a decade of my life into this island - I'm not about to give it up because some menace thinks it can terrorize us! The mine has two levels, plus one area that is sealed tight. No one has gotten through that one passage, ever." "If you could somehow get that order back, it'd be appreciated. Very much appreciated. I'm sure you'll gain even more of the Shadeaux's favor, as well... Are you ready to interveiw my miners now?"
  17. "As odd as it sounds... Anything you can think of, really. Goland's mountain is just bizzare. Something must've holed up here way back when, whatever it was. Jewels, coal, iron, diamond... it's all here. Needless to say, its been a figurative goldmine, providing ores of all sorts. We've actually got a shipment of jewels that are going out the Shadeaux shortly. Of course, this whole monster business has thrown a wrench in that order..."
  18. "And how do we propose we do that? i see little option besides prying them off manually... Thoughts, Drucilla?"
  19. <There was not a single soul residing in this place! I took this unclaimed territory as my own! I see that you are accompanied by a knight: you represent some lord, do you not?>
  20. "Won't that inky... tattoo... whip... thing work on these demons?"
  21. The deck hand gives Erdathcath a small scolding for using the shovel on the ship. "'Ey! I just gave this area a scrubbing! Don't go missing it up!" Arthur scans the horizon with his telescope, looking into the distance. A small island emerges, magnified by the telescope's impressive lens. The island itself was flat, the sea-level mainland pebbly beach. A few trees dotted it, but the sandy soil prevented any forests from sprining up. A small settlement exists near the west side of the island, Excelsus pulling closer and closer to the dock. A mountain dominates the grand majority of the island. An imposing tower stands up from the massive stone incline: manmade or produced by nature, it was uncertain. Nevertheless, the mountain made for a striking image. "Wacky island, eh? Quite the mountain." In a matter of minutes, the ship draws closer and closer to the island. Before long, the anchor drops from the deck, plunging into the crystal clear depths. The deck hands scramble to tie the ropes, and in what seems like a matter of seconds, the ship was docked. The heroes disembark, stepping onto the dock of Goland. The prospector of the island converses with Captain Armstrong. "Always great seeing you, Raphael. Sorry I had to call in such a monotonous favor..." "Not a problem, Cobb. You've helped me out plenty of times now - as tedious as going back and forth may be, its only a fair repayment." Cobb's attention turns to the heroes. "So, heroes, welcome to Goland. What do you think? I'll walk you over to the mining settlement, and we'll talk over you job on the way there. After that, you can interview some survivors, and enter the depths..."
  22. ALL GLORY TO FROSTBARB THE MAGNIFICENT!

    1. Kintobor

      Kintobor

MAY HE BESTOW THE PARTY WITH MANY A PIECE OF LOOT!

  23. Darkstne finds nothing but scraps and stagnant water inside the pots and pans. The cauldron reeked especially. "No one should have to live in these conditions... One of the reasons I gave up on being a priest and my faith." Crowley gets the spcies off their shelves, revealing their true contents: Potion Tonic Remedy Hoang Anh throws open the pantry, revealing various foodstuffs... All chewed away at. The perpatrators reveal themselves immediately, wirrlging out from their shadowy hiding spots in the practical buffet of food. They burst of the pantry, revealing themselves: Four huge worms, led by a particularly imposing insect. Darksten translates their foul words, so that the rest of the party may respond. <Halt! Who dares trespass upon the lands of Frostbarb the Mighty, and defile the wintry realm of his Winter Worm Regime? Speak!> <All glory to the Winter Worm regime!>
  24. Updates in less than a half an hour, 97/99ers!
  25. "If we can wipe out all of those chanted planets in 10 rounds, this'll be a cakewalk!" I attack Spyrium from the front row, twice, with my Shark Jaw Scythe.
