  1. Is this something that has been confirmed? If so, where? Or is this just a made-up example you're giving? I too would think that Lego makes different concept designs and submits them to their license givers for approval. I don't think DC/Marvel tells them how to do their job from the beginning.
  2. Nice photo! Did you bind a camera and a Falcon to a weather baloon? Just kidding, I can tell that it is photoshopped by the black rectangle around the Falcon. Aside from that, I really like this picture because the lighting on the Falcon really makes it look like something from the original trilogy somehow. And I don't think it's too big compared to the planet because it's supposed to be flying over / in front of the planet, just a couple of miles away from the camera, not behind the planet (right?).
  3. Thanks, Simon! Could you add Imperial Throneworld to the list? Also, it might be good to add a link to this thread to the Launchpad.
  4. I think I would spend it on videogames and DVDs and maybe some other collectible toys.
  5. Well, now that the Ultimate Spiderman episode with the Beetle has aired, we can make some assessments of what the set will be like. It's already obvious that TLG will be taking some creative liberties with this set as Jameson was never physically present in the episode, unlike his counterpart in the Lego set. The same goes for Dr. Doom, although the episode did pretty much confirm that Beetle is working for him. The set being a Daily Bugle playset is still likely, I think, since most of the episode took place there, although it may not be what people are expecting. But considering that TLG is putting all these characters into the set, it wont be an accurate representation of the scene, just like the Doc Ock set, so it could be anything.
  6. A scuba tank wouldn't, but airtanks sure would.
  7. In case anyone still has trouble tracking down the Spidey set like me, Walmart finally made the Check Store Availability option available for this set, so you can check which store around you has it in stock.
  8. The preview clips do look cool, but from everything else I've heard, I can't say I'm excited for this season at all. More Mandos? More relationship stories? More Obi Wan getting beat up? No thanks. I don't want to be hater, but this is getting redundant. As Dave "Felony" said himself, these are dark times indeed.
  9. Good ones, everybody! Here's another batch from me that makes fun of pieces used in different themes. 10. Which is over a month ago, and his last post was in February. Doesn't sound very active to me. Oh well, I hope we can keep this thread going without him as I find it fascinating to map out the Lego universe. Has there been any other additions from other sources such as Hero Factory?
  11. Not sure if TalonCard is still around, or if this thread is even still relevant, but I think it's time for an update. For instance, the bios for Series 8 finally revealed a new planet: Imperial Throneworld, the Alien Villainess's homeworld and the citadel of her interstellar empire! Which is actually kind of confusing since she seems to be the same race as the Alien Conquest aliens who are said to originate from planet X2½. Perhaps that's just what the aliens call their planet?
  12. Looking at the new bios for the CMF S8, I realized that the torso of the Evil Robot would make a great start for an Iron Man stealth armor! Might be hard to find a good purist helmet/head though... Also, the Businessman with Harry Potter's hands and head would make a great B:TAS-style Clock King, and the Downhill Skier would make a pretty good Mr.Freeze henchgirl, although you may have to exchange her head too if you don't want Yellows among your Superhero figs, probably Catwoman's head or a regular female head with Han Solo's Hoth hood on.
  13. Thanks for the nice review (and thanks for giving me nightmares with that last picture ). But I disagree with your verdict of the set a bit. I was considering buying this set for the Andrea figure, but decided to get Andrea's Stage instead because it has the exact same version of her, but a lot more pieces in rare colors. This is one of the most overpriced Friends sets. I mean really, 62 pieces for $10?! Considering that it has hardly any exclusive pieces, this is a rip-off, and I'd much rather get Stephanie's Pet Patrol with its 73 pieces and exclusive version of Stephanie. Aside from that, it is a cute set though. Have a lovely Summer of Friends!
  14. Thanks. As I said on Flickr, it's a joke about how the missiles on the ARC-170 aim directly at the nose of the ship.
  15. Hi everyone! I'm back with a few funnies! The Dark Trooper Rises by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Slimer the Hutt by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr ARC-170 Nose-fighter by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr I hope you like them. The last one was suggested to me by LEGOman273.
  16. Of course you are appreciated! You are doing a great job fleshing out the Lego Avatar universe! I wish I had more time to build some Avatar Mocs myself. That train looks very cool, although a bit underscaled I think. And the mongoose dragons look so cute! But Li and Lo don't look nearly as creepy as they should, and that hairpiece doesn't really suit them. Too bad you don't have two gray ponytails. Oh well.
  17. Oh, right... Well, I guess I'll have it replace the Atlantis tag since I got that one for the last themed avatar contest. Thanks!
  18. Wow, this is truly amazing! There's so much NPU here, I don't even know where to begin, although I must agree with Cloney that the use of rowboats for bookshelves is particularly brilliant. It just works so well! The tread-base, the pattern on the floor, all the gizmos in the office, they all look great. If this was a contest rather than a community build, you'd win for sure.
  19. OMG! First place? Okivia is flattered and thanks you all very much! Especially Pandora for having this great little contest! Congrats to Praiter Yed and The Penguin (you guys really deserve it), and great job to all those who entered with their fantastic avatars! I think I'll take the red flower tag as it goes well with the rose-button on my jetpack. Thanks again! You're all my BFFs!
  20. B-OM-31B Hello everyone. I don't usually build in the City theme, but I do dabble in it sometimes, and I couldn't resist entering this great contest. So without further ado, I present to you my entry, a quaint little garden with a pavilion that can be rented for weddings and other events! On the sidewalk in the front, a nurse is taking an old man for a stroll in his wheelchair, and a nerd is rolling by on his Segway, being yellow and nerdy. Garden Pavilion by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr As you can see, walls surround the garden for privacy, and there are vines growing all over the walls and the roof of the pavilion. Garden Pavilion by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Here you can see the couple that's getting married. They like the outdoors, which is why they are getting married here instead of at the town hall. Garden Pavilion by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr And here are their friends and family watching the wedding, all dressed up in their best clothes. You can also see the musician they hired playing his keyboard. Garden Pavilion by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr On the other side of the pavilion, there is a buffet table with lots of food and drinks, including the big wedding cake with tiny versions of the bride and groom on top! Garden Pavilion by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr You can see more pictures in my photostream. I hope you like it. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for improvement. Let the Modular Madness continue!
  21. I kinda agree with everyone here a little bit. It's funny how Lego has been doing exclusives for years, then Super Heroes comes along, and suddenly it's a big deal. I can understand the issue though. With Star Wars it has always been fine since it was usually just color variations of figs that are widely available, whereas in these Super Heroes exclusives, they're either popular, canon variations of certain characters, or completely new characters that aren't available anywhere else. While I would love to have the SDCC figs and am annoyed that I will never have a complete collection of Super Heroes figs, I have accepted this fate and can understand the people who have them and don't want them to loose their exclusivity. On the other hand, no one should have to pay hundreds of dollars for a little plastic figure. TLG doesn't really profit from these SDCC exclusives (other than promoting the theme, which is hardly necessary considering all the hype it already has), so I don't really see why they would need to have these exclusives at all. Seeing how people are willing to spend that kind of money on them, it should be in their best interest to sell them in sets. But perhaps there's something I'm not seeing here, and I would appreciate if someone could enlighten me on this matter. I think it would be best if they did what some have been suggesting, to only give out preview-style figs like they did with Superman. That way the people who get these figs will still have an exclusive fig (at least for a while) along with the exclusive packaging, which will make the figs forever exclusive, but will still allow others to get the figs. Everyone is happy. As for people getting these things just because of their monetary value, I must agree with Super Goblin that it seems wrong. It's not about collecting rare items (that's what collecting in general is all about after all), but about getting something so rare and high in demand just to have it sit on a shelf simply because it's worth X amount of money, whereas somebody who wants it for what it is (a toy of their favorite character) and could do something useful with it instead, such as completing their collection, playing with it, or creating art such as MOCs, brickfilms, and photography, will never be able to get it. It's a similar issue as with people who hoard rare sets just to sell them for ridiculous prizes on the secondary market, but at least those people don't keep the sets for themselves. And if you think that TLG means these exclusives as an insult to you and that they owe you something, you are on the completely wrong path. That's just my opinion anyway. That said, I wont sign this petition and think we should deal with not getting these SDCC figs and just pray that TLG listens to their fans and doesn't give out new, exclusive characters at future events. As some have said, we might still get Shazam, Phoenix, Bizzaro, and Green Lantern in future sets, although they will probably be different from the SDCC ones, which would be a shame in the case of Jean and Cpt. Marvel since those are their most iconic looks, but we'll see.
  22. Nice batch again, although Ty Lee does look a bit sloppy as you said. I especially like the Blue Spirit and the Puppetmaster scene. Have you tried the Hula Dancer's head for Joo Dee? That face always reminds me of her as it looks much more forced than any of the others to me.
  23. The only suit that I can think of that can be made with official parts is the "Bat Suit" using the upcoming black-winged Batman. All you have to do is switch out the hands and hips for purple ones and build his sonic gun. By the way, I think right now you can get a Bat-Jetski free with any $60 Lego purchase at TRU (US), but I'm not sure as their website contradicts itself.
  24. Now you get either a free Batman watercraft or a CMF Series 6 minifigure, plus one project case from TRU in the US with any LEGO construction set purchase of $60 or more. The link on their homepage and the link to the promotional items shows the CMFs, but everywhere else it says Batman watercraft (which I assume means the Batman Jetski polybag), so I don't know which one it is.
