Indeed, very simple yet effective! It's probably this, but I'm not sure.

That's some nose job! And nice one, Hobbestimus! More from me! First, some classic Hulk: Hulk Smash Wrong Guy by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Here's one that shows that Captain America isn't the only one who has a lot in common with Aang, based on this: Harry Potter VS. Avatar by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr And another little misunderstanding: The Darkseid of the Force by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr

Me too, especially now that we have seen the Hobbit game and nothing else. I hope it's not completely cancelled though.
-
Oh yeah, forgot about those. Thanks.

Nice! Thanks for sharing! I love Gandalf's hat. Looks like a fun game with lots of useful pieces! A little disappointing that all the dwarfs look the same though. Does anyone know what the green tiles are supposed to be? Also, are those upside-down tiles? How else would they attach them underneath 2x2 jumper plates?

Good idea for a thread. Can we have a poll for this please? I usually prefer minifigs too, but in some cases like the Hulk, I prefer the larger mold. While I don't mind the minifigure form that we're getting, I would also have liked to see Venom done as a large mold. That way his freaky tongue could have been included, and he would have looked like a real threat to Spidey & Friends. As for the ones you listed... Juggernaut? Since he has a similar stature to the Hulk, I would say yes. Darkseid? Tough call. He has always been rather big, but not as big as the Hulk, I think, so I'd say no. Thing? No. He's just as big as the rest of the FF, just with thicker skin, so I would like to see a minifig with rock monster arms and perhaps a head/chest mold like Chewbacca's. Clayface? Yes. He tends to be quite huge, so I would like something like the big rock monsters and trolls. This would also allow us to swap his hands for some brick-built weapons. Killer Croc? No. I think the way they did it in the original line was just fine, but he could a Bossk-like head. Colossus? Despite his name, I'd say no. He's not really any taller than other superheroes. Apocalypse? Also no. And I join you in hoping for a brick-built Sentinel and Galactus, especially if they're anything like BaronSat's MOCs! Other characters that would come in question: Ant/Giant Man: For Ant Man, they could use a microfig or a printed minifig trophy like they did in PotC. As for Giant Man, it would be cool if they could make a large version of a minifig, kinda like those torch lights. Groot: Maybe, although I think something like Woody and Jessie figs would suffice. Sandman (Spider-Man): Yes, same as Clayface. Solomon Grundy: Tough call, although I would say no, mainly because he would be useful for some purist custom zombie figs. The Abomination: Since he would have to be able to fight the Hulk, yes. Same goes for all the color variations of the Hulk (Red, Gray, etc.). Blob: Since being big is this character's main power, I'd say yes. There are probably others that I can't think of right now. I'll post them if I think of any more.

Very interesting Star Wars/Lord of the Rings comparison
Oky replied to SheepEater's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Dang. Even if I attempted a Ring Wars minifig mash-up, I don't think I would have come up with so many parallels. Although I must agree that about half of these are kind of a stretch. Thanks for sharing! EDIT: Apparently they made one with PotC as well, but that one seems even more stretched. -
I think we should just have a general thread for the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). The GotG movie should be interesting. I don't know much about them (their appearance in the Avengers cartoon was the first time I heard of them) so I don't know what to expect, but a movie about a team of interstellar heroes already sounds promising.

I don't think there will be new weapons. Star Lord's guns could easily be replaced by the new sci-fi guns from AQ (much like they did for Deadpool) and Rocket Raccoon's weapon could be replaced by the kind that the old Mr. Freeze had. Seems like the kind of thing TLG would do, anyway. As for the license, the movie comes out in 2014, and the Marvel/DC license was said to be a multi-year deal. Unless by "multi" they only meant two years (which I think is very unlikely, considering the success of this theme) there should be nothing standing in the way of GotG sets.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but FBTB put up some images of the concept art for Guardians of the Galaxy and Iron Man's new armor. Gives you an idea of what the minifigs would look like. As far as I can tell, they would only need new molds for Groot and Rocket Raccoon's head (and possibly tail). Guardians Of The Galaxy Concept Art by fbtb, on Flickr

Yup, The Simpsons Oky already did it. Thanks for the compliments everyone! And nice one, ryanoliono.

Warner Brothers planning CGI/live action LEGO film
Oky replied to Whittleberry's topic in Culture & Multimedia
You sure know a lot about doughnuts, don't you. The makers of the movie are having a contest where you design a vehicle, and if you win, you get $1000 and your MOC will get featured in the movie! Link to the teen/adult contest page. -
No, but it's a recurring vehicle from the cartoon, and seeing how much TLG loves motorbikes, I wouldn't be surprised if they included one. Cap's bike with a reverse color scheme is just my guess of how it would look. You can see it in .As for the Bat, no, those aren't legs, they're turbines, and you can clearly see it flying over a building in . Sorry if I spoiled anything.

Actor With Most Minifig Representations Within a Span of LEGO Licenses
Oky replied to tin7_creations's topic in LEGO Licensed
No, he voiced Fire Lord Ozai. He is? I knew about Von Nebula, but it would funny if he voiced two fire lords. And don't you mean HERO Factory? -
Thanks, everyone! I'm glad I haven't lost my touch. Haha, nice recreation of this image! A few Harry Potter funnies today! First, another LOTR crossover: Methods of Transportation by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Next, a little pun: Dumbbell-dore Dumbbell-dore by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr And finaly, a joke about two characters having the same actor and torso: Undercover Goblin by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr

Actor With Most Minifig Representations Within a Span of LEGO Licenses
Oky replied to tin7_creations's topic in LEGO Licensed
I agree. As much as I love Hamill's Joker, if we count him, we might as well count every other actor and voice actor who has ever portrayed the character since the minifig is based on the comics. -

And Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan and Deadpool (although, again, the latter is comic based, so it doesn't really count). -
Good observation, and nice modification ideas! Since this has already been bumped, let me say: Nice review! But there's on thing you need to correct - the Batman Symbol radar dish has NOT appeared in any other sets. The one in the old Batman sets was similar, but it was metallic gold and had a slightly different design, I think.

Good guesses, The Joker1. Here are some thoughts: Freeze set: I think it will come with a Bat-snowmobile. Venom set: Could also include Spidey's motorcycle from the show (Cap's Avenging Cycle with Spidey stickers). Dr. Doom set: With Jameson, a Bugle office would be the logical choice, but somehow I doubt that they would base a set of this size on a newspaper office. Besides, I think in the Ultimate Spiderman show, Jameson runs a TV channel, not a newspaper. And if the Doc Ock set is any indication, TLG is not basing the Spidey sets on episodes from the show, so it's anyone's guess what this set will be. Whatever it is, I hope it will include some brick-built Doombots though! TDKR set: I don't know what power suit thing you're talking about, but I'm guessing it will include The Bat, Batman's flying vehicle from the movie. Or it could have a SWAT car for Gordon and a motorcycle for Bats. Arkham: Like others, I don't think the set will be that large. I'm imagining/hoping it to be similar to the Vampyre Castle from Monster Fighters and only include one or two vehicles, just like the old Arkham. And I don't think Robin's bike will look like the one in the videogame, mainly since this is Red Robin and the color scheme wouldn't match the character. And there's no water around Arkham (except the sewers, which I doubt they'll include) so I think Pengy's sub is unlikey. I also think that the execution room is unlikely. Maybe it will include a room with a chair and a couch for Harley to try to treat Joker. Either way, there are a lot of possibilities for this set, but ultimately, I just hope it wont be such a disappointment like this year's Batcave.

I agree with almost everything you said, The Penguin! Especially about Freeze and Aquaman. The more I look at Freeze, the less I like him. He really shouldn't have such emotions, and he almost always wears goggles, so I don't see why they didn't give him any. I guess it's possible that he has some on the reverse side of his head, but I doubt it. I mean, why would he have goggles when he is calm and not have them when he's angry? Also, while it is interesting that they went for an AC-style helmet, I was really hoping they would make a new BTAS-style helmet mold. Oh well. As for Aquaman, I think he looks too boyish with that haircut. And yes, let's hope Mr. Freeze makes a fish stick out of him. However, unlike you, I like Scarecrow. He does look cartoonish, but in a charming way, I think. Just like Dr. Doom.

It was a hard pick for me between Harleen Quinzel and Ice Suit Batman since both look terrific and were nice surprises, but in the end I went for the latter since he will look great next to all the other Batsuits! As for Marvel, even though I'm happy to finally get Nick Fury, I had to pick Venom since he looks so awesome!
-
That sure is a nice lineup of minifigs. Venom looks great! However, I'm also a bit disappointed by some of the minifig choices, like choosing "Buckethead" Nova (whose helmet looks even more bucket-like in Lego) over Power Man or White Tiger or, you know, a Marvel hero who is actually popular. And Aquaman is one of the last JL members I would have wanted. Oh well, there's always the next wave. Also, I count five sets, so there's still the possibility of some exclusive sets. The way it looks to me from the FBTB pics, these are the sets: Arctic Batman and Aquaman vs. Mr. Freeze TDK Batman and Commissioner Gordon vs. Bane Arkham Asylum: Winged Batman, Robin, Guard, Scarecrow, Penguin, Joker, Harleen Quinzel, and Poison Ivy Spider-man and Nick Fury vs. Venom Nova (and Spider-Man?) save Jonah Jameson from Dr. Doom and Beetle Actually, that's pretty much what he looks like in USM without his trenchcoat, except that TLG took some creative freedom in changing the dark grey of his shirt to the more iconic dark blue (which I am thankful for). Sure, he is not as detailed as the one in the Lego-fied Avengers poster, but at least it's better than the plain black shirt he had in the movie. Some leg printing would have been nice, I guess, but any Nick Fury fig is welcome in my book! They (supposedly) said they wouldn't be making "Dark Night Rises sets". They never said anything about Dark Knight Rises sets.

Looks neat! Thanks for sharing! Are you doing this on purpose now?
-
I recommend watching it in order, but it's up to you. As for the visual style, it does take some getting used to, but I think it fits the Tron world.
-
Anyone else watching Tron Uprising? I recently caught up with all the episodes (they have most of them on the Disney XD site) and I must say it's a very good show! The character development, action, visual style, score, and voice cast are all outstanding! Much better than the movies the series is based on! While it retains the feel of the movies, it still manages to create its own world and story. I can really recommend it!
