Impressive, most impressive, as usual, AC! Too bad you couldn't get it done in time (would have been nice to include it in the CB entries collage), but I'll include it in the index anyway, since it's so awesome and basically just a combination/extension of your entries. Like others, I must pick the way you did the walls as my favorite part, although the beasts are made quite well too. The only part that bugs me a bit is the sand as it looks unfinished. Was the transition from all-tiles to plates intended or did you run out of tiles? Anyway, great work once again!

Uhm, sorry, but what does this have to do with Star Wars 1313? It's just a bunch of clones shooting... each other? The animation and effects are pretty good though.

So, I guess we can expect minifigs of Zod, Lois Lane, and possibly the Kents next year. And yes, I too am hoping for sets based on Iron Man 3 and the previous two films. Don't care so much for Thor, especially now that we already have multiples of him and his brother, but I wont say no if the sets are good.

Batman Minifig Customisation Contest
Oky replied to LuxorV's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
One question: Does our custom villain have to be an enemy of Batman or could it be the arch-nemesis of our hero from Category B? -
Suddenly losing all interest in a whole theme?
Oky replied to purpleparadox's topic in General LEGO Discussion
LOL, I think for me it was the other way around. I used to like the classic themes like Space and City, but after a while I got bored of them and became increasingly obsessed with licensed themes. I just love seeing my favorite franchises turned into Lego! Nowadays I get nearly every set of each licensed theme that comes out and only do a bit of "sampling" from the other themes, never buying anything above $15. I don't even buy Creator sets for parts anymore, which I used to do a lot (although this is probably due to the fact that Creator sets have hardly any rare colors or elements in them these days). The only non-licensed thing I'm really into are the CMFs. Each their own, I guess. -
Me too. Technically, I shouldn't have counted your entry (or Doc's for that matter), but there was no way I was gonna leave out such a nice scene, especially since it brought the entry count up to a 40! That looks very nice, just like your PM one. Too bad you couldn't post it a bit earlier.

Alright, the Attack of the Clones Community Build is now officially over. Even though less people signed up for this one than the Phantom Menace build and there were several who didn't get their entry in, we have compiled exactly 40 entries (if you count ACPin's Geonosis Arena modules separately)! This beats the previous record of 35 entries from the Phantom Menace CB! Therefore, I would like to thank you all very much for making this such a successful community build once again! And as I said before, don't worry if you didn't get your entry in on time; there will be other CBs. Stay tuned for the next big Star Wars building challenge!

Congratulations! Good luck spreading awesomeness of Friends! And remember: Friendship is Magic!

Well, I really shouldn't... but since I know how busy you are, being a regulator and blogger and all, I'll allow it. I'll wait with compiling the entries until tonight so that you can post your pictures. Anything that's not posted by then will not be counted. This also goes for you other procrastinators. And please, don't be discouraged if you don't make your entry in this time. There's always the next CB!

Haha, nice! That last one reminds me of this:

Does anyone know how much the PAB Batman & Robin costs (in USD)? Also, can you still get an Avengers poster by taking a picture with a minifig cutout in-store? My calendar says the promotion runs from May 21 to June 3. If so, how does it work? Do you show your picture on facebook to the cashier? The concept? It's a jet issued by S.H.I.E.L.D. for the Avengers to ride in. The set is fairly accurate to the one in the movie and well scaled to minifigs, although I think it could have been a bit bigger since the cockpit should be able to fit two pilots, but only seats one. Also, the one in the movie had big rotors on the wings for the craft to hover where Lego's version only has big SHIELD stickers. Aside from that, it's pretty spot-on.

Thanks, glad you like it! Also, I just realized that this is my 200th single pane Star Wars funny!

Hehe, not bad, even though I don't think hormones would do anything to a vehicle. Comparing mini models with System scale vehicles is always fun. Here are some new ones from me: Unfair Warfare by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Silver Surfer Silver Surfer by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr And here's another idea from LEGOman273: If you switch two letters in Captain Fordo, you get... Glad you could make it! It's very simple, but still nice. Personally, I find it more creative when people don't use official licensed parts to make a licensed MOC, and I was hoping someone would make this scene with the Series 7 Bride! The way you made the trees is also interesting, even though they look like palm trees, which is not very accurate. The wall could use some work too as it looks too blocky and high, so if you can, I would use plates instead of bricks for the upper and lower part of it. As for Anankin's hand, I think using one in a different color makes the most sense. I prefer gold (as you can see here), but yellow would work too.

Now, when I said "get creative", I meant be creative, not copy HISHE.

Ah, so this must be that Boba Fett game that was rumored. Except that doesn't really look like Boba. Sounds interesting indeed, although anything that's called a "mature Star Wars title" sounds good these days.

What's with all the disturbing pictures in this thread lately? Don't get me wrong, they certainly are good photographs and have some interesting social commentary, but the title of this thread asks for "funny interesting photos". Minifigs getting abused and murdered is hardly what I call funny. Yes, this is an adult website, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't keep some form of decency.

850423 LEGO Minifigure Display w/ Space Figure set
Oky replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Oh, silly me, I forgot about that major design flaw of that case. After giving it some thought, I guess the ones you were talking about are the best solution for displaying minifigs, but alas I can't find any of them either. My TRU still has the red one and a couple of the small ones, but it seems these are the last ones. Yes, I was talking about the one in the window. I don't know what the rest of it looks like, which is why I asked. And back in the day when regular large sets came with such windows, the parts weren't assembled. If anyone is planning to get these but is worried about dust, you could just get some trans-clear 1x6x5 panels from PAB or bricklink (possibly along with some white 1x6 bricks to fill the complete height of one display module), but it's still annoying that you have to get these separately. -
Thanks, everyone! You're not! Kidding aside, I'm sure anyone can do it. There are many themes to choose from, and we now have a theme about men and women in tights, most of whom have powers that don't really make sense, so you just have to get creative.

Hehe, nice. Anyone remember Thor's somewhat racist line? It made me think of Robert Downy Jr.'s line from another movie... God of Tropic Thunder by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr I wasn't sure where to post this one, but I figured people here would be more likely to get the joke: Wrong Suki by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr It aint easy being a Henchman by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr

There's still time! Here you go. And if those aren't enough:

850423 LEGO Minifigure Display w/ Space Figure set
Oky replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I like the idea behind this. I never liked the idea of spending money on something Lego related that isn't really Lego, such as minifig display cases, so a display case made out of Lego makes much more sense to me. Can anyone confirm that these are not glued? It says it's a 89-piece building toy on the front, and the pieces in the built model don't seem as perfectly attached as they usually are on glued models, but the odd fact that it comes pre-assembled makes me suspicious. I think he's talking about the official one, not the TRU ones, although that one is still available too, at least online. -
If that's how you feel, I guess the source material is to blame. But keep in mind that this is intentional in order to make the characters relatable. It's always easier to relate to a humanoid being than, say, a gelatinous blob. Yes, and it's also up there with my current favorite shows, although the latest episodes about recovering mystical relic weapons have gotten a bit cliche in my opinion.
-
How is a living planet humanoid? I haven't read the comics, but from all the other stuff I've seen of GL, there are Lanterns of all shapes and sizes, but yeah, the majority seem to be humanoid. That doesn't bother me too much, but the fact that the entire DC Universe seems to be speaking English has always bugged me too, even back in the DCAU. But like you said, maybe the rings translate what they hear and say for them (and us).
