  1. Very cool! They all look excellent, except maybe Superman who looks more like Loki with that hair and long staff/maul. I wonder how far one could take this. It would be cool if you could do this with all the other Super Heroes figs. Some will be easy, such as Tony Stark in a red/pearl gold knight's armor, and some will be hard, such as Thor and his brother who are already quite medieval looking. Maybe this could be done for other time periods as well such as Wild West or Pirates! By the way, I think this might belong in the Minifigure Customization Workshop, but we'll see what Cornelius says.
  2. Thanks everyone! Indeed, Batman's grin really makes it. It may be a very inappropriate expression for Batman, but it sure is useful for funnies! And nice ones, MannyLego! Since I received a lot of anti-Widow comments again in my last batch I decided to make this: Fake Widow by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr This is something the Dementors remind me of: Pogostickmentor by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr And here's Deadpool trying to join the Justice League. At least until he finds out that they don't pay. Deadpool Lantern by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr
  3. I do, but I don't think they would have been so sure that they will actually get the license back in 2008/2009 that they would cancel a popular theme. Heck, I don't even think they made the S3 Elf with the LOTR theme in mind, seeing as they didn't even use that hair piece for that theme. I could be wrong though, and this is getting a bit off topic.
  4. I very much agree, but I think I would prefer them to keep going rather than to do a reboot so that Iron Man can stay in the MCU and so that we don't have to sit through his origin story again like we did with Spidey. I guess they can always cast his lookalike Johnny Depp.
  5. Yup, already supported, although I would really like to see the theme done in dark blue or another uncommon color. No offense, Kiel, but I don't think those are good ideas. The sports themes Lego has done in the past (soccer, basketball, hockey, Gravity Games) worked because you could actually recreate the sport with the minifigs somewhat. With themes like tennis and baseball, all you can do is imagine the minifigs to hit a ball back and forth, and with themes like boxing and football, you can only move the minifigs around and bump them into each other. Not exactly great playability, which is why I think Lego hasn't done them yet and probably never will. But maybe it's just because I don't like sports.
  6. I think I'd want a Galaxy Patrol theme. Something with the great designs from SP3 and AQ, but with a dark-blue and trans-orange color scheme! They could fight against hostile robots or aliens. I also like the time travel idea that was mentioned, something along the lines of Monster Fighters, but with different time periods instead of different monster themes. The problem with that, however, would be that you would only get one or two sets from one time period, which I can't really call a "proper theme". A fairy tale theme sounds nice too, but I think I'd prefer a line based on classic Disney movies. I doubt that. Fantasy Era Castle was ended back in 2009, and the LOTR license was announced only less than a year ago.
  7. So Joker is a Lakers fan, eh? Makes sense because of their colors. Not bad, but as you said, it needs some work. The overall picture has a greenish look to it. I would play around with it to make it more yellowish. And I didn't recognize that that was supposed to be Harley at first. Perhaps you could put the fleshie arms on her usual body to make a swimsuit out of it. Don't you mean Bruce Wayne? That's whose head Loki has.
  8. I disagree. More characters does not mean more money. In fact, that's what almost ruined Iron Man 2. Things are already pointing to Ant Man, Wasp, Falcon, and the Guardians to be in the movie. Isn't that enough? Besides, ASM isn't part of the MCU, so it would be rather awkward to shoe horn it into it. That said, I don't see why Spidey couldn't be introduced in a future Avengers movie (should Marvel get the rights back). They pulled it off quite nicely in the latest episode of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Yes, I think introducing Thanos is the main reason why they are making the GotG movie, but I doubt that they would end the movie on a "We're doomed" note. It makes more sense if they did it like they did with Loki by having Thanos defeated, but leaving the possibility of his return open, and introducing the "disaster" in Avengers 2. And I agree about Black Panther. He would need his own movie first to be in the Avengers, but that doesn't seem to happen anytime soon.
  9. Like others have said, most of the adventurers stuff and the Monster Fighters are good for steampunk figs. Also, if you can still find the Hoth rebel battle pack, it's also a good source of tan torsos and hats, dark tan legs, and goggles. The pilot from the Naboo planet set and the upcoming collectable minifigure with the bowler hat should be useful too. Uhm, wouldn't that make them Dinopunk? Dinosaurs don't really fit into steampunk.
  10. Praiter Yed - 1 (As it has already been pointed out, genius!) The Penguin - 1 (How can you not love The Penguin's customs? Customizing a minidoll to represent one's sigfig is pretty much the definition of "friendsifying your avatar"!) Etzel - 1 (An obvious, yet perfectly fitting choice! ) Lovely avatars all around, my Friends!
  11. Thanks. Indeed, lets not, but you're welcome to tell us who should win on Flickr. Since it is the opening weekend of TDKR, here's a funny with Bats and Bane which shows why Batman chose Lego to make sets of him instead of Megabloks: Quality Plastic by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Toyception by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Mystery Drone by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr
  12. Great pictures, Smokebelch! Glad to have you back! I for one love all the figs from that set (or this wave in general) and can't wait to get my hands on them! Was the resemblance to the Brady Bunch title screen intended?
  13. Indeed, a very good movie, and a deserving, epic conclusion to the trilogy, with the possibility of a spin-off left open. Anne Hathaway did a better job as Catwoman than I expected, and Bane was thankfully more understandable than in the sneak peek from December, although it was still difficult at times, and his voice sounded unnaturally amplified throughout the whole movie. And while I'm still not a big fan of Bale as Batman (I still hate his Batman voice), even he did a good job. Overall it was really enjoyable though, and I nearly cried when Alfred did! While I wouldn't call these the perfect Batman movies, I agree that it will be nearly impossible to make a better one than these last two, but I'd love to be proven wrong. We'll just have to wait and see. Avengers is still the best movie of the year though.
  14. Awww! What a great group picture! Great job, and thanks for including all of our heroes! It would be great if you made one for the villains too!
  15. Hello. Haven't posted in here in a while. Some great new customs lately, with Bane clearly stealing the show! I too would love to see more of your great work, Pengy! Lego Batman 2 should provide you with lots of inspiration, whether it is the new Batman and Robin suits, or all the new characters from the rest of the DC Universe. And while I know your hatred for the Nolan trilogy, it would be great to see you tackle some of the characters from those movies.
  16. You know, looking at The Penguin's custom Bane, I wish they would have done him in a similar fashion too. Another Candidate for a large mold, in my opinion, would be Gorilla Grodd. He could be like the gorillas from Lego Batman 2, possibly with a normal minifig head connection so that we could exchange it for the regular Gorilla head from the CMFs.
  17. Wow, that's great! I've been playing with the thought of buying the Vampyre Castle just for this purpose too, but now that we're (most likely) getting another official Arkham soon, I'll wait to see how that one turns out. I love all the details you put into the interior. I especially like Mr. Freeze's, uhm, freezer. However, while Penguin's cell is very nicely executed as well, I don't think that he actually likes low temperatures, but maybe that's just my interpretation of the character. Nice work! Let's hope the upcoming set will be at least close to this good!
  18. Weren't those originally from Belville? And so what? Parts get reused all the time.
  19. Yeah, I guess they wanted to create something between the comic and cartoon version. Same with Nova, although I would have preferred it if he was black. I think by "hight-tech enemy" they mean Beetle, but maybe you're right. Knowing this, it seems odd that we get JJJ, but not MJ. I would love to see a version of her with Ginny's hair in red!
  20. Uhm, hasn't that been available for quite a while now? I considered buying it on numerous occasions, but could never gather enough interest for it.
  21. He's obviously from the Ultimate Spiderman, but they changed the dark gray of his shirt to dark blue, just like they did with NOVA.
  22. Fun idea, but as mentioned, unlikely. A cartoon version of him has appeared in a few episodes of Ultimate Spiderman where he is the janitor of Parker's high school, so if they ever make a set based on his school, it would be possible for him to be included, along with Agent Coulson (who is the principal).
  23. Neat, thanks! Although I wont watch them as I don't want any spoilers. By the way, I checked out that new Carebears show thinking it just might be as good as MLP:FiM. Boy was I wrong! It completely lacks the charm, witty writing, and good animation of FiM. It's just another mediocre show that's clearly aimed at young children. In one episode, the characters spent 10 minutes debating over who should climb a ladder as if it was the most dangerous and difficult thing to do. Seriously. Glad to see others here liking the show! Yeah, Tron's face does look weird, but everyone else looks fine, I think. Sweet! I don't think any of us had any doubt that there would be a second season, but it's good to have confirmation. While it does seem like the kind of thing Marvel fans had feared when Disney bought Marvel, I don't see what's so bad about it. It's not like this is canon, and it's not like they'll make a whole series out of this in place of a more serious one or something. It's just a special crossover episode featuring Marvel characters. I don't see the difference between this and, say, Robot Chicken's upcoming DC special (which I'm excited for), and I don't see how this could possibly be worse than Super Hero Squad show or Ultimate Spider-man. I for one, being a fan of P&F and its humor, am looking forward to this. Anyone else here watching Motorcity (besides Pepper)? I'm really starting to like this show. I love the Duke of Detroit! That dude's got style!
  24. At last, the first non-staff entry for this contest! Looks very cool! While I don't think that this fits into the Friends theme, it didn't say anything in the rules that it had to, so you should be fine. Otherwise you can always enter it in Category 3a. Good job and good luck! And let's hope that these Friends are on our side.
  25. Well, I enjoyed games like these as a kid. Can't say how I would feel about them now without trying it... Mind making those public so that we can see them? And I agree about the hobbit microfigs, but it wouldn't have made much sense for them to be the same height as the others anyway.
