  1. Are we allowed to apply decals digitally?
  2. Wow, great idea for a contest! I already have lots of ideas for this, so I'm very glad we can submit as many entries as we want! Great prizes too! But wait - FBTB has a contest like this too? I guess they haven't posted it yet because I haven't heard anything about it.

    SoF: The Friend Ship

Haha, thanks. Just tell her to buy the Dolphin Cruiser; it's very similar. Thank you!
  4. Hm, interesting rumor, and a plausible one too. The Danish article did say that it was a "small product launch" with possible higher production later on if the theme is successful. They could be testing the waters with a CMF wave and then produce actual sets if the minifigs sell well. This would also eradicate all the concerns about sets that depict adult situations, at least for now. That set rumor list from a little while back did sound very fishy to me. On the other hand, deskp does have a point. While it is simple to integrate non-licensed CMFs into Lego City and other Lego themes, Simpsons minifigs would be a lot harder to integrate into a layout. And if these are going to be sold in blind bags too, it would discourage the few people who would be interested in Simpsons figs from buying them even more. Plus, if they do produce sets after a CMF line, who would want to buy sets with the main characters in them if they already collected them? I for one wouldn't mind if this was true. The minifigs are the only thing I'd be interested in in this theme, so if that's all we get that's fine by me. And it would be great if the next CMF waves would be licensed. We really need a collectable Super Heroes minifigs line!
  5. Thanks! Nah, Bane probably would have broken the bat.
  6. Just watched all three parts. It's pretty neat, as is the Pai Sho game (which I haven't been able to play yet somehow ). And yeah, the animation does seem rather wind-wakery. Just watched it last night and I thought it was okay. Sure, it was very gimmicky, with lots of stuff for Hasbro to make toys out of and lots of fan service, but I think they handled the story fairly well. It definitely wasn't as bad as many bronies made it out to be and there are much worse high school dramas out there. In fact, they seemed to focus more on the fish-out-of-water aspect of it than the high school aspect. For the most part it felt like a two-part MLP:FIM episode, just in a different setting, so if you like the show, you'll probably like this movie too. I liked the Equestria Girls song, although the Katy Perry parody is still better and should have been in the movie in my opinion. The rest were just okay. Overall, as you said yourself, it was entertaining enough. Well, if you were a brony, you'd probably be looking for the unicorn trilogy. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

    Star Wars

I know I'm in the minority here, but I liked the look of RotS and was kinda hoping they'd continue with that technology. I was also kinda looking forward to the first SW film in real 3D which might have been interesting, but I have no interest in the 3D if it's converted (I hear the 3D in Star Trek sucked). And while the statement that doing CG effects on film is not as easy as on digital film is true to an extent, it doesn't say anything about how many props they are going to use. It's still very possible for them to do everything in CG, it just gives the VFX artists more work. But yeah, I'd prefer more props as well.
  9. I'd say "I, Monster". It was nice and dark and they made the Rat King even creepier than in the comics or the 2003 series. His new costume reminded me of Scarecrow from The New Batman Adventures.
  10. Awesome. Who is the girl getting kicked in the face by Deadpool?
  11. I agree with everything you said, Kintobor. The finale was good, but could have been better. It was pretty predictable for the most part and not many questions got answered. The parts with Splinter made up for that a bit though. By the way, FBTB and CBR have written up their coverage of the TMNT panel at SDCC. They contain spoilers, so read at your own risk. Looks like there are lots of new mutations coming our way, and even the return of Bebop and Rocksteady might be a possibility down the line. Here is the teaser: Now I want new Lego sets even more!
  12. Firefly!
  13. Not bad. The shape of the head is good, but the face is a little off. I think the chin needs to extend further down, and the eyes don't look right. I'd suggest using cheese slopes like I did on my transforming Batmobile. Other than that, nicely done.
  14. Wow, that monkey is amazing! It looks incredibly posable! Even the eyebrows and ears seem to be posable! I wonder why they didn't give him jointed elbows, but that should be an easy fix. This is the first Creator set in a long time that I would actually be excited to have. I'm tired of miniature vehicles in primary colors and hope that this means a return to the Designer sets which had clever designs and rare parts that made them worth buying for me.
  15. I think you have to push them down in the back, seeing as they left a huge gap between the shooter and the gunner on the AT-AP and BARC Speeder and the missiles have an indent at the top.
  16. Nice work! I agree with the other comments. Nice liquid effects and a good balance of colors and textures.
  17. Great Scott! Clonie is a Licensed Regulator now? That's heavy. Congrats! Even though I usually don't see you around much, I think you are the right person for the job! Too bad you had to give up your blogger status for it. Thanks for all your help! Excelsior!
  18. That Kashyyyk BP is ridiculously awesome. 4 great figs with guns that actually shoot studs? Sold! I'm also loving the microfighters. They seem like a cute and stylish new approach to small SW sets and allow us to get some minifigs cheap without a useless planet piece. The rest is just okay. The "Great Vehicles" aren't so great to me. I feel like they could have been more accurate, especially the wheel bike, but oh well. The Saleucami and DS BPs are disappointing too. What do you need an army of Royal Guards and Gunners for? And only one clone in the Battle of Saleucami? While I like the idea of these new spring loaded shooters, I hate the way it is incorporated into this speederbike. I'll probably still buy them for the figs though. So far I'm pleased though and look forward to seeing the final versions and the rest of the sets.
  19. Okay, I agree with most of your complaints there, except I'm not as obsessed with Wasp as you, but those all seem very nitpicky. True, Falcon is not nearly as cool as Panther and it's odd how they're completely ignoring the Banner side of Hulk, but I guess it's because Hulk is a hundred times more marketable than Banner. He never turns into Banner in any of the other Marvel Universe shows either. It looks like Disney just said: "He's big, he's green, and he smashes. That's all kids care about, so that's what we'll give them." But while I do enjoy seeing Banner, I can live with it. And the claim that AA is a continuation of A:EMH was obviously just something they said to appease the fans. That didn't make sense ever since they announced that Falcon would be much younger in this show. Which begs to question: What continuity is it set in then? The Avengers keep referring to an earlier time when they were Avengers, but then split up because they didn't get along or something. When did this happen? It's very confusing and it's the same issue everyone had with the TMNT movie from 2007.
  20. Who doesn't enjoy Sonic SatAM? I recently watched it on Netflix and I can definitely see why so many people cherish it so much. It's an overall well made show with great characters and a good story. It certainly had its flaws *coughAntoineCough* but no other Sonic show and few other cartoons can touch it. I also enjoyed Sonic Underground. While it's obviously inferior to SatAM, it had a good story, some good characters, and some of the music wasn't bad either. Too bad the main plot arc never got resolved. I wasn't a fan of Sonic X due to the Japanese animation and the Earth setting, but maybe I need to give it a second try. And AoStH was just silly. Yeah, the first episode was a bit iffy, but the others are pretty good. The tone of the show is pretty close to BTAS and the fact that they use obscure villains makes the episodes unpredictable. I like Magpie and Anarky and I'm curious to see what they'll do with Ra's. The only thing that still bugs me is Alfred's appearance and voice. He looks nothing like Alfred and his accent sounds more Australian than British, but maybe it's just me. I'm also enjoying Avengers Assemble. It's no EMH, but it still has the humor and action you'd expect from an Avengers show, plus some pretty good animation. I think all the people complaining about this show are just still butt-hurt about EMH. Hulk and the Agents of SMASH on the other hand... ugh. I can agree with any criticism made towards this show. I usually like Seth Green, but man is he annoying in this! And did anyone watch Phineas & Ferb: Mission Marvel? I thought it was pretty good. I liked all the references to Marvel movies like Howard the Duck, and MODOK meeting the giant floating baby head was hilarious. The songs were just okay though and were mostly just pointless filler. Also, Phineas blowing off on Candace like that seemed very out of character to me. But other than that, it was quite entertaining. Just one question: Where the heck was Cap? They didn't even acknowledge him, which seemed odd considering Red Skull was the main villain. Oh well.
  21. Some interesting news about Finding Dory (includes some spoilers): Pixar changes ending after seeing a documentary. Thanks for your impressions, Flipz! Also, that's an interesting theory. There is not really enough evidence for me to believe it, but you might be on to something. Speaking of shared universe theories, have you read this? It's a theory about how all Pixar films take place in the same universe. It's kind of ridiculous, but at the same time would explain a lot of things. That's one person I wouldn't mind stalking me. In fact, I'd consider it an honor.

  23. Like my fellow Star Wars fans here, I had never heard of this game before. Because of this and because this set doesn't include any pieces or minifigs of interest to me, I don't really care about it. It looks cute, though, and seems like a good adaption of the source material, so good for the fans of the game I guess. I don't see anything standing in the way of it passing the review.
  24. Ah, thanks Pellaeon. I guess there is still some hope then. I was also wondering about the Planets sets. I can understand if they can't sell the boardgames due to licensing issues, but why would they deny us the last (and arguably best) series of Planet sets? Oh well, I digress.
  25. Ken Robichaud does!
