  1. Thanks for the links, but for me it's the other way around. The figs are pretty sweet in my opinion, whereas the vehicles are just your usual ridiculous Ninjago motorbikes, jets, and mechs. The new hairpieces as well as the mouth cover pieces are going to be very useful, and I always love me some cyborgs! Although I don't get why they didn't just use tan Anakin hair for Lloyd like they do in the show... Then again maybe that is Anakin's hair from the 2014 sets... Also, am I the only one who thinks that Kai looks a lot like Strider Hiryu?
  2. Maybe a serious face for Mikey and a happy face for the others? Although if they didn't do those in the first wave, I don't know why they would do them in the second. Besides, having Mikey be the only serious one would be pretty bizarre.
  3. Yeah, I'm REALLY hoping we get the turtles with white eyes this time around! I don't think the movie-based sets would have those since they are supposed to look realistic, but if we do get more sets based on the cartoon, we still have a chance since they do have those eyes occasionally in the show. Just look how much more awesome they look this way! Lean Green Ninja Team by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr
  4. Am I the only one who's been keeping up with Korra? I think it's pretty good. I like how the new season doesn't take place in the city and delves a bit more into the spirit world and how the new villain is a sympathetic one. Korra doesn't seem to evolve much as a character though, and I do agree that the Book 1 finale was quite rushed. Still a good show though. As for Shezow... a young superhero whose superpower is cross-dressing? What a weird premise. I'm not sure I want to watch that... It's great to see Xiaolin Showdown is back, even though it's called Xiaolin Chronicles now and most of the names and voice actors are different.
  5. Thanks for sharing. Lego seems to be making several Friends shorts that make up one special like this each year. Last year we had New Girl In Town, which is the special that is on Netflix currently. They're not bad as they teach kids some good lessons and I'm sure the target audience loves them. Please, do tell how Friends is worse than Lego's previous girl themes or other atrocities like Galidor. Just because something isn't aimed at you doesn't make it the worst thing ever. I agree, Time Cruisers was awesome. But let's not turn this into a "Which themes are bad" thread.
  6. Very good and creative work here! I am a fan of Super Heroes and Star Wars crossovers, so this really appeals to me. I like how each room has its own theme. There are lots of nice details and humorous things going on. The Spider-Man room is a nice reference to this. Your Starspeeder 3000 also looks great, although the doors open the wrong way. This could easily be fixed by using hinge plates. The Bat-Crane and Rancor are hilariously awesome as well. Nice job!
  7. Thanks everyone! Hehe, sorry, I couldn't resist. Anyway, it's been a bit slow in here lately, so here are some more to keep the thread going: SCars by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Wrong Sauron by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Flux-Binocular by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr
  8. Well, there are still a few things they could make sets out of from the first season, such as the Turtle Sub, the Patrol Buggy, and the Turtle Gliders from the season finale, not to mention anything we might see in the second season. Plus I'm still holding out hope for the Turtle Blimp that was hinted at in the Turtle Lair Attack set. And there are still tons of characters that could (and should) be made into minifigures!
  9. Wow, 7 sets and only 3 of them based on the movie? That's great news! I hope this is true and that it stays at 3 movie-based sets. I also think that the movie Turtles will have a darker shade of green and maybe new head molds, depending on how much Bay screws up their look. I'm guessing this will be a summer wave. Perhaps TMNT and Ninjago will take turns for set releases in the foreseeable future?

    Star Wars

I'd say show the OT first, then the PT, as seeing the PT first might be off-putting to the average viewer and this way your friend can experience SW the way all the original fans experienced it. It's good to know what happens in the OT when watching the PT, but you don't need to watch the PT to enjoy the OT.
  11. Thank you! And thanks for pointing that mistake out.
  12. Protecting our planet from all alien attacks, the Alien Defense Unit is always on the job. Therefore, their camping van is just a smaller version of their mobile headquarters. Complete with rocket launchers, a trailer lab, and a small Vic Viper, this camper is ready to take on any alien conquerors! 13. I agree with the above statements. This seems to be intended to be a transitioning system for older kids who are growing out of the Lego age and into the glue-and-paint model age. However, I fail to see the point of the studs seeing as most of the parts aren't interchangeable. I think Revell's SnapTite system of models that simply snap together makes a lot more sense.
  14. Based on the toy from the 90's, here's a TMNT version of the VW Camper, the Turtle Party Van! It features radical door opening action and a skateboard for Mikey! Cowabunga! 15. Don't you mean in the comments thread? Don't want anyone to get confused.
  16. Well, I for one hope that these rumors are true and am looking forward to this theme. Sure, I usually prefer minifigs too, but in this case I'm fine with it being minidolls as I don't think the spindly Disney princesses would translate into minifigs well. Thin characters just end up looking fat in minifig form as evidenced by the Ahsoka minifig and all the custom Disney minifigs out there. And after the success of Friends, I'm not surprised that TLG would go this route. I just really hope that they put as much love and care into the design of these sets as they do with Friends. The Friends sets are always very well designed and have a good balance between realistic and girly colors, so I hope to see this in this theme too, although I would of course prefer it if they focused more on realistic colors. If they do a good job with the Cinderella Castle and make it look like the one in Disneyland parks, it will be a must-buy set for any Disney fan next year. I also hope that these sets will include more characters than just the titular princesses. Ariel’s Magical Kiss kind of requires Eric to be in it, so I hope the other sets will include the princesses' love interests and sidekicks too. Ultimately, I hope that this line will be successful so that we may see sets based on all the other Disney classics in the future, even if they will be girl-oriented. Girly Disney sets are better than no Disney sets in my opinion. A clever way of selling this theme would be to have Sleeping Beauty based sets in the summer to tie in with the Maleficent movie.
  17. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing all this info. I didn't even know that the Alpha Team game preceded the sets. I was never really into the theme as I never played the game and didn't have many of the sets, but I did like the idea and look of it. I like me a good spy theme, and I loved Agents, so I'm glad they made Alpha Team. I would have loved a game like Lego Logic though as I really liked The Incredible Machine! But I don't think it would have translated into an actual theme very well. It just seems too surreal and disjointed to work and I don't think they would have made a minifig completely made out of rubber either (even though some minifigs today are already half made out of rubber). Plus we have gotten very similar minifigs to those from that version of the game in the CMFs line, so I don't think we missed out on anything. I find it funny, though, that TLG didn't like the mix-and-matching of themes because it "didn’t fit in with how they market LEGO themes" seeing how they produced Time Cruisers just a few years prior to that meeting. I guess they must have learned their lesson after the failure of that theme. Although they made games at the time that combined themes too, like Lego Racers, so I don't see why they didn't want to make this one. I guess they really wanted a game that they could base a theme on. An Alpha Team Space subtheme would have been cool, but at least we did get Ogel's rocket, and I think Rock Raiders was the replacement for a subterranean subtheme.
  18. The All-Terrain Camper Van or AT-CV is the perfect vehicle for any vacationing clone. Based on the design of the AT-TE, it has six mechanical legs which allow it to travel over the rockiest of roads and even up cliff walls. With its six anti-personnel laser cannons and top-mounted mass driver cannon, the AT-CV is prepared for any surprise Separatist, bear, or even mosquito attacks. 19. Yeah, the only thing it really has in common with the camper is the scale and the area around the wheel wells. Modifying the front could help, but the problem is that the front of the StarSpeeder is probably the most iconic part about it aside from the five stepped doors. Trying to find a good mix between the flat front of the camper and the long, angled front of the StarSpeeder will be difficult...
  20. Thanks, I'll post that one next. By the way, does anyone think that the design of my StarCamper entry deviates too much from that of the original set? Apparently it was too obscured for the FBTB contest, so I thought I'd ask here if it's too much for this contest too (although personally I think there are several entries here that deviate from the camper design a lot more than mine).
  21. For those getting sick of getting involved in dangerous space battles on their Star Tours flight to Endor, there is the VW StarCamper 3000. Based on the StarSpeeder 3000, this is a smaller, camper-sized vessel that you can use to go camping with your family. Just don't let an RX pilot droid drive it or you'll never get to Endor. 22. Darn, beat to an idea once again... That TMNT Party Van is great. I'll still post my own, though, since mine is a little different. Thank you! Your cat bus is excellent as well.

  25. Two AT-AT versions already? Darn, I was going to do that. I guess the "give it legs" hint in the contest description was too obvious. Oh well, I might still make my own take on it. Nice entries so far everyone. Keep them coming!
