  1. Some better pictures of the actual sets from Lego's Facebook: Sounds like an interesting concept. I'm already sold on these due to the new ball joints and eyes alone. It will be interesting to see where this goes.
  2. Thanks! Glad you like them. What type of tire the karts have depends on how much grip the driver wants them to have. I like to think that each racer has a different amount of speed, accelaration, and handling, like in racing games like Mario Kart.
  3. Since it is Comic Con weekend, here's my follow-up to my DC Superheroes Racers: Marvel Racers! In order to be able to compete with DC, all the Marvel heroes and villains built racers for themselves too! First up, we have the racers of three of the Avengers. Since the Hulk is a larger than life hero, his racer is equally as big and strong. It's a military jeep that has been turned into a monster truck! Hulk gives a whole new meaning to the term road rage, so other racers would do best to stay out of his way unless they want to make him angry, and you do NOT want to make Hulk angry. Thor's racer in the colors of his costume while Captain America's racer is an American flag on wheels. Cap's racer has a clip on the back that allows him to attach his shield there, giving him ultimate protection from the back! Meanwhile, the Hulk has a spare tire. Here we have the fourth Avenger Iron Man together with a friend and a foe. Much like their armors, Iron Man's and War Machine's racer are very similar aside from their colors. The Mandarin's racer is a smaller version of his flame-throwing bumper cart from the Ultimate Showdown set. Even from the back, Iron Man and War Machine's Racers look very similar. And just like in the Ultimate Showdown, Mandarin has a flame thrower on top of his cart. Rounding out the Avengers team are Nick Fury and his shield agents. Hawkeye's racer is inspired by his truck from Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape. Fury's racer is a smaller version of his hovercar in the Spider-Cycle Chase. And Black Widows kart is, well, black. While Black Widows racer is sleek and fast, Hawkeye's is powerful and heavily armored. Fury's car can't transform, but it's still made up of state of the art SHIELD technology. Look out, here comes the Spider-Racer! Along with his friends, Iron Fist and Nova, they make an unbeatable racing team! Spidey's racer has the same patriotic colors as his costume as well as a big spider logo on the front. Iron Fist's racer is partly shaped like Shou-Lao, the dragon he slayed to get his powers. And Nova's is in the same colors as his costume. Iron Fist's spoiler even has the shape of dragon wings! Hot on Spider-Man's trail are three of his worst enemies! Venom's racer, much like his appearance, is a black and white version of Spidey's. Doc Ock's kart is a smaller version of the vehicle he had in his Lab set. Green Goblin's racer is made of the same Oscorp technology as his glider. As you can see here, Green Goblin's racer has a similar exhaust as his glider and Venom's spoiler is a bit more spiky than Spidey's. Here we have a few more, somewhat obscure villains. First, there is Thor's brother Loki whose racer is made out of Chitauri technology. Doctor Doom's racer has the same colors as his plane and bears the Latverian symbol. Riding alongside him is his henchman, the Beetle. His racer's headlights resemble big bug eyes. The Beetle's spoiler is made out of the same material as his wings and Loki's racer has the same exhausts as the Chitauri ships. Wolverine is the best at what he does, and what he does is make his rivals eat his dust! His racer is made out of adamantium and has the typical X-Men colors. That makes it indestructible, but also susceptible to his main villain, Magneto, whose racer has magnets mounted onto it of course! Meanwhile, Deadpool is just in it for the prize money. His racer has his signature colors and a big "D" on the hood. Magneto's racer even has a magnet in the back. Wolverine's spoiler resembles a certain haircut. And Deadpool's racer has his logo on the back. Let the race begin! Vote for your favorite Marvel racer above and let us know who you think should win, Marvel or DC? As before, if you like these, please support them on Cuusoo: http://lego.cuusoo.c...deas/view/42554
  4. My first thought: WTF? Never heard of this show. The characters look rather odd, but at least they'll be useful parts packs (eye balls, yellow bush, and other parts in rare colors). Also, is that a new claw piece on Flain's feet?
  5. Oh, I see, never mind.
  6. Wrong, as far as I know it was only sold at SDCC, and the early reviews were sets that were issued out to fan sites for review. Lego stores will start selling it in August. EDIT: At least in the US.
  7. Ultron, eh? Sounds good. Kinda makes more sense too, since having another alien attack Earth would be a bit redundant. So either Thanos is waiting for Avengers 3 or he will be the villain in Guardians. Considering that Nebula, Thanos' daughter, will be in GotG, the latter seems more likely, Either way I'm cool with it. Yeah, it does seem odd, but it could work. IMDb says 1 May 2015, though I'm not sure if that's confirmed. I don't think it will have anything to do with the comics. They're just using the title. By the way, here's also some concept art and more info on the Guardians of the Galaxy:
  8. Yeah, I would also love Darkseid to be the villain in the JL movie, and since it has been pretty much confirmed now that Thanos will not be in Avengers 2, it's possible that it might happen! However, they could also do it like in the cartoons where Martian Manhunter comes to Earth to warn them about an alien invasion. Of course that would be even more cliche and ripping off Marvel, but it would make sense in terms of bringing all these characters together. Still, crossing my fingers for Darkseid! Right, because the Justice League movie will totally fail if we don't see Batman's origin story one more time. Seriously though, he's Batman. That's all you need to know. He's more or less always the same. I do see your point about WW though. She is one of the main League members and never had a good movie made about her, so people wont have the connection to her than they did with the main four Avengers. However, she is not a very interesting character on her own these days and DC knows that. They've been trying to make a WW movie for years and could never settle on a script they liked. Who knows, maybe Whedon could have pulled it off, but maybe we're better off without a WW movie. I don't think putting her into a Widow/Hawkeye role (i.e. introducing her in a cameo in one of the other movies) is really possible, so I think they would have to introduce her in the JL movie. With the right director it could work, but it will be harder to pull off than with a solo movie.
  9. I kinda know what you mean, but I disagree. I thought it added to the creepiness of that scene nicely. Also: Super Ponies! Me likey. EqD has some info on Season 4. Everything sounds promising so far!
  10. Yeah, supposedly something will happen in the Beast Hunters finale that will "change the Transformers universe forever" which implies that the next Transformers series will have some kind of connection to this show. My personal favorite Soundwave moment was when he effortlessly got rid of Airachnid and her army. That was just badass.
  11. Ooh, I quite like that design! Even better than the 2005 design! And yes, I think the return to the orange logo seems to be another sign that this will be a very ROTS focused wave.
  12. Well, I for one am not, and this is pretty much why: Plus I agree with Nolan that his more realistic Batman wouldn't really mix well with the world of MoS.
  13. Excellent, Mood! I'm glad you're continuing this series! This looks very cool and seems very appropriate for the Comic Con weekend. I especially like the big Batman logo on the hood and the extra exhausts in the back! Keep the Bat Wars MOCs coming! Perhaps you could do a Millennium Batwing next? Or Darth Joker's TIE Advanced?
  14. Oh man, I SO want every single fig in that trailer!! Also, Hulks pants finally ripped!
  15. Today it was announced that in the next Man of Steel, Superman will team up with Batman! Director Zack Snyder and screenwriter David Goyer will return for the film, which is expected to be released in 2015, pushing the Justice League movie back to 2017. No word yet on who will play Batman. This is great news to me. I wasn't very impressed with MOS, but I do like the new interpretation of Superman, and I would love to see him finally team up with the Dark Knight on the big screen! The fact that the JL movie got pushed back is good, too, because it would have been too rushed if they would have released it in 2015 in my opinion. This way it gives more time for other solo movies like The Flash. Can't wait to see how this turns out!
  16. Indeed I did! That trailer was great! It's about time Korra returned, especially since Futurama and Transformers: Prime, the only good cartoons left on TV, will be cancelled by then. Speaking of which, Transformers seems to be getting better with every episode! The new Optimus is awesome, and Soundwave is easily my favorite Transformer now. It will be sad to see this show go, but at least it seems like it will end on a very high note. New cartoons like Avengers Assemble and Beware the Batman aren't bad, but certainly not great either. I actually don't get the hate towards AA. Sure, it's not as good as EMH, but it's better than, say, Ultimate Spider-Man. As for Batman, it's not quite as dark as I would like it to be. They really seem to have toned down Professor Pyg and Mr. Toad. If this is going to be the main villain of the show, I can't see it being very good. And as many have feared, they completely ruined Alfred. He looks and sounds like Lex Luthor. WTF? Also, I preferred the silent Katana from B:TBATB, but if she is supposed to be Bats' new sidekick, I can see how that would be a problem. In addition, the visual style looks too "clean" for a Batman show (although it does remind me of The Incredibles a lot), and the first episode just wasn't very interesting as it didn't do much besides introduce the characters. We'll have to see if it gets better in the next episodes, but so far I'm not impressed.
  17. Really? You'd rather pay for nothing than to get 304 useful Lego parts with your figs just because you don't like the design of the set? I don't get the hate for this set. The Batmobile looks pretty cool to me, perhaps even better than the last one we got. The dragster is kind of ridiculous looking and is obviously just fluff for the set, but at least it has some useful parts. I would have preferred a new villain too, but I'm happy to get a green hat and golden cane/crowbar for Riddler. $30 seems quite fair for a set like this. And why are people expecting boots on the Flash? Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Nova, all of those characters don't have boots either, so why should Flash? As long as it's not completely necessary like on Wonder Woman, I don't think we can expect boot printing on any Super Heroes minifigs.
  18. At last: SENTINELS! Here is a first look at them.
  19. Agreed. I'm very disappointed with this one-set-reveal-per-theme thing they seem to be doing this year. In the Super Heroes set, they at least revealed a new major and highly demanded character, the Flash. In this set however, there isn't even a named character except for Gree, who admittedly is pretty cool, but not enough to wow the crowd. Very disappointing, but I guess it's better than nothing. True, I guess that's possible, but I wouldn't expect more than one more wave of CW sets since they will soon have to focus on making sets based on Rebels. Wouldn't that be exactly like Palpatine's Arrest, just with a lot less minifigs? Or are you referring to their duel inside the Senate room? In that case, I don't see how that would be anything like the Arrest set since it would just be a bunch of those flying saucer things. I'm hoping for a new movie-style Luminara, but this isn't the place to discuss wishlists.
  20. I'm pretty sure Lego isn't making CW sets anymore now that the show has been cancelled. Like Fenson said, this is based on the Battle of Kashyyyk from Episode III.
  21. It's been a bit quiet in here lately, so here are some movie recreations with the CMFs. First, an awesome new movie: Pacific Rim by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Then, a not-so awesome older movie: Cowboys & Aliens by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr And finally, a little pun: Honey Bee by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr
  22. Thanks, everyone! And thank you, Doc, for the blog! But it's a Jedi consular, not counselor. I fixed that for you.
  23. Really? If memory serves me right, he was riding vehicles in BTAS all the time - cars, planes, blimps, trains, you name it.
  24. Awesome. FINALLY a Flash fig! A pretty good one too. I wasn't a fan of the big helmet he had in the videogame, but this one looks much better since it is more streamlined and only goes down to his nose like Catwoman's mask. Riddler looks a lot better with a green hat too. It's also funny that he is trying to make the heroes slip with a banana, but isn't that more Joker's shtick? Hopefully it's a stand-in for a new cane for him, but the set looks quite final. The Batmobile seems to be based on the new TV show Beware the Batman - I wonder if Batman will be too? I figured they'd make sets based on that series, but I never thought it would come with Flash and Riddler. Go figure. Now I'm crossing my fingers for Green Lantern or some of the other Leaguers to be thrown into sets as well! That would make up for the Con exclusive figs, at least the DC ones.
  25. Hi everyone! I'm back with two more entries for my Dark & Light Side series! First up we have Luminara. Special thanks to Lego Freak for the picture of the Jedi Consular!
