  1. Agreed. It's one of the many proofs that these pics are still prelim. So don't get too excited about these, people, it's just a high-res version of what we've already seen. About the rest of the venator: I really hope that the first pic we saw of this set was the most finalized amongst the prelim pics of it. It had an Open-Circle Fleet symbol and a Pilot instead of a normal clone. I mean, come on, we can get normal clones from the BP and the any of the other sets, so give us something we can usually not get so easily, TLG - a pilot! Besides, who is gonna fly the thing if there is no pilot? And yes, I am curious about the interior too. Btw, I'm loving Palpy's poncho thingy! Of course it's gunray! Who else? Lok Durd?? This fig has orange cloths and is in a set together with Onaconda Farr, so I think we can be pretty damn sure that it's Gunray. He still looks kinda weird to me, but if I can get this set for under 30$, I'll get it for the two exclusive figs. Do you guys think that that battery box with whip-cable will be included in the set? I don't see it on the prelim box art. Would be kinda neat IMHO. Pics of the Venator interior ON!
  2. I have known about this since Celebration IV. It looks alright. Kinda like a SW-themed Superbad. But it looks like one of those films where they show the best/funniest parts in the trailer already. And those didn't exactly make me LOL. But it's not bad either, so, being the SW geek I am, I'll go see this movie. My favorite part is still when they accidentally get into "enemy territory". The end is very predictable, though. I bet they reach their goal of seeing Episode 1 after going through all that trouble and end up saying "WTF! THIS is what we came all the way for?!" What I like most about this movie is the idea of it: A movie from SW geeks, for SW geeks, about SW geeks. It's a chance to laugh at ourselves. I really wish they make a (good) movie about AFOLs someday.
  3. Yup, I noticed it. Looks like Anakin likes to teach his apprentices the Shien form. More likely, this is a new trend amongst SW character designers: trying to find new ways for Jedis to hold their lightsaber. And seeing the popularity of TFU, they must have decided to give Ahsoka the same Lightsaber holding trait as Starkiller's. Thanks for pointing this out, but next time you should post such things in the proper thread. New question: Did you notice that the Lego Ahsoka is never shown holding her lightsaber this way?
  4. A little earlier: The door to Adam's quarters swooshed open and Oky entered the room. "Alright, what is it?" he asked. "I already told you," said Adam. "The holoprojector is doing something weird! There is blue light but no message or anything." Oky rolled his eyes at the lack of technical terms in Adam's description of the problem. Then, he turned toward the holoprojector. Oky wasn't a speciallist in holoprojectors, but he knew enough about that technology to know that this wasn't normal. He bent down to the projector, removed a plate on it, and started poking around its insides. After a while, he said: "Strange. Everything seems to be working fine. The problem must be that the signal we are receiving is very weak. Maybe there is something wrong with the holo-transmitter of the person who is trying to contact us. Hm... maybe if I just turn up the frequency and do some adjustments here... and here..." All of a sudden, an unstable image formed inside the spot of blue light. It was very hard to make out who it was, but it seemed to be a Jedi. Then, they could here a voice. It said: "... Hello?.... anybody... hear me?... This... Ren Luun... and... mander Jifel... under attack!... discovered... Dooku... searching for something... Need... backup..." Then, the connection broke up. The two took a deep breath. "Woah!" said Adam. "That was the guy we are looking for! And he's trouble!" "Yeah, but more importantly, he seems to know something about Count Dooku's latest plan," said Oky Wan. "I wonder what that scumbag is up to this time." "I think we'll find out soon enough," said Adam." C'mon, we gotta tell Jim!" Oky agreed, so they rushed out of the room and toward the bridge. When they got there, they both said: "Jim! Jim! We have to tell you something!" "Later," said Jim with a busy look on his face, "we're about to arrive at the Trexxon system." And sure enough, the blue hyperspace tunnel outside the window disappeared and the planet of Trexxon and its green moon took its place...
  5. I agree! Excellent use of pieces! In fact, all of the mini-sized entries in this raffle are great! Good job, guys! Keep 'em coming! Please?
  6. Actually, I don't know what it stands for myself. But I know what it means, which is what Jim said. I think it's something like "Off O??? Comment", but I have no clue what the second "O" stands for. If you're referring to my and Tim Bit's discussion about the future of his battalion, I'm sorry. I was just joking (mostly). But yeah, let's try to be a little more spontaneous this time around. Erm... Bob? Are you now with us or are you on your own ship? I thought it would be nice if you were with us from now on, which is why I included you in my first post. I mean, you'll have to rejoin with us at some point anyway, and apparently you're not doing anything at the moment, so wouldn't that make more sense? OK, but hurry up! It's actually almost too late to join, but since we just started playing, it's alright if you join right now.
  7. I'm pretty sure she isn't in that set. She wasn't in that scene in the movie at all, and all the sets from that exhibition seem to be put together somewhat incorrectly, so it's much more likely that she comes with the Venice set. Which is good 'cause that one looks cheaper. I probably wont get any of these, except for the Bazaar Fight which looks like a must-buy. However, if Elsa and the guy with the Fez are really both in the Venice set along with those sweet boats, I might give that one a second thought.
  8. Congratulations, Pr0! You have broken two rules in your first post of this season already! You may only control one main character! No OOC in the game thread! That's exactly what I had in mind too. I'm sorry, Tim Bit, but posting something like that is kind of unfair. With this, you force JD to talk about his secret, even though he expressed the wish not to tell us about it (yet) in his previous post. Also, ending a post this way prevents other players from posting after your post since it has to be JD who needs to finish the sentence. Since JD responded to your post, it's OK for now, but please try to keep that in mind for the future. Thanks. Also, again: NO FREAKIN' O.O.C. IN THE GAME THREAD! Not even comments on pics! All of that goes IN HERE. Thank you.
  9. Here are my thoughts: The Snail Tank clone doesn't have a jetpack! Gunray looks weird. The Rodian looks good, and if it's true that they replaced one of the droids with a clone, that would be great (even though random). The Hoth goggles (when flipped down) look weird. However, when flipped up, they look very accurate! The Tauntaun and the rest of the Hoth set look great! Definite must-buy! Although I agree that the turret in 7666 looked much better and had more playability, this way it's cheaper and a better BP while you still get a turret with it. Too bad, though, that the horns of the Tauntaun don't seem to be very reusable due to their one-sidedness. Oh well. I don't care much for the Endor set, but that AT-ST seems to be the best one yet, and the rest of the set looks pretty good. More pics (especially of the Snail Tank & Venator sets) ON!
  10. Perhaps your right. Maybe I shouldn't bother making pics for something like that either. Nice to have you with us! I was thinking of introducing you and Jiblue this way too, but I thought it's better if you do it yourselves. Why do you want us to make decisions for you? Didn't you read the rules? Everyone starts out separate, but has to join the team at some point. The sooner, the better.
  11. I watched "Defenders of Peace" last night. It was alright, with some nice things going on in it, but nothing special IMHO. For example, it was cool to watch the Jedi slice and dice wave after wave of droids down. However, there were some bad things too. For example, it was kinda weird how Takei voiced Fat Turd Lok Durd. Somehow I expected something else. Also, the fact that Venators appeared in the atmosphere at the end suggests that the Republic won the Battle of Quell, so that's two wins for the Republic in one episode and none for the Separatists! Well, turns out that sneak peek was from the upcoming episode "Trespass". I'm not a big fan of ice planets, but this episode looks good for some reason, and I'm looking forward to it! Although I'd love to see some Galactic Marines too, I am quite fine with the new kind of (Clone) Snowtrooper.
  12. The wait is over! I have made the first post! I'll add some pics later. Thanks. Sorry it's late. I was gonna edit the pics into the post as soon as I had time, but that wasn't possible since Hinckley closed the topic so early. PS: Everyone, feel free to copy my new banner into your sigs!
  13. Since their last adventure, our heroes have formed an official squad and successfully fought several battles for the Republic. They use a symbol that JD showed them (which represents hope in the time that he comes from) to represent themselves and even have their own ship called Fortitude. Their latest missions were small ones and nothing too challenging for them, but they are about to embark on their greatest adventure yet... It was a peaceful morning on board the Fortitude. The group had just returned to Coruscant from a mission the day before and was now relaxing in the briefing room of their HQ ship. Oky Wan Kenobi was making some repairs and upgrades on 8P-4C while Thok and JD were polishing their guns. In a corner of the room, Jim was having a conversation with Wouwie and Bob, and at the other end of the room, Adam and Pr0 were having a friendly lightsaber duel (again). Suddenly, the door opened and Commander Rex entered the room. "Sirs," he said, "there's an incoming transmission from the Senate. It says it's important!" "Put it on the holoprjector" said Jim. Rex pushed a button and the holographic image of Jedi master Mace Windu appeared over the table in the middle of the room. "General Windu! What can we do for you?" greeted him Jim. "I have a very important mission for you and your team, Commander Butcher" explained the Jedi master. "Several hours ago, we lost contact to one of our Jedi knights. His name is Ren Luun and the last we heard of him is that he was inspecting some "highly suspicious Separatist activity" on the moon of Trexxon. We don't know anything else. It is your mission to locate Luun and return him to Coruscant safely. He may have some very important information about the Separatists!" "Understood, general." said Jim. Windu asked: "Is your team ready to depart immediately?" "Most of us are, general Windu," Jim replied, "but we'll need to make contact with Garviel Loken; he's still stationed on Gryphon IV. Afterwards, we'll leave and meet him on Trexxon." "Very well" said Windu. "May the force be with you." And with that, the hologram disappeared. "You heard him, guys! We have to leave ASAP! Get ready and let's go! Trexxon is a jungle planet, so dress accordingly. I'll give Garviel the message." And so, they all scurried off to make preparations.
  14. Seriously, though, no more posts in this thread! Please. Or else!
  15. In memory of the awesome first season and in celebration of the start of the second season, here is the Season 1 finale with pics! Enjoy: Rex pressed the detonator... but nothing happen. "What's going on?" asked Garviel. "I don't know, Sir, the detonator seems fine, but it's not working!" replied Rex confused. "Dammit!" cursed Garviel, "What do we do now?" "Hey guys," said a familiar voice behind them. They turned around and saw Adam, Pr0, Thok, and the present JD standing there. "YOU?? But... how?" stuttered Jim surprised. "Long story," said Pr0. "Looks like you guys could use some help." "You got that right!" confirmed Wouwie, relieved to have some back up. "Then let's show those Clankers what we're made of!" said JD, took out the chaingun that was given to him by his future self earlier, and started firing away at the droids. As they fired, they retreated backwards, until they got to the exit. But the door was locked. "It's too many of 'em!" exclaimed Rex. "Where is MacK with his grenades when you need him!" said Oky Wan. "Wait a minute," said Thok, "I may not have explosive grenades, but I do have EMP grenades!" "Droid poppers? Excellent!" said Jim. "Then what are you waiting for - Use them!" "right," said Thok, pulled the EMPs out of his belt, and threw them in the middle of the droids. After a few seconds, they went off, disabling the entire droid army. The group jumped up and made triumphant sounds. "Alright, now let's get out of here!" said Jim. "We can call in the armada and have them bomb this place into the ground." "NO, WAIT!" called JD. "Will and my future self are still in there! We need to save them!" And with those words, he ran off back to the room with the time machine. "JD, wait!" Jim called after him, but he was already gone. "Don't just stand there, after him! He needs our support!" Jim told the others, and so they followed JD. When they entered the time machine room, they were shocked by what they saw. Will and future JD lay on the ground, dead, and 8P-4C had been sliced into many parts. In the center of the room stood General Grievous, holding present JD up by his throat. The general laughed: "Isn't that touching! The noble heroes return to save their friends. Haha! Too bad they are already dead... Just like the rest of you is going to be!" And with that, he impaled JD with one of his lightsabers and threw his corpse aside. "NOOOOOOOOOOO! You monster!" cried Jim and charged at Grievous with flaming rage. Adam and Pr0, the only others with a lightsaber, followed him. Grievous split his arms and ignited all of his lightsabers. The others started to shoot at Grievous, but they were soon attacked by the mutants that the droid general had released earlier. Therefore, they were forced to concentrate their fire on them rather than Grievous. The mutants were pretty advanced, so they were much faster and much better armored than any before them. Meanwhile, the lightsaber wielders were having a fierce duel with the droid general. They fought well, but in the end they were no match for the general's speed and agility. First, Pr0 got cut in the side and fell to the ground. Then, a few minutes later, Adam lost his lightsaber-holding arm and one of his legs. In the end, there was only Jim left. He fought as hard as he could, but with no one to distract Grievous, the general was able to block every attack from him. Jim kept fighting nevertheless. However, at one point, Grievous caught him off-guard and sliced off his lightsaber-holding hand. Jim dropped on his knees, screaming in pain. Grievous lowered down to him and said: "Foolish Republic scum! Did you really think you could defeat me! I have taken on much more powerful Jedi than you! And did you really think I wouldn't notice that you set up charges in this room? Once you fled into the corridor, I defused them. Now, there is nothing that can stop me! Friends or not, you must realize: you are doomed!" Jim stared him in his yellow eyes and said: "You may have won this time, general, but the Republic will never be defeated! They will find you and destroy you!" Grievous squinted his eyes and said: "I don't think so." And he stabbed Jim into his chest. Oky Wan watched in horror as his best friend Jim fell to the ground. "Jim! NOOOOOO!" He gave the last mutant the finishing shot and started firing at Grievous. The others followed his example. Grievous dashed forward at them and started slicing and dicing the last few clones. Next, he swung towards Oky's direction, but thanks to his force-precognition powers, Oky was able to jump away before Grievous could hurt him too much. However, he wasn't fast enough, so he got a pretty deep cut into his stomach. Oky fell to the cold floor, crumbling in pain. It hurt so much that he could get back up, and so he was forced to watch the droid general kill the rest of his friends. One minute later, the massacre was over. Grievous straightened up, put away his lightsabers, and joined his arms. Then, he left the room, coughing. There was silence. Deep, painful silence. Oky pulled out a shot of bacta and injected it into his wound. After the pain had decreased, he sat up straight. He looked around the room and saw all of his friends' corpses littering the floor. Tears filled his eyes. He could not believe this had happened. He dearly wished there was a way to reverse all of this. Of course, he was sitting in a room with a time machine, but without crystals to fuel it, there was no hope in getting it to work... If only he had one of those crystals... one of those crystals from the Utapau mines... Just one... That's when Oky remembered. He did have one of those crystals! He had taken one with him when they had walked through the mines! Feverishly, he reached into his pocket, and when he pulled it out, he was holding the greenish crystal in his hand! Happiness flooded his heart. It would not take him far back in time, but far enough. He got on his feet and started walking toward the time machine. In his head, he was constructing a plan. He collected an EMP grenade from Thok's belt on his way to the machine. He stepped up to the device, put the crystal into the fuel container, and set the coordinates. Then, he pulled the lever that Grievous had pulled just a few moments ago, and a new portal appeared in the center of the machine. Without wasting any of the single crystal's energy, He stepped into the portal... When he came out the other end, Oky Wan experienced a deja vu. In front of him, there was Grievous, fighting Jim, Adam, and Pr0, while the others were defending themselves against the droid army that entered the room. Adam, Thok, and Pr0 were amongst them, so they had apparently not followed JD into the portal yet, meaning that there were still energy crystals left. Nobody seemed to have noticed yet that Oky had come out of the machine. Now is my chance, Oky Wan thought, and yelled: "Hey Grievous! I have a surprise for you!" Grievous turned around and looked confused. Oky threw Thok's EMP right in front of the droid general's feet. As it went off, Grievous fell to the floor, unable to move. Jim and the others were happy to see that, but they were too confused to show it. Of course, Oky's past self was the most confused. "No time for explanations!" Oky told them. "Rex, I need your charges!" "Errr... Yes, Sir..." said Rex, still irritated, and handed Oky the charges. Oky Wan punched some coordinates into the time machine and walked up to the portal that appeared. "Oky... What are you doing?" asked Jim. Oky answered: "I'm making sure that this hellish device is never created!" With those words, he threw the pack of explosives into the portal, and as it disappeared, he hit the detonator. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Okay/Sta...040404small.jpg There was a massive explosion of bright light, and suddenly, it felt like they were all sucked into a different world. The next thing they knew was that they woke up in the place where their whole adventure started: The deserted industrial section of Coruscant. They were all there, but now there was only one Oky Wan and only one JD again. Oky looked at the time. It was mere hours before the time where he met Annix, Jim, and Thok for the first time. Jim came to his senses and said: "Oky... What did you do?" "I sent the charges back to the time and place where the time machine was first developed: the research facility on Hoth, at the time where Adam told us that there was a cosmic disturbance! I blew up the machine, and maybe even the facility, so the separatists never developed a time machine and we never went on a quest to destroy it! Everything has been reset - only this time there wont be any time machine." "But at this time, only you, me, and Thok were on Coruscant. Why are all the others here? And why do we remember what happened?" "I think it's because we were there when everything was reset. I bet MacK, Annix, Xela, and all the others who died during our mission are alive now, but they don't remember what happened because they were not with us anymore when we reset time." "Hm, that's a pity," said Jim, "but it's good to know they are OK." They all got up and complimented what Oky had done, and in return, he complimented and thanked everyone for their help in making this mission a success. When nobody had anything to say annymore, Wouwie said: "So... What do we do now?" Hope you liked it. I made the time machine so StarGate-ish because that's just what I think of when I imagine a sci-fi portal thingy. I still tried to stay true to the desciption of the machine that Adam once made, though. He said that it looked somewhat ugly, with a lot of greebles all over it. That's how I made it. You heard the man! If you want to comment on my MOC above, please do so in the SWCG discussion thread. Topic (semi) closed.
  16. Why don't you click the link to find out. Well, not that we know of, but it's definitely possible. There probably aren't any waterbenders specializing in ice since they don't seem to have any problems with bending it, unlike the earthbenders who do have problems bending sand. Smog would probably be more challenging for them since it's so shifty in comparison to water and ice, like sand is to earth/rock. I don't think firebenders can bend grease, though, since it's liquid. Maybe, but only a highly skilled one like Toph. It's the same thing as metalbending: the problem lies in locating the iron particles in the blood. But I think we're getting a bit off topic here. Let's take these discussions to the Avatar thread.
  17. Hello there! I know that not many of you make Lego mosaics, but I was wondering what those of you who do make them use to generate the pic. Until I had to reinstall everything on my computer, I had a link to the old website where TLC provided a generator for Lego mosaic instructions. That's what I used to make my Lego mosaics, but now I don't have it anymore. So, here are my questions: Does anyone still have that link? What other software can I use to make similar instructions for Lego mosaics? Any other suggestions? Also, I'm working on a little presentation on mosaics for my art history class right now, so if you have any other interesting information on mosaics and how they are created and famous artists who make them, or perhaps pictures, please post them as well! Thanks.
  18. Yes, I think when characters from Season 1 appear in this one, they should just instantly remember everything once they meet us. Let's not make this anything too complicated or weird (unless you want it to be so).
  19. Are you gonna be wearing the same helmet too? I don't think I have it in black. Would brown be OK? If not, what do you suggest as a replacement? Of course not. As I said, I was just curious if there is a reason for it to be this way. Hooray! Cue the Ewok celebration song! As Jim said, the new season will begin shortly!
  20. Oky

    Just eat it!

Awesome! Love the song, love your vig! It's hilarious! The heads used are perfect! Nice decals too. Seriously, this is the funniest vig I've seen in a long time! Good job! Weird Al Yankovic & MOCs inspired by his songs ON!
  21. Alright, I removed it. I have a good anti-virus software, so I don't have any problems with it. Sorry about that. So, what do you think of my MOC?
  22. What episode is he from? I don't remember anyone like him. Anyway, here is my entry: The Sand Sailer! This is the catamaran that the Sandbenders use to get around in the Si Wong Desert. I used this and this screenshot as reference. It's simple and inaccurate, but - hey - this isn't a contest. I really hope to see some more great Avatar MOCs before this thread closes! And I don't mean random vignettes with random figs with fire in their hands. Btw, to all those who haven't seen the show, I can highly recommend it to anyone who likes SciFi/Fantasy action adventures!
  23. Not too bad at all! The legs could use some work, though, as mentioned above, and I still prefer the official one. But for those who don't have it, this is a very good replacement! Good job! Is that Qui-Gon time traveling or something?
  24. Finally another IA! Not the best one, I must say, though. Although the gate is really, really nice, it's simply that: just a gate. The new swarm monsters are very cool, though, especially the Not-so-tiny-crab. Looking at all that Swarm behind the gate, I wouldn't go though there with anything less than a tank! So, I voted to go around it. I also voted to take Brotherhood members with me. We aren't really in a hurry, and the path to the treasure will be dangerous either way, I'm sure. I just hope that them leaving their post at the gate wont result in the Swarm creatures breaking out and attacking the rest of the Brotherhood while we are gone... I shall attempt it! EDIT: Oh darn! SCG beat me to it! Oh well.
  25. Hm... Kinda looks like a steampunk version of a SBD. Neat posableness, though. "HEIL PALPATINE!!!"
