  1. Interesting... But isn't the rabbit supposed to be 3 1/2 inches tall? Perhaps you should have put it next to one of your Belville figs, then it would have looked more accurate.
  2. Erm, could we extend this part of the contest for a day or so? I'm almost done with my entry and I put a lot of effort into it, but I'll need just a little more time. Pretty please? C'mon, it's Christmas, and you can't deny a Christmas wish!
  3. Nice to hear (or read) from you again, MacK! Nice collection of military goodies you got there! The AMMP is the best indeed! You'll have to be extra nice (or is that naughty?) to get this one for Christmas! I like the "Hellfire" missile technique. The turret is neat too. The ATV is kinda average, but still nicely designed with the SNOT and all. Keep it up! PS: Taking the pics in actual snow was a nice idea! I wish I could do that...
  4. The kid living in that house has apparently been naughty... But this vig is definitely nice!
  5. Aw maaan! I didn't win anything and now it's over! I never win any raffle. Christmas is ruined!! OK, maybe I'm overreacting a little here. But seeing all the great prizes that have been given away saddens me. Oh well, I hope I'll have better luck next time. Merry Christmas to all EBers! (except for the ones lucky enough to win something in this raffle. Nah, JK. )
  6. I'm not sure what to expect from this show. The fact that it is made for a mature audience and will have a dark tone sounds promising, but it is said that there wont be many main characters in the show, so I'm pretty skeptic, because this means that we wont see much of Boba Fett or Vader. And without Vader, you can't really have a Jedi Purge. So it seems it will be mostly EU. I'm not a big fan of the EU because it tends to go too far from what my definition of SW is. But TFU was practically EU as well, and I liked the story of TFU, so if they can pull off a show with episodes that are similar to the style of TFU, I'd be happy, but without main characters, it will be hard for them to do so. We'll just have to wait and see. I would like this show to have good sound design and special effects. It's one of the things that defined SW in the first place and one of the things that I most enjoy about watching SW. What I also expect of this show is to be suitable for a Lego License and to feature many cool vehicle for TLC to release!
  7. We heard you the first time, darkrebelion. Yes, it would really be interesting to see what those stories were all about! Well, battles like that mean a lot of work for the animators, so we might never see such a large battle again. However, they did go through all the trouble of creating characters like Nadahr Vebb just to kill them off in the first episode of their appearance. So, who knows. Either way, I too would love to see a battle like that again. It's the freakin Clone Wars for crying out loud! There should be tons of battles like that! True. I like Boba Fett too, but except for an episode or two showing how he starts to become a bounty hunter like his Dad, there isn't much they can do with him.
  8. Seconded. I think I started playing (and MOCing) with Lego (or Duplo in that case) even earlier than that! After all, "MOC" refers to any Lego creation that was built using your own creativity instead of instructions. So, yeah, I couldn't possibly remember what my fist one was. However, I might be able to find the first picture that was taken of one of my MOCs...
  9. Once, I built a tiny turbo in a bag on the drive back home from the Legoland where I bought the set after seeing that technique on Brickshelf. It was fun, a real challenge, and it was the least messy way of building the set, which is good when you sit in a car. I only did this once because I was bored in the car, and never did it again. I have a lot of patience, but that bag-building is a little too frustrating sometimes, even for me. Tiny Turbos are best suited for this since they are all one piece in the end, unlike impulse sets which consist of minifigs and accessories and such in addition to the main build. In conclusion: Bag-Building is a cool and challenging thing to do, but I don't think I'll be doing it very often. Thanks for reviving this interesting thread!
  10. Are you kidding? That trike (or three-wheeler as you call it) is awesome! Even that boat is cool! I especially like the freeze-ray gun on it! The only bad thing about it is that because you used slopes with the Lego Arctic logo on them, it looks even more like a Lego Arctic MOC than the Lab. But the freeze turret and design make up for that. And that WMF is even more awesome than the trike and boat combined! It's so creative! When I first saw that mixer piece in the City set it is from, I was wondering what else it could be used for, but except for a big, blue spaceship engine, I couldn't think of anything. You, Sir, have found the perfect use for it! Your Freeze MOCs are getting better and better! Keep up the good work! On a side note: I think it's great that you let your kid play with your Lego and even build playsets for him!
  11. Yes, I agree, an episode in the style of Star Wars: Clone Wars Chapter 3 and Chapter 21 would be awesome! Ooh! Good idea! Yes, we could really use some more space battles! Why, I agree with you too, Jim, especially with that first thing. As mentioned in the discussion thread of the show, Anakin is just too goody-goody in this show and every episode with him in it was kinda lame, except "Duel of the Droids". And although Ahsoka is kinda cute, I don't care about seeing her in a future episode, unless she dies or does something interesting like defeat Ventress on her own in a lightsaber fight or something. However, I don't want to see any more Padme. She can be kinda cool when she kicks butt, but I hate watching her being together with Anakin. All that sissy romance junk - bah! This is the Clone Wars for pete's sake! There's no place for such nonsense!
  12. I thought that you might say that. Well, seeing as this review lacks some details, I might do one after all. (No offense, ReZourceman) The only other new set I got is the assassin droid BP. I'll be sure to make a review for that as well, even though it's already opened.
  13. Well, seeing as the competition is so little, I might give this a shot. I'll need to finish my snow box derby side lines entry first, though.
  14. Damn. I was just about to post a review of this BP. Oh well. Maybe I can still be the first to review the other BP. This is a very nice BP. The exclusive gunner is cool, and it's interesting to get the clone gear in black. I only wish that there was just one more blaster included so that you would have the option of turning the commander/captain into an infantry clone. You can still make a normal clone out of him, but unless you give him the blaster of the gunner, you can only use him to drive the walker or man one of your other Republic vehicles. The walker itself isn't too bad either, but it still looks a bit strange. Nice to get bley cheese slopes! Is it just me, or do the flick-fire missiles in these new BPs hold much tighter inside the technic holes than previous ones? They don't look any different. I am not sure if this is a good thing or not. On one hand, they hold better in place and don't fall out, but on the other, it's really hard to flick them now. Oh well, who cares for flick-fire missiles anyway. I have two of this set and plan on buying many more in the future!
  15. Now that there wont be any new episodes until January (at least for us Americans), it's a good time to gather some ideas of what we would like to see happen in future episodes of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars". So post away! I'll start by listing my wishes. I would like to see... Mace Windu getting into some action! Grievous getting into more intense lightsaber fights like in "Lair of Grievous" and killing more Jedi like he is supposed to! :skull: An episode with only Obi Wan and Cody as the protagonists! More episodes about clones, like "Rookies"! More bounty hunters! I'm not sure what I'm expecting here, but bounty hunters are always cool, so it's a good idea either way! More revelations and character development. I know that director Filoni has expressed little interest in such things, but I would still like to see it since it's what makes a show good, This involves seeing a little more of Anakin's dark side. The introduction of another new "big baddie" like Durge! Less Jar Jar! It's not that I don't like him; it's just that there is too much potential in this show for the makers to waste time on Jar Jar stories. So, what do you wish for?
  16. Actually, I saw the fighter tank in my local Target just this week. I don't think they had it in the Lego Store, though.
  17. This was a tough decision for me. All the figs this year were just so wonderful that I could barely pick out the best one. In the end, I had to go for Clone Wars Obi Wan though. I just love how he looks in that half-clone-armor-half-jedi-robe outfit (hence my avatar )! I hope we will continue to get such great figs next year (and maybe even better ones, considering it's the anniversary ) beginning with Dooku and Chancellor Parpatine! PS: I hate it when people can't be serious in these polls. Two votes for Rotta?! Come on!
  18. Nice review. But you could have showed the mech from more angles and in more poses. Cool set. I have it too and am disappointed about the crystal as well. Although I love lime green and trans-lime pieces, I have enough trans-lime crystals from my Insectoids sets, so I'm pissed that they included one of them instead of the trans-green one advertised. I'm sure it's a mistake since the crystal on the box art and in the instructions looks definitely green, especially when compared with the rock monster. Do you think we can get a green one from S@H as a replacement?
  19. Seconded. And it's too big! I like the old ones much better, no matter nice and shiny the brown parts of the new ones are.
  20. So, what do you guys think about the new magnet set? Do you think they are glued to the plate behind their legs or not?
  21. Nice little, erm, spiky barrel, KimT. However, I must say that I am disappointed by your entry. I had hoped for something like an X-Wing-shaped snow box to represent your role as SW moderator. That would have been cool. But I guess it's more creative this way.
  22. Yes, they are normal minifgs, except that the hip is glued to the torso. As far as I know, the only exception is Boba Fett, who has a magnet glued between his jetpack and torso, and can therefore not take his helmet off. But who would want to take a Boba Fett apart anyway.
  23. Yeah, but there is nothing we can do about it, so I guess we gotta start buying reading glasses. Besides, if you keep posting in blue, we won't have any problems differentiating you from the other "Darth_Lego"s. Meh. My version was better/smarter. And don't you have anything else to say to welcome our new member?
  24. Yeah, and what they said about limbs getting cut off in lightsaber duels all the time! It's funny 'cause it's true.
  25. Well, he is a count after all, so maybe Lucas had Dracula in mind when he created this character anyway.
