Did anyone notice in this pic that there is an alternate nose art sticker for the LAAT Dropship that looks almost just like this ^ ? Strange. Perhaps the Lego designers (or the makers of the CW show if it's based on a real nose art) saw your custom nose art, Rayman, and used it for the set. If that's the case, you should sue them.

Haha, that's even more awesome! Thanks for the translation! I love it when TLG puts little jokes like this into their sets that mostly only AFOLs will understand!
-
I said "most"! Sheesh! Please, pay attention, people! I agree, Mario and Sonic are some possibilities. That's what I meant by "most": There are exceptions like that. Still, I don't see it happening very soon.

Hey, those are pretty good! I believe the official Woody will look just like that, except that he'll have a different face and maybe some hip prints (belt). I think Buzz's chest armor and jetpack will be one new mold, though, and maybe there will be a trans-clear half dome you can put on it (the upper half of Sandy Cheeks' space helmet?). Also, he will probably have lime green hips and purple hands (to mix up the color scheme a bit). Would be awesome if you could stick some plates to his jetpack to imitate the wings! As I mentioned some time ago in a different thread, I wonder what the sets of a Toy Story theme will be like since everything is supersized in relation to the characters. I bet that's the case, though, since this theme is based on a cartoon, just like The Clone Wars or Avatar. And to me, that's a good thing. Seconded! There is sooo much potential!

Hehe, that's pretty good. The front is a little wide, though, and it's too bad you can't close the cockpit around the drivers feet. But I'm sure that if TLC decides to release a set of this, it would be similarly designed.
-
If would have payed attention, you would know that the Prince of Persia theme will be based on the upcoming movie, not the game! The only Lego set that we know to be based on a videogame is the Rogue Shadow, and the TFU theme was only a mini-subtheme to the SW theme. So, right now, there is no sign for me that TLC is going to release sets with videogame licenses. Most videogames these days are too violent for TLC anyway. MegaBloks, on the other hand, is very likely to get every game license that they can get their greedy little hands on.
-
That's awesome! A tribute to Classic Space by TLC themselves! Apparently, there is a museum in the Space Police universe about classic space exploration, and Spike robbed it.

I may be skeptical about a Lego System WALL-E theme, but I'm sure there are many awesome things to be done with WALL-E. For example, how about a UCS WALL-E like the MOC below: Or seeing him stand next to the NXT bot, I get another idea: A Mindstorms/Technic incarnation of WALL-E! That would be really awesome!
-
I'm not too crazy about a WALL-E theme. I mean, anyone can build a WALL-E fig with some binoculars and a few other pieces, and there wasn't much scenery in that movie. The only sets I could imagine are WALL-E's "house", EVA's probe shuttle, and maybe an ISD-scale AXIOM. Don't get me wrong; it's a fantastic movie and I would love to see it being made into a theme, but I just don't think it would end up as a very good Lego theme. I would much, much rather see an Incredibles theme! That would be simply... well, incredible! Serously, that one has a lot of potential! Syndrome fig with Dr. Inferno hair anyone? God forbid! The thought of the possibility makes me shudder all over. That's not even funny. Well, maybe a little. No, it's only of the movie. And keep in mind that movies tend to differ quite a bit from what they are based on. Only if Disney produces a Zelda movie. Not so sure about the Star Tours thing, but I can imagine there to be a Disneyland subtheme. Besides, what would a Star Tours set include? That boring, blocky shuttle with Artoo & Threepio? I wouldn't buy that.

Pics? You mean there are more than one? Where?

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Oky replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hm... The Crystal King was starting to grow on me with all his neon-green goodness, but these pics from ToyFair kinda ruined it for me. He looks weird in those pics. It looks like he lost all of his teeth and had them replaced by crystals. Oh well, if I see this set for a good price, I'll still pick it up probably. The other Rock monster bosses look pretty good though. Kinda like updates to the Rock Raiders monsters. Overall, I'm not liking this new wave. I have a feeling that this theme will die quickly. -
No. Freakin. Way! That's wonderful!!! I am a huge PIXAR fan, and a Disney license has always been my dream Lego license! Toy Story is one of my favorite movies, and I can't believe we are getting Lego System sets of it! Buzz Lightyear minifig! Wow! I can't wait! Cars doesn't interest me all that much (it's my least favorite PIXAR film) but those will apparently be Duplo only anyway. However, I wouldn't say no to a UCS Lightning McQueen. We'll see. PoP sounds intriguing! I have only tested the game once, but it seemed to be a good game, so I am expecting the movie and the sets to be (at least almost) equally good. Oh boy, I'm so excited and geeked out right now! The good news just keep coming today. I hope there will be lame SW sets in 2010, 'cause I will have to get all of these Disney PIXAR sets! Dreams really do come true!

You know what really kinda bugged me about the Virus episode? All the Jedi were jumping around trying to catch the test tubes (or whatever) that the doctor was dropping while he almost got away, but none of them thought about force-catching them in mid-air! If Mace Windu would have been there, things would have gone much differently... Damn. Oh well, good thing those wiki-sites aren't reliable when it comes to future releases of things. It's one of the mysteries of the universe that we will probably never understand. Yeah, seriously! I don't understand why they're taking their sweet time with that! I mean, c'mon, Lucas, that's an automatic win right there! Big money! You like money, don't you? Yeah, Rex rulez!

Oh... My... GOD! That looks AWESOME! It's... it's beautiful! All those clones... those Pilots... that Wampa nose art... I must have it! But it's $250! Oh well. Some kind of Sale will come around eventually. I'm also very happy about the jetpacks in the Tank Droid set! They look like a fine new mold. Let's just hope that we will get two of them with this set, like the box art promises. The interior of the Venator turns out to be satisfying for me as well. I like how you can practically take the back apart, and I'm loving that mini turbolaser cannon. Palpy's CW face looks pretty scary. Even scarier than in the show. But it's pretty accurate. I like it. And that Death Star hologram in his hand is a nice touch. I am also quite glad that they went with a new mold for the Senate Guards. Normal, blue clone helmets just wouldn't be right. All these sets look amazing (even the Y-Wing is growing on me), and (eventually) I will get them all, except Endor and Home One which are not worth the money for me as a PT fan. And I won't get the Sep Shuttle either if I can get Gunray and Farr from a magnet set or something. 2009 ON!

Good question. It's just a rerun of the first episode of the show, "Ambush".

On board the Fortitute: Rex: "It's Loken, Sir, he wants to land in the hangar." Pr0: "Let him." Rex: "Yes, Sir!" He pressed the button to open the hangar bay doors. A few minutes later, Garviel came running into the room. He said: Guys, we have to go to Sector 12! I just came from there; there is a secret underground lab. Adam is still there! We have to go and save him!" Thok: "Alright, let's do it! What do you say, Jim?" Everyone looked around. "Er... Where is Jim? And where is Oky? Weren't they right behind us?" Bob: "Oh no! We have to go back for them!" Wouwie turned on his comlink and said: "Oky, Jim, can you hear me? Where the hell are you?" Back inside the bunker of Sector 15: Oky: "We hear you, Wouwie. We stayed at the CIS base. We have to find out what Dooku is up to! We have been through too much already to just leave this place!" Wouwie: "Alright. We'll get Adam and come back for you guys." Jim: "Roger that!" And so, the two snuck back to where they left Count Dooku...

The "Virus" episodes were alright. I liked the second one much better than the first one somehow. The BDs with the smiles drawn onto their faces were funny. Seconded! I hope we see some Naboo Fighter action at some point! That, I disagree with. I thought he sounded much more like Jar Jar in "The Gungan General". What? Are you sure? We in the US wont get that episode for two weeks, and we are usually first in line for new episodes. And didn't Captain_Rex say that you in the UK will get "Mystery of a Thousand Moons" next week?
-
That's what you get for not paying attention! Besides, look who's talking! Wasn't it you who just left Adam behind in the lab? Also, I don't think the Fortitude has a hangar. It's barely twice as big as a JSF. Oh well.
-
True, but if you're only a low-budget collector (like me) and can't afford the UCS one, you'll be happy to have a detailed, little MF to display instead of none. Besides, this Falcon takes much less space to display than the UCS one. Perfect for any office desk, you know.
-
My thoughts: Mid-scale MF: Honestly, I don't understand you guys at all. This is a MID-SCALE model, so what the heck did you expect! If you ask me, for what it is, this is a really fine looking model of the MF, and I think it's nice that we get a MF that is bigger than a Mini (and therefore detailed), but small enough to be easy to swoosh. Kids will love it because of its swooshability, and collectors will have something nice to display. It doesn't have minifigs - So what? I mean, is that all that matters to you guys? I think it's good that we get a set for once that is not overly overpriced due to its figs and concentrates on good build design and part selection rather than production costs and minifig design. However, I must agree that this set doesn't look cheap either with its fancy anniversary box art. In conclusion, I like this set for what it is, and if I see it for a good price, I'll pick it up. Pirate Tank: This set on the other hand is a disappointment to me. This tank looked very cool in the series and I was looking forward to this set, but this is somehow not what I had in mind. The front is quite well designed, and the color scheme is kinda nice too, but it's the back I don't like. Those engines looked very cool on the tank in the show, but these just look like a bunch of plates with car hoods on them. And, of course, I am surprised about the choice of Obi Wan instead of Jar Jar in this set, but I guess it's good that we get Obi in a cheaper set, and I have enough Jar Jars anyway. I can't say too much about the pirates at the moment since they don't look very Weequay-ish. So, I don't think I'll get this set. This not exactly shaping up to be the best year for me, but I guess my wallet can use a break.

There have. Many, actually. But most people say that she wont just dissappear, but get cruelly hunted down by the Empire. I like your idea, though, Pengi, even though it's a little unspectacular. I also like the idea of her surviving and joining Luke. Would be nice to see a vig with her fighting side-by-side with Skywalker against the remainder of the Empire IMO.
-
Well said, Hinck! I usually don't care much for such issues. I agree with some of the arguments here, but we all know very well that TLC has no intentions of teaching kids racism or anything; they are just trying to create factions that are easy to differentiate. I must admit, though, that that Jelly who is hooked up to the Crystal Reaper disturbed me quite a bit... Also, I don't think that any of the licensed themes quallify for an argument here. Lego is just copying what they see in the movies. If anything, it's the films that are racist. Actually, in addition to the ones Hinckley and ricecracker posted, all the Power Miners have a scared face. So there are actually more scared men than women.
-
Sigh. You just can't let it go can you? I'm not a racist or anything, and I really respect the animal kingdom, but I still believe that there is a big difference between human beings and animals, and my definition of person is the same as the one on wikipedia: I guess this is a question of what your philosophy is. You have yours, and I have mine. Let's leave it at that. But just for the record: You lose! Because initially you said that Ahsoka was "running around killing people", so even if that one Akul that she is supposed to have killed can be considered a person, it's still just one person, not people. Anyway, can we just drop this now please? I thought the thought of that was so ridiculous that it's funny. Sorry if you didn't like that joke, but I hope it's still OK if I make a vig of their marriage for the contest. That's not canon though, so there is still hope that he will be killed in some horrible way after Episode III! (Perhaps in the upcoming live-action TV series? ) PS: How about changing your sig, Rex?
-
Er, I think you misunderstood something, simon. As Adam has demonstrated in the first post where they appeared, the replicants are mechanical. They are robots, so I guess you could call them "Replicoids".
-
Hey wow, that looks pretty good! It looks like a small, one-man AT-PT. Makes more sense if you think about it. Much less chance that the driver get shot. Thanks for the instructions too!
