  1. True. Same could be said about the big tree house. Gives me Dino Island research base vibes with that zip line.
  2. I thought the first two episodes were alright at best. They were honestly kinda boring, especially since they solve the murder mystery right in the first episode with a cliched trope, and I felt more invested in the faceless Mandalorian in his first episode than I have with any of these characters so far. And then I watched the third episode… boy was that cringey, and not because of anything “woke”. From the child acting to the silly chant and the Jedi being creepy predators, this was an uncomfortable watch. And Mae trying to keep her sister from leaving by killing her made no sense to me. I don’t really feel any urge to keep watching at this point, but if y’all like it, cool. Also, “spice cream”?! Do the people making this show not know that spice is usually a drug in Star Wars? I was not impressed with Tales of the Empire either, or as it should’ve been called: The mildly interesting tales of two people who happened to be allied with the Empire at one point in their lives”. Barriss’ redemption felt a bit rushed. The best part was the portrayal of Grievous as the ruthless killer and general that he is meant to be.
  3. A long time ago in an alternate universe far, far away... Have you ever wondered what would have happened if Luke Skywalker had turned to the dark side? In this alternate timeline, Luke accepted Darth Vader's offer to join him after their fateful duel on Cloud City. At first he only did it to trick Vader and take down the Empire from the inside, but he eventually succumbed to the dark side and became Vader's Sith apprentice. Together, they killed the Emperor and ruled the galaxy as father and son, just as Vader said they would. Luke soon learned about Leia being his force-sensitive sister, so he corrupted her using his new dark side powers and trained her to be a Sith as well. Once Leia was strong enough, together they turned against their father, nearly killing him. They took over as the leaders of the Empire and ruled the galaxy as the sinister Sith Siblings. Han Solo was surprised by Luke and Leia's change, but he loved Leia too much to abandon her, so he stayed by their side, becoming one of the Empire's highest ranking officers. As if their combined strength wasn't enough, the Sith Siblings also managed to find and brainwash their father's old apprentice, Ahsoka Tano, turning her into a deadly inquisitor. The Reign of the Skywalkers had begun. Heartbroken by his children's betrayal and disgusted at what they have become, Vader left his Sith persona behind and became Anakin Skywalker once more. To symbolize this change, he removed his Darth Vader face mask and donned a light colored version of his suit. He also purified his lightsaber's kyber crystal, turning it white. He went into hiding and started a new rebellion to redeem himself by taking down the Empire. He was faced with the incredibly difficult challenge of fighting not only his own children, but also his old apprentice and friend. Luckily, he would not have to face them alone as he was joined in this fight by his grandson, Ben Solo. Similar to the main timeline, Ben ran away from home to "finish what his grandfather started", but in this case he was referring to bringing balance to the force. He became Anakin's new padawan and trained with his custom blue crossguard lightsaber to become a Jedi like his grandfather before him. One of the most valuable members of their rebellion was Admiral Thrawn. Thrawn had returned to the galaxy with no problems since Ahsoka wasn't there to interfere with his plans, but he found it in a very different state than when he left. He didn't agree with how Luke and Leia ran the Empire and he was still loyal to the man formerly known as Darth Vader, so he joined the rebels instead. His strategic genius earned many victories for the rebellion. Another unlikely member of Anakin's rebellion was Cad Bane. Similar to how Han Solo had joined the old Rebel Alliance, Bane was originally hired to help with one of the Rebels' missions and only did it for the credits, but he soon had a change of heart and joined them for good. In classic Western fashion, he traded in his dark cowboy outfit for a white one to reflect his new allegiance. He became one of their best fighters and rose to the rank of general. Will the Rebels succeed in ending the Skywalker Siblings' terrible reign? Will Anakin be able to redeem himself and bring balance to the force as prophesied? Whatever happens, one thing is for sure: It can only be better than what happened in the sequel trilogy.
  4. Neat idea for a MOC series and a good start. Spooky Pirates is definitely a theme I wish LEGO would explore more without the PotC license. One thing you could do is to expand the GWP island into a full pirate hideout like the big hideaways from the 90s. Next, the spooky pirates need a pirate ghost ship! I’d also like to see what an imperial fort or outpost that is overrun by these pirates would look like!
  5. This seems off topic, but the theme just celebrated its 5th anniversary and a new season with sets based on it is around the corner, so there is no sign of it stopping anytime soon. I don’t think they would’ve celebrated this milestone if they didn’t intend to keep it going.
  6. I guess Johnny’s hat is getting floppy in his old age. 😉 But I agree, the slouch hat was one of the things that made him unique and different from a certain other adventurer, but I guess they don’t want to bring the mold back just for these couple of cameos.
  7. Yeah, definitely disappointing. Too much focus on the vehicles which also look too bright and clean for being in the jungle. Not to mention that Johnny and Pippin (is that photographer supposed to be her? Looks nothing like her) look out of place next to such modern vehicles. Just goes to show that Adventurers deserves its own remake theme with a proper 1920’s setting. Gotta say, the dark brown pants do look good on Johnny though.
  8. Woohoo! I’ve been looking forward to the return of this contest! One question: For the Sabine’s Paint category, does it have to be a spaceship or can it also be a walker, landspeeder, space station, etc.?
  9. Thanks! The jaw doesn't move, but it does have a big laser cannon in it as you can see in this picture: https://flic.kr/p/2pDpQtk
  10. Welcome aboard the Red Beard Space Runner, Captain Redbeard's fearsome battle spaceship! This is a futuristic version of the classic Pirates set Red Beard Runner and features many of the key features of the ship: a red, white, and black color scheme with gray and white stripes, a large skull, rib-like white arches, a crane, two masts, a small escort ship, and three cannons on each side. Unlike the original set however, this one features a full interior, large extra cannon inside the skull's mouth, and harpoons to anchor the ship to an asteroid or enemy ship. You can see all of these details and more in the pictures on my Flickr.
  11. The Rapid Acceleration Flying Transport, or RAFT for short, is a small hover vehicle that is often used by Space Pirates. It features stabilization paddles, a flag, and a holder to store a flintlock blaster or laser cutlass. This renegade space pirate is using it to outrun a space shark, one of the vicious creatures with jetpacks and frickin laserbeams attached to them that infest the Caribbean Galaxy. For comparison, here is a picture of the original set, 6234: Renegade's Raft. I kept all the key features of the set: the color scheme, the functionality (a small vehicle), the paddles, the flag, the shark, and the minifig with two weapons. The Renegade seats comfortably in the sleek bike and his blaster clips onto the back. Let me know what you think in the comments, mateys.
  12. Looks great! My only criticism would be that it’s odd for Harry to carry a safe into the jungle. I think a wooden crate would be more appropriate and “Adventure-y” (unless you don’t want to use any molds that didn’t exist when the original set came out).
  13. If we make twins with minimal color differences like these, do they count as two minifigs or can we count them as one?
  14. Huzzah! A classic EB contest returns! If we include minifigs in categories B or C, can we also submit them for category A?
  15. Interesting analysis. However, I don't think all figs can really be put into one specific faction, and I think some of them don't even really count. Some thoughts: S1 Robot: There is nothing to suggest that he is affiliated with any faction, or that he is even in Space. In fact, it has been said that the Deep Sea Diver saw him walk across the sea floor once. While it doesn't specify if it was Earth's ocean, it stands to reason that he is an Earth robot. S8 Evil Robot: Based on his description, he seems to be an unaffiliated character who gets hired by various evil factions. And if the S1 Robot isn't a Space character, neither is the Evil Robot. S9 Alien Avenger: A lot of what you said about him seems like pure speculation. Bricks and Minifigs is a secondhand Lego seller that has no official ties to LEGO as far as I know, so anything they put in their made-up descriptions isn't canon. The official description of the Alien Avenger goes: While I agree that the "Avenger" in the name seems to imply that he was a victim of some sort, nothing in his description confirms that he was wronged by any of the Space factions. He's just part of an unnamed ragtag group of warriors. Given that they're scavengers, this team may not have a clear color scheme, but rather a cobbled-together look. S9 Battle Mech: Like you said, while it looks similar to a Galaxy Squad figure, it lacks their logo, so is likely not affiliated with them. The Battle Mech's description seems to indicate that it is an unaffiliated hero similar to Voltron or the Megazord. Perhaps it is a Galaxy Squad robot that got repurposed by whoever is controlling it. S16 Cyborg: The fact that she appears on a game cover pretty much confirms that she is just a video game character, or at least someone from (a future) Earth that the game is based on, so I don't think she's part of any Space faction. S17 Retro Space Hero: His description heavily implies that he's just an actor in a cheesy TV show, so I don't think he counts as Space. S24 Robot Warrior: All we know about it is that it defends its world and is ready for battle. While its world could be Earth, it sounds more like it has its own world to protect, so I would argue that this one is actually its own Space faction. It even has its own logo. We'll have to update this list when the Space CMFs release!
  16. You have a seriously messed up worldview if you can’t tell the difference between some fictional spacemen who simply steal stuff and actual friggin Nazis. LEGO Vikings are not the ones you see in The Northman or history books. They’re LEGO’s kid friendly version who just fight mythological creatures. Same with the Nazis in Indiana Jones who you will never see referred to as such or ever wear a swastika. To bring this back on topic, this is why it made sense for LEGO to make their own adventure theme first where the villains are just rival treasure hunters and where the treasures weren’t religious artifacts. It allowed them to make sets without dancing around these problematic topics and have a lot more creative freedom than merely changing some colors on a temple wall.
  17. The theme is called Adventurers, not adventures, hence my earlier confusion. I hope you use the correct name in your video. Not necessarily. As others mentioned, with licensed themes they have to figure out how to adapt the source material into a set that is fun and fits into their brand values instead of just developing a concept that is made to be a LEGO set. And it’s not like they don’t do a bunch of marketing for licensed themes as well. Just look at all the countless video games and animated specials for Star Wars, Superheroes, Jurassic World, etc. WOAH! You’re not wrong about the Empire, but comparing harmless old LEGO factions to Nazis is going a bit too far! I’m starting to get the feeling that you’re just a troll trying to stir up trouble by hating on popular themes and asking for the whole forum to be restructured.
  18. Are you talking about Adventurers or adventures in general? I’m assuming it’s the former, but either way, I haven’t heard this before. To me it just sounds like speculation based on the similarities between the themes, but maybe someone else knows more. Regardless, I’m glad we got Adventurers first.
  19. I think it’s a very strong series. It might be the first one I buy a whole box of since all the figs are army builders! Sure, there are some duds like the UFO costume or the Astronaut (shoulda been a CS Spaceman and UFO alien remake instead) and some like Orion are kinda odd choices, but they all come with interesting new molds at least. The long overdue remakes of M-tron, Blacktron II, and Ice Planet came out excellent, although it’s a shame the M-tronian doesn’t come with a visor (why is LEGO so stingy with trans. neon colors these days!?) and that the Blacktron mutant had those lime double arms and animal leg on both sides. Also, I wish the Insectoid was a Zotaxian cyborg like from the original theme, but it still looks cool. The MIB-style tiny aliens in a minifig robot suit is a very clever idea (I bet the reverse side of the head has the closed face), and the space nurse will go great with my hospital spaceship! Retro Space Girl also looks great. They’re literally all space related. And when has a CMF series ever fit together? Even the licensed series and previous themed series had many varied figs, even in different scales.
  20. News flash: All LEGO themes are for kids and adults (except Icons). If you go to the Ninjago and MK discussion threads you’ll see plenty of adults appreciating them. You may not like them, but that doesn’t mean others don’t.
  21. No. You forgot about the biggest ones: Ninjago and Monkie Kid. Although Monkie Kid is a bit hard to find in physical stores.
  22. Personally, I would keep licenses and action/adventure themes separate. Not only because in-house themes should have their own home, but also because there’s already too much going on in the licensed themes forum. The yearly discussion threads take up a quarter of the first page as it is because of how many licenses there are nowadays!
  23. There are said to be no more Indy sets next year and there is no other adventure theme rumored AFAIK. As you mentioned, LEGO is focusing on space subthemes next year. Maybe after that we might get a new adventure (sub)theme if Indy still doesn’t continue. How do you know that’s not what they did? What makes it “a dream for babies”? Like Murdoch said, it’s an action theme wether you like it or not, and a very creative one at that So basically Aquazone? :D Yes, I’d love an Aquazone reboot.
  24. First they leave out the fig and now they replaced it with a minidoll? I think they’re actively trolling us at this point.
