  1. What meme? I keep hearing positive things about the show, so I might check it out at some point. Currently, I'm watching The Legend of Vox Machina. It's a fun show with a pretty cool backstory and is a great way to get excited for the upcoming DnD Ideas set! Amazon's other animated show, Invincible, is also pretty great. Netflix also keeps producing quality animation. Arcane is especially fantastic, but some of their other shows like JW Camp Cretaceous, Daniel Spellbound, Sonic Prime, and Kung Fu Panda The Dragon Knight, while aimed at a younger audience, are not bad either. Not to mention their excellent animated movies like Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio, Klaus, or The Sea Beast! I'm also enjoying the new Proud Family on Disney+. It's nostalgic and just as good as the original in my opinion.
  2. So, according to Promobricks, the rumored Dreamzzz theme is going to include a $90 set with 878 pcs titled "Mr. Oz’s Spacebus". The theme sounds absolutely bananas, so the set will probably look a lot more wacky than your typical Lego Space craft, but it's something. Nope. It was just a one-and-done which is why it was a GWP, not a real set, just like the Forrestmen Hideout. That doesn't mean they won't have another Space themed GWP again someday, although it probably won't be Blacktron again.
  3. Who knows. We never even got a message saying that it's closed for entries and the rules don't mention any deadline, so for all we know, you can still enter.
  4. Great entries everyone! Too bad there weren't more entrants. So.... Any update on the status of this contest?
  5. The MagnePulse Xcelerator is M-Tron's latest development in magnetic technology, an incredibly fast spacecraft featuring two large magnetic repulsion engines and a detachable cockpit that can serve as a rover. The rover is attached via magnets and seats one pilot and either a passenger or a cargo crate. The cockpit has a vertical panoramic window that also functions as the front wheel of the rover.
  6. The suffix ‘tron’ was commonly used in the 80’s. According to this article, it was a symbol of scientific supremacy and control - which is very fitting for Blacktron.
  7. So, aside from the obligatory Flash Batmobile (YAWN! ), has the DC Super Heroes Batman theme just been relegated to a Technic subtheme now? As bad as Black Adam was, I would have preferred getting a set from that movie than nothing. This theme is getting even less respect than Super Friends' Aquaman...
  8. I may just have to get 31139 Cosy House for that adorable Granite Grinder and Atlantis Squid!
  9. Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, come one, come all, to the biggest attraction in the Winter Festival: the Winter Wheel! Featuring festive details such as gift-shaped gondolas, spokes decorated to look like a giant glowing snowflake, and a wreath with twinkling lights going all around the wheel, this winter holiday themed Ferris wheel is quite the sight to behold! Get your tickets now to get a "Santa's-eye view" of the festival grounds and enjoy the merriest ride of the festival! Here is a view of it from the back without the light effects. This is where riders enter and exit the gondolas. A closer look at one of the gift-shaped gondolas. Happy holidays and happy new year everyone!
  10. To be honest, a lot of Harry Potter could be used in adventures in some form. For example, the Basilisk could be used as a giant anaconda in a jungle adventure, the Hogsmead/Shrieking Shack sets could be a village on a mountain expedition, or Fluffy could be used as Cerberus in a Greek themed adventure. And Gringotts with it’s mine carts and treasures is basically the Temple of Doom.
  11. Very nice! You got my support on that one! To me, this is much better than just a parts pack.
  12. Not surprised this was rejected. LEGO Ideas is for set designs, not for begging LEGO to release certain parts. If your argument is that these parts would help you make cool MOCs, why not prove it by designing one that incorporates all or most of them? Not only would that make the set much more interesting and qualify it as an Ideas entry, but also show LEGO and potential supporters why it needs to be made.
  13. Thanks for clarifying. What are the rules on overhang? For example, if we build a Ferris wheel, does the whole wheel need to fit inside 32x32 or just the base?
  14. Another question: For our attraction, would it be ok to mix the holiday theme with another theme, similar to how A Nightmare Before Christmas mixed Christmas and Halloween, or would that take away from the spirit of the festival too much?
  15. What a fun theme for this year’s contest! Will there be prizes or just bragging rights? Either way, I look forward to seeing the festival come together!
  16. Hello everyone! This is my entry for the Sky's The Limit category of the Wandering Skies contest over on Flickr. It's a modular steampunk house on a floating island with full interior and lights, so come with me on a complete tour of it! On the outskirts of the Lower Islands on a small floating island, there lives an eccentric inventor called Dr. Wasserdampf. In his secluded workshop covered in various steaming pipes and whirling contraptions, he spends his days alone working on new inventions to improve the lives of the people of the Wandering Skies. Lights can often be seen shining from his workshop long after the sun goes down as he tinkers away into the night. While he mostly keeps to himself, many of the Low Islanders know him well and they know they can always come to him if they need any kind of mechanical solution. One of his best inventions includes his incredible balloonless flying machine which he keeps parked on a floating rock attached to his island by a rope bridge. Meet Dr. Heinrich Wasserdampf and his trusty mechanical dog Rusty. Here, the inventor is working on his steam jet powered flight pack. Let's take a closer look at his house, starting at the top. On the side of the tower is crane for lifting up water barrels and other heavy objects to the upper floors. To avoid having to crank it himself, the inventor connected it to a windmill mechanism. On starry nights, the inventor likes to relax on his self-built deck on the roof and chart the stars using his big telescope. There is a giant gear sticking out of one side of the house. It was meant for rotating the top part of the house so that it faces the wind like a windmill, but Wasserdampf couldn't get it to work, so now it lays dormant here, serving as a place for birds to setup their nest. The attic is where the inventor sleeps and showers. He cleans himself using a prototype showering device which heats up water and pours it onto his head using a steam pump. He calls it a "shower". The second floor is where the inventor lives. Up on the fireplace is a portrait and an urn of the inventor's late wife Hilda. She was a brilliant chemist, but fell terminally ill one day and they couldn't afford the state-of-the-art doctors in the Imperial City who could have given her the treatment she needed. She was the love of his life and the only person he couldn't help. He now honors her memory by helping as many people as he can with his inventions. There is also a small dinner table, a bookshelf, and a kitchen with a coal oven. In the inventor's workshop, there is a wall next to the workbench full of Dr. Wasserdampf's inventions that are designed to make life in the wandering skies easier, including a grappling hook, a flight pack, and a pneumatic wood chopping axe. The house used to belong to a blacksmith, so it has a forge in the workshop which the inventor occasionally uses to make metal parts for his contraptions. Next to it you can see another one of his inventions, the flight cap! In the center of the workshop, there is a trapdoor with a ladder that leads to the basement levels. In the basement, there are various stored goods including coal, a water boiler, a lamp, and the steam-powered wheelchair that the inventor built for his wife before she passed away. If you go down the ladder further, you get to a rope bridge that leads to the landing pad of the inventor's flying machine. That concludes our tour of the Inventor's house. What is your favorite part? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for stopping in.

    Futurama

Who knows. Considering that it has a drinking, smoking robot as one of the main characters and that all of those projects got turned down (even ones that didn’t include the characters) it seems unlikely to me, but then again I never expected expected LEGO Simpsons to ever be a thing. All I know is if we don’t get it, I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.
  18. Thanks for the extension! It allowed me to enter something, even if it was quite last minute. Don't worry, I didn't notice it in time to really make anything great. I hope people still enjoy my entry though.
  19. Do you like spooky themes such as Monster Fighters? Do you miss the high-octan action of themes like Racers and Mighty Micros? Then get ready for the next action theme: Monster Racers! Every 1000 years, on All Hallows Eve at the stroke of midnight, all of the monsters gather under the full moon to perform a ritual that will determine the next King of the Monsters: a big race through the monster realm on spooky racecars! Category 2 - Minifigs The following are some minifigs that could show up in the first wave of sets: Count NOS-Feratu - A special type of vampire who instead of drinking blood only craves adrenaline! He is very powerful and wealthy. He likes to host the Monster Race on his castle grounds and has been the champion many centuries in a row. Wereracer - A racecar driver who was bit by a werewolf one day and now turns into a big, mean racing beast every full moon. His driving style is quite vicious and wild, making him a force to be reckoned with on the track! Pharaoh Speedopatra - Also known as the Scorpion Queen, she used to rule ancient Egypt, but she had a big need for speed, so she had herself mummified and a curse put upon her so that she would reawaken when racecars got invented. Frankenracer - Created by the Mad Mechanic, this monster was assembled from the body parts of some of the best racers in the world in an attempt to make the ultimate racecar driver! Skeleton Racer - A skeleton magically brought to life by NOS-Feratu in order to give him a worthy opponent to race against. He believes that he can go faster than the other racers because he doesn't have any meat on him to weigh him down. The Headless Racer - A racecar driver from Speedy Hollow who lost his head in a car accident a long time ago and now rides his racecar in search for it, using a flaming pumpkin as a replacement. The Wicked-fast Witch - A powerful magic user who utilizes spells and potions to make her go as fast as possible. She is wicked fast, and if you try to pass her, she just might turn you into a toad! Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Ryde - Ever since Dr. Jekyl took a serum to try to control his need for speed, he occasionally turns into his alter ego Mr. Ryde, a ruthless and wild racer who greatly enjoys driving and will do anything to win the race! Ghost Racer - The restless spirit of a driver who died before he could finish his race. Now he haunts the track until he can win the race. He is completely invisible except for his racing suit and sunglasses. The Mad Mechanic - Once a brilliant scientist, he has dedicated his life to building the perfect racecar and created Frankenracer to drive it. He can be found working on cars in his laboratory/workshop or helping with the technical aspects on the racetrack. Zombie Pit Crew - A horde of the undead who were brought to life by the mechanic's mad science to help him with the maintenance of the Monster Racers' cars. They're not very bright or very fast, but they will do anything you ask of them in exchange for some brains - eventually. Category 1 - Theme Concept Set name: Headless Racer VS. the Wicked-fast Witch Pieces: 80 Price: $10 Set name: The Big Monster Race Pieces: ~250 Price: $30
  20. Glad to see I’m not the only one. Let’s see what @Clone OPatra says.
  21. Any chance to get an extension on the deadline until Sunday so that we have the full weekend to finalize our entries?
  22. How did I miss this until now? What a fun and unique idea for a contest! I’ve actually been working on a concept for LEGO World Builder and this might give me the push I need to start creating some designs for it. I must agree with some here that a $10 set doesn’t give you much to work with. Even before the recent price increases, ten bucks would only get you a motorcycle and a couple of parts and figs in most themes, but I understand the need to keep the scope of the contest reasonable and accept the challenge. Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!
  23. PlunderCats are on the move, PlunderCats are loose! The PlunderCats are a band of ferocious feline pirates lead by the fearsome Captain Fluffybeard. Their hideout is located in the middle of the Catribbean on Cat Skull Island and is essentially a big cat tree. Their ship is basically just a box with sails since the cats are usually more interested in the crate that the pirate ship parts arrive in than the actual ship itself. They don't get very far with it, though, since they tend to claw up the sails much like they do with drapes. The island used to be inhabited by Mouselanders until the PlunderCats hunted them and drove them away. The only remainder of their culture is a statue on the beach. And yes, that is a cat turd next to it. After all, what is a beach but a giant litter box. The PlunderCats are always on the run from the Imperial Armada, but recently they managed to capture their arch enemy, the scurvy dog Admiral Barkington, and are holding him hostage. They imprisoned him in a kennel on their island with a dog bowl with a delicious bone just out of reach. The admiral is not happy about his situation. Inside their cat tree house, they have a table with a treasure map and various chests and barrels. Captain Fluffybeard also likes to keep a parrot here, in case he wants a snack to play with. Outside the hut, some of the PlunderCats ladies have gotten into a swashbuckling, literal cat fight. One of them is standing on the bridge that connects the cat tree with the guard tower by the kennel prison which is armed with a hairball cannon. On the roof of the hut, one of the cats dove head-first into a barrel of catnip right after knocking over a carton milk because, well, he's a cat. There is also a crane here which when not used to lift up supplies to the cat tree, it's used to dangle cat toys from it. On one of the platforms, two very popular cat musicians, keyboard piano cat and bongo cat, are playing shanties to entertain the other PlunderCats. Let's hope they don't catch a cold up here and go viral. Up on Cat Skull Mountain inside the giant cat head is a cave where the PlunderCats keep their most prized treasure: the Golden Cheezburger. A cat skeleton is here to remind potential thieves that no one can haz it but them. From the giant skull, a waterfall runs down to the river below, making it look like a cat barfing onto a carpet. Here is a closer at Captain Fluffybeard and his fearsome crew. I hope you like my entry for the pi-RATS & BUG-aneers contest on Bricknerd. Plunder, plunder, PlunderCats yo-HO! Play me out, Bongo Cat!
  24. This little clock from the Madrigal house could make a fine adventurer’s pocket watch. And the new time turner hourglass could be similarly useful. That would be great!
